10+ Excellent Web Design Tools & Resources to Use in 2024 - Web Design Ledger
Tumblr media Tumblr media
It’s a New Year, but one thing hasn’t changed. The number of web design resources and tools just keeps on increasing. That’s a good thing. But it does make it that much more difficult to find a theme, plugin, or resource you really have a need for if you are to stay abreast of or leapfrog the competition.
We are in a position to make your search easier. Much easier in fact. We reviewed and tested web design tools & resources we believe many users, designers, and developers have a genuine need for. The types we believe to be essential, and that you will see in our final list of 15 are:
website builders for building landing pages and multiple-page websites quickly, easily, and without any need for coding.
WordPress plugins that can incorporate potentially game-changing functionalities, that are challenging to design, into websites.
WordPress themes for building complex and high-conversion rate websites and online stores.
Vector illustrations that can give a website a whimsical or entertaining aspect.
font identifiers to identify and provide access information to a “must have” font or fonts.
A majority of the web design resources and tools in the following list have a free or trial version:
What are a few of the important attributes these Excellent Web Design Tools & Resources for Designers and Agencies share?
They look premium. There is something about a top tool or resource that makes you wish you had acquired it a long time ago, e.g., how enjoyable it is to use.
They are intuitive. From signing up, to downloading, using, cancelling, and anything in between, everything needed is placed precisely where it should be.
They add real value. They facilitate getting more and higher paid assignments by helping you deliver web design projects faster, making your final deliverables more attractive, or both.
15 best web design Tools & Resources for Designers and Agencies
To help you in your research, we’ve included top features, customer average grade on non-biased platforms such as Trustpilot, Capterra or WordPress.org, and client feedback.
Ready? Then let’s get started.

7. WhatFontIs
The most powerful and  accurate free font identifier.
This tool’s top feature is its accuracy. WhatFontis users have a 90%+ chance of finding whatever free or licensed font they want identified.
No other system can claim that accuracy, and most of them charge a fee for whatever service they provide. It is worth noting that the ability of WhatFontis to identify a given font correctly can be compromised if the quality of the submitted image is subpar, and that is what accounts for some of the roughly 10% of missed identifications.
WhatFontis can do what it does best in part because of its database of 990K+ free and commercial fonts. This is nearly 5 times as many fonts as that attributed to the nearest competitor.
Whether the goal is to identify a specific font sent by a client, or simply because it is attractive, a customer wants to know what it is and where to find it. A search can be conducted for a font regardless of its publisher, producer, or foundry.
The process is as easy as can be.
Upload a clean font image.
In response, an AI-powered search engine identifies the font and as many as 60 close neighbors.
Links are provided that show where a free font can be downloaded or where a commercial font can be purchased.
Note: Cursive font letters must be separated before being submitted.
Client Feedback: “I came across this website courtesy Google search, used their services successfully; and today I find out it’s on product hunt! If you are ‘driven’ by the need to discover what font ‘that person/ company’ uses, then this should be your go-to solution site. For most of us it would be a once in a blue moon need, except for the professionals.”

Earlier today I had set up grocy, some thing that lets you track the groceries you have at home and reminds you if you need to buy new stuff, and I ran certbot to add the new subdomain to the certificate, but now everything is broken. For some reason https calls are directed to port 80, and if there's a redirect to https it gets stuck in a loop.
I am specifically saying https, so why is it http? I'm relatively sure that the server listening on 443 is properly configured, yet I can't properly reach it

