Exam Lifehacks: When You Still Have a Month Left
Tumblr media
i know lot of people did this before, but i like the visual poster so yeah here yo go, with my kind of words tho:
Music is Instrumental
most of us like to listen to music while studying, when some people dont. but let me tell you, it helped me a lot to get focus on what im studying. you could choose yourself the genre(s) you like because this is super subjective. i personally dont like slow music, yes all those ambient and classical also video game soundtracks! (even the video game soundtracks are upbeat ha still no.) ive tried it before but it ended up with my head upside my books and im in the dreamland yall. in the picture it suggests you to choose between these genres:
- downtempo
- post rock
- ambient
- classical
- instrumental hiphop
- video game soundtracks
- movie scores
- deep house
but here you go all i’ll give you my personal choice of playlist while studying! (spotify only)
Punk Goes Pop Vol. 1-6
Hardstyle Baby
Zoedic 2017
A Sudden Rainstorm (yes i love hearing the sound of a rain! imagining the smell of the road when its raining~ how lovely)
Pomodoro Technique
this technique is basically everywhere. but i dont really use this pomodoro since im such an unplanned person (i do get rest whenever i want lol) but i’ll try this technique more! ive read lot of masterposts said it works! so i guess i dont really have to explain what is this technique.
Distraction Apps
Forest: Stay Focused, Be Present
personally my fav because theres still the whitelists i really need to, like LINE and Browser. and its cute omg who doesnt like to plant a tree?
SelfControl
block spesific websites for up to 24 hours; unfortunately Mac user only.
Cold Turkey
“Cold turkey” describes the abrupt cessation of a substance dependence and the resulting unpleasant experience, as opposed to gradually easing the process through reduction over time or by using replacement medication. hah lol nah thats a wikipedia description lol sorry im such an awkward;( yeah it blocks spesific websites for a scheduled time, this app? offers lot of features.
Freedom
it prevents from using internet at all. paid but theres a free trial.
i dont really know the others since the only thing i use for this is Forest, yay to Forest *cheers*!
The Seinfeld X Technique
its basically just dont break the habits challenge! with all the x-s in your calendar or bullet journal or monthly spread or everything you want to! which you use for studying.
Light Exercise
wow? do anyone really exercise while studying? oh god… how (ok this makes nonsense)
but here’s what the pic tells to do while studying (dont do all choose one i know you dont have thousand legs and thousand arms)
- treadmill
- stationary bike
- chair squats
- abdominal lifts
- trapezius squeeze
- bicep curls
goodluck if you trying this method ok i dont have any idea what those things are lol (sorry another nonsense)
Change of Scenery
… Many study skills courses insist that students find a specific place, a study room or a quiet corner of the library, to take their work. The research finds just the opposite. In one classic 1978 experiment, psychologists found that college students who studied a list of 40 vocabulary words in two different rooms - one windowless and cluttered, the other modern, with a view on a courtyard - did far better on a test than students who studied the words twice, in the same room. Later studies have confirmed the finding, for a variety of topics.
The brain makes subtle associations between what it is studying and the background sensations it has at the time, the authors say, regardless of whether those perceptions are conscious. It colors the terms of the Versailles Treaty with the wasted fluorescent glow of the dorm study room, say; or the elements of the Marshall Plan with the jade-curtain shade of the willow tree in the backyard. Forcing the brain to make multiple associations with the same material may, in effect, give that information more neural scaffolding.
“What we think is happening here is that, when the outside context is varied, the information is enriched, and this slows down forgetting,” said Dr. Bjork, the senior author of the two-room experiment.
GODNESS i sound so smart lol nah i dont know how to explain so i search that for yall, source is here. but the warning is unbelievably true! do not study on that comfort zone because it brings you to your lovely neverland aka sleep, i usually sit on a woody chair or just sit on the floor (but sometimes in bed too but this require much willing to study.)
—-thank you for reading this! i hope it helps somehow, i love yall
oh and…
