Someone on another social media site tried to "gotcha!" me with the argument that sharing memes is just like using AI images because "memes are actual stolen uncredited work and copyright violations that could have just as (un)likely gone to original artists and models. Why doesn't that get the same destructive Witch Burner mob incitement energy?" My dude. This is not the clever argument you think it is. Partially because if someone takes me to task for posting a meme w/o credit, I’ll politely ask them to help find the creator of the meme. If that’s not possible, I’d probably delete the post with the meme.

But yeah. Memes, just like AI "art"! Today we have all learned.

I was wondering if I could ask your opinion on a thing regarding AI art. I'm not very knowledgeable on the technical side of how AI art software works, but I've heard of AI image generating softwares banning certain words or prompts. Do you think this could be considered censorship on the part of the companies that make these softwares? I'm becoming more open to AI art and I learned of this and wanted to know what you thought, as you seem really knowledgeable on the technical side of the subject.

Yes, this exists and it sucks huge donkey balls. The fact that a Certain Image Synthesis Platform doesn't let me say the word "blood" or "bruised face" or like 90% of the stuff I try to do for horror prompts because the creator thinks that horror art (or anything 'ugly') is, like, a blight on the human soul is Objectively Bad. And extremely annoying to have a bot constantly trying to hit my hands with a ruler when I go outside the coloring lines. That's why I use a lot of Simple Stable instead.

Oh isn't that interesting: my post about Gothic Beauty Magazine using AI generated images on their page has been removed from FB and IG because someone reported that it infringes on a third party's copyright. Apparently someone isn't happy about being told people's concerns that using AI generated images for content on their pages might foreshadow those types of images eventually being used in the magazine itself.

To be clear: GBMagazine hasn't used AI generated images in the magazine. But their reaction to people expressing their concerns about their using them on their social media pages is less than reassuring.