How to Set Up Google Search Console
We will show you how to set up Search Console in 5 minutes.
Setting a Google Search Console is very easy. There are many ways to set up a search console.
Google has already given steps to set up the Google Search Console. But we are giving a user-friendly guide to set up a search console.
Why use Search Console? Google Search Console is a free tool for monitoring website performance and technical health.
A variety of metrics is available on GSC from search appearance to user experience. This helps to website to improve its performance and traffic from Google.
Things you can do with GSC:
Monitor website performance on Google Find which pages are indexed by Google Submit sitemap and individual URLs for crawling Identify technical error How to Set Up a Google Search Console Account Step 1: Sign in to Search Console With Your Google account. You need a Google account to set up Google Search Console. If you already have a Google Analytics account, Google Adwords, or Gmail, you can use the same login for this.
Step 2: Enter Your Website’s Domain (or URL-Prefix) to Add a Property. After signing in, you have the option to add a property type that is the domain or a URL prefix.
Recommend you to set up Google Search Console using a domain.
Placing up Search Console via the “Domain” option sets up your account as a domain-level property.
This implies you’re making a single property that contains all subdomains and protocol prefixes associated with your domain. In other words, this chance join Google Search Console to every element of your site.
So here’s the following action for how to set up Google Search Console with a domain-level property. Enter your site’s root domain in the access domain and hit “Continue.”
Selecting “URL-prefix” sets up a URL-prefix property.
This means you’re making a single property for only one URL prefix for your site. As such, Search Console will only be linked to one performance of your site – not the whole item with all protocols/subdomains – and so it may not deliver real data. But occasionally you have no choice but to use a URL prefix. You can Add a site with the “URL prefix”. You can also add this for specific section for your site. For example https://www.yoursite.com/blog/. After Adding URL Click on Continue.
To set up a URL-prefix property, enter a URL with a prefix in the field, and click on “Continue.”
NOTE: In order to ensure Search Console provides real data with URL-prefix properties, create a GSC property for each of the next four URLs:
https://yourdomain.com http://yourdomain.com https://www.yourdomain.com http://www.yourdomain.com If you utilize different subdomains, like blog.yourdomain.com or shop.yourdomain.com, then you’ll like to make a property for each of those too. All informed, you will have to replicate the entire Google Search Console setup procedure for each of these URLs.

Funko POP! Animation: Attack on Titan - Eren Jeager
The fate of humanity hangs in the balance. Prepare your Attack on Titan collection for battle with Eren Jeager. Eren is dedicated to freeing the world from the reign of terror of the Titans. This Attack on Titan Eren Jeager Funko Pop! Vinyl Figure #1321 measures approximately 3 3/4-inches tall and comes packaged in a window display box
From the final season of the hit anime series Attack on Titan comes a new figure of Eren Yeager!
Creating a universe of fantasy with a new storyline and character is a completely new dimension that we come across. But we often come across the element of relatability in every story we see on the big screen. Every story connects to every viewer in a different way as per their choices and their life journey. Because every story presented to us on the big screen is usually derived from the elements we come across on a daily basis. But when it comes to popularity animation has a wide range of viewers but anime is grabbing a huge chunk of the audience these days.
Transformation Of Storytelling In Anime
When it comes to storytelling initially there was an acute way of telling a story for a specific genre. But as culmination and diversity came into the picture the way of storytelling diversified drastically. One of the prime examples of exploring the storylines far beyond its genre is anime. Animation as a genre was usually considered and crafted for younger age group people. But animation grabbed everyone including adults and older age people as there is a kid in every human being. That is where the Japanese animators and storytellers grabbed an opportunity to explore and enhance the characters and storytelling in the domain of animators. Leading to the birth of Anime a subdomain of animation only but with greater story impact. But still confused as to which anime is worth a watch below are some of the prime characters of one of the most anticipated anime series “ Attack On Titans.”
Prime Characters Of Attack On Titans
Though having an amazing storyline it is the character that adds an actual value and roadmap of Attack On Titans:
Eren Yeager
The prime protagonist of the Attack On Titans series & the resident of Shiganshina District. He joins the survey corps after witnessing the massacre of Wall Maria. Where impotently had to witness his mother being eaten by a titan, thus making it a vow to not let anyone else go through the same pain. He gets to know the truth about the Titans and the evilness surrounding the world for power, once he enters his father's dungeon. He possesses the power of three titans i.e. The Attack Titan, The Founding Titan & The War Hammer Titan. If you are a true fan of attack on titans fan and you wish to purchase such anime items online then you can find these at anime figurines india.
What Can We Expect From The Final Season Of Attack On Titans
We all knew what exactly the reality of the scenario was in the attack on the titans. Which was beautifully augmented in the most unique way of storytelling to keep us gripped. But we always thought that there are some pieces of the story that will follow a particular path. In gods mind never had we ever thought Eren would be the master player not only on gaining the founding titan's power. Also marching with all titans present on the Island of Eldia to vanquish the people against Eldia and the titan power. But will he succeed in euthanizing the world who stand against the titans or die in this process?

