i wonder why Spearmaster has no strong connections with violence or the violence karma despite being only able to feed when impaling other creatures
#ikildaman shut the fuck up#downpour#ugh spoilers tag rant#ok i did a basic sweep of the wiki and it seems SM was designed to try and minimise animalistic tendencies to further encourage its purpose#as yknow a purposed organism#but i still dont get how in The Great Scheme Of Everything this doesnt reflect on them#if Artificer can get traumatised into a violence machine and thus be Damned by the Way The World/Ascension Works#then why is it different for Spearmaster. because they're not angry when they stab shit? because they have no other way to sustain themself#as if it is mere anger that drives Arti mind you. that is an animal.#the sophontness of the slugcats r debatable and i find it weirdly cruel how Arti gets locked out of ascension#even though we have the option to not genocide a bunch of scavs. even though we are Forced to use violence to progress in game#idk man i will always find issues with the logic of ascension and the 'morality' applied to it honestly this shits nonsense#gourmand doesnt get dissolved out of an ascending ending despite his attachment to TWO worldly 'sins' !!!!!#gourmand got a real wank off of an ascension ending literally just a recolour of survivors ending. shake my fuckig head#yknow i really liked the approach to gourmand i had extremely abysmal expectations for him#but the lazy ascension ending really kind of just ruins it a little bit 2 me..... idk........#at least be consistent in locking slugcats who are anchored to the world via the games five 'sins' out of ascension. please#same with spearmaster i feel like their ascension might be a copout. they have such a nothing story HDSHDSGGHGSHGS#theres lots of good stuff here but in the background. shit we dont get to live thru. SM was a suicide aid at one point. can you believe tha#though i suppose Survivor is kind of inherently tied to one of the anchoring sins yknow. but their whole deal is journeying past that#so. in the end we just hate Arti i guess even though the gameplay does not let us grow past that!! yayyy rainworld !!!!#im literally only ranting about this because im trying to assign each cat a karma symbol lord help me#Survivor can grow past their anchor to the world being survival + Spearmaster can grow past their anchor potentially being violence and#companionship. Gourmand heavily tied with gluttony and companionship but can ascend + who gives a fuck about him am i right guys#Hunter can grow past its tie to the anchor of violence and survival + i dont think Rivulet even has any strong ties beyond companionship#so of course Riv can ascend Riv can do whatever it wants + Saints anchor to the world is existence itself or maybe ascension violence#dont ask me what the fuck is going on with Saint because then it brings Echoes into the process and that further fucks everything up#obviously Monk can follow in Survivor's footsteps but has even less sins anchoring him to the world + Paincat isnt canon#Artificer cannot do any of these things though because ? fuck you is why. i dont know. Artificer cannot have shit#maybe Arti became an echo. i assume she did

gaara&ino | a little outtake of a psychiatric ward au :)
ino is a "schizophrenic", she hears things which she believes are people's thoughts, and so claims she can read people's minds. she has motor ticks and a tendency for repetitive actions which is channeled through her hobby of arranging flowers. her room in the ward is filled with flower wreaths, arrangements etc, and she gets very anxious when they are out of place. she also has OCD.
gaara is a narcoleptic kid with anti social and behavioural issues. he wears a straight jacked most of the time and it only gets tied up when he exhibits signs of going into an episode (his episodes are characterised by violence and destruction and is a great threat to himself and those around him, but especially himself). his room in the ward is padded to avoid injury.
gaara often uses his narcolepsy as an excuse for getting out of trouble and avoiding certain conversations and people.
due to the heavy medications that gaara is always under, his emotions are extremely subdued and he doesn't feel any of them in any real intensity, the meds keep him emotionally invalid and numb.
ino and gaara become unlikely friends when gaara was going into an episode and some of the other patients were enabling him by feeding his anger by bullying him and throwing stuff at him. ino punched one of them in the face and dragged gaara away from them.
gaara bit her arm hard enough to draw blood but she withstood it through tears in her eyes and told him, "i won't hold that against you because i know you're scared."
when the nurses finally arrived, the worst of it had already passed but he was still given some medications to placate him. to which ino says, "he really hates those, you know?"
gaara just stares at her, puzzled. it is the first time someone has stood up for him and has voiced his thoughts that he keeps to himself.
from then on, she sticks to gaara like glue. he finds solace in her room because it smells of earth and flowers and it is very calm and quiet. ino's voice is bright and melodic and she has full conversations with him without him needing to open his mouth because ino says she can read his thoughts better than anyone else's; and he accepts this as true because more often than not she's right about what he's thinking.
because of this, ino speaks on his behalf to the nurses and doctors and other patients. gaara gets particularly moody when the doctors ignore ino's words and turn to him to ask, "is that right gaara? do you really feel [insert what ino said]?" he just angrily nods, and ino crosses her arms haughtily and reminds them that she can read his mind and "you don't have to talk to him like he doesn't understand."
