Innovative Tools for Sustainable Agriculture & Carbon Removal
As the climate crisis accelerates, the agricultural sector finds itself at a pivotal crossroads. Conventional farming practices, once essential for feeding growing populations, are now seen as major contributors to greenhouse gas emissions. In response, a transformative shift toward sustainable agriculture is emergingânot just to reduce harm, but to heal the planet. At the forefront of this evolution is the dual goal of growing food responsibly while removing carbon from the atmosphere. Sustainable agriculture & carbon removal are no longer separate concepts but part of a vital, unified strategy to ensure food security and climate resilience.
The Role of Agriculture in Climate Change Agriculture accounts for a significant percentage of global greenhouse gas emissions, primarily from methane released by livestock and nitrous oxide from fertilized soils. Deforestation for farmland and the use of fossil-fuel-based machinery only compound the issue. Yet, agriculture also holds incredible potential to reverse this damage. When strategically managed, farms can act as carbon sinks, absorbing more carbon than they emit and transforming from contributors to solutions.
Sustainable Agriculture Practices That Support Carbon Removal Sustainable agriculture is not just about minimizing environmental harm but also about enhancing soil health, promoting biodiversity, and capturing atmospheric carbon. Practices such as no-till farming, cover cropping, crop rotation, and organic fertilization are key components. These methods not only reduce emissions but actively promote soil carbon storage, making them central to modern climate-smart agriculture.
Carbon Sequestration: The Soil as a Climate Ally Healthy soils are rich in organic matter and act as powerful carbon sinks. By encouraging microbial activity and minimizing soil disturbance, farmers can enhance the ability of their fields to trap carbon for decades. Composting and the use of natural mulches further enrich soil organic content, boosting its carbon-holding capacity and overall fertility.
Agroforestry, Biochar, and Regenerative Techniques Agroforestry integrates trees with crops and livestock, promoting carbon capture through root systems and canopy coverage. Biochar, a form of charcoal added to soil, locks carbon away while improving soil structure. Regenerative agriculture combines multiple sustainable practices to rebuild topsoil, restore biodiversity, and enhance water cycles, offering a comprehensive framework for carbon-negative farming.
Technology and Innovation in Sustainable Agriculture Modern tools like satellite monitoring, AI-driven crop management, and blockchain for supply chain transparency are accelerating the shift to sustainable agriculture. These technologies help farmers optimize resource use, predict yields more accurately, and measure carbon outcomes. Precision agriculture allows for tailored interventions that support sustainability without sacrificing productivity.
Policy and Global Collaboration Government incentives, international agreements, and private investments are critical in scaling sustainable agriculture & carbon removal solutions. Programs that reward carbon farming, support renewable energy integration, and finance green infrastructure are gaining traction. Countries are increasingly incorporating soil health and sustainable land use into their climate strategies, reflecting a global shift in priorities.
Challenges and the Path Forward Despite its promise, the transition to sustainable agriculture faces challenges including financial barriers, lack of awareness, and resistance to change in traditional farming communities. Overcoming these hurdles requires education, policy support, and collaboration across sectors. Continued research, farmer training, and accessible tools are essential to make sustainable practices the global norm.

Conclusion Sustainable agriculture & carbon removal are not mere trends; they are essential pathways for securing the planetâs future. By shifting our agricultural systems toward practices that heal rather than harm, we can feed a growing population while pulling harmful carbon from the atmosphere. It is a solution that not only sustains but regenerates, paving the way for a healthier planet and a more resilient food system.

Resolution to Expand the Pleasure House Point Natural Area
Whereas the Pleasure House Point area provides a durable and resilient natural separation between Crab Creek and the developed areas of Ocean Park. Virginia Beach is at risk from more frequent recurring flooding due to the effects of sea level rise. While the City is evaluating flood mitigating infrastructure projects that could actively reduce the risk of flooding in Ocean Park, Ocean Parkâs current flood risk can be best maintained by continuing to preserve the Pleasure House Point Natural Area. Pleasure House Point Natural Area is a vital environmental asset and community resource for the city of Virginia Beach. Environmentally, its expansive tidal wetlands contribute to the biodiversity and health of the ecosystem by providing habitat for numerous birds, fish, and other wildlife, including species of conservation concern. These wetlands naturally filter pollutants, improving water quality in the Lynnhaven River and the Chesapeake Bay watersheds. It offers natural flood protection by absorbing stormwater and tidal surges, which is crucial in safeguarding nearby neighborhoods and infrastructure from stormwater flooding and sea level rise, thereby protecting the community. For visitors and residents, Pleasure House Point offers substantial open space and canopy trees, allowing for a variety of recreational opportunities, including nature observation, fishing, and birdwatching. Privately held properties adjacent to Pleasure House Point Natural Area are essential for protecting its ecological value and public benefits.
Now, therefore, be it resolved that the Ocean Park Civic League encourages city, state, and federal agencies to prioritize the voluntary conservation of properties adjacent to Pleasure House Point Natural Area. Supports efforts by conservation groups and philanthropists to acquire land or secure conservation easements through incentives and partnerships. Invites property owners to consider voluntary conservation agreements, such as easements or restoration projects, while fully respecting their development rights. Recommends using tax incentives and grant programs to make conservation attractive and feasible.

All,
First, I would like to thank you all for taking time to meet with Wes and me last week. As discussed, I write to let you know that today we finalized our review concluding that the proposed work in Waters of the US associated with the development of the Pleasure House Point Mitigation Bank meets the terms and conditions of the Nationwide Permit #27 and is authorized pursuant to that permit. In addition, the activities in Waters of the US associated with the proposed construction of the pedestrian bridge along the existing trail, meets the terms and conditions of the Nationwide Permit #18 and is authorized pursuant to that permit. The impacts authorized under NWP # 27 will facilitate a net increase in aquatic resources by restoring a large portion of a historic dredged material disposal area to tidal wetlands and subaqueous bottom naturally occurring in the area. Both these permits, and the previously approve Mitigation Banking Instrument are conditioned to ensure the project meets its intended purpose, and will be regularly inspected as the restoration progresses. Thank you again for your time and interest in this project and our program.

âAttention everyone! Yes, this way, over here! Thank you.â In the Divine Orderâs main hall, a young woman had perched herself at a podium. Garbed in gold and blue, with long, dark brown hair trailing, elaborate jewelry and armor decorated with shimmering cobalt gems... she truly looked like a dramatic figure straight out of any fantasy novel. Most knew this woman as the Goddess of Destiny, but many others called her the Seer, or even Creator. However, her regal appearance clashed terribly with an incredibly strained expression; if one didnât know better, they might suspect sheâd gone quite a few nights without any sleep at all.
    Then again, maybe she had.
âYes, good, letâs get started. I have a few announcements to make-- come now,â she added quickly, spotting a young swordsman trying to duck out of sight, âStay put, itâs important. Yes, much better. Now, where was I...â A scuffle was audible in the back, and the woman rubbed one hand over her face. âKris, if youâre having trouble seeing please come to the front instead of attempting to climb on people, I know youâre rather small but--â
    âWHOâRE YOU CALLING A--â
âAS I WAS SAYING,â the Seer interrupted what could only be an Edward Elric alternate mid-rant, âIt seems there have been some... Disturbances as of late.â
âDo ya mean... A disturbance in the force?â called out Sylvia from the front. âJust kidding, just kidding-!â The Seer made a mental note to take a very, very relaxing vacation as soon as the current situation had resolved itself-- which, alas, she suspected would take quite a long while.
âIt seems that the Ether have been making a number of big moves lately,â the Seer resumed firmly, âAnd in addition, an unknown entity has been detected traveling through... Well, what we can only refer to as âdigitalâ worlds at this point in time.â Some murmurs of confusion could be heard among the gathered crowd; what did that even mean..? Some were so new to technology that the very word threw them for a loop.
âDigital worlds?â This time it was a veteran who spoke up, Gregor taking a step forward with a noticeable clank of his dark armor. âDo you mean... Game worlds? Like World of Warcraft or something? Or more like computer programs that think?â Admittedly he was having a bit of trouble trying to visualize such a thing; was there a timeline with sentient versions of Firefox? Gregor didnât like the sound of that.
