Dopamine Week #3 - fic rec #5

We all know @holylustration's excellent work for the Rogue Trader fandom:

Predator & Prey is THE longest running Marazhai x RT fanfic and by far the most liked one on AO3, and it is absolutely justified since the writing is as always spectacular.

And My Knight So Daring is the well known and beloved KnightPilot!Heinrix X Aurelia AU that has us all waiting for every update.

But Holy has also written a delightful fic series that deserves a lot more love - and more entries:

It features the male Commissar Rogue Trader Edmant von Valancius and his courtship with Lady Cassia. It also features a very cute kitty by the name of Mouse.

As always, Holy writes with so much love and attention it's hard to single out one thing that is great but I try:

Edmant is a Lord Captain with a great beard and an even greater sidearm who is woefully out of his depth in his courtship with the Lady Navigator.

The three fics published so far paint a vivid picture of their beginning romance and I for one would love to read more. The prose is lush and vivid, the dialogue is on point and always fits the characters, and the cat behaviour is so life-like and loveable that one can't be angry when Mouse ruins yet another romantic scene with being a cat.

Please show these little gems some love and attention. <3

Bitter And Sick -- Ben/Kylo and Poe

Is this basically a vent vid? Yes. Yes it is.

It was one of those moments where Artoo could be persuaded to get himself unglued from Threepio’s side for just five minutes.

”Look, I need your help with something,” Poe said. “Kylo told me something about Luke; probably a load of happabore dung, knowing him. Probably didn’t like to lose on Crait. But anyway...I was wondering if you could help me solve the mystery. You were with Luke that night, weren’t you?”

A simple, beeped affirmative.

”Right. Do you...know what happened?”

Poe was keenly aware in that moment that the moment he asked that question, there was no going back.

Artoo beeped, clearly wondering what Poe’s purpose was in viewing it.

”I just want to know the truth.” And I promised Kylo. I really did. “Ben meant something to me, and so did Luke.”

No one is more surprised than I am, trust me.  After more than four years, a return to the AU wherein Ben Organa is a senator for the New Republic, and Poe Dameron is still the best damn pilot in the Resistance.

“My mother will send a rescue party, won’t she?” Ben asked, hobbling under a low hanging branch.

“Yes.”

Poe’s answer was swift and he didn’t look at him, but Ben could feel the worry coming off of him in waves. They were on an unknown planet in the Outer Rim without a comm or a ship to fly home. He was lying to give Ben a little undeserved comfort because, as they were discovering on their hike through the jungle, this little strip of land appeared to be the only one around for miles. It would take a miracle to untangle them from this mess.

Darkpilot Aesthetic: Alpha/Omega verse 

Poe, an alpha, and Ben, an omega, decide to fake-dating so Ben would not be anymore harassed by another alpha, Hux. Poe picks up Ben to school and when they cross Hux’s path, they put their plan in action. Though, it’s more difficult than expected to tear themselves apart from each other.

If you don’t like A/B/O verse, give it a try though. I hate this trope and yet I adore this story.
