This is almost entirely unchanged from the original, I've just gone over them all with watercolour to fit the rest of my wildlife fact file pics. I will therefore copy-pasta all the text from last time.

Makakis came about because screw horses. Horses are way too finicky. Horsey people are very knowledgeable about horses; I couldn't give a shit about horses. I give up trying to make my horses realistic.

Also, on a side note after seeing a bandicoot digging at Mum's lawn yesterday, I had the idea that most mammals in Tsyllaes should really be marsupials, what with it being based pretty heavily on Australia and all.

I decided to try combining these ideas, starting with real marsupials, the extinct megafauna. Honestly the only one big enough to ride is the giant wombat, which absolutely bloody exist in Tsyllaes now, but not overly convenient as a steed. I looked then at extinct mammals to see if anything else might be useful, and came across the macrauchenia, some weird South American creature which was its own evolutionary branch, unrelated to anything else that currently exists. The closest they've got is the tapir/horse/elephant branch. PERFECT. Also I can find virtually no info about this thing.

The common makaki is the one people think of whenever they think of a makaki. In keeping with their not-horse origins, their patterning is generally anything that a horse can be, as well as in keeping with their being marsupials, anything marsupials can be. They're about 2m tall at the shoulder, so significantly bigger than horses, but they're also very chill with sitting, most often lounging like kangaroos. I wanted to draw one lounging here but I needed to show the heights, so I'll do that when I eventually draw the Own's makakis. They have three toes on each foot, which makes them more agile and gives them stronger ankles than horses so the sodding things don't break their ankles. They live mostly in the mountains and hills of Kazin, Llayad and northern Raykin, where they use their snoots to pull leaves off of trees for food, occasionally fruit if they can get it but they're fine off leaves. They're suited to Kazin's open forests and the plains of Llayad, not so good in full desert with their comparatively small feet and need for water. Those from tropical forests and the Llayan savanna have no mane while those from the colder mountains have manes all the way down their back. The particularly cold border between Llayad and Kazin also breeds them with floofier coats. Llayans call these ones Kazinian makakis, because Llayad has their own 'common' one.

The destrier is the one bred for battle. Bigger than the common makaki and with very strong legs, especially the back legs for springing forward from a stationary start. They have the longest tusks of all makaki breeds which can be an extra weapon in battle, and longer trunks, too, cos. I dunno. I felt like playing with the trunks. I'm sure there's an application for that. Also, side-note, this one's Mongrel! After drawing all the boys' makakis, I've better figured out how their anatomy goes, so I've tweaked this one a fair bit from the original, giving him longer, thicker legs and changing how the back legs kink to be more like how I've been drawing them, a bit more strength and spring to them.

Oooooh he's a big, beefy boy, this one. The draft makaki has been bred for pure strength, huge forequarters for pulling heavy carts and plows, big feets for digging, strong trunk and tusks for pushing over trees and hauling branches.

By complete contrast, Assiraz's makaki is bred purely for looks. The more snowy white, the pricier the animal, except their swishy gorgeous tail which has all the colours. Long, elegant legs and slender, curving neck. They're named after Empress Assiraz, who was the one to start breeding them in the first place. Literally their only use is to keep nobility's skirts clean and elevate them above the plebs, so in that regard they're highly practical. For anything much else, they're kinda useless.

Native to the tropics and bred for its meat, the stocky little tapi has patterning on its back like a giraffe and range from grey, like the above, to dark brown with black spots to better camouflage. They taste like camel. I've never eaten camel so just roll with it.

DONKEY. Or more technically a mule, but I just wanted to call it a donki. It's a hybrid between a tapi mare and common stallion to make a smaller makaki, less fragile in the legs giving them greater endurance than the common makakis, but because they're much smaller they're cheaper for the average Kazinian. More than half the donkis are sterile, which makes those ones nice and cheap for the poorer Kazinians, and even those which can breed are still significantly cheaper than common makakis and WAY cheaper than draft makakis.

The two Llayan makakis, first one just called the 'Llayan makaki,' but, as mentioned before, Llayans call this one the 'common makaki' and the other one the 'Kazinian makaki'. She reach! And she has a foal in her pouch :D Llayan makakis are a bit smaller than the Kazinian ones. Also, because they're not actually zebras, the dark stripes can be any colour, though herds are mostly all of one colour.

Secondly, the rigaffe! Tollu girl is tollu, though I did shrink her a bit from the original. I think they also have colour variations, too, but always with the giraffe-like patterning. If you're wondering how the joey gets back in the pouch, it doesn't. Once the joey has left the pouch, that's it, it's out for good.

However, the black plumage is more subtle in colour than it first appears, with a blue-green iridescent sheen evident at close range. In the open it flies, rising awkwardly, with quick flaps and glides - like a ragged kite. Among trees the species moves confidently, reflecting its agility. On the ground the tail is often held high as the bird 'kangaroo-hops' along. The raucous, cackling, call is given frequently, reflecting the intensely competitive and social nature of this species. Young Magpies have a washed-out appearance and short, stubby tails.

i've always found it odd* that "australasia" more frequently refers to australia + new zealand than it does australia + new guinea, our closest neighbor, which even shares some of the same fauna.

some of the species which can be found in both australia and new guinea include the agile wallaby, striped possum, and common spotted cuscus. new guinea also has its own species of quolls, tree kangaroos, and cassowaries.

*but not surprising.

all borders are arbitrary but some are just absurd. throwing together a list of post-colonization australian extinctions, and every list ever features a number of animals from islands which are significantly closer to new zealand or new caledonia than to australia, or an island in the indian ocean less than 200 miles south of java and sumatra. i'm going to have to add a disclaimer that the scope of the website has been restricted to the parts of the country that are actually on the sahul continental shelf (in other words, australia the country and australia the continent)

it would be more sensible to include extinctions from new guinea / papua since it's on the same shelf, but hardly any source does this.

