📍Pukaskawa camping …. While I only stayed one night I’m glad I had the chance to camp here. I landed up getting the very last campsite that late afternoon …. I always enjoy visiting Pukaskawa even for a day … Hattie Cove beach is one of my favourites to just sit and be still. The water here is always freezing cold so I never even try to go for a swim. One summer my son did just that, and ran into the cold lake for a swim. It was cold 🥶…… The walk to the visitor centre and the trail up to the red chairs are always a must-do when there !!! #lakesuperior #algoma #ontario #travelontario #ontariotravel #worldenders #northshore #thesoo #adventure #explore #bluecarroadtripper #honda #greatlake #provincialpark #highway17 #vacation #pukaskwanationalpark @pukaskwa @parcs.canada #camping #beach #bluecarroadtripper (at Parc national Pukaskwa) https://www.instagram.com/p/CkigvP7rHFJ/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

The Muir was a 130-foot (39.6 meters), three-masted schooner that was built in 1872.
ALGOMA, Wis. (AP) — Marine archaeologists have discovered the wreckage of a schooner that sank in Lake Michigan in the late 1800s. The Wisconsin Underwater Archaeology Association announced this month that its searchers found the Margaret A. Muir in 50 feet (15.2 meters) of water off Algoma, Wisconsin, on May 12. Algoma bulk carrier fire, Canada A fire was reported Monday morning just after 9:00 a.m. EST aboard the wintering Algoma Discovery in the city of Port Colborne, Ontario. Fire crews and EMS were dispatched to the wharf along the Welland Canal for a fire in the engine room of the Canadian-flagged bulk carrier, which broke out during routine winter maintenance activities. Upon arrival, fire officials found the crew had disembarked and were without injury. Heavy smoke was reported to fill the engine room and a small fire was encountered by crews. The ship’s suppression system reportedly activated, as expected. As firefighters boarded the ship using an aerial ladder to access the stern, others were preparing a watersupply from the canal. Smoke could be seen billowing from the ship’s stack not long after crews had arrived. The situation was reported under control as ventilation was taking place around 10:30 a.m. The ship has been tied up in Port

"12,500 STEEL WORKERS OUT AT THREE PLANTS; WAR OUTPUT SUFFERS," Toronto Star. January 14, 1943. Page 1. ---- Loss Set at 170,200 Tons Monthly, Two-Thirds of Nation's Production ---- ASK WAGE BOOST ---- Three of Canada's basic steel producing plants today are tied up by strikes. A total of 12,500 men have quit work at Sault Ste. Marie, Ont.; Sydney and Trenton, N.S., to enforce demands for wage increases.
Five thousand workers at Sydney, N.S. - on strike for the third day - were joined early today by 4,000 at Sault Ste. Marie and 3,500 at Trenton.
Strikes at Sydney and Sault Ste. Marie tied up two of the dominion's three basic steel producing plants. It was estimated by government figures the loss in production at the two plants would amount to; 170,212 tons a month, or two-thirds of the country's basic steel output.
Workers at the Steel Company of Canada at Hamilton have decided to defer strike action until the company management has been approached regarding negotiations with the United Steelworkers of America (C.I.O.).
Picket Lines Set Up The strike at the Sault began officially at 7 a.m. when members of the day shift didn't report. Picket lines were set up.
The strikers were not joined by 500 transportation department employees and machinists, members of American Federation of Labor unions. These entered the plant to work today and were not interfered with by pickets. An additional 500 men engaged on construction work were not direly affected by the strike, it was reported.
It was announced that 300 men had been left in the plant to do maintenance work. No effort was made to stop those who wished to continue their regular work in the plant, but as buses neared the picket lines, a union representative boarded each and read the following statement: "This bus after its next stop will go through a picket line - any working man going through that line to work is undermining the fight of his fellow-workers for decent living standards. Let your conscience be your guide."
