#AIKATSU FANS ARE OUT FOR BLOOD
silvermoon424 · 1 year
Note
obvious akari/sumire/yozora from aiaktsu and aikatsu stars eippoffs are yuor magical goirls horrible thief and liar
I'm laughing at this ask so hard on multiple levels
I've never even seen Aikatsu so how could I rip character designs from them
My OCs actually DO have direct design inspirations... none of which are from Aikatsu
Apparently we aren't allowed to take inspiration from other designs
Making designs like "blonde-haired girl with purple eyes" that happen to coincide with other established character designs makes you a "horrible thief and liar"
Anon I honestly hope to God you're like 14

★~Her catchphrase is "Odayaka janai." (穏やかじゃないわね), which is frequently borrowed by other characters in later episodes. The phrase has multiple meanings depending on the context, but literally, means "This isn't normal/common." with Aoi's use of it.

★~She is the third idol to get her second Premium coord.
★~Aoi is 157cm tall.

★~Kiriya (霧矢) Kiri (霧) means fog and Ya (矢) means arrow. It's considered that surname Kiriya takes from Hiromu Kiriya (霧矢大夢) a top star of Takarazuka Revue.
Aoi (あおい) is the Japanese name for hollyhock (written as "葵" in kanji). It also the adjective form of "ao" which means blue.
About:
Aoi and Ichigo have been best friends since they were young. The two first met at a festival where the latter was dancing to Guppy, an idol.
She's highly knowledgeable about idols and the entertainment industry, but before that, she studied many cultural arts such as the violin, horseback riding, the piano, etc.
As a result, she is often referred to as the “Idol Professor” (アイドル博士 Aidoru Hakase) or Aoi-sensei (あおい先生). After the two joined Starlight School, it was revealed that Aoi got the best score out of around 1000 people on the test about past idols for the entrance exam, having answered every question correctly.
At the end of Episode 2, she became Mizuki Kanzaki's temporary manager after winning an audition against Ichigo. Her favorite brand is Futuring Girl and her stage color is blue.
Aoi is a calm and bright girl. She is very intelligent, possessing an encyclopedic knowledge and excellent analytical skills. She is highly determined towards her goals and approaches them very seriously.
Aoi makes sure to plan ahead and research as much as she can for a situation. She is hard-working and has a bit of a perfectionist streak.
As a child, Aoi quickly became interested in idols after discovering the freedom and excitement of it, which was a strict contrast to the traditional arts she partook in.
Since then, she has dedicated herself to idols and has studied idols ever since. She appears to be quite lucky as she is seen throughout the series meeting several idols she is a fan of.
She is known for being much more mature than Ichigo and tends to keep her on the right track, but has times when she can get very excited.
While normally she seems confident and in good spirits, deep down Aoi is afraid of the fact that she knows it's possible she and Ichigo won't both rise to stardom together as planned.

FEATURE: Madoka, Wonder Egg Priority, and the Future of Late-Night Magical Girl Shows
Tumblr media
Beware! This article contains spoilers for the beginning of Puella Magi Madoka Magica.
It is January 21st, 2011. In the shadows of a witch’s labyrinth, two girls named Madoka and Mami form a close bond. Mami is a magical girl, powerful but lonely. Madoka decides, then and there, to fight by Mami’s side. But then, in the middle of combat, the witch Charlotte transforms into a giant worm and bites off Mami’s head. Madoka’s eyes widen in shock. A broken china cup seeps tea on the ground. Smash cut to the wails of goth rock trio Kalafina as black clouds roil and a single flickering shape strides toward oblivion. Three episodes in, Puella Magi Madoka Magica threw down the gauntlet. Over ten years later, the mark it left is still there.
Puella Magi Madoka Magica was special. But why? Not because it was the “first dark magical girl series.” Sailor Moon, the modern magical girl standard-bearer, became popular not just because of its charming characters but because the show could do things like briefly kill everyone during the series finale. Even magical girl series aimed at younger audiences, like Ojamajo Doremi, tackled subjects like the death of a pet or the aftermath of a divorce. Not to mention the infamous 46th episode of Magical Girl Minky Momo from 1983, when the titular heroine was hit by a truck! Truly, everything has been done before.
The secret to Madoka Magica’s success is that it is not really a magical girl show. It is a suspense thriller cunningly disguised as a magical girl show. It has as much in common with Kamen Rider Ryuuki as it has with Sailor Moon, and was written by Gen Urobuchi, a former eroge game writer who ran in the same circles as Kinoko Nasu and Hoshizora Meteo. Madoka Magica is not interested in the slow process of endearment by which magical girl series ease you into the daily routines of their characters — the weekly monsters, transformation stock footage, holidays, and very special episodes. It presents as such only as long as it takes to put you off guard, and then (clad in the gorgeous raiment of art team Gekidan Inu Curry) it goes for your throat.
Tumblr media
So it was that Madoka Magica became the standard-bearer of a new kind of late-night anime. Rather than “cute girls doing cute things,” let’s call this genre “cruel things happening to cute girls.” Take something charming and unassuming, like a magical girl story or a high school slice-of-life show. Populate it with fun, marketable characters. Then set those characters screaming when the real story pops out like a jack-in-the-box. The frisson between cute and scary hopefully generates enough charge to catch the attention of audiences, but  — most importantly  — audiences don’t have to reach that far to engage with it. That is because these shows are built off those same conventions that anime fans are familiar with. Those conventions just happen to be evil this time.
As often happens in the entertainment industry, the success of Madoka spawned many copies. These projects did not have Gen Urobuchi, and they were often not lucky enough to have an art team as singular as Gekidan Inu Curry. All things considered, they tried their best. YUKI YUNA IS A HERO brought a different former eroge game writer, Takahiro, on board. Magical Girl Spec-Ops Asuka made its team of magical girls a proper military unit. More recently, GRANBELM added giant robots to the stew. I’d say Granbelm is my favorite of these, if only because the giant robots were pretty cool! I’d love to see them in a Super Robot Wars game one day.
Tumblr media
Some of the more interesting entries in the “cruel things happening to cute girls” genre didn’t have any magical girls in them at all. Selector Infected Wixoss was a card battle show about teens fighting for wishes; writer Mari Okada smartly changed focus from the cruel system tearing the characters apart to the way that individual selfishness keeps cruel systems running perpetually. SCHOOL-LIVE! featured a group of schoolgirls continuing their slice of life activities within a world devastated by a zombie apocalypse; the anime production was bolstered by a murderer’s row of writers from Nitroplus, Urobuchi’s former stomping ground. Episode 3 — a flashback to teacher Megumi on the day of the outbreak — is a genuine triumph, precisely because it is so earnest. Rather than pushing hard to shock or disgust the viewer, it allows the characters to breathe in the moments leading to disaster and lets the horror come naturally.
Traditional magical girl shows, in the meantime, have been doing just fine. We’ve seen several good seasons of Precure and two fantastic ones, the all-rounder Go! Princess Precure and uneven but groundbreaking Hugtto! Precure. Sailor Moon’s Crystal remake seasons and movies have steadily improved after a rocky start. The first few seasons of magical idol series Aikatsu are charming and introduce a fun legacy quirk that ties together characters from different seasons. Even Ojamajo Doremi has seen a follow-up film that puts the spotlight on the generation who grew up watching it.
Tumblr media
Madoka’s successors, on the other hand, are in a trickier place. Some of them have been successful, others have been good, but none have recaptured that lightning in a bottle that made Madoka a hit. Even a recent Madoka Magica series based on a phone game, written by Gekidan Inu Curry themselves, came and went without much buzz.
In the years since Madoka aired, there have been plenty of folks who have expressed their reservations about the “cruel things happening to cute girls” genre. After all, magical girl series can be revolutionary or transgressive without being cruel. Hugtto! Precure introduced the series’ first male Precure (equally comfortable wearing dresses as skating outfits) and featured a romantic partnership between two of its female leads. Go! Princess Precure’s best fight scenes are as spectacular as anything in this year’s Jujutsu Kaisen, yet remain perfectly accessible for its target audience of young girls. Madoka's progeny may have been targeted at older — and often, male — audiences, but outside of some blood and gore just a few of these series were more genuinely mature than the children’s series they riffed upon.

