We’re so excited to share some amazing news with you all! Infinite Hearts Dog Sanctuary has officially rescued our very first dog – Lucky (formerly known as Rufus)! 🐕💙 Lucky came to us after facing some tough challenges, but now he’s safe, loved, and ready to start his new journey with us.

Right now, Lucky is undergoing heartworm treatment and getting all the care he needs to become his happiest, healthiest self. We’ll be sharing his entire transformation here—through updates, photos, and videos—so you can follow along as he makes progress every step of the way. 📸🐾

Once Lucky is ready for his forever home, we’ll announce his adoption journey and give everyone the chance to meet this special boy who stole our hearts. 🏡💕

About Us 🌈🐾 – Infinite Hearts Dog Sanctuary

Welcome to Infinite Hearts Dog Sanctuary, where every pawprint leaves a mark on our hearts! 🐾❤️ We’re Jamie and Michael, the proud founders of this sanctuary, built on love, second chances, and a deep passion for helping animals in need. 🏡💖

After two years of offering dog-sitting services, we’ve officially opened our sanctuary with a mission to rescue, rehabilitate, and provide forever homes for dogs facing challenges like abandonment, neglect, or medical issues. 🐕💕 Whether they stay with us or find their perfect family, every dog receives the care, love, and respect they deserve.

Supporting veterans and active-duty service members is close to our hearts, as I come from a military family. My stepfather, aunt, uncle, and grandfather all served in the military, and we are proud to continue that spirit of service through the sanctuary. 🎖️🐾 If a veteran or service member is unable to care for their pet—whether they’re deploying or facing an emergency—we’re here to help by fostering their companions or finding them a new, loving home.

Our journey began with our personal crew of fur babies—Pepe 🐕 (Pomsky), Penny 🐾 (Chihuahua), Jolene 🐶 (Great Dane puppy), and our newest rescue, Lucky 🐕‍🦺 (formerly Rufus), who is currently came to us from GA and Romeo (formerly Alfie) 🐕‍🦺 from SC . Rounding out the family are our two playful kitties, Tori 🐈 and Walker 🐱, who add even more joy to our home.

Through our blog, we’ll share rescue stories, sanctuary updates, events, and ways you can help make a difference. 🌟 Whether through donations, volunteering, or simply spreading the word, every act of kindness helps us give these dogs the second chance they deserve. 🥰

‼️‼️Poor Sammy he’s innocently playing with his ball, without a clue that a plea, was issued for him with a DEADLINE of 7/2/21‼️‼️ . Sammy #A2193107 was moved away from the adoption floor because he was very reactive in the room full of dogs. He was seen in playgroups and he's actually good with them. But in the room he takes his frustration out on them. He’s much calmer now in the back where it’s quieter . He’s really a good boy that needs a calmer environment . I 💘 every 🐕 and those that ride the #shelterstrugglebus hold an extra special place in my ❤. And one of those pups right now is at Dallas Animal Services and his name is Ace. His deadline is 12 noon tomorrow. 😞 Ace came to be a resident because he wasn't a fan of the other pups in the house. And in playgroup it is just too much for him. I get it. I get claustrophobic in crowds and so does Ace. He DEFINITELY needs to put on some weight and that is kinda a fun project. He doesn't know all the 😎 treats there are for dogs and that things like string cheese are good. Imagine never getting a treat in 3 years?😞 Ace never got a chance in his three years so far to learn how fun it is to go for hikes and walks around the lake to 👀 ducks. So he gets over excited on the leash. So..he needs a little help with that. Nothing that a few days won't change. Everything that is nice and a 🐕 should enjoy he hasn't gotten to enjoy. Clear the Shelters August 18

Citrus County Animal Services is pleased to be participating in WFLA-TV / News Channel 8 (“WFLA”) popular pet adoption drive Clear the Shelters. Launching in August and culminating with ‘Clear the Shelters’ day on Saturday, August 18. This is the station’s second year participating in the national Clear the Shelters initiative, which will include 22 animal shelters and rescues from the station’s viewing area. The Citrus County Clear the Shelter event will take place on August 18 with extended hours at the Shelter at 4030 S. Airport Rd., Inverness, starting at 8 am with vendors, entertainment, food, chance drawings, and giveaways (for adopters and visitors). During the event there will be tips and exhibitions from dog trainers, dog playgroup exhibitions, and a Kids Activity Area. Adoption fees will be waived (Citrus County Residents will be required to pay $10 license fee). Come and support the Citrus County animal shelter while having a fun day out with friends and family! The Shelter is currently critically overcapacity with 128 dogs and 91 cats. The Shelter is looking for adopters, fosters, and rescue partners. Most of the cats and dogs are already to go (spayed/neutered, all age and species appropriate testing and vaccines, microchipped, and flea/tick/Heartworm preventative) immediately. Citrus County does not charge Rescue Partners a pull fee The adoption fee is waived on all animals that have been at the shelter for 30 days or over. Clear the Shelters is a national program that News Channel 8 participates in each year along with its local shelter partners. “WFLA is committed to finding forever homes for pets in need. We are proud to be a part of this national initiative resulting in placing more than 150,000 pets with families willing to offer them a loving home. News Channel 8 is truly On Your Side of the pets on this one,” said Skip Valet, VP and General Manager of News Channel 8. NBC and Telemundo stations across the country will team up for the annual ‘Clear the Shelters’ animal adoption drive.
