Contemplating when blood is explictly shown in Milgram MVs and for what purpose. (Plenty of shots of blood and bloodied people below the cut)
Both of Muu's songs show a pretty clear-cut image of the murder, blood and all.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
But it's interesting to note that, while Muu does show realistic blood in both MVs, in After Pain it's only for a single shot: most of the shots of Rei's body have her covered in a neon green liquid instead - the same liquid inside the hourglass. But in It's Not My Fault, while the hourglass does return, it's not used as a stand-in for blood this time, only showing realistic shots of blood at the scene.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Realistic blood is again shown in The Purge March and although this whole scene is metaphorical, it is highly likely that this is what the state of the actual weapon would have been.
Tumblr media
Some of the blood in MeMe appears to be representative of real events (though the circumstances around the murder are still so vague I can't say for sure), but some of it is clearly over-exaggerated for dramatic effect and not a representation what literally happened.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Sometimes blood is purely symbolic, like in Cat (in addition it is coloured pitch-black, even on Hinako's face when the lighting should make it appear brighter).
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Similar to the above, the blood in Bring It On is symbolic of Fuuta's guilt, but is portrayed with more realistic colouration.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Then you have Haruka's weird midground, where he has blood in both his MVs, and both are heavily stylized (albeit in different ways). If the shot at the end of All-Knowing and All-Agony is any indication, he strangled his victim which should have been a bloodless death, but he has engaged in literal bloody activity before (killing pets), so his blood appears to be both metaphorical and literal.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
At the end of Deep Cover, Kotoko stands covered in neon pink blood, chess pieces representing the other prisoners scattered about her feet. But the only pieces that are shown are those voted Innocent in T1 - those she has not yet attacked. So the blood here is not representative of any particular event, but rather her intentions.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
But if that's the case, what does that say for Double, which portrays John standing in a train, dripping with blood the wrong colour as he attacks mannequins? Is this merely a mental block he has because he cannot clearly remember the events? Or, like Kotoko's similar theming above, is it purely metaphorical, indicating his emotions rather than his actions?
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Then we get to Milgram Enigma Number 1, Mahiru. I Love You undoubtedly shows realistic blood, but whether it is literal or not is left very unclear. If the only bloodstain present was the one on his torso I'd be more inclined to believe it was truly all a metaphor; a betrayed or bleeding heart. But that doesn't explain the stain on the sleeve. And of course, it begs the question: if it is metaphorical, what is it representing? Fuuta showed guilt by recoiling at the blood on his hands, and Kazui showed remorse and how he feels like a monster by tearing a dove apart. But we don't see Mahiru cause this wound, nor does she react to it. As of right now I don't understand enough about Mahiru to form a concrete conclusion but if the trend in the other MVs is anything to go by, I'm afraid that these bloodstains might be more literal than I want to believe.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Interesting to note that Fuuta is the only character to show blood in his T1 MV but not the second, and both Yuno and Shidou show no blood in either MV (ironically enough for Shidou, as things like rotting fruit have to take the place of organs and blood instead)

Es
Warden test subject of the Milgram Prison.
Follows the "Erudition" Path
Element type: Imaginary
--
Es as the test subject:
Almost emotionless. Looks constantly tired and thin. Examinations, tests, experiments, reservoir. And so on, until they was put to watch Milgram.
They was bald for a long time, because that way doctors don’t have to watch their hair. Their hair began to grow while Es was in the reservoir and nothing was required of their body but existence.
Es As AI:
The whole ship is their body, even if they can’t go outside and their little numbered copies do that. But, because they're directly connected to the internet, their character and humor leave much to be desired better.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
As a captain of the ship:
Became softer. Shows increased tactliness to the prisoners, but does not like to receive in reverse (years of experiments affect). Had to learn how to function as a human again.
The Internet has had a huge impact on them, since they was a ship, and even though it seems like a nice kid, they can wery professionally sink someone's self-esteem.
Jackalope:
Another AI program that used one of the researchers who was following Es.
After Es’ rescue from the reservoir, he lost contact with the main post of Milgram and was taken over by Es.

ranking the milgram characters by how they'd hold babies if their bouquets were actual babies
MAHIRU SHIINA — 10/10 MOTHER MATERIAL
Solid and overall perfect stance. If we ignore the slightly bunched back, she's perfectly holding both the lower part of the baby and the upper part by giving legs and back/head support, protecting them and having a solid hold on the kid in a way there's no chance the baby would fall unless she's really distracted. Congrats mappi
Tumblr media
YUNO KASHIKI — 9/10 UM GUYS UM
Thank god this young lady has no kids! Overall Yuno's hold is very solid. She isn't giving full protection on the upper part of the body but by her hold the baby would be fully resting upon her own body in a way they'd only fall if they make some parkour to roll out of her grasp and fall into his back. Contrary to mappi she's not shielding the baby so they'll probably see amazing things like jackalope and the walls of milgram and the other prisoners.
Tumblr media
SHIDOU KIRISAKI — 9/10 SOLID FIRST TIME DAD HOLD
This is the baby hold of a man who just saw their children being born and is now holding them for the first time. You can see he knows the basics like holding the legs and resting their body into your arms but there's way too little protection in their back when compared to yuno who can give the baby uppies so they don't fall. Shidous isn't as much of a "hold" as much as it is a "there's a baby resting in my arms" and that's okay!
Tumblr media
MIKOTO KAYANO — 7/10 SILLY UNCLE
Not a parent hold as much as it is an uncle hold! They're not exactly holding the baby properly but they're probably keeping support to the kid by holding them by the legs and making them rest the upper body against his own which again quite dangerous but it's okay because this dude isn't the parent as much as he is those uncle's that would give insanely annoying toys as gifts for the children to annoy their parents
Tumblr media
KAZUI MUKUHARA — 4/10 KID GRASP
he's literally just grasping the kid by their back as if they're a sack of oranges this is great. Either that or the kid is just hanging to him by grasping his shirt and fighting for it's life as he holds their back against him. Bad hold but not horrible I wouldn't trust him with a child but it's okay. Almost passable grade.
Tumblr media
FUUTA KAJIYAMA — 2/10 POTATO SACK
This guy is holding this baby as if they're a potato sack. As if he'll just hit someone up with this baby. The baby is at least FULLY leaning into the shoulders as we can see so it means they won't immediately fall and someone can save them but the way he's grasping the baby's legs is worrisome. That's a potential trip to the hospital. Do not trust fuuta kajiyama with your babies he will turn them into gamers
Tumblr media
MUU KUSUNOKI — 1/10 PEEKABOO
Why are you hiding the poor baby from its parents. this kid is probably keeling over to the front and will soon fall into his head but for now they're safe because they're at least leaning upwards. This is probably some workout because holding a baby like this would be painful as shit the shoulders would be sore. Bee/10
Tumblr media
HARUKA SAKURAI — 0/10 HE HAD TO DO IT TO EM
We can excuse Haruka because if I was in his shoes I too would probably hold a kid by doing the i had to do it to em pose. Upside down. This kid will immediately fall into his head and get some good injuries the moment his hold on their legs slips and the baby falls. Haruka Sakurai can play with babies but both should be on the floor, do not let him pick them up.
Tumblr media
KOTOKO YUZURIHA — -1/10 LIFTING
Like harukas but with one hand. Somehow more dangerous because as we can see this baby is actively attempting to walk away and is therefore not only more likely to slip because of that, but because Kotoko is holding them with one hand only. this baby will fall directly into their mouth and start crying for hours on end because kotoko couldn't even give the kid both of her hands to hold them.

AMANE MOMOSE — FLOOR/10