I do still see a future for late-night magical girl shows. In 2016, a weird magical girl series called Flip Flappers aired. Directed by animation wunderkind Kiyotaka Oshiyama, it featured two girls in love traveling through many strange and colorful environments in search of macguffins. Hidden inside a candy coating of marketable elements was everything from the Freudian fairy tale theories of Bruno Bettelheim, to architectural oddities such as thomassons, to occult figures like Jakob von Uexkull. Flip Flappers harnessed some of Madoka Magica’s sense of danger, putting its cast into intense and scary situations from the very first episode. But it was not a show about girls being tortured by an evil system; it was a show about girls exploring surreal dreamscapes. A new genre had been created: “cute girls doing weird things.”
Here are the cornerstones for the “cute girls doing weird things” genre: you need girls of course, maybe even magical girls, but the rules behind their magic are nebulous. Rather than take children’s genres and corrupt them, you build out atmospheric settings, drop in the characters, and see what happens next. You give the cast room to express themselves within the bounds of the story, rather than leading them down an assembly line to their doom. The malevolence of Madoka is not off-limits, but more useful still than malevolence is uncertainty. The goal is to unsettle the viewer rather than disgust them.
Tumblr media

Five years after Flip Flappers, a new show walks these same steps: Wonder Egg Priority, an original series from CloverWorks. Of course, Wonder Egg Priority is aiming at something totally different than Flip Flappers. Its spooky environments are incidental. Its main aim is, through riffing on the work of Kyoto Animation and famed director Naoko Yamada, depicting in full and uncompromising detail the difficult emotional lives of teenage girls living in the modern-day. Those lives just happen to be filtered through an anime lens of trauma manifesting as horrific creatures that have to be destroyed, and girls that need to be saved. Yet to me, Wonder Egg Priority captures the dreamlike atmosphere that Flip Flappers achieved in its best moments — the means by which characters exploring unfamiliar spaces reveal themselves in new and different forms. Despite being made of familiar parts, in execution, I think it is something new.
Somewhere between Flip Flappers and Wonder Egg Priority lies the future of late-night magical girl shows. They should not ever replace the ones made for kids; those do perfectly fine on their own, thank you very much. But in their embrace of uncertainty, I recognize a ghost of what I once felt when I first saw Charlotte’s gaping maw. The sensation that the ground had disappeared, and that — like magic — anything was possible.
What's your favorite recent magical girl show? Are you excited for the newest season of Precure? Does Wonder Egg Priority terrify you on a weekly basis like it terrifies me? Let us know in the comments!

Episode 21- Lucky Arrival
Tumblr media
After the duo stage the popularity of 4 Star and Starlight shoots up. Despite the fact that Mizuki and Hime aren’t in school anymore, people wanted to see the idol schools they went to. This leads to the two schools receiving an influx of applications. Madoka invites Raki to help her give the tour as Rin overslept and Raki rushes to Starlight. When she arrives, Madoka is nowhere to be found. Instead, Raki finds Nono and Risa. Raki goes up to them and says she can sense they’re great idols but she can’t recognize them. They smile and claim that they’ll introduce themselves the only way they know how.
Nono and Risa perform Promise Carat. Nono wears the Black Denim Dolly Coord and Risa wears the Romantic Bijoux Coord. The live gathers a small crowd who clap. Risa blushes and hides behind Nono who poses. Raki asks them why she’s never seen them and they mention that they live in Hokkaido and went back there for a while. “There’s actually another pair of idols we’re waiting for.” Cut to a gazebo with two figures sitting in it.
“The entire world revolves around…” Kokone rushes out of the gazebo to meet Nono and Risa. Miyabi stands gracefully and lets Raki know who they are. “When we heard about Starlight being famous we remembered we were students here too!” Raki says she’s never seen an idol like Miyabi before. Kokone spots group of girls on tour and rushes toward them.
“Kokone, wait!” Miyabi ran after her, “We were supposed to look for Sakura together. Kokone has the girls do her catchphrase and performs Love Like Caramelize. Nono, Risa and Raki find her at the end of her performance. Raki rushes up to Kokone and she takes her along to the next group of girls. Raki stops her and says that Miyabi needs her. Kokone apologizes and rushes back. Miyabi sighs and goes to the Starlight Queen Palace. They find Akari decorating it in preparation for that part of the tour. Akari greets them all and offers them cake which Kokone and Raki happily indulge in. Miyabi asks where they can find Sakura and is told to look at the track field.
Miyabi, Kokone and Raki walk toward the tracks and find Sakura meditating there. “I’ve been waiting for this.” She says as she stands up.  Miyabi walks to face her and the two pull out their cards as if they are about to duel. “Wait!” Raki cries. She asks if she can perform with them and Miyabi and Sakura ask if she’ll be able to keep up. Raki shows them her Red dress design (the one in her sketch not the promotional cards. See the image below for reference) The three perform Light Pink Day Tripper but only Sakura and Miyabi do the appeal. One the song is over, Sakura and Miyabi face each other with a smile but Raki seems sullen. Kokone asks her what’s wrong but Raki forces a smile. The episode ends with a shot of the clover in Raki’s sketchbook.
Episode 22- Going Our Way
Tumblr media
4Star’s tour is underway and starts with all the aspiring applicants and fans watching an interview with the old S4 (Hime, Yozora, Yuzu, Tsubasa) This brings back the purple cloud mascot that interviewed them in Aistars season 1. Backstage, Yume, Rola, Koharu, Mahiru and Ako are sitting in a dressing room. They’re in a circle holding hands with their eyes closed as the music in the background fades out. The opening plays.
After the S4 interview we get a shot of the crowd where we spot Saya, Natsuna and Sumomo. Natsuna is in a bad mood and Saya and Sumomo brought her to see Rola but she hasn’t appeared yet. The crowd disperses and Natsuna runs up on stage toward Tsubasa. Tsubasa panics and pushes Natsuna away but Hime catches her. Yuzu reassures her with a smile and Yozora asks, “Are you lost?” She looks at Natsuna’s jacket and notices a Spice Chord accessory. Tsubasa walks up to her and squats.
“If you like Spice Chord then-” Tsubasa is cut short by Saya and Sumomo’s arrival.
They explain things to Tsubasa and she sighs, “I see, Rola is currently occupied but I promise you’ll meet her today. I’ll give you three a personal tour for now.” Tsubasa takes the girls around and stops once they get to the balcony. Natsuna hasn’t said a word and Tsubasa asks to be left alone with her. After a few seconds of silence, Natsuna says that she’s been chasing after Rola for the past year.
“I’ve never really seen idols like me but Rola was. She wore clothes like I did and sang songs I wanted to sing too,” Natsuna whispers. Tsubasa smiles and stares at the sky.
“When I was younger, I wanted to be the top of Song Class. When Akari was younger, she wanted to be just like Ichigo. Being inspired by others is a beautiful thing, but you should remember that you’re a star on your own. Even my Spice Chord and hers are different. So will yours.” Natsuna seems unconvinced. Tsubasa shows her the Girl’s Flag Coord. Natsuna’s eyes light up. She sashays off and beckons Natsuna to follow her. We get to see Dancing Days.
Natsuna finally understands and tells Tsubasa that she can take her back to Sumomo and Saya. Tsubasa takes her to the dressing room just as Yume and Rola walk out. Saya and Sumomo as Rola walks toward her. Natsuna stands shyly behind Tsubasa.
“Do you love Spice Chord?” Rola asks. Natsuna’s eyes meet hers. She nods shyly.
“Rola, we’re up on stage.” Yume reminds her.
“Just a minute Yume.” Rola rushes back into the dressing room and brings out her bag. She hugs Natsuna and gives her the Black Shadow Coord and rushes onto stage. Natsuna blushes as she holds the cards and Saya and Natsuna take her back to the crowd to watch the stage. The five Stars girls stand in the Dressing Room and make a star shape with their fingers before appearing on stage to perform We Are Stars in the event coords above
Episode 23- A Girl like Me
Tumblr media
This episode starts in Tamaki’s office. Tamaki is watching footage of one of Raki’s recent concerts. As Raki sings ‘Your Entrance’ when suddenly her aura disappears. Tamaki’s eyes widen as she watches Raki finish the performance. She turns to Sora and Koharu across the desk. “Is this the first time this has happened?”
“No, I’m afraid not,” Koharu says, “Recently, Raki hasn’t been herself.”
“Yes,” Sora adds, “She lost her way somehow and isn’t designing as she usually does.”
Tamaki places her head on her hands and sighs. “This is something much deeper than dresses. Whatever is going on is something Raki feels about herself.”
*Opening plays*
We cut to Raki’s room as she stares at a blank page of her sketchbook. Madoka and Rin sit outside with PP and Wakaba. Akari, Ichigo and Yume arrive in a car and join them at Star Harmony. Koharu lays out the situation for all of them. “We need to cheer Raki up. Whatever made her want to design clothes seems to have stopped and she can’t perform. She isn’t the same as she used to be.” Wakaba suggests that they show her their Aikatsu Cards as the rest remain silent. Yume and Akari turn to Ichigo who has a stern look on her face. Koharu follows Yume’s eyes to Ichigo as well.
“She needs to find her rice scoop.” Ichigo remarks, “Whatever made her an idol…she knows it herself.”
“In that case,” Koharu says, “We’re all going to help her remember that.” Rin and Madoka head off to Starlight looking for Juri. If anyone knew passion, it would be her. Koharu and Yume went to Venus Ark and Wakaba went to Raki’s room. Ichigo and Akari left last and no one knew where they went.
At Venus Ark, Yume and Koharu begged Elza to come see Raki. Yume stepped forward and clasped her hands “You inspired her very first PR. You let me surpass my own limits! Elza please!” Elza’s gaze remained cold and she stood up to face the sea.
“If she can’t get over a simple rut then she should reconsider being an idol.” Elza said.
Koharu huffed and straightened her shoulders, “If I hadn’t helped you as a designer would you be where you are now?” Elza turns in disgust. Koharu doesn’t flinch and pulls out her own sketchbooks. She lays it on Elza’s desk and flips through the designs she had for Perfect Queen. “Elza, even you needed help. Right now Raki needs you and you should be there.” The scene ends
Wakaba and Raki are sitting on her bed talking about their families. Wakaba mentions that she misses them as she’s been so busy as an idol but knows they understand. Raki smiles lightly as Juri bursts in with Rin and Madoka. Raki is shocked as Juri showers her with roses. “I’m told someone here is feeling down” (I’m not including the Spanish because I don’t speak it so I can’t do it well) Rin tells her to calm down. Madoka offers Raki a candy pop. She stares at it for a while and curls up. “You’re all such good idols and I’m glad I met you but-I’m not sure I can be that.”
We see a flashback of Raki and her sister. Raki first tried to dress like her sister and emulate her style. We see a small Raki in her sister’s labcoat. As Raki grows older she starts to dress more like herself and gets the idea for Maple Ribbon. Her sister supports this and we see Raki receiving her Aikatsu Pass. As this memory plays in Raki’s head we see her eyes light up a little.
In the Starlight Palace Akari nods as she chairs a Starlight Queen meeting. Otome, Sakura and Mizuki are in a circle as Ichigo watches. Mizuki stands. “I may not know her well but I can’t stand by and watch an idol lose her way.”
“Do you think we’re doing too much?” Ichigo asks, “I don’t want us to smother Raki.” Otome shakes her head furiously but Sakura stops her.
“Raki’s been this way for a while,” Sakura starts, “Ever since her stage with me and Miyabi…she wanted to see all sorts of idols but I’m not sure she knows what she wants to be herself. She’s shifted between all sorts of looks and has done a little of everything.”
“She can be whatever idol she needs to be. We just need to remind her.” Mizuki says and Akari decides to end the meeting.
Madoka receives a text message and asks Raki to go to the stage in Star Harmony. The message says that Raki should go alone and she does. Wakaba looks worried. As she enters the empty seats, she notices Ichigo standing in the spotlight. “Raki,” she says, “We know that something’s wrong but we don’t know what. We want you to know whatever idol you’ll be we’ll all support you.” Four more lights appear. “And so prepare to see four idols who came into their own just like you will.”
Sweet Sweet Girls Talk starts playing. The stage is a garden with a gazebo and tea cups. It’s very flowery and elegant. The Starlight Queens appear. Otome wears the Cotton Color Coord, Akari wears the Rose Party Coord, Mizuki wears the Moon French Coord and Sakura wears the Noble Coord.
Tumblr media
As the stage ends, Ichigo invites Raki on stage. She takes the mic (It’s the same one from the Ichigo movie) “I’m grateful you all did this for me.” The other girls walk in, revealing they were listening to the performance, “I started designing to make clothes I wanted to wear. I want Maple Ribbon to be something girls like me can wear.” She takes a pause and looks around the room. “But I’m a girl who wants to wear whatever she likes. All sorts of clothes exist in my brand. Thank you for reminding me I don’t have to be anything to make it.”
The episode cuts to black but lights up as we get Idol Activity(All Stars Version) in the Shining Line Coords. During the performance we cut to scenes of Raki interacting with the other protagonists.
Episode 24- Lucky Time
Tumblr media
The episode starts with Honey Cat decorating Star Harmony. We see Reflect Moon giving readings to the Star Harmony students. In a dressing room Raki and Wakaba are having their hair done by Sora and Mahiru. There’s an event going on named Lucky Time. Crowds begin to gather and Hariu checks the tickets. As the crowd comes on stage, we see that Pure Palette are the MCs. They thank the audience for coming and mention that Honey Cat will start the event.
You X I plays. They perform in their first Friends Dresses with their Miracle Aura. After that Maika and Ema mention that they’re here today to help two girls to form their own Friends. Wakaba and Raki walk on stage and the crowd begins to cheer. Raki and Wakaba reveal that their Friends unit is Clover Ring. Mirai blushes as she and Karen hold hands in the crowd. Raki gives a short speech about how far she’s come. She thanks Wakaba for being there for her and they run backstage to the Dressing Rooms. Raki wears the Pastel Purple Line Coord and Wakaba wears the Cherry Link Coord.  They sing Aikatsu Friends. The rest of the episode has Raki and Wakaba climb a mountain and sit together at the top as they watch the sunset together
Episode 25- Venus Dream
Tumblr media
The episode starts on Venus Ark. Aria and Carol Alice stand watching the sea as Rey walks out to meet them. “Elza wants to speak to you,” They walk into Elza’s office as Alice adjusts her bonnet.
“Alice! I placed my trust in you once and you failed me. Right now Venus Ark needs you more than ever. We must catch up to the other schools so all Venus Ark students simply must debut.” She pushes a letter forward. Alice picks it up and smiles. “Isn’t that the brand you admire?” Alice nods. “Very well. Aria, take her to the muse.” Rey sees them out of the room. The opening plays (This would be Twilight Etranger with scenes of everyone)
Aria rows the mini-boat Elza gave them but they’re making no progress. Carol admits she’s never rowed a boat and Aria said she did so with Hime as a child. Carol swirls her hand in the water. They drift vaguely along the sea as Aria places flowers in the water. “This way we won’t get lost.” Aria says. Carol sighs as the sun continues to burn intensely. Aria lets her hair down and starts humming her song. Carol joins her and they hum together to lighten the mood. As they sing and drift at sea, a third voice joins them. They turn in horror only to see Mirai in a floating tube. She waves at them and swims over. Karen stands over her own ship at the dock and has them brought in.
Alice and Aria sit by a white table in a small room with wide windows letting the sunlight in. After being refreshed Karen asks them why they were drifting at sea. Aria mentions that they were on their way to the ship. Mirai tells them it was a strange way to get there. Carol covers her face and stands before Karen.
“I- I’d like to wear… Classical Ange.” She stammers.
“Hmmm,” Karen holds her chin. “So this is what Raki’s Pass has brought about,” She steps forward and uncovers Carol Alice’s face. “You’re clearly a beautiful girl Alice. A graceful lady who should wear fitting clothes.” Karen takes her hand and rushes over to the desk. Aria smiles as well. Karen gives Alice the cards for the Mermaid Blue Coord. Carol takes the cards and places to them on her chest.
“Thank you, for believing in me.” Alice says. Karen takes them back to Star Harmony and announces that she will be sharing her brand with a Venus Ark student. News spreads back to Elza who is furious.
“Why couldn’t she bring her here? Rey, we can’t let ourselves be left behind.” Elza storms out and makes her way to Star Harmony.  Rey makes sure to alert the press that royalty was on the move. Elza steals the show and has her staff spread Venus Ark banners over the halls she walks through. Raki and Wakaba see this and mention that they’re not surprised. After walking around a bit, Elza demands that Alice be brought to her. In the meantime, she sits on a makeshift throne with Rey standing guard.
Alice walks towards Elza and meets her eyes. Elza is taken aback. Alice had never done that. She had a certain poise in her walk. Rey blushes and comments that it seems as though she’s gliding. Alice tells Elza that she wants to show her a performance worth seeing. Elza nods as she tries to hide how proud she is of her.
Tumblr media
Aria and Alice rush to the Dressing Room. Aria wears the Nadeshiko New Year Coord and Alice wears the Mermaid Blue Coord(pictured on the left). Pirouette of the Forest Light starts playing as Aria sings the first line. Alice joins in and as the tune plays her aura appears. Six blue candles rotate around her with gold stands. Blue jewels and purple lilies float around her. The appeals are Angel Garden and Star Heartful World. As the show ends Elza congratulates Alice and gives her a hug. The episode ends