they develop an unhealthy attachment that causes both of them anxiety when they are separated. ino needs to protect him and gaara needs the peace she brings him. however, gaara causes her a lot of grief when he destroys her room at times during his fits which triggers her OCD and she has to lock him out for hours or even days at a time to re-arrange her room. similarly, gaara feels exposed when she reads him too well, many times he can be heard yelling at her to get out of his head. their fights are as explosive as their friendship is easy.
gaara's once bare and empty room slowly gets filled by colourful blankets and pillows and plushies that ino buys for him. he can regularly be found sleeping under a large soft pile in the corner of his room.
ino is always excited to see temari when gaara's siblings come to visit. even though gaara isn't always thrilled or really feels like seeing them, he sits through it just so ino can get a chance to talk to temari. ino looks up to temari as a role model. and temari appreciates ino who takes care of gaara and has given him a friendship he otherwise couldn't have gotten in the outside world.
inoichi likes gaara because he sees how happy his daughter is around him, but he is wary of him due to his tendency for violence and only hopes he doesn't truly hurt ino.

AUGUST, 26TH – 1985
You’ll see grieved people hover in and out of your office with a suicidal tendencies, more likely than never. You’d also have people who’ve been through wars, people who have slept with family members, confessed murderers, suicidal drug-addicts, sociopathic teenagers, depressed elderly ladies, wealthy white men, menopausal women, schizophrenics, sexually confused religious men, teenage dirtbags; the list going on and on and on and on. Your folders only stack up with every unstable being paying brain-surgeon bucks to talk about how crappy life is. Some stories you wept alongside them, some you had to give them the cold-shoulder, some you had to refuse service. All in which was based in the memo when you began working within the professionality.
However, there was this one man with mountains of issues and emotional depth, some criminal, some traumatic, some petty; but he interested you greatly. A so-called trainee pilot for the Airforce. Personal record was fresh, great skill in flying, physically active, single, citizen of Canada. However, he was referred after his team had identified slight dangers in his emotional intelligence and anger management. He was once called “a fucking pyscho” by his referral, which had caused some mishap of violence. Nonetheless, the front page had suggested he was aggressive when “provoked”.
The first session was tricky, as predicted from his difficulties on concealing emotional bondage. But as the sessions became a regular occurrence, he slowly loosened up. Only recently had he talked about his childhood. Through painful cries and many times of walking out of the office eruptively, in which he returns hours later to continue, believing you are “the only person who cares” – his words exactly when you question his behaviour.
Unconsciously, you both grew close. After a good few weeks of working along side him, Trevor had named every person in his life; mother, father, brother, past lovers, past friends, etc… He trusted you with this information, and when he spoke freely about them, his eyes would stare into yours with tensity. He self-indulged in the eye-contact. You understood that it was his way of seeing your internal reactions and thoughts. Trevor’s constantly assessing you like you are with him, and whether it was meant to happen, it fell into this hole of deep relation. He relied on you. Extremely clingy. His sessions would extend from an hour to 3 or 4. It had gotten to the point where you with drawled other patience, just so you could invite him in again. Your managers assumed he needed more focus, so they allowed. But was it about focus?
No.
It was something more personal than that. A transference. Therapist and patient romance. Forbidden touches of his hands against your thighs turned into extreme penetration in your office. From the desk to the sofa, from the floor to your bathroom. At some point, he had been everywhere with you. Trying to overcome this situation was flawed, and every-time you tried to give him this professional support, it turned into a lustful beg of his fingers and filthy tongue.
“Fuck – “ You panted when he crawled over you on the sofa-bed, his penis frantically searching for the entrance as he used his tongue to leave trails of his saliva against your jawline. Whereas the moments prior to this, he was talking about the lack of love given from his mother, and he instead admitted that the maternal need had been transferred onto you. Trevor struggled to explain his insane attraction to how “caring” you are, forgetting that it was your profession. But the way you’d reassure and rub his back – it always gave him a reason to go home and relieve that naughty arousal. And every session, he’s excited for this specific reason.
“I tried to book a session last week,” He murmured darkly as his cock injected into your pussy, “The prick downstairs told me you were busy – with what?” His voice crackled a bit at the pleasure of having your warmth surrounding his erection.
Holding onto his shoulders, you breathed out a shaky moan, his name staining the tip of your tongue. The question went ignored until you found the capacity to give him the deserved answer.
“I had training.” You could barely say.
Trevor huffed in jealousy, his hips finding a steady pace as he gripped your hips to line up the act of penetration. Despite the angry frown plastered on his face, you knew he was enjoying himself. The way his tongue curled up between his lips, the concentration dilating his pupils. You had analysed his behaviour from day 1, so it became an easy job to predict his overall mood.