Gowrow

[The gowrow is yet another monster derived from a 19th century newspaper hoax--in this case, it appears to be something of a copycat of the hodag, moved from Wisconsin to Arkansas. Modern depictions of the gowrow are typically saner and more animalistic, making it look something like an alligator with a stinger and tusks, but I like this weird scaly monkey-walrus. Pathfinder RPG already has a gowrow, but it’s a dragon, and not a very creative one.

John LeMay, in Cowboys and Saurians, suggests a link between the gowrow, the hodag, and the underwater panther of the Great Lakes peoples. I can see the physical resemblance, as all three blend mammalian and reptilian attributes, have long tails and spiny backs, and the ears of the underwater panther could become horns or tusks with some imagination. But I have to wonder. How well known was the underwater panther in the 1890s? Especially for local businessmen and newspaper editors to borrow the image for publicity stunts?]

Gowrow CR 10 N Magical Beast This creature looks something like a scaled, spiny kangaroo, tall as a cottage. It has a drooping face with long tusks pointing downward, webbed and clawed hands and feet, and a long tail ending in a scythe-like blade.

A gowrow is a powerful predator of marshes and swamps. They are of animalistic intelligence, but cunning, and use their scything tails like axes to fell trees. They use these to dam rivers, making ponds and marshes like those of beavers, and then prey on creatures lured to the water source. If prevented from making these dams, or if prey becomes scarce, they will venture farther in search of food, often preying on livestock because of their convenient concentration. Gowrows do not go out of their way to prey on humanoids, but have no compunctions about doing so.

A gowrow attacks from ambush if it can—doing so typically requires the creature to be submerged, as they are massive and not particularly agile on land. They fight with their array of natural weapons, the most deadly of which is the bone blade that tips their tail. A gowrow can whip this tail around in a deadly frenzy, striking multiple opponents in quick succession, but doing so disorients the creature, and it rarely uses this attack unless surrounded. Its hair-trigger nerves also fire when the creature is knocked unconscious, so knowledgeable hunters take care to keep a safe distance from a gowrow before making a kill.

Gowrows hunt in the water, but typically lair in caves or burrows on drier ground. Despite their reptilian appearance, a gowrow is a mammal. The scales are made from compressed keratin, like those of a pangolin. Males compete for female attention by making seesawing, booming calls (this “gow-row” noise is the origin of their names). After mating, female gowrows lay a single leathery egg, about the shape and size of a pony keg, and then rear the young in a pouch on the underside as it matures. During this time, the mother must resort to land bound prey in order to keep her baby from drowning, until the juvenile reaches about half adult size, whereupon it leaves the pouch and can take care of itself while the mother hunts.

Rockhampton is a friendly place of almost 80,000 which makes it the 22nd largest city in Australia. Many of its inhabitants are either graziers or in the supply or support of the cattle industry. Others use Rocky as a dormitory town working in the mining industry in Blackwater. Well that's the statistics. It has an airport and it has botanical gardens with a zoo. So within easy walking distance that is where we went. It is literally around two corners from where we're staying but the look of incredulity on the face of the lady in the tourist information kiosk at the zoo that we walked you might think it was two counties away. We are both of the same mindset that zoos ought not be necessary, but we hurried to catch the start of the talk on crocodiles. It really revolved around one particular specimen, the Colonel a salty type. He was about 40-50 years of age, measures in at 4.3m and weighs 450-500 kg. You can understand why this might not be a precise figure because he is happy where he is, enticing onto the Boots weighing scales could be tricky. Remarkably the Colonel started life in the wild, but was upsetting the eco system of the Northern Queensland farm stocks so they caught him and shipped him off to the Karoona Crocodile Farm with an idea he might be useful stock for breeding. Sadly he had two girlfriends both of which he ate. This did nothing for his CV on the dating site so it was thought a more solitary life was more suitable. Which is how he ended up in Rockhampton Zoo. He is an opportunistic killing/ eating machine of immense capability and agility in the water despite mournfully looking at the keeper in the corner of his pool hoping for a titbit or two. Or even a small child perhaps.

Dingos, cassowaries, wedge tailed eagle, kangaroos, Emus were on offer as well. The croc man also told us about the Dingo or as the farmers lobby like to refer to as Wild Dog which gives it a bit of a reputation. Supporters of the Dingo say he is maligned and should be seen as part of the eco system. Arial shots of the Dingo fence say the land is greener on the Dingo side where they will attack kangaroos and other plant/ grass eaters thus allowing vegetation to thrive more.

The botanical gardens were beautiful and despite a cyclone coming through a couple of years ago and removing some 50% of trees the remaining grounds were neat and rich in wildlife. The lilly lakes were teaming with turtles and birds.

We returned to the apartment and then all hands to the pumps as we started to pack. Two cases needed to go to the railway station in readiness for the trip tomorrow to Brisbane. Then dash back filling the Nissan with petrol and taking it back to Mr Avis at Rockhampton Airport. We are now pedestrians again after 4 weeks.

It will be a very early start in the morning. The tilt train leaves at 7.10am!

Appearance

Eyes: Naturally yellow/golden/amber (nobody knows why, since their parent’s eyes are brown) but both hers and Jacob's eyes are like this). She wears glasses for her Astigmatism.

Hair: Naturally dark brown, but she asked her mother to turn it red when she turned 8 and doesn't plan on undoing it any soon.

• She’s average tall and reasonably strong build, honey-brown skin littered with scars from venturing with the vaults and being freaking attacked by dark wizards, big hands and feet due to her height. A large chest that grows at once in her 4th year (”Everybody's starring, Rowan!”).

• She keeps her nails short. Her makeup is often down to just some lipstick (mascara smudges her glasses, eye shadow irritates her eyes), her hair is often long wavy and fluffed for extra volume. She often smells like coconut oil from all the creams her mother insisted she used.

• She looks a lot like her father which gives her a rather rough look - like a handsome but wild animal - yet has enough of her mother’s attributes to be considered attractive and poise if well-groomed.

Magical Aspects

1st Wand: Red Oak wood with Dragon Heartstring core, 12″, pliable. "The true match for a red oak wand is possessed of unusually fast reactions, making it a perfect dueling wand. Its ideal master is light of touch, quick-witted and adaptable, often the creator of distinctive spells, and a good person to have beside in a fight." Indigo had good times with her red oak wand but as the years went by, her emotions start affecting the wand's efficiency. The wand would bleed a glowing red light in moments of extreme physical or emotional pain and become extremely unstable.