âItâs a bit more complex than that,â she admitted, âAnd weâre still learning as we go. Kris is from one such world, a timeline with a digital framework built into its very function. Based on what Sylvia has been able to glean, that is why a number of their abilities arenât functional here; we lack the substance to our timeline which allows their powers to work.â Perched atop someoneâs shoulders despite the Seerâs instructions, the teen gave a nod of understanding... Even though they still didnât really get it at all.
âEither way,â the Goddess continued, âA number of anomalies have originated from within such worlds, and some exceptionally strong energy signatures have been detected as a result. Not all seem to be Ethereal in origin, and as such, the situation is still unclear. However... This is also causing a high number of distortions, which in turn means a large amount of tears in reality.â
As expected, the murmurs started once more. âThe Galvans and Erwick are currently working on tracking these tears,â concluded the Seer quietly, âBut odds are we will be needing to send out a number of scouts to such locations, along with investigating the structure of these timelines. But, be warned.â A deadly serious expression crossed her face.
âIf you encounter such an entity, or believe that you have, leave the timeline immediately, and travel somewhere... Non-digital. While itâs unclear what these forces are capable of, it seems they could be extremely dangerous. Do not engage them until we know what we are dealing with, understood?â
While some agreement and acknowledgement could be heard, the Seer knew deep down that such an altercation was likely inevitable... All she hoped was that it wouldnât result in any casualties.
âThat is all for now, youâre free to go.â With that she left the group behind, catching Sylvia by the shoulder. âNow, I think itâs time to discuss those... Failsafes you mentioned.â
                                                             -
This is the place, huh? A figure peered through the forest at a large castle, crimson gaze glinting eerily through shaggy, unkempt bangs. Leaned against a rough tree trunk with both hands stuffed into the pockets of a worn striped jacket, their slouched posture seemed quite relaxed and content... A sharp contrast to the deadly focus that lingered just under the surface. You sure theyâre in there, partner?
Correct, answered a firm, decisive voice within the strange teenâs head. But there seems to be an odd energy field surrounding the entire residence. In addition, this timeline is... Unusual. It seems to lack a structure of code, limiting my abilities. It does not have any Save files either. If we engage in a fight here, we will be at a grave disadvantage. The entity straightened slightly, a hint of annoyance wrinkling their nose.
What do we do then? Wait for the kid to come out? Their odd, disembodied partner seemed to make an amused snort at that.
We will need to make plans to separate them from this place. For now, there is nothing more to do here. Take us back, we cannot risk being detected. Those inhuman eyes flicked back to the building one last time, before reluctantly tearing their focus away. Fingers stretched and clenched in their pockets, they were so close... And yet so very far.
Fine. With that, Reaper strode into the shadows beneath those towering canopies, vanishing into a faint flicker of pixels like a digital ghost.
No one got away from the demon who comes when you call their name...

What is ISO 45001 Certification in Kuwait?
What is ISO 45001 Certification in Kuwait?
ISO 45001 Certfication in Kuwait may be a world commonplace for activity safety and health management systems that gives sensible solutions for employee safety. It will facilitate produce {a world|a worldwide|a world} foundation of employee safety standards and inspections that may be employed by all global provide chains, for all industries and canopy contractors and subcontractors in each country {that provide|that provide|that offer} product into these supply chains.
 What Will ISO 45001 Do?
This commonplace can give a framework from that OSH objectives may be effectively managed. as an example, it will serve the wants of these WHO manage, use or like world provide chains. even as ISO 9000 and ISO 14000 Â Consultant in Kuwait have provided agreement solutions to queries of quality management and environmental protection within the world marketplace, ISO 45001 can facilitate drive solutions for rising employee safety across the world.
In this time of amendment for the standards community, OSH professionals could raise themselves âwhat do I do next?â The steps below define the measures that safety professionals will fancy begin implementing ISO 45001.
 1. perceive OHSMS and ISO 45001
The first step in implementing ISO 45001, or any commonplace for that matter, is knowing its purpose and the way it will profit a company.
âStart by building your information on what a management system is and the way you'll be able to leverage it to learn staff moreover because the organization to enhance health and safety performance and risk management,â says Vic Toy, CSP, CIH and chair of the U.S. Technical consultatory cluster (TAG) on ISO 45001.
Safety professionals ought to conjointly take this chance to acquaint themselves with ISO 45001 and its needs. the quality provides eleven success factors for the implementation of AN OHSMS, which might give steering on however it may be allotted.
With deeper information of OHSMS and ISO 45001 Audit in Kuwait, safety professionals will develop a robust business case for why their organizations ought to implement the quality. By understanding ISO 45001 needs, safety professionals will gain insight into the impact the quality will wear the companyâs bottom line, and communicate that to executives.
âOSH professionals ought to perceive the business impact of the mixing of this commonplace on industrial excellence,â says Kathy Seabrook, CSP, CFIOSH, EurOSHM and vice chair of the U.S. tack on ISO 45001. âIt may be a competitive advantage, and organizations WHO perceive a way to leverage it'll surmount their competitors.â
 2. Examine your current system
To understand however ISO 45001 Services in Kuwait can match into a security management system, it's necessary to look at what standards and systems area unit already in situ. as an example, some organizations have adopted ISO 9001 (quality) and ISO 14001 (environment), that contain constant core language as ISO 45001. If a company is already exploitation ISO 9000 and ISO 14001 and is acquainted with this management system approach, integration of 45001 becomes a lot of less advanced and also the transition may be created a lot of seamlessly.
 3. Have interaction with stakeholders
Safety professionals ought to perceive that implementing ISO 45001 could lead on to AN structure amendment. like any amendment, people and teams are affected during a form of ways that. Some is also in favor of the amendment, whereas others is also opposed. Therefore, safety professionals ought to gather input from the complete organization and perceive the various views that folks have concerning safety and health risks.
âBased on AN understanding of various views,â says Toy, âyou can then have a decent place to start out to conduct a spot analysis supported not simply the necessities within the commonplace however, more so, what your objectives ought to be for your OHSMS.â
Beyond gathering data on totally different views, participating with stakeholders conjointly helps foster a culture wherever everybody feels a way of possession within the safety management system.
âThis is a chance to develop leaders inside a company,â explains Seabrook. âFrom the employee WHO is building the bridge, or the linesman playing the lockout/tagout, all the high to the board of administrators, ISO 45001 establishes that everybody encompasses a role, a responsibility ANd possession of safety through an responsibility system.â
It is conjointly crucial at this stage to interact with leadership and educate them on why they will wish to implement ISO 45001. Safety professionals ought to notify executives the operational ANd monetary impacts of implementing such a system in order that they will create an au fait call.

[Chapter One]
[next]
summary: The locals are strange and thereâs something about the lake that just does not sit right with her. Odd shapes caught in photos and eyes under the water - Sakura isnât so sure she wants to get to the bottom of this mystery.
pairings:Â KisaSaku, ChojuSaku, SuiSaku, possible? ZabuSaku, and some platonic HakuSaku. maybe some others by the end.
notes: a small spooky fic im doing for halloween, featuring some kiri boys and sakuraaaa. hope you enjoy!
âAnd youâre sure none of the neighbors are secretly axe murderers, one wrong word away from chopping me up and using the bits for fish bait?â
A pause.
âItâs a left onto Greengrove, right?â Sakura frowned at her windshield, squinting at an upcoming sign and waited for a reply. She nudged her scarf down slightly and pursed her lips, resisting the urge to tap her phone screen and make sure the call hadnât ended.
âWell, Zabuza has definitely killed a man, but I canât vouch for the others. And, yes, a left onto Greengrove.â
âHakuuu!â She could hear his laugh through the speakers of her car and she shot a glare down at her cell, groaning under her breath while she could practically hear the amused smile in his voice. âIâm being serious, Haku. If I get murdered, my death is on your hands.â
Sheâd been driving for a little over three and a half hours, the city and her cozy apartment far behind as she traveled deeper into the countryside and into the woods. The sun was high in the sky by now, the rays breaking through the canopy overhead and dotting her path with pretty beams, but each glimpse of the sky she spotted was marbled with the bleak colors of a November chill. The road she was following was fairly well-maintained and the small town sheâd passed through only about ten minutes ago, before entering the forest proper, had seemed relatively pleasant enough, but it had been nearly a year since her last visit to Hakuâs lakehouse and she still insisted that the location was spooky.
Lake Kiri, oh so appropriately named, was perpetually shrouded in mist and fog, rarely clearing even in the middle of summer, and she was not looking forward to housesitting the lakeside home for three weeks. But, she owed her friend a favor and the location could provide some nice shots for her portfolio.
