Thus far, having watched four episodes of MHA Season 6, I'm at a point where things look to be taking a turn for the worse for our heroes. Even so, as a guy who has watched some dark anime such as Tokyo Ghoul and Attack On Titan, I'm still gonna go along for the ride, because no matter how bad things get, I'm still thoroughly convinced that Deku is gonna be all right in the end and become the world's greatest hero once the series is over. I mean, I've never read the manga, but whatever. Besides, I can always write more lighthearted MHA fics to comfort myself.

hello there dog!!! firstly, i just want too say im incredibly proud too see how far you have come, dialtown is so special too me, and for not only that game to be so loved, but also for you too be so involved in the community, is amazing keep up the great work! i do have a question, i am working on a theory pertaining to my favorite characters gingi/milton, and if i may, i have a couple questions about him specifically, if you don't mind of course :) 1. what made you come up with the design/personality of gingi?
2. what are your personal feelings/thoughts on gingi? are you satisficed with them as a character? or are there anything you wish you could change now? 3. this is a wierd one but, gingi generally does not really care what he looks like/what others think, so im really curious why hes so meticulous with making his phone/type head, and if he is so bent up about it, why not try to get someone like Oliver to make him a more proper one? instead of replacing the rotten flesh over and over
4. idk if you can answer this one, but i dont think it can hurt to try...was gingi around, before callum lost his mind?
if you cant answer this, then i have another, what flower would best represent gingi?
Milton question:
ok so....did Callum just straight up cheat on his Marla with Milt?...or am i mistaking something? what i read on the wiki says that milton and Callum had a romantic...fling?
2. did norm know milt? where they friends?
3. does mingus know at least some of the extent of miltons involvement with callum?
4. are there any plans with milton? he seems like such a cool character with crazy potential
that's my questions done, again thank you if you answer! and if not, thank you for making a truly special game, cant wait too see more gingi and dialtown in the future
1)Design for Gingi was primarily based on Frankenstein's aesthetic applied to a the chupacabra. Personality was largely ripped from quite a few unpublished stories/ideas I had before making DT. There's a few protagonists in other things I'd written as potential new game/story ideas that are eerily like Gingi.
2)I'm really really happy with Gingi as a character and I wouldn't change anything that I've established. I like how Gingi starts the game and changes by the end because it's pretty vast, but also not a complete change (and it happens very very gradually.)
TBH, outside of Gingi's interactions in DT, the fandom doesn't really know anything concrete about Gingi due to Gingi's poor memory. Until Gingi formed real human relationships, there was nothing to anchor to, just fragmented and barely remembered individual interactions. Honestly, the bigger picture is really interesting and I'm very happy with Gingi as a protagonist and I'd love to make sequels to DT as I've had concrete ideas for where the character would get up to in potential sequels for years now!
3)Gingi's flesh-head is a bit of a mystery. Gingi doesn't have the same adverse reaction to rotting things that most people do, but does have a general chip in its shoulder about being judged as lesser by others. Gingi (generally) does not make efforts to change its appearance to be seen as less repulsive by others, as we can plainly see from the fact Gingi often forgets (or refuses) to wear clothes.
4)I have all the main character date of births written down, so I could tell you Gingi's exact age... but it's more fun if I don't.
FOR MILT:
1)I'm not really sure why the wiki says that. There's no canon materials that state that Crown + Milt had an affair together. I think someone just read between the lines and stated their hunch as a fact.
2)Norm and Milt met but didn't know each other well. There was a cut mention of Milt in Norm's dialogue, but after a lot of head-scratching, felt the topic was too forced. Norm wouldn't have volunteered the information unless it was relevant to the scene and Gingi would not have asked.
3)Mingus knows about Milt, though not intimately. The only person alive during Mingus' lifetime who could've talked about Milt to her was her grandmother Marla, who was a husk of a person for Mingus' whole life (and in particular, talking about Milt would've hurt too much for her given their closeness.) Mingus knows about Milt from her obsessive study of her paw paw's presidency, but not much more than any historian/social studies teacher would. A lot of information I'd consider very important about Milt was never put to paper.
4)I'm not 100% sure why the fandom likes him as much as they do, given how little of him the fandom has seen (and how little information there is about him out there so far.) I just wanted a few references to him included in canon so I could potentially reveal more about him one day without fans wondering how this SUPER important character had never been mentioned. It's incredibly likely that I'll show more of Milt in future DT stuff due to how instrumental he was in Crown's decision-making + rise to power. There would be no practical way to expand on Crown without discussing Milt more.
