HELSINKI 🇫🇮

A couple of days are enough to visit this city. It's very nice, clean and pittoresque.

Helsinki is the capital city and most populous municipality of Finland.

Helsinki has one of the highest urban standards of living in the world. In 2011, the British magazine Monocle ranked Helsinki the world's most liveable city in its liveable cities index. In the Economist Intelligence Unit's2016 liveability survey, Helsinki was ranked ninth among 140 cities.

WHAT TO DO in 2 days

The lifestyle is pretty expensive. But there are things you absolutely need to do:

- walk in the main shopping streets. It's full of lights, restaurants and shops. Better when you arrive close to the water: there is a plenty of small markets where you can buy typical Finnish products.

- Finnish Sauna @AllasSeaPool

- Kiasma, contemporary art museum

- walk around the design district (Helsinki is the world's capital of design)

- Helsinki cathedral

- go to the city market and have some local Finnish street food such as herrings or salmon

- Soumenlinna island

Take the ferry (it takes 15 minutes and costs 5 euros to go and back)

Suomenlinna is an 18th-century sea fortress and nature area with centuries-old artillery and defensive walls, spread across 6 linked islands. Walking trails cross parkland between popular sights like the King’s Gate drawbridge and Suomenlinna Museum, which recounts military and maritime history. Submarine Vesikko lets visitors explore a restored 1930s vessel. There's also a brewery and several waterside restaurants.

Save at least 4 hours for this trip!

Here you can have the best meatballs! Have some reindeer and some smashed potatoes as side dish!

Where to stay? Rent an apartment as it's much cheaper. You can then easily go around by tram or by Uber.

❄️In winter in really really cold! Make sure to bring extra gloves/socks/pants! ❄️