2nd Wand: Beechwood with Thestral hair core, 13", rigid flexibility. "The true match for a beech wand will be, if young, wise beyond their years, and if full-grown, rich in understanding and experience. Beech wands perform very weakly for the narrow-minded and intolerant. When properly matched, the beech wand is capable of a subtlety and artistry rarely seen in any other wood, hence its lustrous reputation." Indigo has a hard time adapting to her new wand, it's stubborn to her spells and acts upon its own will especially considering its unusual and unstable core, Thestral hair, which is of unknown habilities, except for its use in the mythical, Elder wand. Her wand is one of a kind which is why she has to adapt her abilities to match the wand's requirements. Despite all, it's a remarkable instrument for undoing curses/spells and detecting danger.

Animagus: Somali cat. She's already certain she wants to be a cat animagus - harmless, of easy blend, and enables an approach to humans -, but decides for the Somali breed, during the process, for its sumptuous golden fur and agility.

Patronus: Kangaroo, for its fighting spirit and family values, not to mention its strength. (In-game it's the Abraxan, but only because I thought it would be cool.)

Patronus memory: (During the first times) Her first Quidditch match, not just because they won but because everyone she loves from Hogwarts was there, and she got to cheer their victory together. (Later years) Her family gathering for hot cocoa during a rainy night with Jacob with them.

Abilities: Legilimency, and great emotional influence over magic (Don't get her frightened or angry or she will blow you up).

Boggart:  Her boggart changes constantly - she can't decide if it's either because she overcame the old fears, or if the new ones toppled those, creating a pile of fears. And since the new DADA teacher is always teaching Riddikulus again and again, the famous curse-breaker is always the most awaited in the line.

Jacob, eyes dark and musty, clothes covered in blood, someone's blood. He walks to her and slowly raises his sleeve, the Death mark is craved deep in his flesh and it glows. Behind him, it rises the Dark Lord.

Riddikulus: He turns into a younger version of himself from a photograph she recalls laughing about with her mom (he's running wearing a loaded diaper, crazy hair, rosy cheeks).

For a while is someone in a cloak threatening to cast the killing curse over her friends, whispering each of their names like a snake but she's frozen unable to stop them.

Riddikulus: The cloak falls to reveal a bunch of gnomes piled up wearing wigs and makeup.

For another, very realistic corpses of all of her friends spread at her feet, a dark wizard across from her, it's over and there isn't anything she can do to save them anymore - it was a grim day in DADA, but they all wanted to see it didn't they?

Riddikulus: This is the one time she fails to defeat a boggart, letting the horrible scene consume her, she falls to her knees defeated, and even after Rakepick's shouting, when she tries to cast the spell, it fails again and again.

This last boggart came to show everyone around her how truly terrified she was, not for her own life, but for that of those around her. How despite the confidence she was constantly displaying, in reality, she was afraid she couldn't save them from whatever was trying to get her.

Amortentia: Her Amortentia smells like Jacob's cologne — which he used to borrow from their father which is why she recalls so easily —, fresh Catnip ever since she became an animagus, bakings just out of the oven — extra intensity if there's chocolate involved, and freshly washed sweaters (from hugging Barney and the Weasleys).

Mirror of Erised: She's under the shadow of a tree, Jacob on one side along with Phoenix and Aspen, Barnaby's head resting on her lap, Rowan by her side, and Orion for some reason. They're laughing and reading books, it's an eternal spring afternoon.

Miscellaneous

Pets: A Sphynx cat, Mocca, a brown and white rat, Franccesca, and (later in her Hogwarts years) a Great Horned owlet, Plum.

Things she always carries with her: Her wand (duh), a handmade Gryffindor bracelet that used to belong to Jacob, the Handbook of Magical Theory, a handful of peppermints, a pouch with some money, a flask of Wideye potion, some Murtlap Essence, and a family photo during Christmas of 1980.

Best Friends

Her brother, Phoenix, takes the crown in matter of importance because, well, they're siblings who grew up practically like twins, but their relationship deserves their own detailing.

Rowan has got to be the first. Not only they share the same adventurous nerdy spirit, but Rowan also is the one to stick around even when everything is dark and uncertain and Indigo's popularity plummets. Indigo is always excited to hear whatever Rowan has to say - most times about books or Bill Weasley - and she's rarely fazed by the weird things Rowan does.

Murphy McNully is a close second, having officially met in the middle of her second year, they're both still fresh in a matter of friendships which allows them to open up, both in desperate need of company and support. He's often a companion in the girl's library and common room study sessions and sits with them during meals.

Charlie Weasley has her heart and soul from the moment they first speak during year one, but it actually takes a while until they form any real bond, which begins after he finds out she has been seeking his brother's help to search for the cursed vaults.

Ben is a friend she cherishes deeply but often finds it hard to break through his protective shell which makes him feel distant even when he opens up to her. Unlike her friends, she grows more liking towards Ben after he has his change in personality, as he feels more open about himself.

Chiara is a friend she deeply appreciates for her courage in reaching out for her help in times of need and trusting her with her secret. In Marauder fashion, she likes keeping an eye on her on the nights of full moon - which is good to train her cat tree climbing. They often have afternoon tea together and she teaches Indigo useful healing spells.

Andre and Indigo didn't have a great start, as she thought of him as arrogant and inconsiderate, and he thought she was careless and selfish. But when she helps him with a transfiguration mishap during their 3rd year when he was trying to be creative - and the reason he now has a two-headed cat - they start opening up to each other and begin a friendship. He's a good friend to confide in about the mundane aspects of her life and Quidditch intrigues.

Orion means to her more than she can put into words. Not only he is her team captain, but also a dear friend whom she turns to in times of emotional instability cause she knows he'll be the one to successfully help her clear her mind. They enjoy each other's company even if they don't have anything interesting to say. They sit together during every Divination class for as long as the subject goes.