There's a much bigger picture that the fandom hasn't seen much of that Milt is very important to, though it isn't often relevant to the modern day events of DT. Understanding Milt isn't important to understand DT itself, but is to understand both Crown and exactly how the world (and by extension, Dialtown itself) ended up exactly the way it did. And with time, I will discuss that some more.

In defense of The Marriage of Figaro's sequel : The Guilty Mother
(If there are any typos... no there weren't.)
Ten years - it has been ten years. 😭 I have spent ten years doting on Beaumarchais' trilogy, cherishing and nurturing this great special interest of mine. In doing so, I have often re-read the composing plays of this trilogy (so often in fact I have lost count... it would have been difficult to do so in the span of ten years anyways)...
And I have found myself to appreciate, for what it is, the final (and perhaps slightly infamous) play of the trilogy : The Guilty Mother.
To start off clear, I wish to say first and foremost I do agree The Guilty Mother is terribly out of place when put next to its prequels. Being the sole drama out of three plays, the others being comedies, this third play can absolutely be considered as the edgy younger sibling of the bunch... However, as estranged from its prequels as it may be, I find charm and a certain logic to it.
(A [as short as can be] synopsis of The Guilty Mother : The narrative unfolds twenty years after The Marriage of Figaro. The plot centers on past events wherein the Countess Rosine Almaviva and Chérubin have had, at some point between the second and third play, an affair, during the Count’s prolonged absence on business. When the Countess admonished Chérubin for their indiscretion and resolved never to see him again after giving birth to their son, he departed for war, where he sought and found death [to put it bluntly he killed himself as he could not bear to never see his love again, how NICE ♡]. As he lay dying, he wrote this awfully sad, final letter to the Countess, confessing his love and regret, and detailing their liaison. Unable to discard the letter, the Countess secured it in a special box with a hidden compartment, crafted by an Irishman named Bégearss, to conceal the evidence from the Count.
Over the years, the Count harbored suspicions about the paternity of Léon, the Countess's son. Driven by these doubts, he has been squandering his wealth to ensure Léon inherits nothing, even renouncing his title and relocating the family to Paris. Yet, his uncertainty has prevented him from formally disowning the boy or confronting the Countess. Concurrently, the Count has an illegitimate daughter, Florestine, whom Bégearss seeks to marry [because of course]. To secure Florestine as the Count’s sole heir, Bégearss begins to exploit the Countess’s secret. Figaro and Suzanne, still married, must once again intervene to protect the Count and Countess, and their illegitimate children Léon and Florestine, who harbor a secret love for one another.)
To me, the plot, though drastically different from what was previously expected of this trilogy, works... though it is not grandiosly written [and at times a very meek plotline], it possesses both charm and logic.
Logic, as it was never meant to be between Chérubin and Rosine (and it truly does pain me to say this as I am a Chérubin/Rosine truther to the grave, and generally I simply wish for these two characters' happiness with great fervour)... as sweet as what might have and could have been between the two young people, the awful laws of reality cannot really bend too much for them. 😭 It was bound for their affair to end one way or another (that was sort of mean for Beaumarchais to kill off poor Chérubin but alright.), as goes the struggle of fairly much any character in a drama : they may try to fight against Fate itself, but ultimately it is a pointless battle. (I HATE BEAUMARCHAIS SO MUCH I HATE EVERYTHING I'M CANCELING MY AUTISM SUBSCRIPTION)
I also think it explores wonderfully how affected by her (frankly abusive 🙁) marriage Rosine has become over the years, and how guilt-ridden she is — she has lost herself in her many wounds of the heart, eternally basking in her misery, and to me it really seems her mental decline has been beautifully handled and more seriously explored, especially in sc. XIII, Act III (in which she has this awful mental breakdown and is fully convinced Chérubin is sending her some sort of divine message for her to join him in death, and wholly believing she is going to die as she says those words... oh she is NOT doing well).
Charm, as I think the characters themselves (except for the Count - because of course, and because of Bégearss - I just cannot truly convince myself to like him, even as an antagonist I think there's far too little time for us to get to know him 😭) are all more or less charming! I find both Léon and Florestine to be interesting, but as I just said, I think there was too little time for us to truly get to know them and therefore get too attached to them... which is a shame, because now, to me, they just seem to serve as a parallel/alternate version to Rosine and Chérubin instead of actually being anything beyond this.
