[Book Review] 🖋Agatha Cristie [Little People, Big Dreams]🖋
🧮 Score: 3.5/5.0
Tumblr media
■ Emphasising the values of determination and creativity, this book provides a simplified version of the life of the Queen of Mystery; Agatha Christie. My personal favourite of her many books is “Peril at The End House”.
It is not only a biography but also an inspirational read. It encourages children to persevere and follow their dreams and believe in their abilities, inshaAllah, anyone can achieve greatness. An empowering quality to nurture.
Tumblr media
■ The illustrations are whimsical and colourful, adding a visual dimension that complements the storytelling. Starting with Agatha’s childhood and early influences, weaving through her passion for writing and her contributions to the world of literature. The narrative is presented simply and engagingly to children without sacrificing the essence.
Tumblr media
■ The inclusion of real photographs of Agatha Christie at different stages of her life allows us to relate to the real person behind the legendary author.
Tumblr media
■ Overall, this is a captivating educational book that introduces young readers to the life of a literary icon. Perhaps, it serves as a fantastic starting point for nurturing an early interest in literature as well as knowing more about the remarkable life of Agatha Christie.

I loved Nemesis by Agatha Chritie
totally recommended. It is a story of suspense and mystery that is connected to the book "a Caribbean mystery". In it Miss Marple must solve a crime committed years ago at the request of a friend.

... created collages often using found images in a vintage style. Most of her works had a pointedly humourous or ironic tone. she also utilised pop cultar referance in her works to cleverly eluded to double meanings. these referances were definitly aimed at an older generation however (an example being a referance to an agatha chritie novel or actresses from old hollywood) so im sure there were many more that went over my head.
her works coverd super relvent issues such as gender inequality and the climate crisis using mediums and a style that would most likley atracct an older generation than myself. her works reminded me of art my freinds mothers had in their houses, aprochable, nostalgic yet still with an edge often due to the message.
while the aesthetic of the style used does not relate to my own plans for my work this couse, the idea of collecting and collating found souces into a singular work does. i am intending to explore ideas of langouge and the way thought prosses occur. this has alot to do with responding and reproducing found images, words ect. it also mirrors Anne Lippard’s work nicley with taking found souces from their orginal context and looking at them as an indervidual thing or placing them in a new different context.

Me, thinking about my OTP: What steps are necessary to get them to investigate a murder, but like, in an Agatha Chritie-esque way?

So I have been meaning to write humor, and this is dead humor. Has footnotes, read the work and then the footnotes to not spoil your reading experience. If you love thrillers, stop reading Maya’s work and read Agatha Chritie. If you love humor, stop reading this and go search for Varun Grover on YouTube, ok bye!

Gosto de viver. Algumas vezes me sinto muito desesperadamente, loucamente miserável, atormentada pela aflição, mas mesmo diante disso tudo eu compreendo que estar viva é uma coisa grandiosa.

It’s 2020 everyone …. !!!!! And it’s time for the first tag of the year. So, I thought why not start with something that’s one of my most favorite everyday item – COFFEE 🙂 I love my daily morning dose of caffeine and I can’t imagine starting my day without it. So, I hope this tag will bring a fresh new beginning to my blog this year. I saw this tag a long time ago on Lauren’s blog @ Lala’s Book Reviews and I knew I had to do it someday, and I’m glad it’s finally here.
Black coffee: A series that’s tough to get into but has hardcore fans:
I have found it not easy to get into the Mistborn trilogy but it’s definitely one of the most talked about series in booktube or the r/fantasy community on Reddit. And hopefully, I’ll finally be able to get to it this year.
Peppermint mocha: A book that gets more popular during winter or a festive time of year:
I’m not sure but I think many people love rereading HP during the winter. I know I used to. And that’s probably one reason they seem to release the illustrated editions of the books just before the holidays. But I haven’t reread them in a while, and I don’t know if I will anytime soon.
Hot Chocolate: Your favorite children’s book:
I don’t think I’ve read all of these but I loved all of the Famous Five books I read in my childhood and they, along with Sherlock Holmes started my obsession for fictional detectives.
Double shot of espresso: A book that kept you on the edge of your seat from start to finish:
Wow I can’t describe how tense and edge of the seat I was while reading Jade City. The build up and tension in it is just brilliant.
Starbucks: Name a book you see everywhere:
I have been seeing this book everywhere for almost a few months now and I’m very excited to read it, hopefully soon.
The hipster coffee shop: Give a book by an indie author a shout-out:
I actually don’t keep track of the publishers of the books I’m reading, so I really don’t have an answer for this.
Oops! I accidentally ordered decaf: Name a book that you expected more from:
I always expect a lot from Christina Lauren’s books because they have given me some amazing ones before, but the least I know I will get from them is some joy and laughs and banter. Twice in a Blue Moon just didn’t have much of any of these elements and that disappointed me a lot.
The perfect blend: Name a book or series that was both bitter and sweet, but ultimately satisfying:
I binge read the complete Bone Witch trilogy last year and it was definitely one of my most satisfying reads of 2019, and that ending was both amazing and bittersweet and made me cry a lot.
Chai Tea: Name a book or series that makes you dream of far off places:
This might come as a surprise but all the books in Steve Berry’s Cotton Malone series make me dream of far off places because the action in these books moves between lots of countries very effortlessly, and the locations (particularly the historical palaces and museums) are described beautifully.
Earl Grey: Name your favorite classic:
I love my two favorite Jane Austen novels and recently some Agatha Chritie, but my most memorable will always be The Hound of Baskervilles.
I Tag:
Kat || Leelynn || Charlotte || And anyone else enjoys their daily cup of coffee, please consider yourself tagged and have fun doing it !!!