alistair shepard!
Here we go... for the boy! Under the cut because long and a mention of dysphoria towards the end.
01. Full name: Alistair Michael Shepard. Most people don’t even know his full name is Alistair because those closest to him only call him Al. Hell, his own sister didn’t even know it because he changed it after she left the planet.
02. Best friend: His adopted sister Bo Peep Shepard (reallyfuckinggay created her). They’ve been through everything together, including a thresher maw. That means something to a friendship.
03. Sexuality: Gay. He might also be either demi or grey A, haven’t decided there yet but most of my characters wind up some flavor of aspec.
04. Favorite color: Sky blue.
05. Relationship status: Single in 1 and most of 2. Dating Garrus in 3.
06. Ideal mate: Someone who he can relax around and not feel anxious. He has GAD, the anxiety in his brain never shuts off. Finding someone who can make that be quiet is a godsend. Also, someone he can talk to - especially if it’s tech.
07. Turn-ons: Intelligence, a sense of humor. His is terrible.
08. Favorite food: Fish and chips and pixie sticks. The green ones. Just the green ones.
09. Crushes: Oh ho ho... He had a brief crush on a fellow marine in the unit that got eaten by a thresher maw. Definitely crushed on Nihlus before Eden Prime went down. Clearly it didn’t work.
10. Favorite music: He is a fucking music hipster who likes 21st century idol music. His favorite group is the indomitable Sunburst Idol Unit, the badasses of the Aikatsu realm. (Yes he’s fans of my own OCs eat me.) He also enjoys older music in general - it doesn’t make his amp vibrate.
11. Biggest fear: Losing the people he cares about, or those under him. He tries so hard to save everyone... and he just can’t sometimes.
12. Biggest fantasy: A hamster so large he could ride on it. Imagine the cuddles... imagine the fucking nightmare testicles.
13. Bad habits: Letting his blood sugar get too low. He has a CGM, but sometimes he doesn’t pay attention to it and mutes the alarm because it’s annoying. It’s annoying for a reason, Al. Also he tries to take too much on himself - you have a unit, use it.
14. Biggest regret: That he couldn’t save more of his unit with the thresher maw attacked. Also that he couldn’t do anything when the batarian pirates attacked Mindoir. He even regrets not being able to save his father, and he hated that man.
15. Best kept secrets: Dude’s a total dom. Nobody knows it, but he’s well aware of his tendencies and keeps it under very tight wraps. It’s not work appropriate.
16. Last thought: Wishing he hadn’t died in front of Bo. That look on her face as he floated into the abyss is something seared into his memory.
17. Worst romantic experience: When he was in high school, he had a crush on a boy in his chem class. This was before he came out, but while he was questioning. Boy he fucked that one up.
18. Biggest insecurity: Probably his body. He has dysphoria more than he likes to let on. The worst offender is his voice. He hates how he sounds more than anything. That sucks when you’re the first human Spectre and anything you say becomes a sound byte - he 100% shuts off anything he’s watching if he sees himself.
19. Weapon of choice: A stinger pistol. It’s small, it’s red, and it’s modified to work for a left handed shooter. Also his biotics - he’s possibly one of humanity’s strongest defense oriented biotics. His barriers are solid.
20. Role Model: His mother, Rowan Shepard. She was dedicated to her job, her team, to the point she got them out before everything went to hell when she died when he was three. That taught him to see things through, even if it hurts - especially if it hurts. If not her, David Anderson. He admires the man’s honor and dedication. Anderson’s probably something like a  father figure to him which makes the end of ME3 sooo much fun.