She has no "rivals" as she finds that sort of labeling quite petty, but would definitely punch Emily Tyler on the stomach and perhaps Face Paint kid for all his eavesdropping.

She has an easier time bonding with her fellow Gryffindors since they spend most of their time together in classes, lunch, and hanging around in the common room.

Dormmates: She and Rowan got placed in a room for three people, as the ones for five were already full, along with a girl called Tanya. But at the beginning of their 4th year, they find out she has bailed out to another dorm room claiming they 1. Snort and speak in their sleep on a regular basis, 2. Will eventually endanger her with their cursed vault shenanigans, 3. Will get her killed - which, spoilers, actually happens, oops. So they basically have the dorm for themselves.

Favorite Professor: Kettleburn. Despite CoMC not being on her top favorite subjects, she enjoys her time in his classes and reminds her of her grandfather on her father's side who's a highlander wizard.

Quidditch Position: Chaser. Despite enjoying her time as Gryffindor's beater, she notices the position takes a toll on her physical wellbeing, having to carry a heavy bat and being injured by bludgers more times than she can keep track of. So she returns to her chaser position after a year.

Favorite Team: Montrose Magpies. She never had an interest in Quidditch before she began playing but decided to pick a team to support. Of course, it had to be a Scottish team and settles for MM because of professor McGonagall who's also a supporter.

She's not indigo's face claim, but it's hard to find good red-haired characters out there.

I guess I'll leave her background and history for another post since it interweaves very tightly with her sibling. And since I'm still exploring her story.

My Hero Academia 1A students sorted into DnD

If they don’t have a background then they have the scholar background as they’ve all attended the adventuring school Ultra Academy. 

So firstly Tsuyu Asui is a half Grung half human sailor shepherd circle druid. She has the Mobile feat. She uses a spear and light armour in battle. She isn’t particularly interested in the gods, but her favourite is Habbakuk, god of animal life and the sea, and she always makes sure to make offerings and prayers to all of the sea gods before making a voyage.

Katsuki Bakugo, he’s a 1/4 orc and human wild magic barbarian.* He has the Crusher and Chef feats. He uses two spiked maces and has minimal armour. His top stats are intelligence and strength, charisma and wisdom are his worst ones. He admires and occasionally prays to Heironeous but doesn’t like to rely or seak help from the gods. He knows common, orcish and sign language for both. His father, Masaru Bakugo, is a College of Glamour bard. His mother, Mitsuki Bakugo, is a College of Glamour bard who specializes in yelling very persuasively and having beautiful clothes.

Mina Ashido is a tiefling with a copper draconic bloodline for her sorcery. Her favourite spell is acid splash. She uses a sling and has no armour only incredible looks. She doesn’t particularly follow any gods but her favourite is Sune. She has the feats Alert and Performer. She’s proficient in both poisoners and herbalism kits.

Koji Koda is a shepherd circle druid firbolg hermit. He has the Animal Handler feature. He doesn’t usually use a weapon but carries a quarter-staff just in case. Follower of the neutral nature god Obad-Hai. His familiar is a rabbit (or an owl sometimes) named Mustard. Summon Nature’s Ally is his favourite spell. He knows Common, Elvish, Giant, Druidic sign language and can also speak common. 

Fumikage Tokoyami is a kenku ranger with a black eagle companion named Dark Shadow. He has the Crossbow Expert feat and Shadow Touched. He uses a heavy crossbow and has a ton of knives. He had a phase where he followed Tharizdun, god of eternal darkness before he admitted that he couldn’t follow a chaotic evil, treacherous god. He’s moved on to Kelemvor, the lawful neutral god of the dead (and Milil god of poetry and song). He really likes the Raven Queen too.

Izuku Midoriya is a multi class human Champion fighter and an Oath of Glory paladin. He has the Observant and Charger feats. He uses a sword and shield. His top stats are strength and intelligence, constitution is his dump stat. He has great respect for the gods in particular the demi-god All for One, Heironeous and Torm the god of self sacrifice and courage. He’s a paladin in the service of All for One but externally pretends to serve Heironeous. His father left when he was a baby and his mother is a baker and Divine Soul sorcerer who’s favourite spell is Mage Hand. He’s proficient in the calligrapher’s kit. 

Princess Momo Yaoyorozu is a human noble maverick artificer. She has the Skilled and Quick-Smithing features. She uses a quarter-staff. Her family follows the goddess of wealth and trade, Shinare. Their family symbol is the sun - as the sun is often a symbol of creation. So they also have a history with the god of Pelor, who also has the sun as their symbol. There is a sacred tree to Pelor in the family’s gardens. Her family rules from Musutafu the capital of Kara-Tur.

Prince Shoto Todoroki is a half elf half human noble sorcerer from white and red draconic blood lines. He has the feats Mage Slayer and Weapon Master and thus uses a rapier. He’s a prince on the run from his father currently going by the alias Perry (because I nicknamed him Katy Perry because he’s hot and cold... I know I’m hilarious). He doesn’t follow is merely very respectful of the gods.

Denki Kaminari is a human storm sorcerer. High charisma, low intelligence. He has the War Caster and Linguist features. He has a lightning rod like staff. When he’s out of spell slots roll a D4. Even he’s fine, odd and he’s short circuited and his intelligence is down to 1 until he’s had a short rest. If the last spell he casts hits though he does triple damage. He is a follower of the storm god Kord, part of the Greyhawk pantheon.

Yuga Aoyama is a scourge aasimar college of glamour bard who at 10th level will have moonbeam as one of his Magical Secrets spells. He uses prestidigitation CONSTANTLY for sparkles. He uses a dulcimer and a light crossbow. He’s also proficient in the shwam and pan flute. He’s a follower of Sune, goddess of love and beauty.He has the feats Fey Touched and war caster.

The Honourable Tenya Ida has a custom mix of both the backgrounds noble and inheritor. He’s a centaur Open Hand monk. He multi-class’ three levels into Clockwork Soul sorcerer to get haste (he comes from a long line of Clockwork Soul transmutation sorcerers). He has the feats Mobile and Inspiring Leader. He has a short sword and an empty fist for battle. He favours Paladine, god of rulers and guardians. His family is the lord and lady of Neverwinter.