“I’m more important…” He breathed softly and ushered you to wrap your legs around his hips.
“I know…”
“I fucking love how loose you are,” Trevor desperately kissed your quivering lips before breaking away to increase the speed and groaning your name. “Oh… Oh, fuck. Yes. Mmm…”
The clock was ticking and when he was occupying your cunt, eyes began to fall upon the ticks and the toks. You’ve mentioned before this that a patient was planned to arrive within the next hour, so the nerves were beginning to boil your blood. The last thing you’d want is to be caught; especially with one of your most dangerous clients who’s supposed to have “professional” support.
“Look at me.” He soon begged when noticing your lack of attention. His hands fell onto your breasts and gave them a loving squeeze, continuing the thrusting.
“I ought to…” It was hard to be vocal, so you tried a little harder, “I ought to prepare for the next – “
Trevor whimpered angrily and fucked you harder than before. His hands gripped onto your breasts, teeth grinding. He repetitively shook his head and silenced you from saying anything more.
“No, no, no!” He pled. His temper starting to spark.
You grasped his wrists, moaning out of pure bliss. This encouraged him to thrust a little faster, his shaggy mullet falling into different directions and flows. For a young pilot, he was especially rugged and quite ill-looking, but it made this more exciting. You were fucking an ill client… That was such an exciting experience, but why? The psychology was hard to work out, even for you. So his witchery could be blameful, the way his mouth casted spells on you.
“Please – “ You moaned and closed your eyes.
“Look at me!” Trevor whined again, his hands cradling your face as you both came close. He winced. The sluggish rock of his hips slapped against yours for the last time before he pulled out, cock ejaculating white fluids upon your stomach. “Oooohhh… Fuck!” Your patient ecstatically exaggerated.
You too had came. To refrain noise, it became a squeal of pure lust. When his warm semen painted your stomach, your fingers instantly rummaged through your clit, feeling how much cum he made you squirt. And with a moan, you felt him take charge of the inspection and licked up the white strands with his tongue. Trevor brushed your pussy and slurped up your taste with a puppy glimpse in his eyes. He looked at you when licking, begging to be praised.
“Fuck… Yes – “ Then the door knocked.
With quick motion, you threw on your shirt and zipped up your skirt as he groaned. Trevor wiped his mouth and gave your cheek a last kiss before throwing on a shirt and walking out. You noticed on the way out, he had gave your next client the meanest look to man-kind.
And the next week; that client had never returned.

Helia: The Thesis
Kay, so, for Helia’s thesis there won’t be that many spoilers but there will be references to a big even in s3, if you haven’t read after the Eraklyon party in s3 then you run a risk of spoilers, the spoilers will mainly revolve around the changes I made to Helia’s backstory
TRIGGER WARNING: TALK OF SELF-HARM AND ATTEMPTED SUICIDE, IF THIS TRIGGERS YOU PLEASE SKIP THIS THESIS
First Things First
The first words I have in Helia’s character sheet are:
Sensitive artist that doesn’t kick your ass cause he choses peace.
Helia was always super interesting to me in the OG cause, in the 2000’s I honestly don’t remember many soft boys being portrayed as also being able to be badass and just super cool.
I changed quite a bit of Helia’s backstory cause in the OG we just hear that he drops out of Red Fountain and goes to art school before going back to Red Fountain with zero explanation.
There is a phrase that really inspired a lot of the changes I made to Helia’s backstory and that is: No one will ever know the violence it took to become this gentle.
Over the years I’ve learned that some of the loveliest, gentlest and kindest people are the ones who’ve hated and suffered the most in the past. And that is something that I could really see Helia being.
Helia is someone who really let him anger get the best of him in the past. In my version, Helia grew up angry due to heavy expectations of his parents and being Saladin’s grandson. He’s someone who grew up with endless anger and sadness and who had no real outlet after his art was taken away to not distract him too much from his training as Specialist and Wizard.
(Here’s where the talk of self-harm and attempted suicide starts)
Helia self-harms and tries to take his own life a year before season 2. This decision was… a tad bit drastic and to be honest it wasn’t even fully planned at first but it just made sense to me with his character.
Helia is someone who, after hitting rock bottom, seeks help and slowly starts to get better. He goes back into art to let out all of his pain, he works things out with his parents and gets his life back on track.
And it’s not like he is magically completely healed, like we see in season 3, when he has a reason, his anger can and will get the better of him and it can be scary. He has relapses when things get extreme. But he continues to heal and to grow
Helia isn’t born peaceful. He learns it. He grows into peace slowly over his year at art school where he learns to meditate and to just process his emotions in a more healthy manner and I think that makes his serene and mostly peaceful personality and thought process all the more impactful.
