i was sitting in my room thinking of how convenient it is that the books in the pjo series takes places before or after the school year. then i remembered that ttc happened during winter break. and that percy and annabeth likely returned for their second semester after that quest. what a tragedy.

#kny crossover #genshin impact #kaedehara kazuha #shinazugawa sanemi #one day I’ll finish writing the first chapter. one day #anyways I love thinking about these two #i think platonic relationships are so fascinating #like you could definitely construe so many different friendships as romantic ships but to me these two as friends has so much potential #sanemi canonically dislikes Giyuu because he gives off a ‘better than everyone else there’ vibe that is purely unintentional #and canonically is friends with Iguro for reasons I still cannot figure out #sanemi’s so interesting because it’s not like he’s a purely chaotic character despite what his first appearance would suggest #the manga and genya’s memories clearly show that he has a lot of respect for oyakata-sama because oyakata-sama is not high and mighty and-#does in fact understand every sacrifice that goes into the battles that they fight that he must sit on the back lines for #sanemi is a very loyal person I think once someone has earned his loyalty even though he owes about showing this in very aggressive ways #I think he goes off against genya especially because genya fighting as a demon slayer goes against everything that sanemi has fought for #since they lost their happy lives sanemi has been fighting for at least one of them to still be able to live normally and he probably thinks #that Genya spat on that sentiment by becoming a demon slayer anyways #anyways I think sanemi and kazuha would have such an interesting dynamic #sanemi has the authoritative upper hand as a pillar but kazuha isn’t even a demon slayer which means sanemi’s position doesn’t do much #beyond acting as an indicator that he is one of the strongest of the corps anyways.#they’ve both lost a lot but sanemi still has someone to fight for whereas kazuha is holding onto the last embers of a corpse’s wishes #and I think them having a talk about their motivations would be very good #because I don’t think at this point that kazuha has very much reason to live beyond carrying on Tomo’s wishes #if the swords are parallels to visions I think Kazuha’s turning point will be when he receives his own nichirin sword #sorry for the long tags lmao

i've been dead and gone bc of school and jobsearching and everything happening all at once but ive been playing the boktai series games lately and i'm enjoying it a lot. I just got past the third boss in boktai 2. I don't know why but i'm enthralled with these games, i highly recommend them

#WOE TEN THOUSAND TAG MUSINGS BE UPON YE (this is a warning)#boktai #(pointing) the battle network fan has fallen for the crossover marketing 20 years late #the first gif is bc i imagine the bosses waiting all polite like for django to finish eating healing items when heal scumming in fights.#twenty apples a day keeps the damage away #django is like a son to me hes just a little guy #if the text is hard to read in the third image it says “The tick damage in sunlight brothers”#i find it funny that vampire django still gains his energy from sunlight after turning. his voiceline changes too #it's hard to tell if it's bc hes supposed to sound gruff or like hes in pain. but it makes me feel bad for recharging energy like that #i figure he'd be wound up abt this since it seems he views any connection to his father with a lot of weight #(e.x: zazie pointing out he's crying just after the gun del sol got stolen at the start of 2)#hence why he's depressed in that image #also all the official art of him looks very cool but im incapable of seeing him like that his sprite makes him look like a scruffy dog #im torn between thinking it's cute nd wanting to make fun of him with doodles. least typical vampire appearance with the most typical power #the way you kill immortals (vampires) in this game is so metal i need to rant abt it Somewhere #so like boktai is a game series abt vampire hunting but it's rather sci-fi abt it. instead of more typical weapons you use solar energy #the immortals resurrect after being killed #but this can be prevented via purification. the way this goes is #after winning a bossfight the enemy will get sealed in a coffin. that you then to drag allll the way back outside the dungeon #(often with new puzzles thanks to the coffin being an extra weight)#all the while the immortal inside tries to escape #the objective is to get the immortal to a. summoning circle i guess?#housing devices called pile drivers. they're more like lenses or mirrors though.#they focus sunrays on the coffin purifying the immortal after a brief fight that's like #preventing the boss from attacking the pile drivers until it dies #like. this doesn't sound all that special but most bosses you fight are sentient and i just think it's a bit of a brutal method #for a main protagonist to use #i keep thinking of how it must feel to do it for a living. something like a funeral driver but you're the murderer and the corpse isn't dea #and instead of a funeral you're taking them to a mega death laser array that'll slowly chip away at their health #and then boktai 2 inflicts that on django and im like. is he ok (he's ok but he died)

the line where they call ash's oshawott a throwaway pokemon in the unova league so they're just flat out saying they think it's a worthless pokemon

to thine own pokemon be true (extra angst points for me bc ambipom was my second favorite on the team at the time)

the granddaughter of the guy who trains gliscor calling gliscor pathetic and weak to her face despite gliscor being an extremely sensitive pokemon

pretty much everything about that gible

blue episode (favorite color but they made it a fetish somehow and also dewott and brionne and meowstic are all there and its so bad)

boxing heracross immediately. also that battle frontier episode where it's literally the only returning ash mon (barring torkoal i think but i dont count it bc its native to AG) to get humiliated onscreen

pidgeot returning but gliscor didn't even show up in the miniseries despite being an Actual Character

