Heyyy everyone!
Dropping the next Sketch-a-Wish, frequently requested by my lovely Patreon members. Featuring Isobel and Rook from AN ENCHANTMENT OF RAVENS by Margaret Rogerson
I had such fond memories of reading this stand-alone a while back, but completely forgot about this little exchange between these two (over a consequential teapot). The room has leaves falling, but imagined how magical it would be to have them falling from a canopy all through the night (with a magical clean-up in the morning).
This has been added to shop along with my other collection of Margaret Rogerson prints!

Heroines of Margaret Rogerson's books fanart!
Read these books if you enjoy a beautifully crafted writing style, worldbuilding, and characters! They are all such unique gems that have interesting distinct worlds, and I need more people to talk about them. 😂
Artemisia from Vespertine, Isobel from An Enchantment of Ravens, and Elizabeth from A Sorcery of Thorns.

I read An Enchantment of Ravens all in one day and immediately wanted to sketch out the Fair Folk's true forms underneath all that glamour. (But mostly I was in the mood to draw some sharp teefs and a face only a mother a skilled portraitist could love.) Took some heavy inspiration from Murnau's Nosferatu, Brian Froud's art, and every monstrous character Doug Jones has ever played. Bonus sketch below because I couldn't stop myself.

"his inhuman scent enveloped me: a ferny green fragrance of spring leaves, the sweet perfume of wildflowers. Beneath that, something wild—something that had roamed the forest for millennia, and had long spidery fingers that could crush a human’s throat while its owner wore a cordial smile."

“Isobel, I love you wholly. I love you eternally. I love you so dearly it frightens me. I fear I could not live without you. I could see your face every morning upon waking for ten thousand years and still look forward to the next as though it were the first.”
