Merlin is complex character, and yet to explore.

He doesn't remember Mirael, but he knows in his heart he adores her. He goes around to find clues, and pulled her from being the suspect of arson in ryeham. Because? He believes it's wasn't her and it's sure indeed, even he wasn't even remember she's was once his student, but somehow in his heart, he knew even he doesn't have time to know his own heart.