While browsing the IdoLook for an Audition, she happens to spot one related to being a Weather Forecaster and Akari quickly decides that she was meant for this one.
After learning about how weather isn't always good news, Akari points out that while she isn't ready to become a Forecaster, it still seems fun and she wants to try anyway, and that she had a gut feeling and wanted to try it out, and now she understands that she can clear her Viewers feelings with her words, and it isn't any different than when she is doing her idoling.
Akari was excited when she learns that she will be hosting a new morning news segment known as Good Morning Watch, because of her feelings as an idol.
using the saying
“Ohayo everyone, the current time is  7:23~ What kind of sky is above us today? It’s time for Ozora Weather!”
Character introduction:
“ "I wanted to become an idol, a Starlight Queen who could bring people smiles. Even off the stage, I wanted to Aikatsu that would make everyone smile. I wanted to become an idol who could look for fun and inspiring things together with you. This all comes from how big a crybaby I was when I was younger as well as seeing Ichigo-chan do her best for the sake of her friend.
The sight of Ichigo-chan bringing a smile to her friend's face was incredibly awesome! If, like her, I've become able to ease someone's unpleasant feelings or bring them a smile, then that's all I could ask for. I'll work harder and harder – even if something bad happens, even harder – always doing my best!" ”
About:
Akari is a clumsy, somewhat nervous, yet cheerful girl. She highly admires Ichigo to the point of wanting to be an idol like her. She appears to cry and get frustrated easily, but is determined nonetheless. Akari is also quite resilient and is able to quickly recover from her mistakes.
In Episode 96, Akari has grown into someone who wants to shine with her own light. She has become a hard-working and an even more determined idol who no longer aspires to be like Ichigo. She is no longer clumsy and is still energetic and cheerful, but can be prone comedic antics from time to time, much like her mentor and predecessor.
Akari first became a fan of Ichigo when she was in the 4th grade. She had come across the Christmas Special television program (Episode 12) and was amazed at how Ichigo helped out her friends and brought smiles to people faces.
Desiring to be like that, she mustered up the courage to help a girl struggling on the uneven beams on her school's playground and after that, began down her road of fandom.
Akari attended Ichigo's unveiling concert for the Mermaid Pisces Coord and was taken by her concert. She decided that she wanted to be an idol and auditioned for Starlight, but didn't even come close to making the cut her first time around.