Creative Domains Protecting Brands
It turns out that you can add a trademark Emoji (and symbol) to your, brand dot com by registering your, brandtm dot com
There is a code that normally prevents emoji from being used in dot com and the like, however as the TM code is just tm, it works.
It does raise the question do I register my, brandtm com ?
A large portion of the domain name segment is made up of companies whom are granted with pre public, registration access so that they may protect their names and the likeness of their names. In other words it probably is a very good idea.
Entry to the premium 1 word Dot Com market is prohibitively expensive for most of us, and likewise indexation is a world apart from the days of the phone book, and today great indexation opportunities occur rarely.
Recorded domain sales include Car Insurance com 49.7million in 2010 by Quinstreet. Insure com 16 million in 2009. Which is why I am thrilled to be able to discover a suitable alternative keyword dot com's that might help to "work smarter", in terms of online discoverability.
Industry executives might look at each relative (relative to the segment a domain might represent) segement's revenue from 2010 to 2024, and consider that the difference may be a factor used to help estimate a domain names valuation increase from 2010 to 2024.
For the purpose of marketing a TM creative will help people remember you, in fact they will probably never forget you as emoji design and platform support is revisited time and time again. Getting creative while owning creative, gives you pause to consider the complexity and nature of IoT, innovation, and disruptive technology.
Keyword dot coms on their own are like the roots and branches that make up the internet, all manner of keyword configurations start from the keyword and extend out.
A keyword is an upgrade to all companies of that sector, and is considered as an "infrequently traded asset". Like valuable realestate that gains value, the roots and branches grow placing more significance and weight on the keyword. As with a keyword domain, a re brand to, keywordTM com may also still reflect the original brand possibly negating disruption or out of pocket expense during the rebranding phase,. ie Acme.CarInsuranceTM.com where the Acme "subdomain" can forward to the naked domain, CarInsuranceTM.com

More research (sorry)
I looked up Tiggee, who's listed as the registrant of the (valid) IPs for the "w", "ww", and "blog" subdomains. Their website (tiggee.com) says this:
Founded in 1999, Tiggee is a project management and software development firm specializing in technology solutions for organizations of all sizes. Tiggee is a Limited Liability Company based in Northern Virginia with employees and contractors all over the globe. Tiggee has over 20 years of experience in consulting for many of the most high demand, Internet-related technologies such as domain registration, DNS, SMTP, FTP, hosting, and system administration.
Here's a link that talks about FranTech Solutions, who's listed as the registrant for the bad (non-www) IP address:
And,
In 2019, Internet abuse protection firm Abuse.ch found that FranTech Solutions hosted more than 100 malware websites, the 6th most out of any ISP in the world.
I found a tool (dnsdumpster.com) that gave me this graph. (Note: PONYNET is FranTech)
Tumblr media
It's hard to screenshot and have it be readable, so I copied this from that site:
Host Records (A) ** this data may not be current as it uses a static database (updated monthly)
fanfiction.net
209.141.39.137
hola-amigos
PONYNET - United States
blog.fanfiction.net
HTTP: Constellix HTTP Redirection
208.80.123.206
redirection.constellix.com
TIGGEE - United States
w.fanfiction.net
HTTP: Constellix HTTP Redirection
208.80.123.206

208.80.122.53
redirection.constellix.com
TIGGEE - United States
www.fanfiction.net
HTTP: cloudflare
104.18.19.242
CLOUDFLARENET - unknown
If you remember, the nameservers listed under the ICANN lookup were Constellix. No idea what "hola-amigos" is.
Out of curiosity, I did a traceroute (using online tools). This is what I got. Not sure how useful it is.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I did find something interesting - when I googled that 361 Falls Rd address and found all those different sites that look the same ... I looked up the IP addresses for those and found that the ones that look the same have the same IP address. I didn't add it to the screenshot, but non-www fanfiction.net, non-www fictionpress.com, and instiviab.pro all look the same and share an IP address.
Tumblr media
Note that the two pictured in this screenshot don't seem to have anything to do with FranTech/PONYNET.
I did a bunch more poking around at things but don't have much to share from that.
I understand the reassurances that have been going around mean well, but no, the situation with fanfiction.net is not just a case of ordinary domain spoofing.
You cannot purchase a subdomain separately from its parent domain. If fanfiction.net and www.fanfiction.net are currently resolving to different sites right now, it's because whoever has control of the parent domain, fanfiction.net, fucked up.
This doesn't necessarily mean anything untoward is going on. For example, the site could be in the process of changing hosting providers, and whoever was responsible for updating the domain's configuration accidentally pointed the bare domain and the www subdomain to different places. That happens all the time.
Given that the preponderance of evidence is that fanfiction.net's hosting has not been actively maintained for some time, however, this could also be a sign that things are falling apart even further. It'd still be a good idea to back up your stuff, just in case!

