So have N and V given any thought to having their full Solver abilities unlocked now that Uzi's their Admin? They already suffer from (most of) the downsides, so it'd just be a flat-out upgrade for them.
An active Solver string seems a lot more detrimental to a Drone's systems than someone who just carries the AS program— I can't see N or V wanting that! Plus, they're already super OP on their own so adding the configuration on top might be overkill lol, Uzi continues to block for all the DDs Nori and Cyn already have prior Solver String access; Nori purposefully triggered the transformation to a combat form in her new body to get her wings again! Increased need for oil be damned, she misses flying too much. Cyn's is unblocked as it does help with her mobility issues, but keeps up with her oil intake well enough And Porter? They're unsure if she even has it since she's so young, so no use worrying now!
#N probs wouldnt get much use out of the configuration he likes hands-on things#and its a hard NO from V she's had enough after being a lil test run for the Solver in the manor#Uzi isn't J's Admin but she still has some level of control on the Solver side rather than a system access blockage#Uzi pretty much leaves her to her own devices#md post series#ty for the ask!!

just had a very transparent reminder that practice does create improvement. my sister asked me to make a sign language guide for my 5yo nephew's schoolteachers. and maybe i coulda printed a buncha shit out, but my nephew is 5 and gives some of his signs a personal flair that the internet diagrams just doesn't capture. so i spent a whole day hand-drawing his most commonly used signs, and buddy, if you've ever struggled to draw hands, you can imagine the difficulty there is in drawing hands signing shit. point is, though, i was given the opportunity to mark the clear different in the quality of my hand-drawing skills from the first sign card to the last.
so yeah if you want to rapidly improve your hand-drawing skills, try to hand-draw a sign language guide using pictures of your own hands forming the signs, and internet sign drawings that range from excellent to complete dog-shit (no shade tho I almost cried trying to draw the sign for "friends" that one's a real bitch.
#drawing#ASL#also my sister works at the school and she said his teachers were legit close to tears when they pulled the guide out of his backpack#apparently they don't often get this kind of assistance without even asking from a guardian#sister was also recently grousing about parents who were trying to convince the school to...get this...#to NOT give their daughter access to the AAC device the school provides so she's forced to talk to communicate#oh and an AAC is basically an ipad with text to speech and little pictures kids can tap to communicate#my nephew has one on him 24/7 because he can't talk#so far the doctors are pretty sure it's a rare kind of oral and verbal apraxia#so basically difficulty with fine motor control of his mouth necessary for speech. he also struggles to chew due to this#but yeah. lots of disabled kids use these devices to communicate. nonverbal autistic kids is probably the example most ppl know best#although there's a ton of kids with more ambiguous diagnoses who use them too#but yeah my hand drawing skills went from a 2 to like a 5 by the time i finished that guide

asked my dad what he was doing to those poor headphones and he was like oh well a disabled woman in my piano group mentioned in passing how it would be cool if she had one of those things that lets you use the sustain pedal by nodding your head. so im making her one :) i was like damn thats significantly more useful than most of your projects. he was like hey. there are plenty of uses for a keytar that turns itself off if you try to play wonderwall.
#normally his projects are like. funny keytar or working cardboard arcade machine or twitter controlled stranger things halloween lights so#i was very much not expecting accessibility device for my internet friend to be the answer#mine

it weekend now so i cant continue fiddling around with it (and most likely i wont have much time for fancy projects next week) but i was so excited to install a usb sniffer on the windows computer and see what the traffic to the spectrometer looks like. and then the stupid driver issue happened!!
#tütensuppe#also slightly worrying that the singular person ive talked to about this project#(one of the spectrometer users. not fluent in control system or the more techy stuff)#seems very convinced that this is going to work. which i am very much not im just playing around at this point#i can retrieve usb identification info (like serial number connection speed device model etc)#but the attempts at functional communication a) returned numbers i cant parse b) im not even sure what i DID there#i replugged it this morning but ran what i thought was an initializing command before#and it started audibly moving something inside so i think i was accessing the slits/shutter instead#in the long run it WOULD be preferable to integrate it into the control system but my skills are questionable...#aside from the driver issue it would also help w the work bc you can make properties record the history#rn apparently they have to manually record what settings they use when and if someone forgets you can throw out the data.#plus: less clunky remote control and easy integration into their data acquisition tool#it would be SO COOL but its harder than expected weh weh

So along with ToaM I have two wips that I'm working on. The first is basically easy because its more after the After rather than During which gives me heaps of creative freedom.
The second one though is really annoying me so I've been searching and I've realised that fundamentally the way I read a lot of Spiderman fics and particularly the way I see Peter & Tony fics written, tend to fall into an area i consider to be overly invasive and creepy (and thats not even considering both the age dynamic, the power dynamic of Tony being significantly more famous and higher on the socioeconomic ladder)
but at the same time, I don't want to portray Tony as a predator who takes advantage of a young teenager and blackmails them into lying about the true nature of their relationship and taking advantage of the fact that this young teenager clearly idolises them and would walk off the face of the earth for them.
Added context is important when we discuss these subject matters and it's definitely something I'm thinking of every time I work of ToaM (since Harry is 11rn and a vulnerable person) but theres also a point where added context leads to jumping to conclusions or even not seeing the whole picture.
I feel as though I work a lot with self reflection and what the characters are seeing verses that they are saying. I've never been good at 'Show Don't Tell' as a result. I'm also aware that the way I write probably shows a lack of being able to connect with my readers or hold a line of conversation. (although I blame the tism on that one)
So (although i doubt anyone would read this anyhow) whats your opinion of the way Peter and Tonys relationship is handled by the fandom? Are there any aspects of their relationship (or arguably lack thereof) that you would like me to experiment with.
#I see a lot of things were Tony monitor Peters heartbeat and records all of his time in the suit#then records all of his data and tracks his location#and while i don't necessarily disagree with a location tracker or even a device that records what Peter is seeing#I don't think that info should be in Tonys hands. Its very much so data that Peter needs to be in control of#it just comes across as very untrusting and invasive for one man in a position of power to be in control of#Peter needs to be able to work on his one#relying on the fact that he has a crutch he can use if he genuinely feels as though he needs it#but it should be up to him to make that call not his heartbeat going fast for 20seconds not his body temp changing rapidly#Tony having full access to Peters body when he's in the suit creates a power dynamic where Tony has full access to Peter#but Peter has no access to support or training from Tony#mind you the only time Tony shows up in homecoming is to tell Peter he can't handle it#SO WHAT YOU ARE HIS MENTOR TELL HIM WHAT HES DOING WRONG AND HOW TO FIX IT#Tough Love rarely helps and in Peters case he had to feel totally alone and basically give up on Tony until he was able to move forward