Spring 2019 First Impressions
The Spring list is late as usual (is it usual if it’s only the second instance?), but at least I’m closer to the beginning than last year. I’ve reached 50% completion on the doing this for an entire year consistently, so nice.
Tumblr media
Aikatsu Friends!: Kagayaki no Jewel (Aikatsu Friends!: Jewel of Radiance): Aikatsu is relatively low on my priority list of magical girl megaseries.
Tumblr media
Bakugan Battle Planet: This show actually premiered last semester, but in English, and this season is when the Japanese dub started. Either way its somewhere deep in the Bakugan series, which is based off of what are probably my least played children’s toys.
Tumblr media
BAKUMATSU Crisis: Second season of an otome game adaption that looked okay when I started it, but I still haven’t watched past the first episode.
Tumblr media
Bokutachi wa Benkyou ga Dekinai (Bokuben / We Never Learn): The main show that I know the source material of, and it is just about meeting my expectations. An average guy who has to study rigorously to maintain his average grades is put in charge of tutoring the two smartest people in his school. This might not make sense until it’s explained that he has to tutor them in their worst subjects, because those subjects are the ones they want to major in for college. It’s a nice theme of working hard for what you enjoy situated in a rom-com with some haremy aspects and an unusually high density of goofy faces, so watch it if you like those aspects.
Tumblr media
Bungou Stray Dogs 3: I still need to see what they did with HP Lovecraft in season 2
Tumblr media
Carole & Tuesday: What happens when a runaway rich girl and a poor orphan girl meet up on Mars? They form a band of course. A tale of two lonely souls finding each other and become a little less lonely in a big world, making music together. It looks great and it sounds amazing, so this is definitely a priority watch.
Tumblr media
Chou Kadou Girl 1/6 (Amazing Stranger): Imagine Buzz Lightyear from the original Toy Story except in a 20 -something guy’s house and then failing the don’t move when humans are around rule almost immediately. That’s what this show is.
Tumblr media
Cinderella Girls Gekijou CLIMAX SEASON (Cinderella Girls Theater CLIMAX SEASON): For somebody who doesn’t watch idol shows, the theater shorts are pretty fun, though I’m not nearly caught up in this one to say how this season is going.
Tumblr media
Diamond no Ace Act II: Oh boy there’s so much baseball this season and a lot of it is sequels.
Tumblr media
Fairy Gone: There’s a lot of things going on in this show but I think I can simplify it to military use of fairies to give soldiers super powers. The protagonist has been taking jobs as a mercenary to find her sister who was split from her after their village was burnt down. Then at an auction that she works as a guard, things start going wrong and the thief who appears is none other than that sister. The first episode ends with the end of a three way fight between security and the girls, so I’m not sure where the show’s going at all. Maybe if the show didn’t flash back to the protagonist’s village burning down three times, there would be a little more time to give direction.
Tumblr media
Fruits Basket (2019): I never know how to deal with reboots for shows that I can remember, but haven’t seen the original. I know there’s people who turn into animals and a “do the carpets match the drapes” joke, and that’s about it from the 2001 anime.
Tumblr media
Gunjou no Magmel (Magmel of the Blue Sea): After a new continent appears in the world, explorers flock to it, not always as prepared as they should be for venturing into the unknown. The main character works at a company to rescue explorers from mishaps along with a few others. The worldbuilding is interesting and the main character’s black lightning is pretty cool looking, but his attitude and decision making abilities kinda put me off for now. That and the comprehensibility of the subtitles I was watching fell off a cliff halfway through the episode.
Tumblr media
Hachigatsu no Cinderella Nine (Cinderella Nine in August): So far it looks like a pretty standard club building show based around women’s baseball. It looks nice and we have 4 club members as of the first episode, so they should make it to at least full team of nine pretty quickly. It looks nice outside of an odd montage near the end of the episode when the club plays a game with some local kids, and the character designs are a bit more memorable than the usual baseball cast. I appreciate the fact that they’re playing hardball, but I’m not the type of person to watch anything sports ever.
Tumblr media
Hangyaku-sei Million Arthur 2 (Operation Han-Gyaku-Sei Million Arthur): All I know about this show is that there’s a bunch of characters named Arthur and that it’s a sequel.
Tumblr media
Hitoribocchi no Marumaru Seikatsu (Hitori Bocchi's ○○ Lifestyle): When one of the most socially anxious kids in elementary school gets separated by her only friend when they go to different middle schools, her friend gives her a quest: to become friends with everybody in her new class. She’s got a real go-getter attitude, but from feeling physical pain from trying to talk to a stranger to fainting when somebody actually responds to her, she’s got a rough path ahead of her. It’s a really fun show that gets you rooting for the main character in her attempts of communicating with others in a normal manner.
Tumblr media
Isekai Quartet: Four of the biggest isekai series in one short mash-up is a recipe for confusion. Especially since they’re all put together in a school setting where no fighting is allowed, even if there are holy gods and undead abominations in the same class. Anything can happen with all these people taken from their original normal lives, tossed into various fantasy worlds, and then slam dunked back into a relatively normal setting.
Tumblr media
Jimoto ga Japan (I’m From Japan): I cannot find a trace of the anime anywhere online and I am glad of this having read the manga. It is just a really dumb comedy about Japanese prefectures that I struggled to read a few chapters of before giving up.
Tumblr media
Joushikausei: A silent anime, as in there’s no spoken words, about a few high school girls. It’s an interesting concept, but I found it a bit uncomfortable to watch, mostly due to the whimpering and other nonverbal noises the girls were making.
Tumblr media
Kedama no Gonjirou (Gonjiro the Yarn Ball): A children’s show that hasn’t been licensed and no group is fansubbing it, how unusual… It actually looks interesting though so I might search for the raws to check it out.
Tumblr media
Kenja no Mago (The Magi’s Grandson): A child raised by a powerful wizard in the country reaches an age where he can move out to the city and attend a magical high school. Unfortunately for him, his parental figures only taught him combat and magic, so he doesn’t really know how to sustain himself in the reals world. It is a decent concept but there’s a 50/50 chance of any scene looking nice or looking awful, and the scene transitions all look like they were made in Powerpoint.
Tumblr media
Kimetsu no Yaiba (Demon Slaying Blade): A happy family of coal sellers is destroyed in a night when a demon strikes. The eldest son was out due to a combination of work and a blizzard, and when he returns he finds all but one of his family members completely cold and covered in blood. This last member is rushed down the mountainside for medical aid, only to turn into a demon on the way down. A meeting with a demon slayer turns tricky as he tries to protect his demonized sister who’s fighting between killing instincts and her love of her brother. The opening promises some beautiful animations and the overall show isn’t slacking either, so overall it’s a very promising show.
Tumblr media
KING OF PRISM -Shiny Seven Stars-: It’s the TV version of a boy band movie tetralogy which is also a sequel I think?
Tumblr media
Kiratto Pri☆chan Season 2: A sequel to a idol anime that I reviewed last year. I think this is one of the first times a sequel has shown up that I also reviewed the first season of, though unfortunately it was for  a show that I didn’t watch fully.
Tumblr media
Kono Oto Tomare! (Stop this Sound!): One more club building show for this season, this one about a Japanese instrument called a koto. After all the upperclassmen of the club graduated in the previous year, only the main character is left in the club, and needs more members before the club gets closed, the usual. The first new member is a seemingly delinquent 1st year who is surprisingly diligent. There wasn’t too much interesting or unique other than the topic of the club, so music fans might find this more watchable than I.
Tumblr media
Kono Yo no Hate de Koi wo Utau Shoujo YU-NO (YU-NO: A Girl Who Chants Love at the Bound of this World): The first episode for this kind of front-loaded introducing characters and pulled out its premise of parallel dimensions and a device to navigate them towards the end, which means I’d probably have to watch another episode to figure out how I feel about it. It’s nice to not have a giant exposition dump take up the first episode of a show, especially since it will have two cours to tell a story, but I didn’t feel any particular gravitation towards the characters by this point, so I won’t be prioritizing any follow-up on it.
Tumblr media
Mayonaka no Occult Koumuin (Midnight Occult Civil Servants): With a job at a place called the Nocturnal Community Relations Division, the first thought of the type of people dealt with is most likely not going to be fairies. Our main character is taken from a world of the ordinary to being able to see and talk to the supernatural creatures that live locally, called Anothers. His co-workers are equipped with magically enchanted police tape and other trinkets to help solve issues that occasionally arise between Anothers. I like the modern fantasy setting, and the fairly low level fights with the supernatural so far, so there’s promise in where the show goes.
Tumblr media
Midara na Ao-chan wa Benkyou ga Dekinai (Ao Can’t Study): While the name Ao is usually blue, or sometimes even moth, in this case, it stands for Adult Only, the 18+ rating in Japan. This is due to her father’s profession, an erotic writer, and surprisingly, the main character hates her father for naming her that and spends her entire life studying to get into a college far enough away from him. This is thwarted by a guy confessing to her and filling her mind with romance and lewder thoughts, with the help of her father. I hate this as a concept and don’t watch this.
Tumblr media
Mix: A semi-sequel baseball anime. I say semi, because from what I’ve gathered it is recommended but not necessary to watch the original first.
Tumblr media
Nande Koko ni Sensei ga!? (Why is my Teacher Here!?): It’s about a male student and his teacher, ending up in awkward situations together, like being trapped together in a men’s bathroom stall. A show of pure fanservice through and through, so there’s not much else to say.
Tumblr media
Namu Amida Butsu!: Rendai Utena: What started out as an action about cleansing impurities from the world gives us a quick bait ‘n switch to a slice of life about gods bumbling about in the human world attempting to be competent humans. I found it irritating to watch, and it was very clearly based off of a gacha game, which do not have a good track record of making good shows.
Tumblr media
Nobunaga-sensei no Osanazuma (Nobunaga’s Young Bride): A modern age middle school teacher way down the ancestral tree of Oda Nobunaga meets the bride of the man himself, who traveled to the present from the day of the original Nobunaga’s death. She’s no older than when she left her original time, which leaves her at 14 years old, with no knowledge of modern day Japan so she’s stuck with the main character’s family and decides to be the new Nobunaga’s bride anyways, which… is weird.
Tumblr media
One Punch Man 2: A big sequel of the season, and one where people have been waiting with wary anticipation due to the change in animation studio and director. It definitely looks a lot stiffer than the first season, for action and non-fight scenes, but the story is a bit more interesting in my opinion, as the show starts working on fleshing out other heroes and why they fight.
Tumblr media
RobiHachi: the first episode of this really is a springboard for setting up what the plot and cast will be, just about starting right at the very end.  We’ve got an ultra gullible man in debt, a genius teen with no sense of purpose, a robot rabbit helper, and their spaceship that blares its own theme song when it transforms into a mech. They set off to find a legendary planet that grants happiness after a couple of hijinks on their starting planet. It’s a very busy show, both visually and plot wise, but still an enjoyable experience if you can keep up.
Tumblr media
Sarazanmai: 50% connecting with other people through oversharing with them, 50% kappas stealing souls from other people’s butts. It’s hard to describe the show but I’m having a good time, and the art is gorgeous, and special care is taken with little details in the show. I’d say watch the first episode definitely, and then decide whether or not to follow up on the rest of the show.
Tumblr media
Senryuu Shoujo (Senryuu Girl): The focus of the show is on the Japanese poetry type of Senryuu, mostly because the main character can only communicate with others through writing these poems. Thankfully, she’s got some good friends and is in her school’s Literature Club, so she has plenty of practice and is around people who appreciate her work.
Tumblr media
Sewayaki Kitsune no Senko-san (Meddlesome Fox Senko): The fox gods of the world have a duty to protect humans, and are becoming more proactive in seeking out humans with negative emotions before those emotions go out of control. In comes the male lead of the show, an overworked businessman who has basically just been going through the motions of life by this point. One of the fox gods appears in his house, doing the cooking, cleaning, and other tasks to help relieve the main guy’s stress. It’s comfy and there’s some funny moments, but I feel like the show would be better off as a more episodic show featuring various humans rather than just the one that it looks like the show will focus on. I’m also worried about the romance genre tag that the show has.
Tumblr media
Shingeki no Kyojin 3 Part 2 (Attack on Titan 3 Part 2): I’m still on episode 5 of the original series, with no particular motivation to make it any further. More people die in bloody explosions probably.
Tumblr media
Shoumetsu Toshi (Lost City): As the title of the show would imply there is a city that has been lost to humanity, as in, it just disappeared one day. The main female character is the only one who survived the city disappearing, and is targeted by a mysterious group due to that, and she tries to return to where the lost city used to be due to a message by her father who went missing with the city. In addition there was a monk with super powers who was standing on a motorcycle’s handlebars facing off against the main girl who could summon her Lost bodyguard with a bunch of guns but that was kinda just thrown in at the end.
Tumblr media
Strike Witches 501 Butai Hasshin Shimasu! (Strike Witches 501st Join Fighter Wing Takes Off!): Oh god it’s been so long since I’ve consumed Strike Witches content. This is a slice of life spin off of the original series, so the context is recommended, but not necessary. The animation is also very much on the rough side for a ten minute long short.
Tumblr media
Yatogame-chan Kansatsu Nikki (Yatogame’s Observation Diary): After briefly being disappointed in the lack of heavy Nagoya dialects encountered in Nagoya, the main character runs into a classmate who happens to have one. In addition, all of her favorite foods and animals are popular or famous in Nagoya, so he sticks around with her for meeting his ideals of what a Nagoyan should be. They then travel the city as part of the photography club to see all the sights of the city.
Tumblr media
Youkai Watch!: Despite what it looks like from the title, this is pretty deep in a line of sequels of Youkai Watch.