...But as somewhat shallow as Léon and Florestine can at times be, I find the parallel between them and Chérubin and Rosine to be absolutely brilliant - Léon is the more obvious parallel of the two : he quite resembles his father. First, as they share a name (Chérubin's government name being Chérubin Léon d'Astorga - his second name being his son's was his dying wish to Rosine, wish which she granted) : which is... quite telling, but also in how idealistic and sensitive he can at times be. As for Florestine, it is a bit more subtle (though that is arguable) : her name resembles Rosine's (both names' meaning is about flowers, and sound quite similar too as they both end in -ine) - she carries herself and acts very similar to her (I would argue she acts moreso like her in the Barber of Seville rather than in the later plays) - an old man (Bégearss) attempting to set apart her and her lover to marry Florestine himself (sounds awfully similar to a certain plotline, does it not...? - though here it obviously does reflect more the Countess/Count dynamic, but I am simply trying to say how similar she is to Rosine : I am not attempting to draw any relationship parallels here specifically 🙇🏻‍♀️)
With these two being so similar to Rosine and Chérubin, I feel as if through their love (...also, what was the fake incest twist about - I know it's Beaumarchais, but come on) and granted wedding, it is as if we get a glimpse of what Chérubin and the Countess could have been under different circumstances - or for that matter, how they could have been while they had an affair... It's so bittersweet, but at the same time, it is as if Rosine finds solace and acceptance in her grief knowing Florestine and Léon get to marry. 🥹
Overall, I think it is a rather important piece in the Figaro canon, though fairly objectively not as well-written (I audibly sighed upon the Count and the Countess not getting a divorce even by the end of the play, for the love of God, please let the poor woman break free from the cycle of abuse already) and frankly out-of-place : to enjoy it, I think it is necessary to not get your standards too high upon deciding to read/watch it... appreciate it for what it is, and just... sigh in despair at the what is not very good. 😭
Now - Departing a bit from the original subject, there is one example of foreshadowing in a stage production of Le Nozze di Figaro I would like to show you all (it is in fact my favourite stage production, I think everyone fits their role perfectly, and the staging is sooo good!)
One thing I do not particularily enjoy is how some productions disregard The Guilty Mother either in 1.making Chérubin and the Countess not interact at all in the finale (-> in the last scene, play-wise, they actually do interact and Rosine even gives to Chérubin her ribbon, THE ribbon, hinting at something after the play...) 2.clumsily attempting to hint at the Guilty Mother by making Chérubin's attempts at seducing Rosine completely fail (...ultimately they do fail : I mean, the poor boy DIES because of his love for her - but at some point his feelings have to be reciprocated for Léon to exist...) - But there is a production... somewhere out there, that subtly hints at The Guilty Mother in a way that doesn't leave Chérubin absolutely loveless (consdering what happens next in the Figaro canon, he is quite in luck so far actually 😭) : and that production is the Royal College of Music's 2018 production of Le Nozze di Figaro (stage directing was done by Sir Thomas Allen himself!).
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
(-> Chérubin wanting to intervene between the Count and the Countess making up - Antonio physically restrains him from doing so - Chérubin shakes off his arm and just glances miserably at Rosine 😭)
...Now this might seem like either a very on-the-nose, confused wink at The Guilty Mother, or a direction which I have stated I do not like much, which is the unrequited love route (which just contradicts the Figaro canon even if not taking account of The Guilty Mother - they both already got feelings for eachother in The Marriage of Figaro!)
But we are only half-way through the finale - as soon as the music hits the allegro assai "Questo Giorno di tormenti, di capricci e di follia", the acting goes along with the tempo and actually picks up in vivacity and joy WHICH IS EVERYTHING I EVER NEEDED (I am absolutely losing my cool over there sorry)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I love the subtleness of it - it's only about a few seconds, but sets the tone right for the end of the opera which is just perfect. 🤭 And to me, a sensible and great approach when it comes to referencing The Guilty mother.
TL;DR : The Guilty Mother is so bad it's kind of loveable. (it does have its enjoyable quirks though)

I just wanna know, why did you decided to create Nightbound game? It could have also been Elementalists, Foreign Affairs, Distant Shores... and you like Open Heart too. What inspired you to choose Nightbound?
Take care.
I talked a lot about my inspiration for doing a Nightbound sequel game here: https://garrusxnightbound.tumblr.com/post/685064379658649600/what-inspired-you-to-create-this-nightbound
Now let's talk about how I feel about other fan fiction sequel game ideas!
First of all a Distant Shores fan sequel game is in the works and I've even spoken with the founder and while I'm not working on it I fully support it and am super looking forward to this one!
And of course a lot you already know about the Hero Vol 2 project and the ongoing It Lives Within!