People can tell he’s wise and I think I mention in s2 that he just erradiates this comfort, people want to be liked by Helia.
Healing Isn’t Linear
In s3, we see Helia relapse into his self-harming habits.
This to me was important for his character because, whilst he has learned better ways to cope with his feelings, relapse is a realistic thing that can happen and doesn’t mean you’re doing horribly if that makes sense. Because healing isn’t linear. Especially with everything that happens in season 3, to me it made sense for Helia to snap both in anger and in his past self-destructive tendencies.
Helia attacks Sky when the truth of his curse comes out and we see him be ashamed of it, worried he scared Flora and telling Bloom that that isn’t who he wants to be
Helia is very conscious of his own issues and how he is/wants to be perceived. He is very conscious of when he needs help even if sometimes he still needs a little push to get said help
Something to Fight For
A big part of what helps Helia truly come into his own post s2 is figuring out what he is fighting for.
Before s2 Helia was furious because he didn’t know what to fight for, he was a Specialist mostly due to being a legacy.
He returns to Red Fountain because he always enjoyed the routine of it, but also to finally figure out what he wants to fight for.
So what does Helia fight for?
Well… I’d say that, at first he fights for his friends. He is inspired by them and wants to protect them, after that, he also fights for those who can’t protect themselves, much like his grandfather.
No longer being so pressured by his parents allows him to kind of see things like his family does and he finds that he feels the same way.
Kind of reminds me of the Argent family: We protect those who cannot protect themselves. That’s the same view of the Alarie family
Thoughts Behind his Main Relationships
Riven: Riven is Helia’s best friend and they are kind of two sides of the same coin. They both have had anger issues and, surprisingly enough, Helia was a lot more violent than Riven ever was since Riven had a better hold on his anger due to facing major consequences (*cough* *cough* his dad *cough* *cough*) but they bond over trying to better themselves.
Riven learns to meditate with Helia and occasionally even paints with him. Helia learns to fix stuff with Riven and they both love the routine that comes with being Specialists second only to Brandon so they often do work-outs and bets with each other.
Their friendship is one of very different yet similar lives. They get each other in a: we’ve both come face to face with the darkest versions of ourselves and came out on top, we’ve both hit rock bottom and we’re both working on figuring out how to be better.
They’re both very aware of their darker emotions but never judge the other for it. They both have nightmares regarding their pasts and they can open up because they know that they get one another.
Flora: They’re relationship is just… ufff. I love them so much.
To me, Flora and Helia have both been through a lot and have both learned to make light of the darkness in different ways. They are both on their healing journey and support each other unconditionally.
They are soft souls that have been hit time and time again but have refused to become harsh.
Their relationship is one of complete trust and support. They know what they’ve been through but never fear being pitied or feared by the other because they’re the same in a way.
Their relationship is ‘we’re both pulling ourselves and you make me feel like all of it will never drown me and I know that my soul and yours have known each other for a very long time.’
They find comfort, understanding and safety in their love.
They know they can trust each other with the darkest parts of themselves because they won’t lose them, they are very much connected in a way that is hard to even comprehend.
Their love is a soft one
Musa: These two are platonic soulmates.
They’re the artists of the group, the ones that communicate better on a page or when speaking in prose, they’re the ones that will spill their guts out in the middle of the night with a pen in their hands
They’re the artists that make art not just because they like to but because it’s crucial to their survival and an integral part of who they are.
They both struggle a bit to be vulnerable, Musa more so than Helia, but find that they can lower their guard with each other because they get what it’s like to finally find your voice after years of bearing the stifling forced silence that comes with not being heard by your own family
They just make sense to me as unexpected platonic soulmates
Who is Helia in this Rewrite?
Helia is a young legacy who has suffered the weight of his heritage. He is someone who used to be incredibly lost and angry at the universe and turned that hatred and frustration inward and into self-destructive tendencies.
He is someone who has grown incredibly and learned peace, learned self-love and learned vulnerability. He is someone incredibly aware of who he is and who he wants to be.
He is someone who took a long time to figure out what he is fighting for, what he wants to live for and become. But, once he figured it out, he will not go back, he will forge ahead, not forgetting his past but not letting it drag him down, allowing it to be a lesson
Helia is at his core, an artist: someone incredibly caring, soft and who wants to help people, even if it isn’t as a warrior, he wants to make sure others don’t have to go through the pain that he and his friends have gone through. He is someone who will fight to protect the vulnerable.
He is someone who learned to wring sunlight out of the darkest parts of himself.
Helia is a soft soul, the warm side of a warrior.