2. What is an SSL certificate and why do you need one?
An SSL certificate is a digital certificate that is used to encrypt information on a website. This helps to protect the information from being intercepted by third parties. SSL certificates are also used to verify the identity of a website.
When a website is SSL encrypted, the information that is sent between the site and the visitor's browser is encrypted. This makes it much more difficult for third parties to intercept and read the information.
SSL certificates are also used to verify the identity of a website. This is important because it helps to ensure that visitors are not being taken to a fake site. Fake sites are often used to stealing people's personal information, such as credit card numbers and passwords.
It is important to note that not all websites need an SSL certificate. If a website does not deal with sensitive information, such as credit card numbers or passwords, then an SSL certificate is not really necessary. However, if a website does deal with sensitive information, then an SSL certificate is a must.
There are many different SSL certificates available, and it is important to choose the right one for your website. The type of SSL certificate you need will depend on the type of website you have and the level of security you need.

5. Why you should never buy an SSL certificate from your web hosting provider
If you're running a website, it's important to make sure that it's secure. One way to do this is to install an SSL certificate. You might be tempted to buy an SSL certificate from your web hosting provider, but there are a few reasons why you shouldn't do this.
First of all, web hosting providers typically charge a lot more for SSL certificates than you would pay if you bought one from a dedicated SSL provider. This is because web hosting providers are middlemen who mark up the price of the certificate.
Additionally, web hosting providers often include "installation fees" and other hidden costs in their SSL certificate pricing. Dedicated SSL providers, on the other hand, typically have much more transparent pricing.
Another reason to avoid buying an SSL certificate from your web hosting provider is that they will likely put it on a shared IP address. This means that if another website on the same IP address gets hacked, your website could be vulnerable as well. If you have a dedicated IP address for your website, this is not an issue.
Finally, some web hosting providers will give you a free SSL certificate when you sign up for their service. However, these certificates are usually of low quality and may not provide the level of security that you need. It's always better to pay for a high-quality SSL certificate from a dedicated provider.
In conclusion, there are a few reasons why you shouldn't buy an SSL certificate from your web hosting provider. First of all, they charge more than dedicated SSL providers. Additionally, web hosting providers often have hidden costs, and their SSL certificates may be of low quality. Finally, your website could be put at risk if it shares an IP address with other websites.
6. How to set up Cloudflare SSL for your WordPress site
WordPress is a content management system (CMS) that allows users to create a website or blog from scratch, or to improve an existing website. WordPress is one of the most popular CMSs in use today, powering millions of websites and blogs.
One of the most important aspects of security for a WordPress site is SSL. SSL, or Secure Sockets Layer, is a protocol that encrypts communication between a website and a web browser. This encryption is important for protecting sensitive information, such as credit card numbers and passwords.
There are a number of ways to add SSL to a WordPress site. One popular option is to use a plugin. There are many WordPress SSL plugins available, and each has its own advantages and disadvantages.
Cloudflare is a security company that offers a number of security products, including an SSL certificate. Cloudflare SSL is a free SSL certificate that can be used to encrypt communication between a WordPress site and a web browser.
To set up Cloudflare SSL for your WordPress site, you will first need to sign up for a Cloudflare account. Once you have created an account, you will need to add your WordPress site to Cloudflare. After your site has been added, you will need to select the SSL certificate that you want to use. Cloudflare offers a number of different SSL certificates, including a free SSL certificate.
Once you have selected an SSL certificate, you will need to install the Cloudflare plugin on your WordPress site. After the plugin has been installed, you will need to activate the Cloudflare SSL certificate.
After the Cloudflare SSL certificate has been activated, your WordPress site will be secure and encrypted. Any sensitive information that is transmitted between your WordPress site and a web browser will be protected.
7. Final thoughts on securing your WordPress site with an SSL certificate
As we've seen, there are a number of ways to add an SSL certificate to your WordPress site. And while there's no one-size-fits-all solution, each of the plugins we've looked at has its own advantages and disadvantages.
Ultimately, the best WordPress SSL plugin for you will depend on your specific needs and the features you're looking for. However, all of the plugins we've discussed offer a great way to add an extra layer of security to your WordPress site.
If you're running an eCommerce site, then you'll definitely want to consider adding an SSL certificate. Not only will it help to keep your customers' information safe, but it can also boost your search engine ranking. And if you're accepting payments on your site, then an SSL certificate is absolutely essential.
For most other sites, an SSL certificate is not absolutely necessary. However, it is always a good idea to add one if you can. Even if you're not handling sensitive information on your site, it's still a good idea to make sure that your visitors know that their information is safe.
If you're not sure which WordPress SSL plugin is right for you, then take some time to experiment with each of them. Try out different features and see which ones you like best. And don't forget to ask your fellow WordPress users for their recommendations. If you're looking for the best WordPress SSL plugins to secure your website, look no further. Here are the 7 best plugins to keep your site safe and secure.