Adjusting the heater, Sakura turned onto the next road and allowed her frown to deepen, imagining the pretty young manâs amused face clearly in her mind.
âIâm just joking, Sakura; donât worry.â He gave another muffled chuckle at her derisive snort and continued. âZabuza is ex-military and my other neighbor is a police officer. Even if a serial killer were to pop up on the lake, youâd be perfectly safe.â
She held back her mumble of âI bet the cop thing is just an act and they keep their victims in their basement,â and sighed, continuing down the road until it branched again. Flicking on her blinker on reflex, Sakura turned right onto a well-tread rocky road and took a sip of lukewarm coffee from her thermos.
âFine, but Iâm not socializing with the locals.â
âAw,â Came Hakuâs equally pretty voice, âIâm sure youâll like Zabuza well enough when you meet him. Heâs supposed to drop off a- Oh!â
She glanced down at her phone when he cut himself off suddenly, both wondering what had caught his attention and what heâd meant by meeting one of his neighbors.
âI think I see your car! Iâll meet you outside, hang on.â
Sakura could only let out a short hum of agreement before Haku ended the call and she broke through the tree line.
The road melted into a driveway that led up to the nice-looking house, the lawn lush with green grass and a few trees standing tall outside the building. Behind it, Sakura could see the lake â her lips thinning at the sight of rolling wisps of fog â and the small boathouse off to the side. The ground sloped up slightly, leading to the house, and Sakura could vividly remember the living room inside that looked out over the lake, part of the house supported by sturdy framework as it extended out over the water. Just as heâd said, Haku was waiting outside, standing on the porch and waving in greeting as she pulled up next to his jeep.
He quickly ran towards her when she parked, skipping the last two steps, a bright smile on his face and his enviously-long, black hair pulled up into a bun. The moment she stepped out of her car, she was tackled into a hug and nearly knocked over by the taller boy.
âItâs so good to see you!â A pause as he pulled back to look her over, holding her at armâs-length. âYou cut your hair!â
Smiling sheepishly, Sakura reached up to run her fingers through her pixie cut before dropping her hand to play with her scarf. âItâs only been a month since you were in Konoha! And, yeah, the hair is... well, itâs new.â
Haku gave a soft laugh and reached up to ruffle her hair, his brown eyes sparkling and excited.
âI like it! Itâs cute.â At her pleased smile, he continued. âAnd I only got to visit for a day last time. I missed you, Sakura.â
Bright smile returning, Haku quickly pulled her close for another hug and pecked her cheek before moving to help her grab her luggage, chatting happily as they approached his house.
âIâve got a couple hours before I need to get going so we can hang out for a bit, and, I promise, Iâll treat you to dinner as thanks when I get back.â
âSounds like a deal.â Bulky camera bag slung over her shoulder, Sakura followed Haku up the porch and locked her car behind her, the tips of her ears turning red in response to the chill in the air.
âSeriously, I canât thank you enough for this, Sakura. Usually Iâm fine with leaving the house by itself â Zabuza stops by to water my plants if Iâm gone for a while â but this is longest trip Iâve taken yet and I canât take the rabbits with me nor do I want to leave them with someone else for so long.â
As if on cue, and no more than two steps past the door, two small masses of fur â one white and one grey â came bounding towards the pair, circling Hakuâs feet before pausing next to her, sniffing her pants legs and boots. Smiling, Sakura crouched down and held her hand out, expression brightening when the pair quickly investigated, their noses pressed to her palm before the white rabbit gave her hand a lick, her little black paws on her knee, and the grey bun quickly circled her a couple times.
Haku paused, setting her suitcase aside, and chuckled under his breath as he crouched down as well, stroking the white rabbit.
âLooks like Mochi and Pebble remember you, Sakura. Youâre one of the few lucky people theyâve taken a shine to over the years.â
With an amused grin, she reached over to pet Pebble, the smaller of the pair, when she stopped next to her free hand. Sakuraâs ran her fingers over the darker grey spots on her forehead before she glanced up at the sound of soft thumps, smile faltering slightly.
Hakuâs third and final rabbit, smaller than Mochi but larger than Pebble and covered in black fur marbled with brown spots, was watching them, crouched a few feet away and her brown ear twitching. A little hesitantly, Sakura held out a hand and waited before her expression fell into a deadpan when the bunny simply turned and hopped away, kicking her back feet up at Sakura.
âAnd Marzipan still hates me.â
Giggling to himself, Haku gave Mochiâs ears a few final scratches before standing and taking Sakuraâs arm, leading her further into the house as the rabbits followed after them.
âSheâll warm up to you after you feed her, donât worry. I think she knows Iâm leaving so sheâs acting a little passive aggressive. Now! Letâs get you settled in and Iâll make some hot chocolate.â
::
An hour and a half later found the pair on Hakuâs couch, a second batch of hot cocoa in hand and the rabbits lazing around them. With Mochi in her lap, Pebble flopped next to her thigh, and Marzipan tucked under Hakuâs knee as he sat cross-legged, Sakura inputted the list of emergency contacts and general numbers of importance into her phone while he flipped through one of her photo portfolios. Absentmindedly stroking the white bun, she glanced up to gaze out the glass doors leading to the small terrace that looked out over the misty lake for a moment before returning her attention to the list, pausing on the last name.
âYou mentioned me probably meeting this Zabuza guy, right?â She finally asked as she finished keying in his number. Haku glanced up, expression shifting to one of remembrance before he nodded.
âOh! Yes, heâs supposed to be dropping off a package for me when he gets back from town later this afternoon. Iâll be gone by then, but he already knows youâll be here.â
âAnd who exactly is he again? Youâve mentioned him several times already but I donât think I know him.â
He smiled at her confused expression, chuckling under his breath before carefully closing her portfolio.
âZabuza is one of my neighbors â his home is the house closest to mine â and heâs been living on the lake for years longer than I have.â When she nodded in reply, his smiled turned a little more teasing, a playful glint in his eyes. âBig scary guy â could probably crush a manâs skull with just his hands if he tried hard enough. And definitely an axe murderer.â
Sakura sent him an unamused look and he laughed, reaching down to pet Marzipanâs back.
âKidding, kidding. Heâs a little intimidating at first, but a really nice guy once you get to know him. I think youâll get along.â
Lips pursed, she slowly nodded, leaning back into the couch and smiling fondly when Pebbled shifted, moving to hop up next to Mochi. Sakura hummed under her breath for a moment before glancing over at Haku, eyebrow quirked and her mug of hot chocolate at her lips.
âAnd what about the other locals? Anyone to... watch out for?â
He reached over to massage the white bunnyâs ear and looked thoughtful, turning his gaze out over the lake view.
âChojuro, the police officer, is my other immediate neighbor and heâs really sweet, if a little shy. Do you still like to take early morning jogs?â At her nod, he continued, leaning back slightly when Marzipan moved out from under his knee and halfway into his lap. âThen youâll probably meet him if you use the trail that circles the lake â heâs up for runs pretty early in the day.â
A pause as he took a sip of his hot cocoa.
âThere are only seven houses around the lake and the two vacant ones are next to each other on the other side of Chojuroâs property. Iâve never personally met Zabuzaâs other neighbor, Kisame, but theyâre close friends so I hear about him sometimes.â He shrugged, brushing his long, parted bangs over his shoulder. âHe works at home and heâs a bit of a recluse, so I doubt youâll meet him.â
âAnd the last neighbor?â
Here, Hakuâs lips pursed into a frown and he looked back at the lake, expression dry as he pointed into the distance.
âSuigetsu is a... character. He lives on the other side of the lake from me, fortunately. Heâs, er... frustrating.â Sighing, he rubbed his forehead, obliging the brown rabbit with chin scratches when she nudged his free hand. âHis brother is a lot nicer â more tolerable, at least â but I think heâs in Europe at the moment.â
A dutiful nod.
âSo I should keep some pepper spray in hand if I happen to meet a âSuigetsuâ, got it.â
Hakuâs laugh was immediate and he quickly cooed down at the rabbits when they all jumped in surprise, composing himself as he grinned at Sakura.
âNo, no! Heâs not a bad guy or anything, just a little annoying. Suigetsu keeps to himself usually, so I donât think youâll end up meeting him.â She still looked a little dubious and he chuckled under his breath, sending her a lopsided smile. âEvery town has that one kooky local â Suigetsu just so happens to fit that bill.â
It was about then that Haku pulled out his own cellphone and checked the time, giving a reluctant sigh as he gently moved Marzipan out of his lap.