Wille’s Anger Issues
So this last season put a lot of things back into perspective from the previous seasons. And I’d like to preface this by saying that I don’t think that Wille is unjustified in being angry in any of these circumstances but …
The first thing we ever learn about Wille is that he got into a fight at a club. This is never really elaborated on further because initially the focus is on how everyone else is allowed an opinion but Wille. So he reads a statement written for him, and the people gossip and it never really comes up again.
From the bits that we see the fight happens because someone wants to take a picture with Wille. He doesn’t want to, people take offence and start harassing him and Wille jumps to anger and violence. Boom. Club fight and Royal Scandal.
Again Wille’s anger at people feeling like they have a right to him is justified but it is notable that he jumps to physical violence pretty quickly.
Then we don’t really see anything like that from him again that season. Wille gets put in a love bubble and the things to make him angry are mellowed. Bad things happen but they make him sad rather than angry.
Then we get season 2 and Wille’s depression eases because he has a target for his justified anger - he sets about ruining August’s life. But his distress continues to manifest in aggressive outbursts (jumping on his desk and yelling at the Royal Court that he isn’t going to be King anyone? Again - justified but …)
This culminates in Wille threatening August with a gun. Which felt satisfying when I first watched it, and again Wille’s anger is justified but threatening someone with a gun, because your anger boils over? Concerning.
Then this season, where despite getting Simon back and going public Wille’s anger hasn’t gone away. It’s still there bubbling under the surface. Leading to him escalating into yelling at August at the slightest provocation during a legal meeting. Leading to him tackling and physically fighting August when all August does is talk to Simon. (Which again the anger is justified but the jump to physical violence??)
Then we get the climatic scene of episode 5. Which while extremely satisfying, to watch Wille finally say everything he’s been thinking to his cruel and neglectful parents. Again his anger is justified but again that anger turning to violence is just below the surface as he explodes into wrecking his presents, while his scared boyfriend watches on.
The issue is, all of Wille’s anger is justified.
It is normal to be angry when strangers expect something from you that you haven’t consented to do.
It is normal to be angry when your privacy and sex life is violated. And it is normal to be angry when the criminal that did it is rewarded not punished.
It is normal to be angry when your parents neglect you and manipulate you and negatively compare you to your dead golden brother (even if only by implication and especially once you learn that said brother committed homophobic sexual violence).
The real issue is that everyone around Wille except Simon is continually telling him that it’s not okay to be angry. That he needs to repress his emotions to be the prince they need him to be. Wille then represses his anger until it bursts out of him in unhealthy and violent ways.
It’s not a problem with Wille it’s a problem with Wille’s environment. But it IS Wille’s responsibility to recognise that his violent tendencies are a problem that he needs to deal with.
Wille’s violence and anger is an outgrowth of the rot of Royal life, and he isn’t going to be able to manage them healthily until he is out of there.

On Jae Won and Pran
Last night I read a couple excellent posts - this one from @emotionallychargedtowel breaking down the evolution of Jae Won’s mindset in the final two episodes of The Eighth Sense, and this one from @waitmyturtles about themes of generational trauma explored in Bad Buddy, and how his mother’s trauma, his role as the only child of the family, the expectations heaped on him by his parents to carry all their hopes and dreams, and his fear of family rejection manifested in Pran’s inability to see a future for himself with Pat and his subsequent (initial) hesitance to risk it all on a relationship with him. And this really got my wheels turning, because I’ve been thinking a lot about the similarities between Pran and Jae Won.
Like Pran, Jae Won has inherited generational trauma. We don’t know most of the details, but we do know Jae Won’s father is “aggressive” towards him and appears to lash out at him in anger. We can only assume that those family issues got even worse after his brother’s death, which he feels responsible for (and given what we know of his family, it’s a fair bet that his parents have placed blame on him, too). It is usually the case that perpetrators of family violence were themselves victims of the previous generation’s family violence, so it seems fair to assume there is multigenerational trauma in Jae Won’s family.
Also like Pran, Jae Won is now his family’s only (living) child, and feels enormous pressure to be successful (as his family defines the term) and avoid disappointing his parents. This is a big source of the paralysis he feels following his return from military enlistment, when what he wants to do is completely at odds with what he knows is expected of him. Turtles talked about how for Pran, risking alienating his parents means risking giving up the only family he has - that fear must be even more pronounced for Jae Won, who has already lost his precious brother and feels utterly alone in the world.
Pran and Jae Won are both people pleasers. Pran is the problem solver in his group of friends, the one who smooths things over and mediates conflicts. Even when he is the wronged party (coughcurtaindropcough), he goes out of his way to forgive and disregards his own needs in order to make everyone happy again. And of course, his ultimate act of people pleasing is to carry on a charade of ending things with Pat in order to assuage his guilty feelings toward his mother and keep his family intact. Jae Won simply never acknowledges conflict in the first place, choosing instead to bend to the will of those around him rather than putting up any kind of fight, and the end result is the same. He disregards his own needs and wellbeing to avoid rocking the boat.
