gonna take a quick break from writing just to talk about how much of a shitshow bbc has been lately.
obviously, bbc has thrown this cb super fucking last minute that concept images were literally shot at the most four days before they were released and bbc got exposed for reusing old mv clips along with stock videos. even with their tracklist too, there's no way in hell they had everyone in the studio recording new songs like a month before this cb. it's more likely that they're just using old tracks that never made the cut on some albums (pretty sure this has been proven since they're releasing a track with monotree, someone they've stopped working with long ago). i won't be surprised if bbc releases la maison from its dungeon just to reel orbits back in.
also, i know that bbc IMMEDIATELY denied the rumor of nine members trying to resign from the company but literally no one has been posting since the chuu departure apart from vivi and hyunjin the only two who weren't included in that rumor. so it's obvious that the girls are tryna boycott as much as they can without breaching their contract.
but thank mf god this boycott is working. i know bbc is fucking stressing the fuck out rn seeing these low ass views and very low sales (pre-order sales were literally less than 10 i think like two days after it was announced). i hope that loona either disbands and gets picked up by another company (hybe i'm looking at you or even sm) or those girls finally get fucking paid.
i know that orbit's hard work along with the moon girl's hard work is kinda going down the drain in terms of gaining popularity and becoming big. but hey, our girls deserve justice from this shitty ass company and we are so close to getting it!
if you don't know how to boycott bbc here are a few things you can do!
DO NOT STREAM THEIR MUSIC FROM SPOTIFY, APPLE MUSIC, ETC. -> on spotify you can even set loona to "Do not play this artist"
do not watch/stream any official music videos and teasers from their social media accounts
do not buy any albums from anywhere -> if u wanna buy their old albums buy second hand like from insta, ebay or mecari!
do not engage with any of the teasers that they post for this cb
if you wanna post/view the teasers @/loonatherepost on twt has everything!
literally go start watching those lyric mv videos from jaeguci aksjdlf
BASICALLY DO THE EXACT OPPOSITE OF WHAT YOU WOULD NORMALLY DO FOR A CB!!!

hello SJ i hope you're well! i had a quick question: how do you keep your discipline and focus to make your projects happen?
I'm pretty good! I have a long answer for your quick question.
Practical answer (that works but is of course surface level): Try to set aside a little bit of time each day or at least a few times a week. Even if it's super low stakes, like 15 minutes, to work on your project. Or like, 'I will work on this for as long as this album lasts'. I find those 15 minutes quickly morph into much longer times because I get sucked into it, but if I don't set aside that time it can be hard or daunting to get started. 'Working' can also mean 'thinking' or 'looking for inspiration'. It doesn't have to be active physical creation all the time.
I also personally think fully outlining the scope of a project is helpful to keep from getting stuck or written into a corner because you can see the full spread of everything at all times regardless of how fleshed out it is, and be able to respond fluidly whenever you need to change or fix something, but that's a personal preference.
NOW, my more wooey but, imo, ultimate answer that needs to exist for the practical answer above to do anything long term:
You need to design projects around what you really care about. Ideally things that you've cared about for a very very long time. Not what you think you should care about, or what other people think you should care about, but the things that you always find yourself drawn to and returning to. I think asking 'what do I love' and 'why do I love it', or 'what am I obsessed with' and 'why am I obsessed with it' is helpful.
I remember I gave a talk to some college students about this very thing and I opened it with ‘what’s a long time obsession you’ve had’. Because I think exploring what we always come back to and why we come back to it is really what sustains passion and interest in a project, regardless of what’s trending, or what’s marketable, or what's expected of you, or what new shiny media you’re engaging with at the time is.
There are A LOT of projects I started and didn’t finish. And it wasn’t because it was about something I wasn't interested in or didn't care about! But all of those long-term projects were also tied to ideas of ‘who is my audience…what am I trying to say with this to a wider group of people…what's the point of me making this particular kind of art...what work do I want to be known for?’ Which isn’t to say those aren’t important questions, but those are questions that will be naturally answered when you turn to ‘why do I feel drawn to this specific thing so fully and so deeply?' and will perhaps be more authentically answered rather than if you go into a project with those being your early questions.
All of this research and all of this work I do for Going to Weather is something that would be very tedious if it was something that I didn’t utterly love. But this is what I do on a Friday night at like, 2am. And I think that love of something is really what not only sustains a project but enriches it.
And I wanna emphasize that what works for one person is not gonna work for another person, and so ultimately you have to find what serves you and what serves that passion on your own. And the paths to following that passion are sometimes really winding, and really random, and they take you places that you never would have expected. As an example, the thing that gave me the greatest grounding in doing my work was stumbling into public history as a career, not art like I expected, despite having zero background in it and also being terrified of public speaking from the ages of like, 12-22! If what you care about takes you away from your initial idea, I say follow it, cos the end of it all, it’s all in service to connecting to what you really care about.
I personally think love enriches a story more than anything else.