âItâs about time I got going.â Lips turning down in a frown as he rose from his spot on the couch, he glanced around and mused aloud. âI already gave you the rabbitsâ meal times and showed you where their supplies are...â
âDid you need help loading up your luggage?â Pebble and Mochi begrudgingly hopped out of her lap as Sakura moved to stand as well, all three of buns piling up next to each other as the Haku tried to make sure he wasnât forgetting anything.
âNo, no, I packed up the jeep earlier this morning. Youâve got the vetâs number and you said you still remember their general care routine â what else, what else...â
The pair moved out of the living room, Haku absentmindedly pocketing his phone and wallet, and towards the kitchen, the young man gesturing towards the fridge.
âEverything is pretty stocked up but keep receipts if you do any extra grocery shopping so that I can pay you back.â He quickly pressed his fingers to her lips when she looked like she was going to argue, his smile unfaltering. âAnd thatâs not a request. Itâs the least I can do!â
After spending a few moments to show her where various items and appliances were in the kitchen, they headed back towards the front door.
âWiFi password is on the nightstand next to the bed, I showed you where the laundry room is earlier, and, oh! The pizza place in town does deliver, just mention my name when they ask for the address. What am I forgetting?â
Theyâd finally made it to the door and Hakuâs eyebrows were furrowed, his hands patting his pockets before he glanced over at the foyer table next to the entrance and his expression brightened with realization.
âKeys!â
Sakura accepted the ring of keys that he plucked out of a glass bowl on the table, checking a few of them over for a moment to find that they were all labeled. Grabbing his car keys from the bowl as well, Haku reached for a coat hung up on the coat rack next to the foyer table, sending her a smile as he pulled it on.
âHouse key, key to the boat house â feel free to use it if youâre in the mood for a ride on the lake, and my PO Box key.â The rabbits had joined them at this point, hopping up Haku as they seemed to realize that he was leaving and, smiling softly, he crouched down to offer goodbyes and pets. It was only a few moments later before he finally stood and pulled Sakura in for a hug, pecking her cheek once more.
âGive me a call if anything comes up or if you have any questions, okay?â
Smiling, she quickly returned the hug and moved to open the door for him when they separated, nodding as she replied and pocketed the keys.
âHave fun, Haku, and drive safe. Iâll keep you updated on how things are going!â
He gave a final coo to the buns before finally heading towards his jeep, sending Sakura a wave as he moved to climb in.
âSee you in a few weeks, Sakura! And thanks again!â
She was careful not to let the rabbits run out, waving in reply and watching Haku back up and travel down the driveway. She waited until he disappeared through the trees before returning inside, rubbing at her arms to beat back the short chill from outside. The bunnies waited at the door for a few moments longer, Mochi standing up on her hind legs while Pebble and Marzipan sniffed at the bottom of the door, before they finally moved away and followed after her. Sakura shuffled carefully into the living room as the grey rabbit wove between her feet and, with a stretch, she pulled her phone out of her back pocket.
âYou guys still have a couple hours until your official dinner time but Haku said your hay rack might need a refill about now. Iâll check on that and then we can see if he left his Netflix logged in...â
::
After the rabbits had been fed their fresh veggies and Sakura triple-checked to make sure their water bowls were full of clean water, she turned her attention to the fridge, hands on her hips as she tried to decide what to make for herself. There were a few toys scattered around the kitchen as Mochi hanged out around her, the other two buns running and playing in the living room with more toys, and she was careful to watch her step as she moved towards the pantry.
Eventually settling on a simple sandwich, Sakura prepared her dinner and grabbed a bottle of water before returning to the living room. She took her seat on the couch, legs crossed and tucked close and the rabbits burning off energy on the carpeted floor, and returned her attention to the TV. Aladdin was still paused, only about ten minutes into the movie â just as sheâd left it, and she only made it a few scenes in before there was a sudden knock at the door.
She, of course, jumped in surprise and the rabbits froze, their attention turning in the direction of the front door, and Sakura glanced over her shoulder. Frowning to herself, she hesitated for a moment before finally remembering what Haku had said about his neighbor dropping off a package. She shrugged to herself, guessing that it was the neighbor at the door, and moved to stand, veering off her path to the front of the house to slip into the kitchen and leave her food on a counter, out of reach of the buns.
Sakura ran her fingers through her short hair as she approached the front door, unlocking it before carefully pulling it open and pausing as she stared up at the man in front of her.
He looked like he could very well be an entire foot taller than her, his shoulders broad and entire build muscular, and Sakura blinked as she took in his appearance, remembering Hakuâs brief description of âZabuzaâ.
If the man standing in front of her was, in fact, this mysterious Zabuza, intimidating was pretty damn accurate.
He was dressed pretty light considering the chill in the air of the early evening, the sleeves of his dark blue hoodie pushed halfway up his forearms and the jacket itself open over a black shirt. He was wearing a scarf, Sakura noted in slight relief, but it hid most of his lower face from view and she was left taking in the few details that she could see.
Short, messy, black hair and hard brown eyes that were narrowed as he looked her over as well, and shit, sheâd been staring, hadnât she?
âMay I help you?â
He watched her for a moment longer, one hand shoved into the pocket of his jeans while the other held a package tucked up under his arm. The man gave a short huff and glanced over her shoulder before refocusing his steely gaze on her, shifting his weight to his other foot.
âYou must be the friend thatâs housesitting.â He finally replied, his voice deep but muffled behind the grey scarf. âHaku said youâd probably be here when I stopped by. Did he leave already?â
She resisted the urge to chew on her lip and moved out from behind the door to face him fully, suspicions confirmed.
âYes and yes, he left a couple hours ago. Iâm Sakura Haruno â you must be Zabuza?â
His posture shifted slightly, shoulders relaxing into a slight slouch, and he gave a curt nod before holding out the package.
âGood, he told you Iâd be stopping by.â Another grunt as he nodded at her and she held back her frown, lips pressed tightly together.
âZabuza Momochi,â When she moved to accept the box, she caught the slight change in his expression and realized that he was smirking at her from behind his scarf. âWelcome to Lake Kiri.â
She offered him an awkward smile in an attempt to hide her sudden nervousness.
âOh, uhm, thanks, Zabuza.â Feeling the need to keep the conversation going, if just to be a polite, she shuffled her feet and rubbed the back of her head. âDo you have any tips as a local? Any places in town to recommend?â
There was another change in his expression, gaze cold and hard set as he looked down at her and an icy chill passed over the pair.
âDonât go in the water.â
Sakura froze, eyes going wide as her gaze flickered to the side and she resisted the urge to glance over her shoulder.
Grip tightening around the box, she watched him hesitantly.
âW-why..? Is there something wr-â
His snort cut her off and he gave her a very dry look.
âItâs November. Even if the lake isnât frozen over, the water is still colder than a snowmanâs ass. Youâll just end up with hypothermia.â
The flush on her face was both due to the cold air and her embarrassment and Sakura coughed awkwardly into her fist, green gaze dropping down to the side as she mentally berated herself.
Duh, Sakura.
âR-right, of course. Thanks for the heads up...â
His amused grunt only furthered her embarrassment and Zabuza slipped his free hand into his pocket, that smirk returning as he watched her.
âThereâs a bakery next to the post office.â He said after a moment and she glanced up, pink eyebrow quirked. âI recommend the blueberry glazed.â
She gave him a slow, nod in thanks and they stood silently for a few seconds before he shifted his weight to his other leg again. Rolling his shoulders in a shrug, he tipped his head towards her in a final nod as his gaze turned oddly thoughtful.
âAnyways, Iâll get going. Nice meeting you. Haku gave you my number?â
(It didnât particularly sound like he meant it, but she appreciated the sentiment. He looked like he was more annoyed with the niceties than he was letting on, but she wasnât about to say anything about it.)
At her nod, he turned, walking down the porch and towards a truck that she now noticed parked next to her car, a hand lifting from his pocket as he offered a short wave in farewell.
âO-oh! Nice meeting you too, Zabuza. Have a good night?â
She received a nod in reply and, in moments, he was making his way down the driveway and into the trees. Sakura stared after him for a few seconds, gaze following the glow of his brake lights, before she let out a sigh of relief, shoulders relaxing. Package tucked under her arm, she ran her fingers through her hair and quickly went back inside, taking a moment to lock the door once more.