Mashirao Ojiro is a Swiftstride shifter Way of the Open Hand monk. Swiftstride shifters are known for being dexterous, graceful and quick. So they often have features from, when they shift, feline creatures. Ojiro grows a tail when he shifts that’s somewhere between a cat and monkey or a kangaroo, making him particularly agile. He also sometimes has animalistic eyes and teeth when he shifts. He has the Martial Adept and Athlete feats. He just uses his fists to fight. He follows Majere, god of meditation and honor. Dexterity is his top stat, charisma is his worst one.

Ochaco Uraraka is an air genasi, a pinky orange one like a cloud at sunset. She’s a transmutation wizard, with one of the spells in her book being levitation. She has the feats lightly armoured and tavern brawler. She uses her fists in hand to hand usually but she’s got daggers stashed on her too. Her favourite deity is Dol Arrah, goddess of sunlight and honour. 

Eijiro Kirishima is an earth genasi (although he dyes his hair and ends up confusingly looking like a fire genasi). He is a Path of the Bear Totem Barbarian warrior. He has brown, earthy skin and eyes like rubies. Also he has the Tough and Durable feats. He likes to use his fists or a great-sword. He’s a somewhat casual follower of the Path of Light - a philosophy of light and self-improvement. He also follows Kord, god of storms, athletics and sport.

Rikido Sato is a goliath path of the berserker barbarian. But instead of a typical rage he eats sugar to help him get into the mind set and make it more powerful. This is from his parents who are both bakers and bards. Their bardic magic comes from the alluring quality of their cooking instead of music or sex appeal. He inherited a bit of this baking magic which is how he can do this. If he spends an action before entering a rage eating something high in sugar he gets to double his rage attack bonus die for the next three rounds. He also has the Tough and Durable feats (maybe chef too). He likes to use his fists or a great-axe. He isn’t overly interested in the gods but his favourite is the neutral god of stone giants and art, Skoraeus Stonebones. 

Mezo Shoji is a wild-hunt shifter, which are known for their sharp and insightfulness. The animal that he borrows aspects from is the starfish. Which can have between five to eight arms with an eye on each. He’s a way of the Astral Self monk, with an incredibly high perception. He has the Observant and Alert feats. He’s a hand to hand man. He likes Balinor, god of beasts and the hunt best.

Kyoka Jiro is a human bard from the college of valor. She’s proficient in all instruments. She has the keen mind feat and performer. She has a slingshot too. She likes Branchala, god of music best.

Hanta Sero is a human conjuration Clockwork soul sorcerer. The sticky floor spell is one of his favourite spells, and has the Empathic feat. He uses a whip. He’s not particularly interested in following any deity in particular but has a soft spot for Kord since like half his bros follow him. He’s proficient in herbalism kits. his beanie/wizard hat is his arcane focus. 

Toru Hagakure is a changeling arcane rogue. She has the Shadow Touched and skulker features. She has lot of KNIVES! The deity she favors is Leira, chaotic neutral goddess of illusion. Her parents told her that when she was born she was blessed and chosen by Leira with a birthmark of her symbol - a spiral in a triangle - on her left hand. Which is why her changeling abilities are so powerful as to let her go invisible.

Minoru Mineta just doesn’t exist. It sucks that possibly the only character with dwarfism in the show is such a creep but there’s barely anything else in his character to build on so he’s just not there. If he did though he’d be a gnome wizard who favored the sticky floor spell best (like Sero) and long range attacks. He’d respect women and tend to hyper-focus on things he likes. He has a very dirty mind and loves inappropriate jokes but isn’t a dick about it. He’d follow Olidammara, chaotic neutral god of revelry. 

* I think that having racial attributes like greater strength in orcs is BS and I’d rather delegate attributes according to culture, or more background details. Which is why Bakugo is part orc. Because I like the head-cannon that many orc tribes value self sufficiency highly and that asking for help should be a special sign of trust and mutual respect. Which resonates a lot with Bakugo’s character. Similarly high elves have a reputation for aloofness and coldness as they view no mistake as insignificant. You never know whether a hundred years down the road it might come back to bight you in the ass. So carefulness is prized by many. But there are cultural subsets and it changes by country. Just a lot less racism and a lot more cultural diversity.

Power Rider A.R.K

The Ares Base on Mars worked like a dream, the entire red planet has been terraformed. Five cities have been built on the planet (Ares City, Tyr City, Shiva City, Ishtar City and Horus City) and the population has grown to 20,000. For the first time in its history Mars has breathable air and flowing water. Plants and trees cover its surface between the rising cities. A project on Mars called Project ARK is in charge of storing data on Earth's animals should something happen to the blue planet. The data is collected in devices known as A.R.Ks (Animal Recreation Keys). However a shadowy organization called Regenesis rises to use Mars as their personal experiment. By using the A.R.Ks they intend to create a new breed of humanity by splicing them with the animal DNA. They begin this plan by capturing and exposing people to corrupted A.R.Ks turning them into monsters called Bersarks. The Bersarks are animal like monsters capable of “infecting” other people and turning them into drones (streamlined versions of themselves with smaller weapons). Regenesis sends the Bersarks out to cause mayhem so they can gather data for their experiments. When a Bersark is defeated they and their drones are returned to normal. The Council of Mars (the governing body made up of two representatives from each Martian City) selects a group to fight this threat as Power Riders A.R.K Riders

Anima- Noah Shaw- One of the scientists working for Project ARK. An animal biologist he was in the wrong place at the right time and utilized one of the A.R.K system belts to fight a Bersark. He uses his knowledge of animals to use the A.R.Ks to their fullest. Default A.R.K is Grasshopper. Transformation Device: A.R.K System Transformation Call: [Accessing Data: Grasshopper!] Let’s Ride! Transformation: A swarm of grasshoppers emerge from the belt surrounding him forming the suit, buzzing as the suit is completed. Hawk- A form suited for flight and aerial combat. This form is swift and agile. Shark- A form suited for aquatic environments such as the artificial lakes and seas of Mars. Tiger- A form suited for close quarters combat. As an added boost this forms attacks are charged with flames. Transformation Call: [Accessing Data: Tiger!] Transformation: A streak of tigers emerge from the belt forming the suit, roaring as the suit is completed Finishing Move: Roaring Rush- A burning lunge charged by the power of a tiger

Polar Bear- A form suited to frigid environments such as the arctic poles of Mars. This forms attacks are charged with ice. Transformation Call: [Accessing Data: Polar Bear!] Transformation: A sleuth of polar bears emerge from the belt forming the suit, roaring as the suit is completed Finishing Move: Cryo Claw- A freezing slash that freezes and cuts the target.