Now let's talk a little about Open Heart. As you may know from the brycebound blog, Bryce and Rafael are two of my most loved LIs and OH also has one of my most loved MCs and I do enjoy doing little fan fiction shorts both written and visually. That being said, I think since OH ended with Book 3, overall I think the story ran its course so I don't think I would pursue doing a fan fiction game for that. Not to mention I'm not really a medical expert.
Foreign Affairs having a fan made sequel would be fun and I'm a big fan of Tatum but at the same time such a sequel would have to give really good treatment to Ayna for me to support such a project.
The Elementalists is possibly one of the series that sparks the most joy possibly even more than Nightbound. If you've been following brycebound then you know that Griffin is one of my Top 5 LIs and I love the setting and escapism in that series. I love the MC and the magic customization, I love my brother Atlas and I love the whole Pend Pals group and learning all the spells and having fun with all the magic college life. Of course in a fan made sequel it would be important to balance the LIs and I would love to see some point of view switches with Atlas (sort of like how they did The Princess Swap). Of course there would be issues with carrying over setup choices since in comparison with Nightbound, TE had 2 books and a holiday special and a ton of player agency with questions so there would be quite a number of determinants to check off.

SW fandom rant
To be honest, I don't really know how or where can I start talking about this. If you aren't interested in any of the Star Wars drama that is going on then skip this post, cause its gonna be long... these goes for the SW fans we are concerned about the whole situation itself. I barely have the strength to do this and exposing my opinion about certain things makes me uncomfortable but it's been a long while since I'm keeping things to myself. There's much information I have to process so please be patient with me since I barely know how to express my emotions in the right way (that's why I'm holding myself back a lot here: it will seem I'm calm... but I'm not. I'm angry and tired at the same time).
DISNEY CANON
We all know where it all started. The Force Awakens premiere in 2015. We will start from there.
As ANY star wars movie, there will be people who liked it, people who loved it and people who hated it. And there is where some fans clash with the others. Fans who enjoy practically every movie or SW related things and those fans who demonize every movie (specially the ones from the new Disney canon) and the only thing that matters for them are the episodes IV, V, VI and the Legends canon (some of them also defend the prequel episodes I, II and III, fact which I'll talk about it later). And they bash against everyone who likes the Disney sequels.
BOI IM SCARED OF TELLING PEOPLE THIS WAS MY FAVOURITE SAGA SO FAR. And I already had problems with Legends hardcore fans.
Tumblr media
Let me tell this straightaway... Star Wars are movies for kids. They've always been. George Lucas said it. They seem to be thirsty for feeling again what they felt when they were kids whenever a SW movie comes out but they always exit the cinema with a feeling of extreme disappointment.
I was talking about the last movie with my co workers at the beginning of the year and they complaint it was "too Disney". And that's precisely what I'm trying to explain! It's ok whether you like the sequels or not like them. Everyone has his own taste. I just find funny complaining for a whole saga originally made for kids for being "too Disney". I dont know if you get my point here.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uEsOqEpNF0k&list=PL8SlwcJuVWR2FNtL-6Wo5QUP6LMjpNJUA
LEGENDS CANON
Then there's those who hated the prequels, that said there was nothing worse than the phantom menace, those who hated on George Lucas for doing such a crap, but now praise the prequels because Disney is satan for them and they want the old canon back. George Lucas ended up selling SW to Disney because, he ain't no fool, he knows this fanbase is one of the most toxic and ungrateful that has ever existed. And he saw it with the prequels feedback... Then they now have the guts to demand him to continue the old canon? Smells like hypocrite-crying fanboys to me.
Tumblr media
My whole point is....It's ok if you are a new/Disney sequels fan, it's ok if you are a prequels fan, it's ok if you are a SW original movies fan, Legends canon fan, OG fan, casual fan, hardcore fan... as always you understand that not everyone will agree with your point of view, not everyone will like or think the same way as you do, or live SW the same way as you do. There's a difference between respecting and agreeing with, concepts which sometimes get mixed and taken as the same thing, which is not. Respect other fans mean "I don't agree with you but I know how much this means for you, so I won't intentionally mock you" WHICH THING LEADS US TO THE NEXT TOPIC:
JOHN BOYEGA
*takes a deep breath*
Man. I dont know. He's a full grown up man and he's behaving like a 5 yo on his social media...... John is the actor who gives life to Finn (the ex stormtrooper). It all started with this sexist comment he responded to a fan in his IG.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Then people (naturally) got offended, specially reylos. But instead of apologizing he kept on going, remarked what he said and also did a video to mock the reylo community.