Pran and Jae Won are also both extremely skilled at masking their true emotions and keeping people at a distance. Pran was in love and pining away for years, and absolutely no one - even his best friend - knew about it. Pran was so skilled at hiding his relationship with Pat that he probably could have kept the secret going indefinitely. It was Pat who couldn’t stand it, and ultimately they were forced to return to Pran’s tactic of pretending (and honestly, my heart breaks a little when I imagine Pran having to teach Pat how to hide himself). Similarly, Jae Won’s friends don’t actually know him. They don’t know about his brother, his mental health struggles, or his fraught relationship with his parents. They look at him and see only what he wants them to see - an unbothered chaebol sailing through life. At the core of this tendency for both Jae Won and Pran is a need to protect themselves, because they’ve already learned that they will never be fully accepted for who they are and they live constantly under threat of losing the only security they know if they reveal too much of themselves.
And finally, in matters of romance, Pran and Jae Won are similarly hesitant to allow themselves to go after what they want. Pran always believed his love for Pat would have to stay a secret tucked into a corner of his heart, and even when his feelings were finally reciprocated, he struggled to believe there was any chance he could really be allowed to be with him. After his brother’s death, Jae Won never felt he was deserving of happiness, and he surrounded himself with toxic users to ensure he wouldn’t get it. Even as he was inexorably drawn to Ji Hyun, his hesitation and doubt was clear in every moment. He was always waiting for the other shoe to drop, and as soon as it did he fell right back into resigned acceptance of the shitty relationships he felt he deserved. Both Jae Won and Pran likely would have stayed in that purgatory forever, except that they each found someone with the confidence and persistence to help them see a different way.
Which brings me to where Pran and Jae Won ultimately find release from their family trauma, guilt, and self-doubt - in Pat and Ji Hyun. For both of them, they find courage in creating a new bond that is strong enough to weather the coming storm. Pran forms a new family unit with Pat and draws strength from him when his parents inevitably reject his vision for his life. Jae Won pushes and pulls away from and returns to Ji Hyun when he is certain he can trust him to hang in through the hard parts (and we know there are many hard parts still to come). From these bonds they also both build a stronger community around them - Pran strengthening his relationships with the friends in their inner circle that know the truth about him and Pat, Jae Won finding new closeness with Yoon Won and an extended support system in Ji Hyun’s friends.
Their fear of family rejection hasn’t gone away, but they are better fortified against it. They haven’t magically cured their generational trauma, but they have found a way to live beyond it. And I just think that’s beautiful.

Raphael concept (TMNT 2012)
Ah, yes, my favorite turtle since childhood. Aged up as usual!
Yandere! 2012 Raphael Concept
Pairing: Romantic
Possible Trigger Warnings: Gender-Neutral Darling, Yandere-like behavior, Forced relationship, Toxic behavior, Stalking, Kidnapping, Murder, Violence, Possessive behavior, Implied abandonment issues, Obsessive behavior, Manipulation, Impulsive behavior, Anger issues, Mentioned sadism, Blood mention.
Tumblr media
- Out of all the 2012 turtles, Raphael is the most sadistic.
- While Leonardo is paranoid and overprotective, Donatello is obsessive and calculating, and Michelangelo is delusional and manipulative...
- Raphael likes to be more dominant and dehumanizing.
- Obsessive to the point he wants to show only he's the one for you, that he claims you as his, even if he has to break and toy with you in order to get you to see it.
- He's much more than just a hothead.
- He's also somewhat of a jealous sadist.
- "You aren't leaving that easy!"
- Raphael would be Obsessive, Sadistic, Impulsive, and Possessive. With some manipulative tendencies, too.
- He's easy to get on the bad side of and you are his weakness.
- While he does show a soft side around you, that's if you are complying to his obsession.
- If he's obsessive over you before or right after Spike/Slash leaving, he only gets worse.
- Becoming even more fearful that he could lose you any second.
- "I love you... you won't leave me!"
- Raphael will most likely hate the fact you make him feel weak at times.
- He should be fighting!
- Being a warrior and showing his enemies he's fearless!
- But here he is, weak in the knees whenever you look at him with his heart beating at extreme speeds.
- He hates it at first... until he realizes that this actually feels good in a way.
- It's just now he only wants you for himself
- To the point he stalks you when not on duty, fantasizes about you when alone, and even thinks of kidnapping you....
- Something he may actually go through with.
- Either by trying to convince you into following him to his room to knock you out...
- or by taking a much more forceful approach.
- Raphael can be very impatient.
- He doesn't want to have to wait for you.