this is a seperate sequel to Aikatsu with a new cast and story | more character and plot focused
Aikatsu Stars! changes some things up compared to its previous season, for better or worse.
Aikatsu S1 seemed to focus on introducing as many new girls as possible. This worked for making sure that everyone found their “best girl” but was also a drawback as basically as soon as a specific girl’s arc ended you may not see them perform again for the next 50 episodes. Stars is vastly different. We have a set cast of characters and only get a few new ones introduced when the anime has spent enough time fleshing out the original ones. Almost none of the important characters get forgotten and dissappear for long periods of time. Which is great if you found a favourite character. IF, you did.
In Aikatsu S1, we didn’t have anyone with an “offensive” personality. They were all tolerable and you could easily get used to them. Stars! is different and starts out on the wrong foot. We get our main, Yume, who is a typical ditzy blonde. This immediately made me uncomfortable because the reason I loved Ichigo was because they didn’t force her into those typical main character tropes. Then we have her best friend Koharu, who basically gets showed into the back, making her somewhat irrelevant for the first half of the anime. And then we get introduced to the rest of the main cast; Laura, Ako and Mahiru. The problem? All 3 are a certain level of tsundere. Ako is 100% one, Mahiru is like 50% and Laura 30%. This was NOT a good decision. As I said, the first half of the anime mainly focuses on these 4 and as someone who doesn’t like the tsundere character type I got annoyed by their behaviour numerous times.
Fortunately, this gets better as the anime goes on. As we enter the second arc, the attention somewhat shifts on a new group fo characters and everyone goes through a lot of character growth. Still, I feel like they spent way too much time before committing. For example, Ako’s main character development happens around episode 80...of the 100 episodes. Like...
There’s also a bigger focus on the overarching plot. In Aikatsu, the story mostly consisted of smaller challenges like auditions and units with there not really being a bigger end goal. In the first half of Stars! the main plot is preparing for the S4 Selection and in the second half for the Aikatsu Rankings. There’re plenty of side stories and fillers but in the end the anime always comes back to advancing towards the main plot.
There are less songs and performances in Stars! which is kind of a bummer, however the songs are all amazing as usual and their performance dresses and stages are even prettier and more detailed than in Aikatsu.
The original season was a simple weekly wind down with minimal stakes, cute characters and pretty performances. Aikatsu Stars! becomes more of an actual story. If you go into this right after the 170 episodes of Aikatsu, it’ll be kinda weird. But as the anime goes on, the characters grow and form friendships and the plot keeps you interested. You don’t need to watch Aikatsu to enjoy this season as they’re almost completely seperate. [7/10] (x)

if you want: MICROBIOLOGY / to know the inner workings of the body / charming cast of characters / creative writing
I’m finally delving into the plentiful Summer Season offering, starting with “Cells at Work!”
I didn’t even take me a second to add this to my PTW. Science? Hell yeah. Overly dramatic portrayal of science in anime form? HELL YEAH. I’ve always been a sucker for stuff like this and I just couldn’t skip it.
So, how was it? Eh...there’s good and bad and seeing how popular this anime is, this review might get me killed but here we go anyway.
First off, let us get the small stuff out of the way. The music is fine but nothing remarkable. The animation is uh....questionable. The artstyle itself is a bit weird but it is not something I judge but the movements of the characters is so...uncanny at some places? Just watch the opening where it opens on the 2 main characters running and there’s just something wrong there. Fortunately, this problem isn’t very noticable most of the time as the anime uses a lot of quick cuts between dramatic stills and short action sequences. Still, the animation and the art is, also, just fine.
There’s no overarching plot, which is neither good or bad. The episodes are well....episodical. Very much so. One episode ends with a seemingly deadly antigen invading the body but the next episodes don’t even mention it.
I feel like it is also important to mention that if you’ve never studied biology in depth IN ENGLISH then some episodes can get insanely hectic. Whenever there’s something happening with the body, there’s a new antigen or a new cell showing up, the show stops and a very nice female voice explains what they are and what they do. However, there’s so much science lingo in these explanations that 50% of the time I was like ???????? BUT this doesn’t mean that the anime is completely incromprehensible, especially if you don’t particularly care about the real life explanations and just want to see some action.
So, why is Hataraku Saibou so popular? From what I’ve seen, there are mainly 2 reasons: the cast and the creativity. It is clear that the writers have a deep knowledge of the base material and they also love it. I see some fans reading about microbiology, trying to connect the things that appear in the anime with their real life equivalents. From just one look, “Cells at work” looks like some mindless fun somewhat based on the inner workings of the body but, no, this shit is DETAILED.
And the cast. People seem to be in love with the 2 main characters’ personalities and relationship (oh the shipping!). There’s also a nice secondary cast of characters surrounding them. The designs are all very distinct; White Blood Cell  U-1146′s full on white body gear and Red Blood Cell AE3803′s Red cap and jacket are already quite iconic and easily recognizable.
Listen, I personally didn’t get into Hataraku Saibou. It was a fun, educational albeit somewhat mediocre one time watch for me. BUT I’ve been part of big fandoms before and I can see the appeal. The cast is charming, the world is vast and the writing is full of creativity. If you’re even slightly interested in this anime, watch it! And hey, maybe it will suck you in just like it did with a bunch of other people. [6/10] (x)

if you want: (quite weak) horror/thriller / RPG maker game adaptation / unique chemistry between main characters / somewhat religion themed??
Gotta say that it’s been a while since I’ve seen something as incompetent as Satsuriku no Tenshi. This anime is an adaptation of a “horror” game that was created with RPG Maker. Now...people are capable of creating some great games with RPG Maker, I’ll not deny that. However, I’m pretty sure that everything that was lacking in the game got transferred over to the anime itself. I watched some short gameplay videos and the first thing most will notice is the quite weak dialogue.
I’ll start with the few positives I found. The story itself is quite intriguing, as it is the reason I gave this a watch. The chemistry between the main characters are unique and I didn’t find it sexualized either however the fandom generally seems to ship them which makes me wanna vomit as Rachel is 13 and Zack is 20 so it’s....ughhghghgh.
The Opening and especially the Ending track are quite nice and uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh... yeah. Now let’s talk about the BAD.
Character designs are incredibly generic and resemble a 12 year old’s DeviantArt OCs. The OST would be alright however the same tracks repeat over and over and over again and it drived me up the wall! The dialogue is incredibly bad. The characters have the exact same conversation at least every episode if not multiple times in an episode. And they lack pauses. As soon as the action stops someone starts talking even if what they’re saying is irrelevant and could’ve been left unsaid.
However, the worst offender is the pacing. The creaters of this anime completely failed in adapting a video game into a series. If you’ve played RPGs you’ll immediately notice the patterns the characters follow. Enter Room. Dialogue prompt which gives you quest. Go somewhere. Pick item/push button. Go back. Dialogue prompt. Repeat. There’s even a segment where they are solving a puzzle and while that part of the story was quite tense as important information was being revealed, I can imagine this working SO MUCH better in the game itself, where YOU are the one solving the puzzle while YOU are under pressure. In the anime version a huge part of the appeal is lost and it’s basically like watching an animated gameplay.
I’m seeing people praising this anime. I don’t get it this time, at all but whatever. Personally, I’d not recommend this anime. It’s a drag and a waste of time. (3/10) (3/10) (x) (x)

Final Summer 2018 ranking
Yama no Susume 3 - It started off kinda meh, but eventually grew into the series I loved. I kinda disliked the whole drama pandering that Hinata did throughout the latter half of the season, but I’m glad it worked out in the end 8.5/10
Steins;Gate 0 - I liked Steins;Gate 0, and how it pretty much ties into what happened in the original series, except... the ending. While I get how it needed to end that way, it pretty much just turns this into a season that I pretty much have no need to watch. I still love it though 8/10
Asobi Asobase - The cute girl doing cute things in a school club anime. This one actually has pretty decent jokes. The characters are incredbily forgettable, but at least I had pretty good laughs watching this. 7/10
Shoujo Kageki Revue Starlight- Quite possibly the most challenging anime I had to score. There are parts of the anime I throughly disliked, and other parts, I loved. It takes reference from similar series very well, namely, Utena/Penguindrum/Yurikuma, while also generating its own charm. That said, there is too much show for how little character growth we have for the characters. Ultimately, I never did find the lead duo endearing, in fact, their support cast of 7 are far more interesting. 7/10
Aikatsu Friends - I like the Friends cast. One of the biggest flaws of  7/10
Chio chan no Tsuugakuro - The usual “cute” girls doing cute things anime each season has, albeit with a not so cute girl. I’m just not big on gag anime, but this one has its moments. 6.5/10
Harukana Receive - Surprise package of the season, what looked to be just a pure fan service series actually has decent plot and character development. I mean, the fan service is great too, but it’s not the only reason to watch it. 6.5/10
Hugtto Precure -  I actually like this Precure now. It started off really rough, but the last season really brought the best out of the season. There are plenty of dark elements hidden beneath all that mahou shoujo goodness, including delving into bullying and sexuality, which is pretty unheard off in a kids’ anime. Hoping to see Hugtto end up among my top 5 Precures by the end of the series. 6.5/10
Cinderella Girls Gekijou 3 - Cinderella girls goodness 6.5/10
One Room 2 - 1st and 3rd girls are great. 2nd one, not so much. Overall, a good short cute girl series. 6/10
Hataraku Saibou - It started off a breath of fresh air, but by the end, it’s just a repeated plot of “red blood cell gets lost, germ attacks, white blood cell kills germs, rinse repeat”. I had hopes for this, but alas, it wasn’t meant to be. 6/10
Isekai Izakaya - Started off incredibly meh, ended off just meh. On the heels of the amazing world building of Isekai Shokudo, this one just doesn’t match up. It had the potential, but failed to fulfil any of it. 6/10
Grand Blue - Sure, I’ve gotten the occasional laugh, and the girls are cute, but man, I have no idea what the series is going for. A shounen slice of life just seems a little bit of an odd combination, and it’s even weirder how highly this is rated by so many others. It has its moments, but overall unsatisfying. 6/10
Persona 5 - The Persona series’ greatest strength was being immersed in the world that it takes place in. The previous anime series all fail to replicate that magic, and neither does this one. It’s just for fan service purposes. I’m kinda tempted to just drop it (I’m 3 episodes behind) 5.5/10
Free 3 - In what is probably the worst sequel in the long time, Free just manages to turn what was originally a pretty decent sports anime and turned it into a yaoi fest with minimal character development, just a bunch of bishounens. Ikuya, the primary emo kid of choice in this series, is the 3rd in a long line of repeated plot for the series. Worst part? There are so many sub groups now that many a time, they are forced to repeated explain to the other characters who the ones from the original series are. Just poor. And, to make things even worse, there’s a reveal of a sequel in 2020, just to milk what’s left of how bad the series has become. 5/10
Island - I have never played the VN, but from what I’ve seen, I’m sure the anime isn’t it. The anime is an awful mishmash of plot that tries to squeeze 50 hours if plot into 12 episodes, and we all know that’s gonna turn out well. None of the characters are likeable, and the suddenly shift into the future came out of no where, and ended just as abruptly. What a disaster. 4/10
Best girls:
Ozora Haruka (Harukana Receive)
Daiba Nana (Revue Starlight)
Hiyajo Maho (Steins;Gate 0)
Olivia (Asobi Asobase)
Amatsuki Mashiro (One Room 2)