You think I'm only defending a ship here but no. Its bigger than that. He has the right to feel left out in this saga because I agree with him IN THAT FACT. He is probably the actor which is more into the SW world, he was always a big fan (of the whole cast I mean). Thats why fans love him do much. And I did love him too. And he (naturally) wanted to have more spotlight on this saga ( I think Finn was one of the most wasted characters of these movies tbh) But instead of taking it the mature way he's having a tantrum on his IG because Finnrey did not become a real thing, he's trolling reylos and encouraging SW haters and antis to bully them whose are already having a hard time with TROS end (which I'll talk about later because I dont like their attitude about it either).
And it's not just raise the hate on shippers thing dude you could just apologize because you said something sexist and offended a lot of people who ship reylo and really means a thing for them. The whole thing that the greatest achievement a man can have with a woman is sex is just DISGUSTING. Rey kissed Ben but now he's gone Finn has the road clear and can fuck her? BRUH.
This is all so wrong and he was the one who started it.
Tumblr media
ADAM DRIVER
I'm really relieved Adam does not have any social media because omg I would be suffering so much rn...
I honestly have never emotionally connected with an actor so much as I did with him. His whole acting is so good and I could really notice on this last movie. I'm starting to watch his other movies. And not just his acting, he's so professional off camera too.
I'm really happy and proud of him for his Oscar nomination, he really deserves it TT
Tumblr media Tumblr media
But I'm worried this whole John Boyega thing affects him. Idk how I would feel if I were in his shoes, if my coworker was saying those things on social media and then smile at me like nothing is happening. But honestly what hurts me the most is he's having a worse time with "reylos".. I think the rumors of him having an affair with Daisy Ridley was what messed things up. I honestly dont know if its true, I've got some info but it's hard to believe. Because there are so many haters manipulating fake info that I dont trust anything and anyone anymore.
And this is where I talk about:
REYLOS AND DAIVERS
BOI OH BOI
This is gonna be hard....
First of all, I don't consider Daivers (Daisy x Adam shippers) as part of the reylo community. I'm sorry. But its fucking disgusting you going to demand Adam to divorce from his wife, abandon his son and then start dating Daisy because of this rumor or because you can't separate fiction from reality.... I read he even recieved death threats ARE WE NUTS??? They (Adam and Daisy) having a good chemistry working together doesn't mean they are in love, kids...
Driver has an awesome wife and a lovely son. Daisy is currently dating someone.
Tumblr media
Infidelity is gross. No more. And I would be so disappointed at them if this turns out to be true. But seeing all what's happening around the actors and specially having all this haters out there... I'll say this was all false information.
Daiver is not real and won't be. So stick only to the fictional ship.....
About Reylo itself. I find REALLY funny how people who dont know shit about what this ship means say it's an abusive relationship. Bullshit. I wouldn't be shipping them if so.
Also the people still stating it's not real/canon hiding themselves behind the "Ben solo is dead lol" argument. Do you stop loving someone when they die?
Yes, they love each other. No, it wasn't always reciprocated love. They started being enemies in the force awakens, friends who understood and cared for each other through force dyad in the last jedi and ended up being lovers at the end of the rise of Skywalker. Rey wants to revenge her family (her falling to the dark side) but also wants Ben Solo back, and he wants to be the most powerful leader on the galaxy and still being kylo ren. But they eventually meet in the middle between light and dark and Leia finally reaches out to him to make him turn to the light. That's their fight. That's the angst. That's the tea. "No one is ever really gone" there's always hope. Star Wars is centered in HOPE. And their story represents it at its finest.
Tumblr media
NOW. The reylo community.
Despite you liked it or not the end they gave to the saga... I think JJ Abrams doesn't deserve all the hate he's receiving... he probably did a lot of things wrong but seriously... just stop. Not only from reylos but the whole fandom.
Sending hate won't lead to anything now...
Tumblr media
I enjoyed The rise of Skywalker. Indeed I spent half of the movie crying and I loved it.
You can cry as much as you want the loss of Ben (although I have hope for him still being alive in a way, there are plenty of theories) but that doesn't give you the right to death threat JJ. And I think I'll stop here cause I'm already tired.
Everyone has their own taste, preferences, favourite characters, ships, whatever. I pray for people stop judging others for their tastes, specially in this cursed fanbase. Sorry if I ever misbehaved trying to defend what I think or like. I just want this place to be supportive and safe for everyone and everything what's happening is not helping... We are all SW fans and that's our connection point. Dont discredit others for having another point of view...
I'll leave it here, but I'm open to debate or talk about anything I said in a respectful way.