The Clevengers
I used the Life Manager mod from Sacrificial Mods to create a family tree for the patriarch in this new save. This gets us parents in-game who show up periodically. It also gets us grandparents, some of whom are usually DOA; we get their gravestones in our inventory and can set them wherever. So two of his grandparents have been bound to their gravestones, which are set up next to the house. You will note that there is only one parent here; that's because the family tree was created for the adult sim--you can't do it for infants. I'll let you know what stage it starts working. In the meantime, if you have any ideas about where the babygirl's mama is, I'm open to suggestions. If you think she died, include how and if she gets generated when I can make a family tree for the little girl, I'll take care of it.
The Family and Their Home
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Meet Brantley. He's a single dad. The first image here is the random Sim the game generated for me; the other two show you how I changed him. Once I started the game, I used KawaiiStacie's Life Decider to get him skills, a job, some more traits, and a few new acquaintances/friends/enemies.
Traits from CAS: Materialistic, Oblivious, Neat
Traits from mod: Left-Handed, Drinkoholic, The Supervisor--ESTJ, Prefers Exclusive Romantic Relationships, Domestic, Weak Bladder, Sinister
Aspiration: Super Parent
Career: Culinary

This is Rosemary, Brantley's daughter, when she was an infant. First image is how she came up via genetics and randomization; second is after I went in and picked some clothes and a new hairstyle etc. As an infant, Rosemary was Wiggly.

I bought Daisy Hovel, couldn't find a build I liked in my library or my gallery, so I bulldozed it and built something for my small family that fit their budget and the family. Money was tight, so we were missing a few things at first, but don't worry--as Brantley earned money we were able to purchase some new items to fill in the blanks.
Except curtains. I always forget to put up curtains.
Gameplay

Brantley's a good dad. He does his best to take care of Rosemary. I'm hoping they'll have a great relationship as she grows up.
I do not have Growing Together, so my infants can crawl and everything. I appreciate that because it makes it easier to get their fun up!

The BFFs came over for Welcome Wagon. We stood in the entry and talked. I think Brantley mostly befriended Summer? I'll have to check.
Brantley doesn't like fruitcake. I threw it out.

Gotta take care of that baby, even if your own needs are low. That's parenting, folks.
And then Rosemary aged up!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
She is SO CUTE. Her toddler trait is Charmer; the extra trait is that she's Right-Handed.
Naturally, I had to get a bunch of toddler stuff for the house.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
A lot of my todd stuff is CC. LMK if you want to know who made some of it, but in general you're gonna want Ravasheen, Pandasama, Syboulette/SyBouBou, and Sixamcc.
Naturally, I had to check Rosemary out in CAS and fix up her look.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
First image is her game-generated everyday look. second is after I cleaned her up. And last you see her in her new bunny pyjamas. Brantley is sleeping, he was exhausted.
I don't know where this is going to go, I tend not to think that far ahead. So far Brantley has been working and taking care of his baby girl. Now she's a toddler, she won't need as much help so hopefully he'll be able to engage in his hobbies more--he likes to play guitar and violin, and he likes making toys. I don't think he'd start dating until she's old enough to be left at home by herself. At that point, he might go for a blind date via the SimDa Dating App mod from LittleMsSam and see what happens.
What do you think of my new save? Any thoughts on where this might go?