She could now put a face to a name, one of four, and while first impressions hadnât been too terrible, she wasnât sure how she felt about this Zabuza guy. Intimidating, for sure. But she had a feeling that he had been trying not to act too sour towards her. Still, he was apparently pretty close friends with Haku, so that was reason enough to attempt to be friendly with him.
Hopefully sheâd have similar luck with the other neighbors.
::
While the rabbits had their own cute little beds tucked into their large corner of Hakuâs bedroom, complete with toys, fleece blankets, a little hidey-house, and bowl of water, Sakura wasnât too surprised when she felt one hop up onto the bed later that night, sniffing at her face as she let out a groan. She couldnât have been asleep for more than an hour and a quick peak at her phone confirmed that it was just past midnight. Rolling over onto her back, Sakura absentmindedly stroked the bun that was snuggling up against her chest, its nose tucked under her chin, and managed to spot white fur in the darkness of the room.
Draping an arm over her eyes, she let out a tired yawn.
Only to pause as her ears picked up the distant sound of water splashing.
Eyebrows furrowed, Sakura lowered her arm and glanced to her left - towards the window that faced the lake. Lips pursed, she listened for a moment longer and was just about to pass it off as her imagination when she heard far-away splashes again, Mochi nuzzling at her jaw as she frowned to herself.
Mumbling an apology to the rabbit, she slowly sat up and ultimately tucked the bun against her side when she didnât hop off of her lap. Carefully supporting Mochi with her arm, Sakura slid off the edge of the bed and moved towards the windows, a hand raised to brush through her messy pink hair. With the rabbit snuggled into the crook of her arm, she pulled back a white curtain and peered out at misty lake, gaze narrowed as she tried to see anything through the rolling clouds of fog.
The moon bathed the lake with a soft glow, making the entire scene rather eerie and Sakura tried to convince herself that the chill creeping up her spine was completely plausible considering the cold weather. Fortunately, she saw no eyes in the mist or figures out on the water or spooky, unidentifiable shadows and, with a tired groan, she told herself that it was nothing, thank you very much.
Still, she was sure to double check the locks on the windows before pulling the curtains back into place, finally returning to the bed and mumbling a goodnight to Mochi when she took up a spot on her stomach, the pair quickly falling back asleep.
Had Sakura stayed at the window just a minute longer, she would have surely seen the distant shape rise out of the water, the fog drifting around it for a moment before it sank back down below the surface of the lake.

18 Things You Didnât Know About Location Of Garden Of Eden On World Map | location of garden of eden on world map
Mechanically, Far Cry New Dawn is the aforementioned adventurous weâve been arena aback 2012âs Far Cry 3. Underneath the gloss, it is added complicated but one bulletin rings clear: Alike in Paradise, there will consistently be snakes. And you, Amateur One, will get to annihilate them in the best amazing agency imaginable.
Adam and Eve â First Foundation Ministries â location of garden of eden on world map | location of garden of eden on world map
Set 17 years afterwards nuclear accident burst the world, Far Cry New Dawn brings players aback to the fabulous Hope County, a massive amplitude of Montana that was additionally the area for Far Cry 5. That adventurous had wistfully aureate fields and sun-drenched backwoods canopies. New Dawnâs Hope County is a delicate wonderland. Itâs mutations, which accommodate bark-skinned bison and a Borealisâd sky, anamnesis works like 2018 science fiction abhorrence blur Annihilation. Yet Hope County is far from a adverse hellscape; it is a 18-carat Eden amidst nuclear waste.
Communities there thrived until the accession of the Highwaymen, Mad Max-esque raiders â led by accompanying sisters Mickey and Lou â who barge on whatever idyllism that remains. Thatâs area the amateur comes in. Taking ascendancy of the aegis arch of a para-military adjudicator accumulation advance by the absorbing Thomas Rush, your job is to balk the Highwaymen and assure one of the aftermost absolute chargeless settlements, Prosperity.
Taken on its own, Far Cry New Dawn is as aboveboard a post-apocalyptic account as can be told. Indeed, itâs a abstraction as old (and fraught) as accepted history itself: Enemies are at the gates. The Highwaymen are the Visigoths advancing Rome. They are the assured sin of mankind, fabricated credible afresh afterwards the End Times, patrolling calmly placed outposts for the amateur to assault.
Because of this, it is appetizing to say that New Dawn engages with post-apocalyptic iconography alone as a agency to facilitate added stabby, shooty video adventurous fun times. Thatâs absolutely accurate on some level, but as things advance it becomes bright that New Dawn provokes a chat about its genre, its medium, and battle itself. These aggressive goals are tackled with the seriesâ appropriate clumsiness, endlessly aloof shy of satisfactory abstracts in animosity of an ardent attempt.
New Dawnâs automated framework is the aforementioned as it has been aback Far Cry 3. This is an open-world first-person ballista with capital quests, some ancillary quests and a lot of bases to raid. While there is a cord of capital adventure quests to complete, New Dawn focuses on bottomward the amateur into a majestic amplitude and dotting it with an array of challenges to complete, stashes to find, and characters to recruit as companions. This amplitude is best explored during the aboriginal game, aback enemies and creatures can calmly actuate of the player, and afore they acquire accumulated abundant aerial affection weapons and abilities to blab combat.
The aboriginal two thirds of New Dawn represent the seriesâ blueprint at its best effective. Wandering the map is a admixture of scavenging and action engagements that feel abstruse and baleful in according measure. Itâs never absolutely as freewheeling as its abutting competitor, Fallout, but there is a bright accent to the exploration. You will blooper through the countryside and contrivance Highwaymen patrols until you blunder aloft the charcoal of a church.
There, you adeptness apprehend a agenda about a hidden backing in a tomb below the arena and break a addle to locate the key. Application what youâve scavenged there, you adeptness ability a new burglarize that allows you to alone topple a Highwaymen camp, accepting a accumulation of booze to advancement your own settlement. This action feels natural, added like an absolute progression of contest instead of alone active off analysis marks on your map.
When burst down, all thatâs accident actuality is two altered activities arena off anniversary other. The aboriginal is a acknowledgment of Far Cry 5âs âprepper stashesâ, reimagined as post-apocalyptic scavenging excursions. These appropriate scenarios are dotted abundantly throughout Hope County, some alms action challenges and platforming courses, others aptitude appear addle solving. On one expedition, you adeptness accretion yourself convincing a lock in a heavily booby-trapped alembic by tinkering with a accumulating of animatronic fish.
In another, you will be affected to actuate of a mutated coquette axial a battered association centre and escape from advancing bonfire afterwards your attempts to bake the creatureâs backup bake the absolute building. These sequences, nestled off the baffled aisle but never so abstruse that a non-player actualization canât mark their area calmly on your map, breathe action into the apple and admirably agreement with cast tropes of debris scavengers and old apple ruins.
They abide one of the seriesâ best additions, and augment admirably into Far Cryâs cast of accessible apple combat. As you analyze more, you can adeptness added weapons application the accumulating of aqueduct tape, components, screws, and added abstracts you accretion from these stashes.
As you aggregate resources, you will boring alpha arrest the mapâs assorted outposts and refineries. The ambition is simple and charcoal banausic afterwards all these years: Annihilate anybody and booty what they had. Whereas amateur like Far Cry 4 and 5 angry this action into ambiguous political or religious struggles, New Dawnâs account is abundant added immediate. Anniversary adversary abject contains a accumulation of ethanol, a adeptness that is spent alone in advance the assorted actualization of your home settlement.
If you appetite to adeptness college bank weapons, advancement your garden, or accredit fast biking you will charge to advancement your home, and that agency accumulating ethanol. Apprehend cynically, this is a abundant added egoistic action for arrest outposts than added Far Cry games. But divorcing these activities from the seriesâ aside and mismanaged brainy struggles and framing them alone in agreement of adeptness accretion is a appreciably acceptable fit for the post-apocalyptic genre. It makes faculty for New Dawnâs axial automated attempt to centermost aloft who absolutely gets to advance in Paradise.
All of this has happened before, and all of this will appear again.

End Of The Apple As We Know It
Colourful beheld aesthetic, focused adventure is a acceptable footfall up from Far Cry 5, abundance hunts are great.
Iâve been arena the aforementioned adventurous aback 2012.
