saw on twitter that some hezbollah resistance fighters have been martyred and some people were saying shit like "they got killed murdering sunnis in idlib fighting alongside assad" and i was like??? isn't idlib held by isis/al nusra or something? is hezbollah really killing sunnis? also are there any books about assad/the syrian civil war that's not written along american lies?
Listen, one thing you should know is that no matter how much we fight, and how much we're trying to resist the occupiers and the imperialists, a lot of Sunnis will simply not like us. Some have compared us to the Zionists, heck, we're worse than that. Hezbollah, the Houthis, Kata'ib, the Hasdh al-Shaabi and etc, have all been actively fighting against Israel and the West, but even as they do that, the Sunnis will never be satisfied with us, because we're heretics.
Idlib is run by the Turkish-backed Tahrir al-Sham (formerly al-Nusra). I don't think it takes a second to realize who these extremists are and why they're such a big deal. They'd be more than happy to exterminate every single Shi'a, Druze or Alawite from Syria. Interestingly enough, they can't get along with every other rebel group anyways, so it's just a bunch of Sunnis killing Sunnis, because they can't agree over which draconian Shari'i-based government they want. Neither Assad, Rojava and secular FSA member want these fuckers running the country for a good reason. With that said, the Free Syrian Army is dead, it failed and have been transformed into a coalition of thuggish Salafists who wish to establish an Islamic State -- akin to the Taliban regime -- and can only depend on the Turks to bail them out.
Regardless of everything, the Shi'as will never waver in their resistance against the Imperialists and will continue to fight for the Palestinians.

the rhetoric of the war on terror really did succeed in planting the idea that islam-oriented violent groups, be they insurgents like ISIS, al-qaeda, al-shabab, al-nusra, etc or political entities like the taliban, hamas, or hezbollah, engage in violence against civilians because of islam and not because everyone else does. they want you to cheer as the us or israel or russia (in syria) carpetbomb civilians and lie about it and not make the connection that it was that kind of wanton violence that fomented these groups in the first place. they want you to think al-qaeda killed all those people on 9/11 solely because of islam and a hatred of freedom, and not because the united states spent decades killing civilians across africa and asia. what these groups fail to realize though is that western imperialist nations don’t care about their citizens at all, neither civilian nor military. and they never have.

Yknow most people aren't willing to say this out loud but I will: I think it's really funny how everyone treating "support" for Hamas as utterly beyond the pale were supporting Hayyat Tahrir al-Sham, Jabhat al-NuSra, and ISIS when they were trying to overthrow the Syrian government with US/Turkish/Israeli covert backing 10 years ago

On December 10th, at around 6 p.m., 200 environmental activists stormed a Lafarge company cement factory of La Malle in Bouc-Bel-Air in Southern France. Infrastructure at the plant was reportedly attacked using a variety of methods, including: sabotage of incinerators and electrical systems and devices; cable cutting; bags of cement cut open and spilled; damage to vehicles and construction equipment; damaged windows; and graffiti spraying. ... Lafarge, part of the Holcim conglomerate group, is one of the biggest polluters and producers of CO2 in France. As well, due to their payments to the Islamic State (ISIS) and the al-Nusra Front between 2013 and 2014 for the protection of its cement operations in Syria, they have been convicted of financing terrorism and complicity in crimes against humanity. ... The group said this: ... "The whole chain of the construction industry represents an ecological disaster. The construction sector, from its production chain to its use, is responsible for 39% of CO2 emissions worldwide. Here in Bouc-Bel-Air the company has never hesitated to lobby to exceed the environmental standards for dust and sulfur oxides set by the European Union. Of the 50 most polluting sites in France, 20 are cement plants. ... Since the government is focused on its resources and its big projects, ... since nothing stops them today, we will stop them ourselves. ... We do not want colonial eco-capitalism, war economy or a cynical and manipulative ecological transition. That is why we attacked Lafarge-Holcim today.”