- "Could you come with me for a sec? I thought I could show you a new move I learned."
- If he kidnaps you after the whole Slash incident, you're treated like a pet at some points.
- He sees you as his and his alone.
- Any interaction with his brothers or Casey makes him jealous and angry.
- April is sort of an exception, even then if you talk too long he'll start to think you're ratting him out.
- He's always nearby, too.
- You can never get a word out without Raph showing up to 'check-in'
- "Hey~ May I ask what you're talking about, babe?"
- The reason he's so aggressive with your abduction and you talking with others is because he's such an impulsive Yandere.
- Impatient and impulsive do not mix well with Raph.
- He feels he can take what he wants, if he feels guilt he doesn't show it.
- Instead he prefers to sadistically bend you to his will like you're another toy to play with.
- Yet Raphael isn't heartless, he may be similar to Fishface in Yandere type but he does genuinely care about you.
- Raphael will show a softer and more vulnerable side around you at times.
- Often just wanting to hold you close and softly instead of being all jealous and aggressive.
- Such a side may be a little more intense if he still misses Slash, too.
- Holding you just a bit tighter while he nuzzles himself into your shoulder.
- "You make me so beastly when I don't have you... can't you see you're mine?"
- Raphael is certainly not against heavily injuring or killing someone to keep you.
- You make him an absolute monster when it comes to his obsession.
- He's willing to do anything to keep you beside him.
- He may even be scared he'll lose you....
- He feels horrible if he has to tie you up somewhere, or breaking your mind to get you to love him.
- Perhaps even making you bleed a little...
- But something deep down within him tells him to keep going....
- So he listens.
- He listens because he can only think of you.
- Raphael feels he should keep you all to himself
- No matter how much heartbreak is caused by it.
- "I'm the best for you! Stop being so scared of me!"

Thinking about that post talking about how Stampede Vash is like, not nearly as angry as 98 Vash, and I have to wonder if part of it isn’t because Stampede is a prequel? Like tbh I have no idea, but I’d love it if July was the catalyst for him to be angrier in s2 (if we ever get one)
It's entirely possible! In the manga, (SPOILERS) when Vash finds out about Tesla, he starves himself, then tries to kill himself, and finally attacks Rem when she stops him from killing himself. So he was capable of anger and violence even as a child, though that was obviously an extreme situation.
The angriest we see him is at Knives, specifically for the July event though. It is interesting though, that his anger is at least in part because he feels like Knives used him to kill so many people. He's actually kind of in a similar situation in Stampede already, because Knives had him play a more active role in the Big Fall. But it would be so cool if season one ends with the July incident, and when we see Vash in season two he's more like his older counterparts. I really hope we get a season two. Even if they stick with the more passive characterization of Vash though, I don't think it's a bad thing. Just different from the manga. I think it was mentioned in the post going around about his anger, but Vash's duality was what made him interesting in the original. For Stampede!Vash, I feel like it's less about duality and more about the crippling effects of self hate. Vash in the manga had suicidal tendencies and self hate issues too, but he always kept moving. He has a very human struggle with anger that's missing in Stampede, but I feel like he's missing the human struggle with self hate in the original manga. Speaking as someone with depression, it's hard to stay functional when you hate yourself. And we see that in the manga with how he disregards his own safety for sure, but...... idk. In the manga, Vash is very competent. He works hard to compensate for the difficulty his moral code creates. In Stampede, he's doing stupid things like not eating even though that will only make him weaker when he plans to confront Knives or anyone else who gets in the way. He makes clearly impossible promises. In both stories, his self hate and shame at being complicit in the Big Fall (in different ways) makes him desperately cling to pacifism, but in Stampede we see him compulsively do things out of self hate/shame in a way we don't see in the manga, I don't think. He's a little less in control of himself. He's a little less functionally depressed. Any time a character is characterized differently in a remake, I can't help but be like, that's not my baby boy!! or whatever lol, but I really do think Stampede!Vash is interesting and a compelling character. Just not in the same way that manga!Vash was, at least right now.

My OCs: Ed
Tumblr media
bit of info on my fucked up trash cat
Name Edrick Ishida 石田 エドリック AKA: Ed, Edo, Cat, Tiger
Species Nekomata/Werecat (Nekomata mother, werecat father. Werecat virus passed at conception.)