★~ Shibuki (紫吹) Shi (紫) means purple, referring to her theme colour and Buki (吹) means to blow or spray.
Ran (蘭) means orchid. "Ran" is also a reference to "runway", as "run" in runway, and "ran" are pronounced the same in Japanese.
About:
Ran is a veteran idol who has been working in entertainment since she was young. She is well-known for her modeling and style even going as far as to challenge the saying "young models can't be beautiful" and through that has continued to polish her refined beauty. Ran is nicknamed "The Beautiful Blade" (美しき刃 Utsukushiki Yaiba), for her professional demeanor and beauty. Her favorite and primary brand is Spicy Ageha.
A while before Ichigo's and Aoi's transfer, Ran worked along side with her friend and roommate, Mako, at Starlight School. The two worked together to chase their dreams for becoming great idols. However, Ran advanced further than Mako did, which caused Mako to lose confidence in herself as an idol. And though Ran didn't blame her, Mako couldn't continue and dropped out of the academy, worrying that she would disappoint Ran and hold her back with her inexperienced skills. Ran was speechless after hearing this and seeing her leave. As a result of Mako's departure, Ran was filled with feelings of loss and loneliness, eventually causing her to become very serious, anti-social, and highly independent.
As Ran continues on as an idol, she later encounters Ichigo and Aoi, two best friends who've just recently enrolled in Starlight School. Ran became very skeptical of their friendship and notes that they won't be able to rise to the top together and that someday they will eventually split up. Despite the circumstances, Ran eventually became friends with Ichigo and Aoi and although Ran is somewhat reluctant with her decision at first, she later grew closer to them and found her ability to trust once more.
Ran is a quiet, independent girl with a professional air about her. She is multi-talented and mature but she has a short temper and does not like being pestered. Despite this, Ran is a kind person. She is humble about who she is as a person and idol, despite her popularity. She dislikes being nicknamed "Ran-chan" (蘭ちゃん) and prefers to just be known as "Ran." She doesn't eat sweets as she is concerned they will ruin her image.

Aikatsu On Parade Rewrite (Episode 6-10)
Tumblr media
So here we are again. Feel free to read part one first:https://precure-stuff.tumblr.com/post/615727361525202944/aikatsu-on-parade-rewrite Also this is basically fanfic at this point so feedback is greatly appreciated
Episode 6-
This happens just after Raki designs her first PR inspired by Elza.I’m also making this the halloween episode. Now that she’s left Venus Ark Yume asks her to perform a live with her and show off her PR. However when she enters the dressing room they end up in Starlight Academy. Yume is confused as she comes face to face with Akari. The two share a hug as Sumire walks in. She pulls out a tarot card and says she foresaw a fateful reunion in her morning reading. She makes a joke about spirits crossing over into worlds on this night. Raki explains her magical Aikatsu pass and leaves Yume and Akari to catch up. Sumire and Hinaki give her a tour of Starlight and she reveals she’s a designer. Hinaki mentions that Akari often inspires her muse Sena and suggests she should have a muse. Sumire says that there might be even more fateful encounters that day. The rest of the episode is Raki getting to know Luminas and Juri. The day ends with a festival where Akari and Mirai perform Identity. Raki is surprised to see top idol Mirai and mentions she’s a fan of Love Me Tear. She gains some respect for Akari being able to keep up with Mirai who she views as a top idol.
Tumblr media
Episode 7-
Since Aiparade is only 25 episodes, it makes a bit more sense to switch up characters A LOT. I’m not a better writer than the people behind an entire show but I can try. Anyway Raki wakes up in the Starlight Dorm and wonders where Akari and the rest went. She wanders out and crashes into Rin who was dancing on her way to class. Madoka apologizes on her behalf and they introduce themselves. Madoka mentions she’s been sleeping late practicing for an event and Rin merely wouldn’t sleep until she came back. They take Raki to Mitsusishi’s office where she tells her that she’ll be allowed to take part in the Starlight classes. Raki nods bluntly and Mitsuishi asks her if she’d rather opt out. Raki brings up that she’s lonely as she’s always being separated from her friends. Mitsuishi remarks that she understands her, as when she was in Masquerade she was lonely often as she practiced a lot and outside Ringo, she didn’t have anyone else. Raki apologizes and says she didn’t mean to be selfish. Mitsuishi tells her it’s okay to vent. She joins the rest in class and we get to see Rin and Madoka perform their solos. Seeing their friendship makes Raki realise the importance of bonds. She ends the episode by befriending to Rin and Madoka.
Tumblr media
Episode 8-
It’s Ichigo time. Rin, Madoka and Raki are enjoying the Starlight Cafe sweets and notice Madoka isn’t eating any. Rin asks her whether she’s okay and Madoka mentions that she’s worried about the event. Raki realises she hasn’t asked about it even once and shyly prods Madoka about it. Madoka says that her grandmother, Designer Amahane is visiting Starlight Academy and there will be an event held in her honor. The event will show off Angely Sugar and include performances from both her and Ichigo. Hearing Ichigo brings Akari over who begins to rave about Ichigo surpassing Mizuki and inspiring her. Yume also arrives with a huge strawberry shortcake. She mentions that she wishes Koharu were with them to see all the coords in Starlight. Yume and Akari offer to practice with Madoka and Raki joins them. The four lovely types work out in a montage and decide to warp it up by running laps. Raki isn’t nearly as fast and stops to catch her breath. Once again she feels incapable and squats to catch her breath. She looks up to see a bottle of water thrust in her face. She sits down by her to listen to her problem. Ichigo uses a quote Mizuki told her in episode 28. “It may be unimaginable to compare yourslef to something greater than you. But as long as you hold on to it, maybe then you’ll be 10 times greater than what you wanted to be at first.” As their talk comes to a close, the girls head to the event. Ichigo performs first “Idol Activity” with Akari. Madoka is up next but is still nervous about performing right after Ichigo. Raki comes to comfort her with Rin and offers to perform with her. She tells Madoka what Ichigo told her and the two perform “Hello New World” Raki wears the Sweet Gingham coord(pictured above) and Madoka wears her PR. They perform their individual appeals and Amahane(the designer) says seeing the two of them together gave her a spark of inspiration. Ichigo also offers to buy them all parfaits afterward.