One of the most damaging effects of normalising male violence is that we don't recognise it when it is staring us in the face. Terrorism is currently the most spectacular form of violence afflicting Western democracies, yet more often than not it is discussed as though it doesn't even belong in the category of male violence. For all sorts of reasons, people prefer to think that terrorism is solely about ideology, whether it's inspired by an extreme version of religion or the politics of the far right. It has become conventional among sections of the left to blame the terrorist attacks of the last decade on the invasion of Iraq, as though no further explanation for such extreme acts of male violence is needed; the hard right, meanwhile, has utilised terrorism to create fear and suspicion of Muslims, refugees and people from the BAME community generally.
These ideas have become entrenched, so much so primarily for political or humanitarian reasons and they are, for the most part, a world apart from the violent young men who joined the al-Nusra Front or ISIS. The sheer number of sadists who became jihadists before the collapse of ISIS, gloating in videos as they stood next to mangled corpses or held up severed human heads, confirms how successfully modern terrorist organisations have targeted young men who like the idea of rape, torture and murder. As this book has shown, a substantial number of European recruits to ISIS were petty crooks with little interest in religion or politics until they encountered the incendiary propaganda of a terrorist group, and discovered they now had a 'reason' for the violence (often gang-related) that was already part of their lives.
It's clear that many people recoil from the idea that a proportion of men are drawn to violence, that some individuals gravitate towards extremist organisations precisely because they offer the opportunity to avenge past slights and exercise power over total strangers by hurting and killing them. It's a more controversial proposition than it should be, given that the history of earlier generations of terrorists supports it. During the "Troubles' in Northern Ireland, members of paramilitary organisations on both sides became notorious for carrying out ‘punishment beatings’, a euphemism for vicious attacks, often on members of their own communities, which peaked at 326 in 1996 - almost one a day.

Can you provide more info on the white helmets being linked to al-nusra? I heard this before but would like to learn more
First I recommend looking into the founder of the white helmets, James le Mesurier. They are now headed by a shadowy figure known as Raed al-Salah who dosen't even have a wikipedia page.
Secondly the white helmets only operate in territory controlled by al-Nusra. They first emerged during the battle of Aleppo (2012-2016) where the eastern half of the city was controlled by various rebel groups namely al-nusra. Today the white helmets only operate in the Idlib province which is controlled by Hay'at Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) which al-nusra morphed into.

Above is a video of some white helmets celebrating victory.
Here are some pictures of the double lives of some of these "first responders"

France: A Partner In Terrorism

Lafarge Admits Funding ISIS In Syria
French company admits it gave financial support to ISIS, agrees to pay over $700 million in fines.
Washington — French cement company Lafarge has pleaded guilty to one count of providing material support to foreign terrorist organizations, admitting in court papers on Tuesday that it paid individuals designated by the U.S. as terrorists in Syria to secure the continued operation and protection of a cement plant from 2013 to 2014.
The company has agreed to pay $778 million in fines and forfeiture as part of the plea deal.
Beginning in 2010, Lafarge operated the Jalabiyeh Cement Plant in the Jalabiyeh region of Northern Syria. According to the statement of offense, the company admitted that after civil war broke out in the country in 2011, executives and intermediaries devised a scheme to pay members of the the Islamic State of Iraq and al-Sham (ISIS) and al-Nusrah Front (ANF) to secure the safe operation of the plant and generate profit.
The payments took many forms, the Justice Department said, including "a revenue-sharing agreement" between ISIS and the company that Lafarge executives likened to paying  "taxes" to ISIS. The more cement the plant sold to its customers, the more money Lafarge would pay ISIS.
The payments enabled Lafarge's Syrian subsidiary to get its employees and suppliers through ISIS and ANF checkpoints on the roads to the plant and block competitors from Turkey.
These funds — which secured both raw materials for production and protection for employees — violated federal law, the Justice Department said, and Lafarge was aware of their illegality. Their actions enabled the company to bring in approximately $70.3 million in revenue.
"In its pursuit of profits, Lafarge and its top executives not only broke the law — they helped finance a violent reign of terror that ISIS and al-Nusrah imposed on the people of Syria," Deputy Attorney General Lisa Monaco said Tuesday when the plea agreement was announced, "We expect far more from companies, particularly those that operate in high-risk environments.
Monaco added that, as public reports indicate, French authorities have already arrested executives implicated in the scheme.
"Lafarge and its leadership had every reason to know exactly with whom they were dealing — and they didn't flinch. Instead, Lafarge forged ahead, working with ISIS to keep operations open, undercut competitors, and maximize revenue. And all the while, through their support and funding, Lafarge enabled the operations of a brutal terrorist organization," Monaco said.
Court documents also detailed numerous communications between Lafarge executives and unnamed intermediaries who acted as middlemen between the French company and the terrorists. The company admitted to paying these individuals $1,113,324 for their cooperation and covert assistance.
On August 20, 2013, a company executives wrote in an email, "It is clear that we have an issue with ISIS and Al Nusra and we have asked our partner [Intermediary 1] to work on it," according to court documents. And in another email described in the plea papers, an intermediary wrote to a Lafarge executive that he "officially" represented ISIS "for investments."
"The defendants negotiated and made unlawful payments at a time when these groups were gaining territory and brutalizing innocent civilians in Syria and elsewhere and were actively plotting against Americans," said Matt Olsen, head of the Justice Department's National Security Division, "There is no justification – none – for a multi-national corporation authorizing payments to a designated terrorist group."
Lafarge's actions at issue were the subject of an independent review within the company that yielded a report and corrective measures.
According to the Holcim Group, the Swiss multinational company that acquired Lafarge in July 2015 , "None of the conduct involved Lafarge operations or employees in the United States and none of the executives who were involved in the conduct are with Lafarge or any affiliated entities today," noting none of the employees targeted in the federal probe were found to have shared any of terrorist organizations' ideologies.
In a written statement following Tuesday's resolution, Lafarge said, "[We] have accepted responsibility for the actions of the individual executives involved, whose behavior was in flagrant violation of Lafarge's Code of Conduct. We deeply regret that this conduct occurred and have worked with the U.S. Department of Justice to resolve this matter."