because these kinds of twitter shots are easy to fake, and even if real don't prove much, i just wanted to add a little extra from a quick internet search
Tumblr media
so at least it's not just a bunch of faked screenshots from some user. So i read a little from the Cyber Daily link, here's an excerpt:
---------------------------------------------
According to another post on X, VX Underground was sent a direct message from a “throwaway” account that shared the Okta link and its screenshot with the group. The group then decided to pass the information on to “other people who are better fitted to do investigative research and journalism”.
However, someone leaked the images before the investigation could conclude, with people now sharing the news of the leak and its list of alleged “protected users” on X and beyond.
What VX Underground did say was that the URL included in the leak could not be connected to, and instead, it returned 403 or 404 errors. Cyber Daily has tested the URL – http://protected-users.twitter.okay.com/1721835914 – and confirmed that it indeed 404s.
“We have no way to accurately assess if the information is accurate,” VX Underground said in a post dated 7:35am on 25 July.
While some believe the leak to be true, other commentators are not so sure. For one thing, there are several typos in the screenshot of the user list, and some have pointed out that the configuration of the alleged list makes no sense.
“Okta doesn’t do multilevel subdomains. Okta API’s don’t operate like this at all. The URL is all wrong,” said X user @scriptjunkie1.
“Data access always requires auth. They use other data formats. Anyone who’s worked with Okta config knows this is a very lazy fake, and it’s irresponsible to share.”
Several users of the Hacker News site were also leary of the list’s authenticity.
“Why would they use Okta to pass such a list of ‘protected users’ to the clients?” one user asked.
“This is obviously fake. As tech-savvy users, you should easily be able to verify this,” said another.
“The subdomain cannot resolve as it does not have a valid cert, and okta does not have an API to do this.”
Cyber Daily has not reached out to X for comment, as Elon Musk admitted in March of last year that all comments directed at the company by the media are ignored.
A journalist with better contacts, Leonard Bernardone, is saying that X has said "the images being circulated are fake".
For now, however, X’s heavy-handed banning of the account sharing the original leak is leaving some to believe it must be, in some way, true. That said, there’s currently no way to confirm the leak is real, and it should probably be taken with a grain or two of salt, no matter how believable it may be.

i was unable to quickly ascertain who owns Cyber Daily or what biases they have, but i do like a "lets wait for real proof" point of view.
My main take away is that if this does turn out to be true? exactly zero of us will be surprised, which is a solid indication of the public perception of twitter (none of us are ever going to call it x, right?) and that in and of itself shows where twitter is as a platform.
I am not convinced this one is real tho. It very well could be, but i'd like more solid evidence

Taking a Closer look at Magento SEO
Magento is one of the most common choices for websites that would like to leverage the platform's SEO capabilities to enhance their online presence.
If the platform is used properly, it can boost your revenues from anywhere between 10%-80%. So, your business can grow 3 times faster, on average than other businesses that don’t use the platform.