Episode 9-
This episode opens with Reflect Moon arriving at Starlight Academy. Kaguya is hesitant to enter and suggests they do a reading. Kaguya and Sakuya come to the same conclusion. Their fate is to meet another pair with a strong bond between them. You see where I’m going with this. The duo encounter Yurika and Kaede and the four get acquainted. Sakuya mentions that they’re looking for Raki who has been missing school. Yurika is unaware who she is but Kaede insists they have to help them look. Yurika reluctantly agrees and the search begins. When RM mention that they came from the moon Yurika retorts that she is a vampire far older than the moon. Kaede eventually finds Raki and jumps out of a window to catch her. Shining Takeoff Event Scenario Ep 1-3
Episode 1
[Sound of music outside Mizuki's studio]
Honoka: Here, good job.
Yurika&Kaede: Phew~…
Honoka: To think you guys can already rehearse this well together. I'm impressed.
Kaede: Thank you, Honoka. But…
Yurika: Yes, it's still not good enough.
Honoka: I see...What do you think, Mizuki?
Mizuki: Let's see...Well, let's put practice to an end today.
Yurika&Kaede: !
Kaede: Why? Mizuki! It's not everyday all three of us can have practice together!
Yurika: Yes, you said we should practice until we're satisfied…
Mizuki: Both of you worked hard to make time for practice even though you're so busy, right? But as for your physical conditions...Well?
Yurika&Kaede: Ack…
Mizuki: I don't think forcing yourself right now will lead to a good performance.
Kaede: Right...Sorry, Mizuki. I'm no good today.
Yurika: This is embarrassing...I can't believe I can't move how I want this much…
Honoka: Looks like your full schedules are haunting you…But I think you guys are keeping up with Mizuki's dancing just fine…
Kaede: We're Tristar, so.
Yurika: So...We can't just be keeping up with Mizuki-san.
Mizuki: …! ...Oh, right…! You guys...Do you want to get more into shape...No, do you want to grow even more as an idol?
Yurika: Of course!
Kaede: There's only one answer to that!
Mizuki: I see...Hehe. Looks like we're ready to move onto the next step.
Kaede: Mizuki…?
Yurika: The next step…?
Mizuki: Well…
[Live Simulation]
Raichi: M-Mom! Over here! Hurry!
Ringo: What are you in such a rush for? What's up?
Raichi: This is big news! Look, an emergency press conference for Tristar!
Ringo: Tristar...Ooh, Mizuki Kanzaki, right?
Raichi: Yeah! This just smells of a scoop~!
Ringo: Oh my, that's exciting.
Raichi: Yeah! Oh, it's starting!
[Scene Transition]
Mizuki: Everyone, thank you for coming today. This is sudden, but we would like to tell you of an upcoming event.
Journalist: An upcoming event, you say…?
Mizuki: Yes, and it's...An Aikatsu! Boot Camp by us, Tristar...We would like to announce here the beginning of Special Aikatsu! Boot Camp!
Journalists: Oooh~!!
Yurika: (Whaat!? That Aikatsu! Boot Camp…!?)
Kaede: (The one that's super tough! Wow, sounds fun♪)
Mizuki: It'll be an intensive course for two days, and Headmistress Orihime kindly offered to host it at Starlight Academy. Anyone who has the will to grow as an idol can participate, but the content is passed down straight from Sgt. Pepper from Aikatsu! Boot Camp. I'm sure it'll be a tough special lesson.
Journalist: W-Will people actually voluntarily participate in such a tough camp?
Mizuki: Hehe, we will see. But, I believe...That this camp will definitely be a step forward for an idol's growth. And, us Tristar will…
Yurika&Kaede: …!!
Mizuki: Finish the camp with all three of us...And have a live on the final day to have everyone see how much we've grown!
Journalist: What!? Does that mean you'll be performing right after the camp!?
Mizuki: Yes! The camp itself and the live will be broadcast on TV, as well.
Journalist: This will be quite the big event! I think it'll be tough but what do you two think?
Yurika: Who do you think you are questioning? There is no problem! We're Tristar!
Kaede: Yes! We'll pass it with flying colours, so look forward to it♪
Journalists: Ooh~!!
Mizuki: Hehe♪ Like she said. Please look forward to it!
[Scene Transition]
Raichi: Wow, I can't believe they're having a Special Aikatsu! Boot Camp and a live! This is big news! I gotta prepare an extra ASAP!
Ringo: Hehe, that's Mizuki-chan for you...So she's going to lead the Aikatsu! World into the next stage again.
Episode 2
Mikuru: Mizuki, Mizuki~!
Mizuki: Oh, welcome, Mikuru. Want some tea?
Mikuru: Oh, yeah, thanks...Wait! No! I saw your press conference! Aikatsu! Boot Camp!
Kaede: You watched, too? Then wanna join us?
Yurika: That sounds great! It'll be even more exciting if Mikuru-san joins!
Mikuru: About that~! Why didn't you tell me earlier~!
Mizuki: Oh? So that means…
Mikuru: Yeah, I have work so I can't participate~…
Mizuki: I see. That's kinda unfortunate, huh?
Mikuru: Yeah, but you said before that it was really tough training, so I dunno if I feel like I wanna join or not...Mmmm~…But I guess I wanna try joining! Mizuki! Make sure to have it again at a time I can join!
Yurika: Again...Will there be a next time, Mizuki-san?
Mizuki: Well...I never thought about it. It's not like I thought that long about this one, either, so…
Kaede: Yeah, that's right, Mizuki! Why did you wanna have a boot camp all of the sudden?
Yurika: Oh...Is this the next step you were talking about during practice…?
Mizuki: Yes, that's right...You two looked so frustrated...And then I thought of a boot camp for busy idols.
Kaede: I see...Thank you, Mizuki! We can hit two birds with one stone by working out and increasing teamwork!
Yurika: Yes! I'll definitely finish it to the end!
Mikuru: But that's not the end of it, right!? At the end, Tristar's gonna…!
Mizuki: Yeah, it's not like we have a camp all the time. If we're doing this, wouldn't we want proof that we've grown?
Kaede: The last stage, huh!
Mizuki: ...Before that, I was thinking of preparing one more trial.
Yurika: A trial…?
Mizuki: Yes, that's right...I prepared cliff climbing as the last menu for the camp!
Mikuru: Cliff climbing…! And then a live right after that, huh...That seems like really hard Aikatsu!…
Mizuki: Yeah...But, that's exactly why…
Kaede: Very nice, Mizuki! I'm so excited now!
Yurika: Though it's not really enough for I, Yurika-sama.
Mizuki: Hehe...Let us, Tristar, show everyone the best live ever!
Yurika&Kaede: Yes!
Mikuru: ...Aww~ I wanna join, too~!
Episode 3
Student A: Hey, hey, what should we do!? Should we participate!?
Student B: I'm kinda scared, but...I wanna try…!
Student A: Yeah, let's do our best~!
Sumire: Heehee, looks like they're all going to participate in Kanzaki-senpai's boot camp. Oh yeah, you participated in Sgt. Pepper's boot camp before, right? What are you gonna do this time?
Akari: Ugh...The log, the log…
Sumire: Huh, log…?
Akari: I-It's nothing...They don't know how extreme it is, so...No...But it was because of that camp that I grew, so!
Sumire: Akari-chan? Are you okay?
Akari: ...Okay, I've decided, Sumire-chan! I'm gonna join, too!
Sumire: Heehee, I knew you would say that! I was thinking of joining, too! Let's do our best together, Akari-chan.
Akari: Yeah♪
[Scene Transition]
Nono: Look, look, Risappe! Here it is, the flyer for the boot camp!
Risa: Yeah! A boot camp held by that Mizuki Kanzaki…! There's not many chances to do Aikatsu! with our seniors...Nonocchi, I was thinking of joining the camp!
Nono: Sounds great! You admire Mizuki-san so much, right? Alright~! If Risappe's joining then I'm joining, too! Let's do our best to get even an inch closer to our seniors!
Risa: Nonocchi…Yeah! Let's do our best!
Nono: Yeah~♪
[Scene Transition]
Ran: Ummmm~…Ichigo and Aoi are joining in from Day 2, huh…Then I'll join on Day 1...Woah, Hikari!
Hikari: Oh, Ran. You're gonna join, too?
Ran: Yeah, long time no see. It sure is rare for you to join.
Hikari: Hard work is needed for me to stay the way that my fans wish for, you know? It's not like it's for a unit audition. Though I have work so I can only be in the first day.
Ran: I see...Ichigo and Aoi can only be in Day 2, too. I was just thinking Day 1 was lacking some competition for me.
Hikari: I see...Then looks like you'll be able to have a lot of fun, huh?
Ran: Yeah...You and me, both.
Ran&Hikari: Hehe…
[Live Simulation]
PowaPuri: PowaPowa Puririn, Powa-ri~ng up!
Otome: Yes, it's finally starting♪
Sakura: The Special Aikatsu! Boot Camp held by Tristar!
Shion: Starlight Academy, where it's hosted, is full of idols participating in the camp.
Sakura: Everyone has very determined expressions on their faces. We can really feel their passion.
Otome: Aw~ I wanted us to be in it, too~
Sakura: Yes, Otome-sama. We wanted to be in it, too, but…
Shion: We're here participating as emcees today!
Otome: Yes, I'm sad we can't participate, but I'm happy that I can be an emcee♪
Shion: Yeah! Plus, our selling point is our loose and relaxed atmosphere. I guess it's...A good thing that we're not in the camp and showing our not loose and relaxed selves on camera?
Otome: No, no♪ It's fine even if we were on camera. Because idols doing their best are so love you~♪
Sakura: Yes, that's right, Otome-sama!
Shion: I see...I guess that's true!
Sakura: And, let us finish our opening talk here...And have our hosts, Tristar, say a few words.
Yurika: Everyone! Are you ready!?
Participants: Yes!
Yurika: There's no doubt a tough training lies ahead of us...I recommend you to do your stretches properly! If you neglect it and get hurt, I'll suck your blood~!
Shion: Thank you! Then next is Kaede-chan, if you please!
Kaede: Okay~! Mizuki's always thinking of such fun things. This is a challenge from Mizuki to us. Guys! Let's breeze through this and surprise Mizuki!
Participants: Yeah~!
Sakura: Thank you very much. Then, lastly, Mizuki-san, if you please.
Mizuki: There are so many idols gathered here today...I'm very happy. I'll spare you the talk. It's enough if you can find and feel something from this camp. Alright, then...Everyone! Are you ready to shine!? Special Aikatsu! Boot Camp...Start!!
Participants: Yay~~~!!