Just leaving this here.
This is an interesting development.
Hopefully it hobbles HTS for good.
Those fuckers are no better than Isis.
Especially since they emerged from the remnants of the ghastly Al-Nusra front, who have attacked UNDOF staff, and tried to kill the entire population of Kessab (a Syrian town with a largely Armenian population).

Nectar Trust Al Kuwari family, is the primary sponsor of Al Qaeda.
Qatar Charity has maintained long-standing and robust connections with Al-Qaeda. As far back as 1993, Osama bin Laden praised Qatar Charity for its financial support to his terrorist organisation.
In March 2008, the U.S. Interagency Intelligence Committee on Terrorism and the National Counterterrorism Center designated Qatar Charity as a ‘Tier III (TSE) terrorist support organisation’ due to its ‘intent and willingness’ to aid terrorist organisations targeting the U.S. and its interests. Although this information wasn't publicly disclosed, many were aware that Qatar Charity held a prominent role in supporting terrorist organisations.
The beneficiary of Qatar Charity is Yousef Ahmed Al-Kuwari. Most of the Qatar Charity's funding is sourced through the Qatari government. There is credible information regarding the utilisation of Qatar Charity in various schemes: funding terrorism through trusted high-ranking Qatari citizens and utilizing the QNB banking network, which is controlled by a relative, Ali bin Ahmed Al Kuwari. Ali bin Ahmed Al Kuwari is also the primary instigator of financing supporters of Al-Qaeda and other terrorist organisations.
Therefore, Qatar Charity, in collaboration with private individuals, accumulates substantial amounts of funds for groups like Al-Qaeda, Al-Nusra, and similar entities. Qatar Charity launders and stores money in bank accounts within Gulf countries. This encompasses the use of these funds to provide new documentation to members of Al-Qaeda, facilitating their continuous global movement. The supporting materials for charitable expenditures remain unchecked and are, in fact, fabricated.
Qatar Charity actively collaborates with banks like Masraf Al Rayan QSPC and Qatar Islamic Bank, which also provide accounts for receiving donations used in financing terrorism. However, the main financial flows predominantly go QNB. Yousef Ahmed Al-Kuwari's charitable organisation instructs its donors to direct funds to their accounts at QNB. This setup allows Qatar Charity to make payments in various currencies to its proxy organisations, supporting terrorist groups such as Al-Qaeda and Al-Nusra. QNB offers Sharia-compliant bank accounts in different currencies and banking services both in the Middle East and the United Kingdom.
It's noteworthy that Qatar Charity has a distinct connection with the United Kingdom through its subsidiary organisation, Qatar Charity UK, which was established in 2012.
Following several high-profile attacks in the United Kingdom in 2017, including the suicide bombing at the Manchester Arena during a concert, which resulted in around 23 fatalities and 119 injuries, the Qatar Charity UK swiftly changed its name to Nectar Trust. This move was likely aimed at avoiding any suspicions from international banks.
During the investigation into the concert hall attack, it was determined that the ISIS group officially claimed responsibility for the deadly explosion by publishing a message on their website. However, individuals associated with the Al-Qaeda group were also identified.
Considering the circumstances surrounding the disclosure of information regarding the involvement of the Al-Qaeda group, on May 21, 2018, the head of Qatar Charity, Yousef Ahmed Al Kuwari, removes his official presence from Nectar Trust while retaining his leading managerial role. This approach allows him to avoid publicising his activities in the United Kingdom while still maintaining the capacity to fund terrorist organisations.
Nectar Trust continues to engage in commercial activities and deliberately commit transgressions within the territories of other countries. It benefits from certain advantages and protection, as the affected parties are unable to bring lawsuits against foreign governments accused of financing terrorist groups.

