yeah the funny thing about that "we put people on the moon" story is that orbital calculations dont actually take that much processing power. its just numbers, pure numbers. and Newtonian physics is so simple we can actually calculate it all by hand. i mean, its still calculus, it's EXTREMELY hard to do, but a decent chunk of the calculations done during the space race were done by human people, sometimes fact-checked by computers. if your chrome tab is lagging, its probably because its playing some video, and that takes WAY more ram than putting people on the moon. isnt that wild?