Elephant- The Elephant A.R.K summons a suit of powered armor which greatly increases Anima’s strength.

Swarm - The Swarm A.R.K is an upgraded form of the Grasshopper A.R.K and increases all stats.

Battallo- A special A.R.K made by Zaler based on the Battallo, an extinct martian insect that was able to eat solid metal and produce a liquid metal substance. During a battle Noah was able to take this A.R.K for his own use but due to it’s martian origin this form is difficult to control. Transformation Call: [Accessing Data: Battallo!] Transformation: A metallic swarm of Battallo cover him forming the suit as a metallic buzz sounds out. Evolution- To counter the power of Extinction Project A.R.K created the Evolution A.R.K. This key allows Noah to unlock the full potential of any A.R.K supercharging it.

Pack- By attaching the A.R.K Amplifier to the Wolf A.R.K its power is boosted vastly. Finishing Move: Feral Pack Shot- A shot charged by the power of a wolf pack. Feral Rabid Kick- A wild kick that ends by connecting with the enemy.

Feral Chimera- By using the Chimera A.R.K Desmond is able to call on the power of the Wolf, Hawk, Gorilla, Shark, Scorpion, Polar Bear, Tiger, Hornet, Cheetah and Elephant. As a result he can access the abilities of each form. Vixen- Lena Fields- A reporter who was covering a Bersark attack when she was forced to defend herself proving herself capable of helping fight the threat. As a result she was selected by the Council to become a Rider. Default A.R.K is Cheetah. Transformation Device: A.R.K System Blaster Model Transformation Call: [Accessing Data: Cheetah!] Let’s Ride! Transformation: A coalition of cheetahs emerge from the belt surrounding her forming the suit, purring as the suit is completed. Hornet- A form suited for quick aerial battles. As an added boost this form’s attacks are charged with lightning. Coalition: By attaching the A.R.K Amplifier to the Cheetah A.R.K its power is boosted vastly. Jackal: After she leaves to follow Zaler her rider belt is taken from her so she is forced to use a belt she stole from an agent of Regenesis. While using this form she is unable to use any other A.R.Ks Transformation Call: [Accessing Data: Jackal!] Transformation: An energy Jackal emerges from the belt forming the suit as it howls Finishing Move: Jackal Reaping- A slash powered by the power of a jackal.

Vixen Chimera: However it’s eventually revealed that Lena only joined Zaler to recover the A.R.K data he stole when he scanned Regenesis’s systems. Using the recovered data the Vixen Chimera A.R.K was created combining the power of the Cheetah, Whale, Penguin, Panda, Hedgehog, Lion, Kangaroo, Jackal, Spider, Giraffe, Rhino Beetle, Buffalo, and Stag Beetle. She can utilize the abilities of all the animals. Transformation Call: [Accessing Data: Chimera!] Transformation: All the animals emerge from the belt surrounding her forming the suit, they all cry out as one as the suit is competed. Locust- Nigel Mullins- One of the scientists who developed the A.R.K technology he sided with Regenesis because he agreed with their original goal of utilizing A.R.K tech to aid in the evolution of humanity. But as their methods and goals grew more drastic he voiced his opposition. Told bluntly that he was going to continue to aid them regardless of his views he unwillingly helped until he was able to steal a Regenesis System and the Locust A.R.K making his escape and joining with the Riders. Transformation Device: Regenesis System Transformation Call: [Accessing Data: Locust!] Let’s Ride! Transformation: A plague of locust emerge from the belt surrounding him, buzzing as the suit is formed. Toxic- Jericho- Jericho is one of Regenesis’s strongest warriors. He is one of the strongest believers in what Regenesis is doing and is willing to lay his life down to fulfill the mission. His A.R.K is Scorpion Transformation Device: Regenesis System Transformation Call: [Accessing Data: Scorpion!] Let’s Ride! Transformation: A colony of scorpions emerge from the belt forming the suit, hissing as the suit is completed Finishing Moves: Stinging Strike- A kick charged with the power of a scorpion Stinging Arrow- An arrow charged with the power of a scorpion

Manticore: As the Riders grew in power Jericho demanded the Regenesis scientists find a way for him to grow in power too. They provided him with the Manticore A.R.K giving him short ranged flight, a longer stinger and tearing claws. Transformation Call: [Accessing Data: Manticore!] Transformation: A pride of Manticores emerge from the belt roaring as the suit is formed. Finishing Move: Manticore Maiming- He rushes the enemy slashing them off their feet where he claws at them as the stinger stabs at them.