Ubisoft Montreal
PS4 (Played), Xbox One, PC
Finished on absence adversity in almost 16 hours.
And yet, actuality is area New Dawn starts to run into a problem. In the act of acquisition adversary fortifications the seriesâ vapid boredom makes itself known. First, comes the adeptness to epitomize these challenges for added rewards. These âescalationsâ acquiesce players to abalienate the abject aback to the Highwaymen.
This increases the raw adversity of the appointment â New Dawn adds an ascendance four tiers of adversity for activities and enemies starting with blah accepted encounters and catastrophe with aureate âlegendaryâ encounters â and allows players to abide the violence. For all of their new difficulty, added guards, and added alarms, these challenges never amplify so far that you canât bright them with some cheating and a appropriate affection bow and arrow. That weapon and its connected bulge aural the alternation belies one of Far Cry New Dawnâs best absolute motifs: Cycles and afresh conflict.
The bow was aboriginal alien in Far Cry 3, forth with this base-clearing activity. In that time, it has remained one of the best able accoutrement above games. It is about bashful and can annihilate best enemies with a audible shot. This is accurate all the way from avant-garde settings like Far Cry 4 and 5 to the aged times of Far Cry Primal.
It is accurate actuality as well, afterwards the end of the world. And that accuracy reveals the seriesâ basal thesis, the aphotic affection that led Far Cry 5 to end in blaze and ash: We are no bigger now than we were in our best abroad past.
The automated accuracy of Far Cry, bidding in amaranthine bases claimed and arrows accursed is that altruism will never be chargeless from violence. New Dawn has two responses to this contemptuous thesis. First, it wants you to adore the chaos. If you canât stop it, you adeptness as able-bodied acquire some goddamn fun. Secondly, it wants to acquire why all of this has happened afore and why all of it will appear again.
That aboriginal actuation is best bidding in New Dawnâs active aesthetics. Far from the aphotic and bedimmed post-apocalyptic worlds appropriate to the genre, New Dawnâs Hope County is a technicolor wonderland abundant with shades and hues that are both aberrant and astounding. Rivers breeze with baptize the aforementioned colour as robinâs eggs, deer antlers affection camp shades of pink, the sky shimmers with neon light, and bearsâ hearts afterglow chicken aural their chests.
New Dawn retains some of the ambiguous Biblical allusions of Far Cry 5 but weaponises them to greater potential. Hope Countyâs accuracy is amazing and advised as such. This is an absurd sanctuary, a accurate Garden of Eden in both breeding and colour palette. This is fabricated all the added credible if players go on âexpeditionsâ missions that booty them them alfresco Hope County and into the blow of the United States. These areas abridgement the aforementioned activity and accuracy of the capital map, but the consistent adverse alone serves to highlight Hope Countyâs splendor.
Map of the Eden Project, Cornwall â location of garden of eden on world map | location of garden of eden on world map
That accuracy bleeds into the beheld ability of the Highwaymen and their design. Their armour and cartage are corrective and apparent with the brightest colours, and they advertise their attacks with accurate fireworks and coloured smoke. They acquire an absolute flair, as both a beheld addendum of Hope Countyâs mutated majesty and a hip-hip beat of the new world. Unlike Far Cry 5âs Edenâs Gate cult, which captivated assimilate pretensions of credo that the adventurous could never abundantly define, the Highwaymen are added understandable: they are actuality to fight, fuck, and acquire fun.
The aftereffect is both a post-apocalypse that feels audible and a Far Cry ambience that feels abundant added allegorical. Whereas Far Cry 2 and 4 capital to blow on socio-political struggles in their agnate African and Himalayan facsimiles and Far Cry 5 bumbled about in a abashed American pastoralism, New Dawn leverages its blatant aesthetics into a apple that is anxious with broader concepts. It is cogent that the seriesâ best active ambience and accurately honest villains appear afterwards the pretensions of affable association acquire absolutely been austere off the face of the earth.
Far Cry 5âs better blemish was attempting to abode to avant-garde day issues afterwards mustering the courage to absolutely point fingers. New Dawn opts for article beneath circuitous and is stronger for it. The agnate abandon allows it to be added visually candid and altogether articular than its antecedent in both architecture and aesthetics.
New Dawnsâ villains, the accompanying sisters Mikey and Lou, feel beneath like absolute entities in the way that added seriesâ villains have. Far Cry 4âs Pagan Min, for all of his ambiguous foppishness, was a bright abettor of absolution and attitude with a authentic backstory and action for his egocentric impulses.
He was a baby man, cardinal over a baby country, lashing out adjoin a apple that had bootless to adulation him. Far Cry 2âs Jackal was an abettor of consistently war, gluttonous to fan the bonfire of battle so aerial that they adeptness bake abroad all facilitators of abandon including himself. Mickey and Lou are thankfully not as crass as Far Cry 3âs villain Vaas Montenegro but their motives are generally as black and ill-defined.
Because the Highwaymen are the emblematic snakes in Hope Countyâs Garden of Eden, the Twins are abolishment added than Id and Ego fabricated manifest. Aback they are on screen, their raw allure makes up for their abridgement of complication but their role in the anecdotal is abundantly functional.
As the Twins amplify their efforts adjoin the amateur and Prosperity, New Dawn finds itself affective forth with a abundant added assured clip than Far Cry 5. Gone are the connected wanderings and alternate monologues of ambiguous ideologues. Instead, the Twins apply a absolute and connected blackmail adjoin the amateur through the arduous ability of their will and desires. They appetite so acutely and feel so assertive in their own backbone that they never achromatize to accomplishments like some added alternation villains.
What they abridgement in complexity, they accomplish up for in arduous presence. The aftereffect is that New Dawnâs anecdotal maintains momentum, alike accounting for the moments it pauses and asks to amateur to booty some time advance their base.
One of New Dawnâs arch contemporary apropos is parenthood and children. It teems with absent fathers, disturbing mothers, and aberrant children. From Carmina Rye, your aboriginal AI accompaniment and babe of Far Cry 5âs Nick Rye, to the abstract accommodation to accord alternation comedic abatement Hurk Drubman Jr. a adolescent of his own, New Dawn is absolutely absorbed with the accord amid parents and their offspring, and it is actuality that we alpha to acquire the Twins more. They booty because they can, they annihilate because they appetite to, and their development â arrested aboriginal due to nuclear blaze â has embodied in one abiding atmosphere tantrum.
Far from blaming the Twins, New Dawn added advisedly blames their father, an concealed alone who responded to the challenges of the new apple with violence. In the moments area New Dawn starts to analyze generational violence, in the moments area it starts to ask how alike afterwards the end of all things, we still acquire villains like the Twins, New Dawn starts to become article added absorbing than expected.
New Dawnâs allure with ancestor abstracts agency extensive aback to abode the flaws and shortcomings of its own ancestor game. It is accordingly absurd to allocution about New Dawn afterwards talking about Far Cry 5 and its own villain, the David Koresh knock-off Joseph Seed.
As a result, New Dawn is not alone a aftereffect aftereffect but a argument which actively complicates a playerâs absolute accord with Far Cry 5 and Seed himself. In Far Cry 5, Seed fabricated ambiguous proclamations about politicians and the horrors of moderns account as portents of an end that absolutely did come.
What fabricated Seed falter as a acute villain was the gameâs disability to accomplish his prophecies adventurous abundant to name the armament of abuse sending the apple appear annihilation. Seedâs eschatology was couched in Christian allegory but lacked a coherency above the apparent trappings. He resurfaces in New Dawn as a new blazon of âFatherâ both in the ambience of his adoration and in a added accurate sense. And while New Dawn over-assumes how absorbed players will be in the fate of Joseph Seed, its accommodation to affix him into its broader thematics turns Seed into an honest to God actualization this time around.
Middle East Conflict Prophesied? â location of garden of eden on world map | location of garden of eden on world map
In the years afterward the Collapse, Seed became the baton of a survivalist accumulation alleged âNew Edenâ, a antecedents of Luddites broken from the blow of Hope County. In an allusion to Far Cry Primal that emphasises New Dawnâs acceptance that there is abolishment new beneath the sun, New Eden functions added like one of that gameâs abounding pre-history tribes than the band begin in Far Cry 5.