#sorry ik i keep bringing up the throwaway line but like. its SOOOOOOOOOO bad holy shit #the heracross one isnt aaaaaas bad tbf bc they really make up for it in the sinnoh league #but aside from one ep in the miniseries we never quite get an episode where oshawott proves itself in a battle #i still love that episode bc it still kinda feels like an apology for all the oshawott bashing in bw but i am a little :/#that battling didnt even come up once #ive kiiinda eased up on gliscors benching episode bc at the end of the day it isssss pretty good to her. also its the best animated one #but its treatment like what i mentioned that still really drags it down to me #and also like. i know ppl praise gliscor being so powerful after the episode but i really dont get why we couldnt have just #had a gliscor training arc onscreen. but ig we wouldnt have that stupid ass gible plot that went nowhere now would we #but like.... we had such a huge stretch between that episode and the league. i really dont get why we couldnt have had a mini arc #where gliscor realizes shes not pulling her weight that well and really starts hauling ass #she doesnt really even sweep in the paul fight. she gets beaten immediately by ninjask #the drapion part was awesome tho yayyyy #but my point is that it wouldnt really change much if gliscor just stayed and got stronger on its own #have the bench episode be a wake up call for gliscor rather than a goodbye one and she becomes super competent #like im not just saying this bc gliscor is my favorite character in the entire show. i feel like its straight up kinda lazy and less reward #rewarding #imagine how the drapion fight could be EVEN MORE cathartic if we saw gliscor struggle and fight to get better throughout the show #as much as i like that specific battle and ash vs paul as a whole... it just kinda proves my point that sending gliscor away at all #was kind of a shitty move #like ohhhhh ash's team is all getting revenge for lake acuity yay!!!!! oh one of them was kicked off for the sake of a shitty gible plot th #which really only served to make shitty piplup bashing jokes and only actually had a conclusion in the league itself #by which time it was too late to actually do anything else with it. yeah we kicked someone off for that. but shes back now!!!#like it doesnt weaken the battle THAT much. in fact theres some value in how ash went out of his way to make sure gliscor could be there #so her defeat could also be avenged. and its still my fave battle in the whole anime. but it just proves to me how pointless that was reall #echoed voice

NOT okay right now im thinking abt pokemon leaving scars on their trainers + everyday, domestic problems.....

my roommate and i have decided to co raise for the hopefully upcoming puppy and he’s gonna be the primary raiser and today he said to me how he really excited to love a dog like how i’ve loved the ones i’ve raised and it made me so emotional

#i like kinda regret agreeing to him being primary raiser #especially bc it’ll be an uphill battle to get the organization to let us officially be co raisers #but idk him saying that made me feel a little better about agreeing #like it’ll be fine i’ll still be heavily involved with the dog #but i have also been waiting to raise again since january and him wanting to be the primary raiser came about very suddenly #and the day we talked about it i was having a rough day so i did not fully think things through #our friend who’s the president of the club tho is gonna fight for us to officially co raise #bc i need an on paper official connection to the dog otherwise i wont be able to handle it #but it’ll be fine i just wish i’d thought it through more before agreeing #and i’m excited for my roommate to have the opportunity #but i just need to also get to be one of this dog’s parents ya know

#genuinely when youre sick everything sucks #what i will say though #is that you should take it easy on yourself #everythings just going to feel like its so much more stressful and hard. because it IS more stressful and hard when youre sick #youre fighting an uphill battle #the most important thing you can do is treat yourself kindly while you recover #eat what you can. drink lots of water. take medicine where you can (avoid drowsy meds). and take lots and lots of naps #and if its something more chronic like when i had long covid #understand that although there might not be an end soon there's potential to get better #maybe not perfect but better #and there'll be good days or bad days. but take it a day at a time #keep your friends close. do what you can. if youre still in school talk to your profs about it #but youre going to be okay!!!#my asks

@tittyblade potentially! minikloon tweeted this video a while ago implying that the giant slime monster in the rift (upcoming skyblock update where you go into the portal in the wizard tower, entering a version of the hub in an alternate dimension) is "definitely NOT dante"

and we just saw more footage of "bacte" in a trailer that just aired on the hypixel youtube channel. there are goons of some sort and the battle is in the colosseum, notably an older version of the colosseum. it looks like it did right after the resistance battle :0 the colosseum also happens to be the spot where dante took his last hit so 👀

I think Soldier Love is off Spotify now. I told Spotify to hide the song from me, but I could still see the album cover and shit when I went to check and now it's gone entirely from their artist page. I was able to find a page for it by specifically searching 'spotify soldier love the rampage' on Google, but the song can't be played.

It is also no longer available on YouTube - I found the video by going through my history (because I left a comment on it re: ... everything) and the video is unlisted and unavailable.

Which - good call, wish you could've done that a liiiiiittle faster there, LDH.

I really love Alyson Stoner's battle yells in the data Xion fight

I've been thinking about how that fight has a special status--it's only unlocked (along with Xehanort) as one of the last fights you can do, it's Extra Hard with the HP-reducing attacks, and the way the battlefield becomes a sunset

And I think about the narrative interpretation I hold, which is that Xion represents Sora and Kairi's relationship ("Kairi as Sora remembers her"), and KH3 being about how it changes for them

Having to fight Kairi--the Kairi Who No Longer Is--as a "final boss" fucks me up so bad. "This is how it's supposed to be" feels like both an echo of Days Xion and Xion as what she represents wrt Kairi.

Kairi's battle yells are gentler overall--she has a couple of more intense ones, but she's softer than Xion. Xion is aggressive, full of grief that sounds like rage. She's fighting for her existence, even though she's not "supposed" to. (It's hard talking about a character born as a metaphor who became a real person bc when you allude to the metaphorical part you sound like an asshole T_T She became real through the love of Roxas and Axel (and the fandom), but that's not the battle being fought here.)

Believe it or not SK is a really important relationship to me. I'm aromantic, so I've never gone through a breakup--but I have had deep friendships change into something different over time, and I don't think I ever even realized how much that affected me until I revisited KH3. KH3's emphasis on SK's bond near the end means a lot to me--I read them as friends, but they love each other, and no matter what happens that love matters. If it was nothing, Xion wouldn't be so hard to defeat.