Face Claim: Dante Basco

Talon- Jazz- Jazz believes in Regenesis’s goal of evolving humanity believing that humanity has hit an evolutionary dead end. She is a bit more hesitant about the violent methods but soon embraces it. Her A.R.K is Falcon Transformation Device: Regenesis System Transformation Call: [Accessing Data: Falcon!] Let’s Ride! Transformation: A cast of falcons emerge from the belt forming the suit, crying out as the suit is completed Finishing Moves: Falcon Fury- A diving kick charged with the power of a falcon. Phoenix: After a battle left her severely injured for a few months Jazz managed to recover and grew even stronger as she returned to the battle field using the power of a Phoenix. Transformation Call: [Accessing Data: Phoenix!] Transformation: An odyssey of Phoenix emerge from the belt forming the suit, crying out as the suit is completed. Finishing Move: Phoenix Pyre- A burning slash powered by the power of a phoenix. Face Claim: Fiona Nova

Carrion- Mortimer Freeman-  Mortimer began as a low level Regenesis member who failed to capture a test subject for the Bersark testing and volunteered himself to make up for his mistake. As a result he became the Buzzard Bersark however he somehow managed to retain his sentience once transformed. More surprising was the fact he managed to win some battles against the Riders. In time he and his superiors were surprised further when he began to “evolve” gaining new abilities and powers. Soon he was deemed worthy to become one of Regenesis’s Riders. Enjoying his new position he will do anything to keep both his power and the respect that comes with it. Transformation: A committee of buzzards emerge from the belt, crying out as the suit is completed Finishing Move: Buzzard Blitz- A furious slash charged by the power of a buzzard. Dire- Alex Underwood- One of the earliest colonists Alex was thought to be killed when they got separated from the others during a sandstorm. However they were rescued by Regenesis and in return they swore their loyalty to the group. In time they became frustrated with the failures of the Regenesis Riders and entered the battle themselves. Pierce- Zaler- 15,000 years ago Mars was full of life and at war. Warring factions devastated the surface of the planet. The son of one of the commanders learned his father planned to activate a super weapon that would end the war and tried to stop him. Enraged at what he considered treason the father had his son sealed in stasis. Sure enough the super weapon ended all life on Mars. In the present day the son, now the only surviving Martian, awoke from his stasis. Using his biomechanical nature he tapped into computer systems and learned about humanity and what happened during his stasis. He also created his own A.R.K system belt and used the tech to create A.R.Ks based on now extinct Mars animals, the Duorn (A two horned rhino like animal) and the Zamzon Beetle (a cat sized beetle) Upon encountering the Riders and Regenesis he comments how fitting it was humanity named Mars after a war god before engaging in battle. He intends to stop the fighting no matter the cost. Even if he must face off against both sides alone. Due to his biomechanical nature he is able to temporarily copy the abilities of other A.R.Ks About a month after his awakening he hacks into the Mars communications and announces that any colonists willing to escape the conflict are free to follow him and live as his people did. Lena is one of those who choose to follow him. As leader of this new colony, named Zeelen after the original name of Mars, he continues to battle both the Riders and Regenesis willing to do whatever it takes to prevent another war. Extinction- Adam Manning- The leader of Regenesis Adam sees a future in which humanity destroys itself leaving Earth in ashes. To prevent such a disaster he created Regenesis seeking to improve upon humanity. On Mars he puts his plans into action by stealing the A.R.K technology and experimenting on captured people creating the Bersarks. In time he grows disappointed with the failure of the Bersarks and the Regenesis riders. The appearance of Zaler inspires Adam to seek answers within Mars itself and he discovers the weapon that caused the extinction of all life on Mars. With this find his plans shift. No longer will he seek to prevent the end of life. He intends to use this weapon to wipe out all life on Earth leaving Regenesis to repopulate the earth with a new breed of humanity and himself as ruler. He orders his scientists to create a belt for himself and enters the battle field as Extinction. Extinction has the power to destroy A.R.Ks leaving only dust. When his followers discover his plan the Regenesis Riders desert him joining with the A.R.K Riders to stop his madness. He welcomes the chance to weed out those disloyal to him. Transformation: Skeletons of various animals emerge from the belt screaming in horror as they form the suit. Finishing Move: Extinct___ - A powerful ____ charged by the power of extinction. Face Claim: TR Knight Bersarks Bersark Level I These are created when Regenesis abducts people and forces them to transform using the A.R.Ks. Once transformed the person loses control of themself and is unable to return to human form. The only way to reverse the transformation is to defeat them in battle, this will damage the A.R.K enough to cancel the transformation while leaving the person relatively unharmed. These Bersark are also able to create drones by infecting other people. Once the main Bersark is defeated the drones are reverted as well. Level I Bersarks include: Mantis Iguana Panther Squid Bat Snail Frog Elephant Buzzard Bersark Level II This level of Bersark are created once Regenesis creates their own system to better handle the power of the A.R.Ks. These Bersark are people loyal to Regenesis. Once transformed they retain their minds and are much stronger than the previous level. They are also able to transform between forms at will. However this form lacks the ability to create drones. Level II Bersarks include: Buffalo Whale Lion Penguin Panda Kangaroo Spider Giraffe Rhino Beetle Stag Beetle Power Rider Paradox/A.R.K: After obtaining a damaged X Rider Disc Regenesis uses it to steal some of Anima’s power creating Anima X. Frill-Necked Lizard Facts

Chlamydosaurus Kingii, the frill-necked lizard, frilled dragon, or frilled agama, is part of the Agamidae family and is one of the most common dragon lizards in Australia.

The frill-necked lizard enjoyed fame in Japan for a long time, after which it became the symbol of Australia, along with koalas and kangaroos.

The recognition came from the fact that the image of the lizard was used in an automobile advertisement.

Where is the frill-necked lizard found?

The frill-necked lizard is an arboreal lizard that lives in Australia, Tasmania, and Papua New Guinea. There it lives in dry forests and forest steppe.

A frill-necked lizard spends 90% of its time in trees. When it sits still or rests it is very well camouflaged on the bark. When looking for ants and other insects, it can be very fast and agile.

What does a frill-necked lizard look like?

Its size reaches 85 cm and weighs between 800 and 900g, featuring a sturdy body, elongated limbs, and a long tail.

The distinctive feature is the presence of a wide skin “collar” supported by the cartilage, which expands when the lizard feels threatened. It has a dual role as it is used both as a defense and also in the process of thermo-adjustment.

The color of the lizard is relatively dull, in shades of gray and brown. Its collar is often strongly colored blue. When attacked, it can run, supporting itself only on the back legs. Because of this behavior, the animal is also known as the bicycle lizard.

When cornered, it turns its face toward the aggressor and opens wide its famous collar around the neck, while opening its bright yellow-pink mouth, as a threat.

What do frill-necked lizards eat?

The frill-necked lizard is an arboreal species that spends most of its time resting at the roots of trees or on their branches. The only time they go to the ground is when they feed.