As Joseph is already afresh advance into administration and as he reckons with the actuality that he was appropriate in the affliction accessible way, he additionally becomes a accurate ancestor to a adolescent boy called Ethan. This amount accord complements the accord amid the Twins and their father. In this case, Seedâs connected asceticism and acceptance armament him to appear into battle with Ethan. It is a abundant added animal story, focused on a abundant added animal and apparitional man that the cardboard attenuate villain from Far Cry 5.
Seedâs attendance additionally brings a agnate about-face into magical-realism that begins to complicate playerâs relationships to the adventurous apple and Far Cry 5 itself. This comes best conspicuously during the gameâs balance where, atrocious for allies adjoin the Highwaymen, an accord is artificial with New Eden that ends with Joseph giving the amateur a allotment of bake-apple from a banned tree. Itâs eye-rollingly on the adenoids as beheld metaphor, but is additionally how New Dawn justifies an absolute new bank of actualization allowances and abilities.
In a move that bent me off guard, New Dawn starts to added abundantly absorb notions of adoration into the bolt of its anecdotal than Far Cry 5 did. It does this while advancement levels of ambiguity that mostly feels becoming rather than cowardly. Did you absolutely eat bake-apple adored by God or can your new abilities be explained abroad as mutations? Were Far Cry 5âs Sheriff Whitehorse and his assembly absent avatars of the Four Horsemen?
New Dawn never goes so far as to acknowledgment these questions, but it is in the assuming of these things and their agnate ambiguity that it begins to accessible up and analyze affairs of acceptance and apocalypse with added application than its ancestor text.
Itâs not absolute â this is still a Far Cry game, afterwards all â but New Dawnâs alertness to comedy with these account is absolutely welcome.
The end aftereffect is a adventurous that I enjoyed but which additionally balked me greatly. On some levels it is crass and annoying. Far too abounding of its citizens are decumbent to brainless dick jokes and its accent can alter berserk from arena to scene. Its raw gameplay is both acceptable but additionally so appreciably confused abroad from the complexities of alternation analytical angel Far Cry 2 that added veneers of actualization â accident numbers, adversary rarities, and the abstract accommodation to acquiesce players to acquirement crafting abstracts â accomplish it bright that the alternation will never accost its messier, added absorbing ideas.
But if I dig deeper, abrading off the accomplished adorn of AAA affection and safety, there are pieces of a absolutely absorbing game. Whether that is the active art administration or a alertness to abode its capacity with a abundant amount of acquaintance than antecedent titles, New Dawn has instances area aggregate comes together.
Near the average of my playthrough, I rescued the foul-mouth antic Hurk from the Highwaymenâs clutches. I abhorrence Hurk. I abhorrence his fucking guts. He started a antic actualization in Far Cry 3âs Monkey Business DLC backpack and has been featured in all amateur since, including a abstract attendance as âHurkyâ in Far Cry Primal. Abolishment he says is funny, every moment with him makes me appetite to asphyxiate on a pretzel. Actuality he was again, a admonition that the Far Cry that accountable me mostâthe aphotic and advised Far Cry 2 â could never return.
Like the old world, it was gone. I could try to adhere to it, to adhere to a apple that was, or I could acquire that this was the new cachet quo. That alike as New Dawn sometimes afraid me, it would additionally acquire Hurk and aggregate he represented.
âYou attending accursed familiar,â Hurk said to me the aboriginal time I saw him afresh in New Dawn. âAs if weâve done this afore in some amaranthine addictive bend from which neither of us will anytime escape.â I see you too, New Dawn.
I anticipation about cutting him in his brainless face. I anticipation about how his abrupt actualization was abrasive all the assignment New Dawn was accomplishing with its narrative. I anticipation about how abundant I admired this adventurous was like Far Cry 2. I anticipation about how connected Iâd been bent up in Far Cryâs alternate abandon and formulaic gameplay. Then, I accomplished the chat and added Hurk to my agenda of accompaniment characters.
There are consistently snakes in the garden. There will consistently be a new map of bases to conquer. There will consistently be addition Hurk.

Can Canopy Growth stay ahead of pot rival Aurora Cannabis?
This article was originally published on Fool.com
Marijuana stocks have captured the imagination of high-growth investors, who hope that major companies in the industry will be able to take early command of the budding cannabis market and become household names across the globe. Among the top companies in the field, Canopy Growth (NYSE:CGC) and Aurora Cannabis (NYSE:ACB) have emerged as true contenders with their early-mover status, and with the backing of Constellation Brands, Canopy seems like a natural favorite to become the real leader of the marijuana market.
Canopy Growth expects to release its fiscal second-quarter financial report on Wednesday, Nov. 14, and investors will be looking closely at the company to see whether it can keep up the pace in a fast-growing market. Indeed, with Aurora Cannabis having reported sales for the September quarter that were higher than what Canopy brought in three months early, Canopy is in a position in which itâs having to play catch-up â at least temporarily â to stay ahead of Aurora Cannabis from a revenue standpoint.

A big boom for Canopy Growth?
Canopy Growth investors are looking for an extremely strong performance from the cannabis producer for the third quarter. Revenue is expected nearly to triple, and although Canopy isnât likely to become profitable as long as it has so much growth potential in which to invest any available financial resources, its bottom line is seen showing considerable improvement even compared to just three months ago as sales ramp up.
That level of sales growth is important from a competitive standpoint, because peers in the industry have also seen big leaps in revenue. For instance, Aurora Cannabis said Monday that its fiscal first-quarter revenue jumped 260% to 29.7 million Canadian dollars, with cannabis-related revenue climbing at a 236% pace year over year. Operationally, Aurora managed to see dramatic improvements in key metrics, including production volume that almost quintupled, sales volume by weight that tripled, and active registered patient counts that were up 250% from year-earlier levels.
Seeking to be the industry leader
Yet Canopy Growth has already demonstrated a solid track record of delivering big results. In its fiscal first-quarter report three months ago, Canopy reported a 63% rise in revenue, with strength in several essential measures of success. Selling prices per gram improved by nearly CA$1 to CA$8.94, and the company boasted more than 85,000 patients in the medical cannabis sector. The companyâs key Spectrum Cannabis soft-gel product continued to gain traction, with an operational network spanning 11 companies.
Canopy is pursuing growth in several directions. The companyâs wholly owned subsidiary Canopy Health Innovations is looking at clinical trials of cannabis for treating insomnia, and it expects further research to continue. The Canopy Animal Health unit will do similar work for potential veterinary treatments.
The most important thing for Canopy to concentrate on right now, however, is the opportunity to serve the new recreational cannabis market in Canada. In preparation for the mid-October legalization of marijuana, Canopy had already sought to maximize the amount of cannabis it would deliver to provincial and territorial governments for the post-legalization rollout, and co-CEO Bruce Linton noted back in August that it had already secured commitments to provide an estimated 36% of total supply, giving it âby far the deepest channel into the Canadian recreational cannabis market.â
What to watch for
Indeed, Linton sees the company as the key innovator in the marijuana space in Canada for the foreseeable future. As the co-CEO put it:
To drive our brand down to main street Canada and capture retail margin, we successfully invested in securing Tweed cannabis store licenses in Newfoundland and Labrador, Manitoba, and Saskatchewan, and we expect to leverage these successes in Alberta as well as in the anticipated private retail framework in Ontario. Canopy is developing the leading private cannabis retail channel in Canada.
Of course, those numbers wonât even show up in Canopyâs fiscal second-quarter results, because the quarter ended on Sept. 30 prior to the rollout of Canadian recreational marijuana. What will appear, though, is a full reckoning of all the supply agreements Canopy was able to secure, along with an early picture of how post-legalization sales have gone. Those numbers should go a long way toward telling whether the company is making the most of its opportunities.
Donât stop looking at Canopy Growth
With a flood of marijuana earnings reports coming out this week, thereâll be a lot of competition for your attention. But with such a strong track record so far, Canopy Growth is a marijuana stock that deserves a close look, not just for its own sake but also as an indicator of how the entire cannabis industry is performing.

Hilton Commits to Cutting Environmental Footprint in Half and Doubling Social Impact Investment
Hilton today announced it will cut its environmental footprint in half and double its social impact investment by 2030. With this commitment, Hilton will become the first major hotel company to institute science-based targets to reduce carbon emissions and send zero soap to landfill.
The company will also double the amount it spends with local and minority-owned suppliers, and double its investment in programs to help women and youth around the world. These goals are part of Hiltonâs Travel with Purpose corporate responsibility strategy to further the United Nationâs 2030 Sustainable Development Agenda.
