I have thoughts.

I just wanted to say how much Mei has grown since the previous year, when he was hopping around trying to see Furuya and not really taking anything seriously.

Like Eijun, his character growth began with a setback - the defeat to Ugumori. His demeanour then and now are poles apart, but I don’t think that the fact he’s not crying right now is necessarily a sign he doesn’t care. I mean, his subsequent behaviour kind of shows that he does.

More, this shows how much he’s embraced the role of leading the team on the field, and also as a senpai, leading Itsuki and guiding him going forward.

This moment was beautiful and I’m glad we got to see it :)

I do feel like Mei is pretty much the only third year member of Inajitsu’s team who has faced trials, developed and come through them. He has got stronger - whereas I don’t think any of the others really have. If not for his pitching, this game would’ve been done a lot sooner.