The frilled dragon is insectivorous and eats, in principle, small invertebrates. However, lizards are sometimes known to feed on small mammals.

These lizards prey on insects, spiders, small mammals, and, sometimes, other lizards. It also likes to eat bird eggs.

Behavioral characteristics of the frill-necked lizard

This creature spends most of its free time climbing up trees or large shrubs, where it can also eat. The frilled dragon is not very active during the hunt, patiently waiting for the desired prey to approach. During the dry season, all the inhabitants have difficulties in procuring their food. But the frill-necked lizard is so patient that it climbs into the crowns of trees and waits there for up to 12 weeks. The fact is that when it is in the shade of branches, the lizard lacks heat, and the metabolic processes in its body slow down by 70%.

In open areas, representatives of the species have a large number of enemies, as these lizards are hunted by wild cats, snakes, and even predatory birds. In the process of evolution, these individuals have developed a unique system of protection.

By its nature, the frill-necked lizard prefers to lead a solitary lifestyle. When the lizard feels danger approaching, it immediately begins to turn into a terrible predatory “beast”.

Although this charming creature prefers to live in low humidity conditions, with the advent of the rainy season, its activity increases several times compared to normal.

At the same time, the breeding season begins, which is very interesting. Before starting the mating process, the male must draw the attention of the female lizard, and as soon as it succeeds, it begins making rhythmic movements of the head that resemble inviting assent. After successful mating, the female buries 8 to 14 eggs in a wet sand hole. After about ten weeks, the baby lizards hatch.

How do they defend themselves?

Seeing the enemy, the frill-necked lizard stops moving, as if numb, and tries to hide so that the enemy does not notice it. If that doesn’t work, then the lizard takes other actions.

The reptile begins making hissing sounds, opening its mouth wide, opening the umbrella collar, twisting its tail, and rising on its hind limbs. In most cases, the predator becomes confused and backs down.

If such actions were not successful, then the lizard quickly runs away, being again upright, using the hind legs, and the long tail to maintain balance.

The frill-necked lizard’s frill

Its peculiarity is that it has a wide collar of skin very well supported by cartilage, which expands when it senses danger. It serves them primarily as a defense mechanism. When opened, the attacker feels like it is in front of a much larger animal than expected.

Another role of its collar is to be a tool for storing solar heat and increasing body temperature. As with other cold-blooded lizards, their body temperature depends on the environment.

In the male this very interesting collar is larger; it can have a radius of 10-25 cm. Its color is yellow, reddish, orange, or brown, depending on the temperature of the environment where the animal stood, how much blood was pumped through its skin, and its stress level.

It also plays an important role in attracting females and fighting rivals.

Cold-blooded creatures

Another purpose of the protruding collar is to regulate body temperature. In the morning, the lizard stays in the sun, and in case of severe overheating, it helps the lizard to cool down.

If this is not enough to scare the enemy, the frill-necked lizard can stand on two legs and run away, but instead of running with its tail between its legs, the dragon will let it hang in the back to confuse its attacker.

On the ground the tail is often held high as the bird 'kangaroo-hops' along. The raucous, cackling, call is given frequently, reflecting the intensely competitive and social nature of this species. Young Magpies have a washed-out appearance and short, stubby tails.

Meet the Pararaptors!!!!!

Pararaptors were inspired by raptors, dragons, kangaroos, birds and lions.

🦖🐉🦘🦅🦁 Pararaptors have a raptor like skeletal structure, and raptor like stance. They often have feathered wings connecting to their arms which are often double jointed allowing a wide range of motion. They have pouches on their stomachs to hold valuable items, or their young. They have strong talons and are very agile, they can run very fast and jump very high. They have bird like tails that help with balance. They have very wing tipped ears, the tips are very sensitive to touch and vibrations. They have manes which can be styled. Leaders of a pride often let their manes grow long as a sign of status.

🌳 They get the prefix in their name “Para” from the idea that they came from paradise or a paradise like land. Although their exact origin is unknown. They live on earth, and are often found in forests, typically rainforests, but they can be found in other locations too. They typically create nests for resting, but can also live in burrows, or houses. They often travel in small groups known as Prides.

🥚 They reproduce sexually and are typically very careful about picking mates as many prefer to mate for life. Same sex pairings are possible, and if unable to have offspring through mating they will often choose to raise orphaned nestlings as their own.

As nestlings their mane is too big for their body, therefore they look like they’re just balls of fur withs ears and a face (and tiny wings, if they are winged.) Over time they will grow into their manes, and then their manes will begin to grow along with them at a normal pace.

Nestlings will travel in their mother or father’s pouch until they are old enough to venture on their own. While parents are resting the nestlings will play around with each other and mess with their parents. They can be quite mischievous.

🍏🥩 Pararaptors are omnivores. A Pararaptors’ main diet consists of fruits, berries, and meat. They will occasionally eat fish and insects. They usually hunt in groups and will surround their victim before attacking, so the victim cannot escape. If hunting alone they will either climb trees and wait for an animal to get near before jumping on it’s back, or if they have wings they might swoop in on their prey from above. They are also a big fan of rock candy. They can’t get enough of it. They will also indulge in other hard candies, anything that’s colorful and/or shiny that catches their eye. They will lick and chew on rocks, crystals, stalagmites, gold, silver, or anything shiny for stimulation. They will occasionally attempt to consume such materials.

✨Pararaptors like to preen their feathers and groom their fur in order to stay fluffy, shiny, and clean. Hygiene is important to them! As well as their appearance. They will also don themselves with accessories such as necklaces, bracelets, anklets, and rings. Some will also occasionally choose rocks or gemstones to stick in their fur or feathers if they like them well enough. The shinier they are the more potential they have to attract other Pararaptors to take as friends or mates. But this doesn’t mean they wouldn’t befriend less lavish of Pararaptors, or even other species.

💎They typically hoard shiny things, but have been known to hoard other items that tickle their fancy. They usually have a few prized items they will never part with, but other items they might use to trade for things they like more. Even if they will trade for items, they’ve been known to steal things as well. With no ill intent.