What are some ways through which you can improve SEO on your Magento Website?
1. Crawling and Indexing
One of the most common issues that Magento websites face is faceted navigations. This creates indexing and crawling issues as it increases the number of pages that the search engine has to crawl on to acquire information.
Thus, if your website uses faceted navigation you will have to thoroughly conduct an analysis and consider allowing only certain pages that have a higher percentage of getting indexed.
2.  URL Paths
Magento by default adds in “.html” to a website’s product as well as category URLs. This may not necessarily be bad for SEO efforts but it does end up creating lengthier URLs. This makes it difficult for users to read the URL.
This is why a cleaner easy-to-read format is preferred for SEO. While this may be an excellent option for new websites it may be catastrophic for older websites as it may result in dropping in website ranking. Thus, this should only be done if your website is brand new.
3.  Global Redirects
Magento has an amazing feature that implements global redirects on your websites. This means that if your website starts with either “www” or “https” then visitors are automatically redirected to the correct destination even if they don’t enter those subdomains.
This is a great way to enhance user experience as visitors are directed to your website even if they do not enter the correct URL of your website.
4.  Structured Data
This procedure is a great way to improve the search engine’s understanding of your website and boost your e-commerce Magento SEO.
Magento websites can quite often be very large thus a structured data approach can be a great way to give search engines a better understanding of your website pages.
An organized mapping of structured data including categories such as home page, category page, product page and blog can be used to help Google understand the content of your e-commerce store.

For technical documentation, blogs, and articles, it's usually a good idea to distinguish between a link within a site (internal) and a link to another site (external), because while reading a blog or technical documentation, clicking a link and accidentally redirecting to external site. A nice UX pattern is to display an "external link" icon next to external links. There is a simple way to implement this is using CSS. In CSS, the attribute value selector allows you to select elements based on the value of an attribute. It follows the syntax [attribute=value], where "attribute" is the name of the attribute you want to target, and "value" is the specific value you want to match. Here's an example: Add An Icon to External Links cssCopy code a[target="_blank"]::after content: ""; width: 11px; height: 11px; margin-left: 4px; background-image: url("data:image/svg+xml,%3Csvg xmlns='http://www.w3.org/2000/svg' width='16' height='16' fill='currentColor' viewBox='0 0 16 16'%3E%3Cpath fill-rule='evenodd' d='M8.636 3.5a.5.5 0 0 0-.5-.5H1.5A1.5 1.5 0 0 0 0 4.5v10A1.5 1.5 0 0 0 1.5 16h10a1.5 1.5 0 0 0 1.5-1.5V7.864a.5.5 0 0 0-1 0V14.5a.5.5 0 0 1-.5.5h-10a.5.5 0 0 1-.5-.5v-10a.5.5 0 0 1 .5-.5h6.636a.5.5 0 0 0 .5-.5z'/%3E%3Cpath fill-rule='evenodd' d='M16 .5a.5.5 0 0 0-.5-.5h-5a.5.5 0 0 0 0 1h3.793L6.146 9.146a.5.5 0 1 0 .708.708L15 1.707V5.5a.5.5 0 0 0 1 0v-5z'/%3E%3C/svg%3E"); background-position: center; background-repeat: no-repeat; background-size: contain; display: inline-block;   If you’d like to exclude certain domains from displaying the icon (for example subdomains) you can set the icon to be hidden with something like: cssCopy code a[href^="https://example.com"]::after display: none !important;   The CSS examples above are to be used within the section of a page, and isn’t intended for navbars, footers or elsewhere where the font size and colors may differ - where automating the appearance of these links may not be appropriate. The icon used in the example above is Bootstrap’s ‘box arrow up-right’ icon , but feel free to switch to something else such as Font Awesome’s External-Link-Alt’ icon . I used the neat URL-encoder for SVG service to convert the SVG code. You might also like: CSS Tutorial #1- :nth-child() Selector Best Way To Use Target=”_Blank” Attribute For SEO