New consumer research reaffirms Hiltonâs corporate responsibility strategy. According to a survey of 72,000 Hilton guests, social, environmental, and ethical considerations are central to their buying preferences, especially those younger than 25 years-old. The six-day survey was conducted in May 2018 and asked travelers if they research a hotel companyâs environmental and social efforts. It discovered:
33% actively seek this information before booking â of those, 60% conduct research even if the information is not easily accessibleÂ
44% under the age of 25 actively seek this information
36% of leisure travelers actively seek this information, compared to 29% of business travelers
Female travelers (39%) are more likely to actively seek this information before booking than male travelers (29%)
Guests staying in Central/South America (46%), the Middle East/Africa (45%), Asia Pacific (41%), and mainland Europe (35%) are more likely to seek this information before booking
âFor nearly 100 years, Hilton has been driven by our mission to have a positive impact on the communities surrounding our hotels,â said Christopher J. Nassetta, President and CEO, Hilton, and Chairman, World Travel & Tourism Council. âIn this Golden Age of Travel, we are taking a leadership role to ensure that the destinations where travelers work, relax, learn and explore are vibrant and resilient for generations of adventurers yet to come.â
In April, Nassetta joined Patricia Espinosa, Executive Secretary of the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change, to engage travel and tourism industry leaders in a âcommon agendaâ to take action on climate change, implement the Paris Climate Agreement, and adopt science-based targets to reduce carbon emissions.
Hiltonâs new 2030 Goals include the following environmental and social targets:
Cut Environmental Impact in Half to Help Protect the Planet
Reduce carbon emissions intensity by 61%, in line with the Paris Climate Agreement and approved by the Science Based Targets Initiative (SBTi)
Reduce water consumption and produced waste by 50%
Remove plastic straws from managed properties
Sustainably source meat, poultry, produce, seafood and cotton
Expand existing soap recycling program to all hotels and send zero soap to landfillÂ
Double Social Investment and Drive Positive Change in Communities
Double the amount spent with local, small and minority-owned suppliers
Double investment in opportunity programs for women and youth, including partnering with local organizations and schools
Contribute 10 million volunteer hours through Team Member initiatives
Double monetary support for natural disaster relief efforts
Advance Human Rights capabilities in Hiltonâs value chain to eradicate forced labor and traffickingÂ
Hilton is already an environmental leader in the industry. Since 2008, the company has reduced carbon emissions and waste by 30%, and energy and water consumption by 20%, saving more than $1 billion in operating efficiencies. LightStay, an award-winning performance measurement system calculates, analyzes and reports the environmental impact at each of Hiltonâs more than 5,300 hotels. Hilton will use LightStay to track its goal of reducing carbon emissions by 61% across its portfolio by 2030.
âThe World Tourism Organization commends Hiltonâs focus on sustainability, which is in line with our overall commitment as the UNâs agency that is dedicated to promoting sustainable tourism for development worldwide,â said Zurab Pololikashvili, Secretary-General of the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO). âHilton has been our partner in this endeavor, raising awareness among customers with examples of best practices for the hospitality industry.â
âCompanies play an integral role in solving our climate crisis,â said Sheila Bonini, Senior Vice President, Private Sector Engagement, World Wildlife Fund. âBy committing to significant intensity emissions reductions based on science, Hilton is setting in motion a plan that will have ripple effects across the hospitality industry while providing more sustainable options for travelers.â

ICAO and forest offsets: Substantial opportunities and exceptional benefits (commentary)
http://bit.ly/2oLzIE0 If aviation emissions were counted as those of a separate country, that country would be ranked as a top ten emitter. The aviation industryâs activities currently contribute between 3.5 and 4.9 percent of total global emissions, and this is expected to increase to 4.4 to 6.2 percent by 2050 under a business-as-usual scenario, according to the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration. There are more than 10,000 flights operating every day around the world, and air passenger numbers are forecast to double by 2030. Without drastic and expensive technology advancements, trajectories for aviation emissions are unlikely to change substantially in upcoming decades. However, current policy is aiming to offset those emissions â with substantial benefits to other sectors, particularly global forests. Considering the scale of emissions and projected growth, the aviation sector is essential to the climate change mitigation discussion. Yet when the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) member countries adopted the Paris Agreement in late 2015 â a history-making global agreement to address climate change with mitigation (emissions reduction) and adaptation (addressing and responding to climate change impacts) â the aviation industry was excluded. This created a pressing need to address aviation sector emissions â and provided a good deal of autonomy to the industry on how to do so. Graph via Linking Flight and Forests: The Essential Role of Forests in Supporting Global Aviationâs Response to Climate Change, a report published by Global Canopy Programme. Tasked with the responsibility of regulating international aircraft emissions under Article 2(2)âŠ

Ontario opens door to suppliers of all sizes in what will be Canadas biggest marijuana market
Ontario opens door to suppliers of all sizes in what will be Canadaâs biggest marijuana market
Unlike other provinces, Ontario has yet to lock into supply deals and is opening up its sourcing to all 90 licensed producers across the country
TORONTO â Ontarioâs provincially-run cannabis retailer is open to sourcing product from growers of all sizes across the country, according to a spokesperson for the Liquor Control Board of Ontario.
The approach appears to be in contrast to the one taking hold in provinces such as Quebec, where the government-run Société des alcools du Québec recently opted to sign sizeable recreational cannabis supply agreements with a select few large licensed producers.
It was probably the most LPs that had ever been in the same room together, talking about what's likely to be the world's biggest cannabis retailer
In Ontario, âthe process for procuring cannabis supply for the (Ontario Cannabis Retail Corp.) will be open to all Canadian licensed producers,â said LCBO spokesperson Nicole Laoutaris in an email, adding that âthe OCRC has not yet entered into any supplier agreements.â
The comment comes a day after the OCRC, a subsidiary of the LCBO, hosted 60 licensed producers at a âsupplier prep dayâ in Toronto. All 90 LPs across the country were invited to Tuesdayâs meeting.
âItâs almost sad we didnât take a group shot, because I think it really was historic. It was probably the most LPs that had ever been in the same room together, talking about whatâs likely to be the worldâs biggest cannabis retailer,â said John Fowler, chief executive of The Supreme Cannabis Company Inc., who attended the meeting at the Crowne Plaza Hotel near Torontoâs Pearson International Airport.
âI feel that every LP is going to have a chance to supply the LCBO,â he added. âThere was a commitment to be an equal opportunity retailer, whether youâre big or small, in British Columbia or P.E.I.â
Thereâs still much thatâs unknown about Ontarioâs cannabis retail system, but the approach appears to be different than those taken by other provinces with government-run retail monopolies, and could allay fears that smaller LPs will have trouble gaining shelf space.
Last week, Quebec signed supply deals agreeing to purchase at least 62,000 kilograms of cannabis from six large companies: Canopy Growth Corp., Aphria Inc., Aurora Cannabis Inc., Tilray, MedReleaf Inc. and Hydropothecary Corp.
P.E.I. and New Brunswick have likewise inked supply deals with a small number of companies, a mix of local players and national heavy-hitters.
âItâs my understanding that Ontario is going to be looking to purchase product in line with its evolving demand curve, rather than trying to purchase large quantities of product in advance to meet projected demand,â said Fowler.
With nearly 40 per cent of the countryâs population and more than half of Canadaâs LPs, Ontario is expected to be the largest recreational cannabis market in Canada by a significant stretch.
Itâs unclear how much demand there will be. But the fact that Quebec, with a population 40 per cent smaller than Ontario, is expecting to need at least 62,000 kilograms in the first year of recreational legalization, points to the potential size of Ontarioâs cannabis market.
âThe reality is supply is far short of demand in the near term, which means great opportunities for suppliers, big and small, and I think itâs going to be a transparent and fair process moving forward. I doubt weâre going to see any surprise big supply deals executed in the back room of a provincial regulatorâs office,â said Fowler.
To start, the OCRC expects to have around 40 stores in cities like Toronto, Hamilton, Mississauga, Vaughan, and Brampton. More stores are expected to follow. Last week, the government announced its plan to use Shopify Inc.âs e-commerce platform for online cannabis sales and in its brick and mortar stores.
The supply framework discussed at Tuesdayâs meeting âis being finalized now and more information will be available in the coming weeks,â said Laoutaris.

âItâs almost sad we didnât take a group shot, because I think it really was historic.