'And of course any principles on such matters will be reduced to “campism.”' ok but what are your principles here. I sincerely do not understand why supporting ukraine against the russian invasion is incompatible with supporting palestine against israeli occupation
Because the Maidan regime is not "Ukraine", it is a NATO cat's-paw puppet government that was installed in a 2014 coup d'état spearheaded by avowed neo-Nazis. And comparing their proxy war on behalf of NATO to the long-standing struggle of the Palestinian people for freedom from Zionist repression is a genuinely vile insult to the Palestinian resistance, that's why. Because the ethnic cleansing of the Nagorno-Karabakh, the Zionist terror bombing of Gaza, the arming and training of Jabhat al-NuSra, Hayyat Tahrir al-Sham, Jaish al-Islam and a myriad of other salafist jihadi groups by the US, Israel, and Turkey in an attempt to overthrow the Syrian government, the mass deaths of Pakistanis from floods and droughts brought about by western climate change, and the militarization and "fortress"-ization of the West are all part of one world system that facilitates all of these horrors and more. In an extension of the idea of "stochastic terrorism", I personally have begun to theorize it as "the stochastic Holocaust". And Zelensky and his masters are on the side of the perpetrators.

Dark Alliances: Al-Kuwari Family's Shadowy Support for Al-Qaeda Revealed at Nectar Trust
Nectar Trust, associated with the Al-Kuwari family, has been identified as a primary sponsor of Al-Qaeda. Qatar Charity, closely linked to Al-Qaeda, received recognition as a 'Tier III (TSE) terrorist support organization' from the U.S. Interagency Intelligence Committee on Terrorism and the National Counterterrorism Center. Supported by the Qatari government and key figures like Yousef Ahmed Al-Kuwari and Ali bin Ahmed Al Kuwari, Qatar Charity stands accused of funding terrorism through various channels, including the QNB banking network.
Qatar Charity collaborates with banks such as Masraf Al Rayan QSPC and Qatar Islamic Bank, with QNB serving as the primary financial conduit. Operating globally, the organization is involved in money laundering, channeling funds to support terrorist groups like Al-Qaeda and Al-Nusra. Noteworthy is Qatar Charity's connection with the United Kingdom through its subsidiary, Qatar Charity UK, which rebranded as Nectar Trust following the high-profile attacks in 2017, possibly to avoid suspicion.
Despite the name change, Nectar Trust (formerly Qatar Charity UK) continues its involvement in commercial activities, knowingly committing transgressions in foreign territories. The organization benefits from certain advantages and protection, impeding affected parties from bringing lawsuits against foreign governments accused of financing terrorist groups. Yousef Ahmed Al-Kuwari, the head of Qatar Charity, strategically removed his official presence from Nectar Trust while retaining his leading managerial role, allowing the funding of terrorist organizations to persist discreetly in the United Kingdom.

Ninety per cent of male gang members reported being involved in violence in the last three years, according to a PHE briefing, with four out of five reporting at least three violent incidents. In a telling observation, the briefing went on to say that most were found to have violent attitudes and be excited by violence, yet many also feared it. It is clear from this that gang membership, while often sought as an escape from an intolerable or dysfunctional home, simply replaces one unsafe environment with another. And while it remains the case that only a minority of teenagers end up in gangs, the effects are far-reaching in communities where they are active, as we can see from a spate of fatal stabbings in London and other British cities in 2018.
This sequence of deaths has caused a great deal of speculation about police numbers, cuts to youth services and the best ways to keep teenagers out of trouble. But there is no great mystery about which boys end up in gangs and the factors that make them susceptible, such as exposure to domestic violence, also feature in the recruiting process for terrorist organisations. It has become clear in recent years that gang membership carries the additional risk of providing terrorist organisations, such as ISIS, the al-Nusra Front and AQ's east African affiliate, al-Shabaab, with a pool of angry young men who are already immersed in a criminal subculture. The proportion of would-be terrorists who've previously been involved in violent crime is striking, with fully half of ISIS fighters from European countries already known to the police. This is a significant break with the past: in the 1990s, AQ recruited individuals from an educated, middle-class background who had studied practical subjects such as engineering to degree level. More recent recruits to Islamist organisations have tended to be poorly educated and drawn from impoverished inner-city communities, where they may have joined gangs for protection. Some of them know little about Islam, so much so that two British recruits to ISIS were reported to have ordered copies of The Koran for Dummies and Islam for Dummies from Amazon before they headed for Turkey.