DOB May 3 1850 (173 years old)
Gender Cis Male (Sometimes fem presenting)
Orientation Bisexual, Homoromantic, Polyamorous
Ethnicity Japanese/Dutch
Height/Weight 5'6"/140lbs (Petite, often malnourished)
Analysis Edrick presents extreme anger issues and is immediately hostile. He is generally in poor physical condition, being malnourished and often injured. His mood is unstable, but he is coherent and very aware of time and place. Edrick shows several signs of severe and chronic emotional trauma that has been left untreated since childhood. He is very uncooperative. Symptoms point to the following:
PTSD
Bipolar I disorder with mixed affective state
Paranoia
Antisocial disorder
Avoidant personality disorder
Major depression with suicidal tendencies
Insomnia
Kleptomania
Sexual masochism
Hypersexuality
Several illegal drug addictions
Edrick struggles to maintain relationships at all levels. He purposely closes himself off and avoids giving or asking for more than basic information about a person. Due to extreme emotional distress as a child, he has developed a defense mechanism through rude and lewd behavior. He defaults to anger and violence and is often too impatient to handle most social situations. True intimacy is avoided, but he practices prostitution for physical intimacy and pain. Edrick does not value himself highly, if at all, and treats himself accordingly despite being capable of doing more and better for himself. He has spent the majority of his life homeless and without any true stability, making a living via prostitution and theft. He is highly intelligent and talented but carefully conceals that knowledge, sometimes even from himself.
Within the past 3 years, Edrick has made significant progress in healing and recovering from many past traumas, but at the same time has unfortunately gained new ones. His social skills have improved impressively, complete with a small but close circle of friends. He is also engaged to be married to a man named Cole, though the relationship is highly unorthodox and questionable. One would not label it a healthy relationship by any normal standards - but they are also not normal people. Though toxic on many levels, it works for them and the deep love and bond Edrick and his affianced have is abundantly clear. Unfortunately, after a very traumatic brush with death, and prolonged threats to his and Cole's safety, Edrick's PTSD is worse than it ever has been. He is in severe and urgent need of professional help.
Manifestations
Tumblr media
Glamoured Can pass as human entirely - default when in public.
Tumblr media
Natural No glamour. Cat ears, tail, sharper/longer incisors, and claw-like nails. (All can vary in appearance depending on circumstances. isn't always convenient to have claws, for example.) Most common in private. Can develop fur along spine, face, and other parts of the body if nearing a shift into werecat form.
Tumblr media
Cat Simple domestic housecat, larger than average (about the size of a small savannah cat). Smoke black oriental longhair. Can change into it at will and easily. Some extremely limited verbal speech is capable, restricted only to the sounds a feline is able to make. Fully capable of non-verbal animal/feral speech.
Tumblr media
Werecat Triggered by extreme anger. Very ‘wolfman’ like appearance. No conscious control, retains no memory. Highly aggressive.
Tumblr media
Nekomata (mutated) Form is misshapen and mutated from werecat virus. Hulking beast. Painful to remain in. Extremely powerful both physically and magically. Necromancy and fire are primary magic. Severe emotional distress, total mental breakdown, or imminent threat to life currently the only way it can be accessed.
Species Traits & Quirks Nekomata don't gain their full powers until at least 1000 years of age, Ed is still very young and thus most of his abilities are unimpressive.
Once at 1000, aging ceases. He will not die from any natural causes of the body. Only beheading or removal of the heart will kill. Until then, while he may age very slowly, he is still susceptible to dying from pretty much anything, although he can endure much more than the average human.
Nekomata start with 9 lives. Lives increase exponentially at 1000 years. Ed has somewhere between 6-8 currently.
Nekomata abilities include, but not limited to: Dreamwalking Necromancy Controlling fire Life force absorption Unrestricted shapeshifting Spell casting Cursing Superhuman senses, speed, and strength Enhanced nightvision
While not a true hybrid, Ed does have certain traits and minor abilities passed along from the werecat DNA of his father.
During sex, a scent may be released from the base of his neck that is directly linked to the hormone Oxytocin. The more released, the stronger the scent. This, sometimes called the "love hormone", is commonly released during intercourse in mammalian females, but far less in males who instead get a surge of Dopamine, the addictive pleasure hormone. In Werecat males, it is a biological signal of being bonded with his mate. Like the typical intact domestic tomcat, Werecat toms have an extremely high libido and will mate often with many different individuals. Bonded pairs will often, but not always, become monogamous (or polygamous if more than two are bonded) and forgo mating with others. It is rare for such bonding to happen, as they are a relatively solitary and shy species. This scent is often subtle even when at its strongest, much like a perfume still lingering on clothes several days later. It is described as musky with a deep, warm, indolic sweetness like vanilla. At its most potent it is deeply euphoric and even narcotic.
Accelerated healing factor - physical wounds heal about three times as fast as humans, what few illnesses he can contract are weak and run their course within a couple of days.
Allergies to silver, malachite, and garlic.
Writings Year of the Cat Series Cocaine Kaleidoscope (WIP) Winter's Faded Light (Complete) The Truth About Yesterday (WIP) (Been on a long writing hiatus to heal a bad case of tendonitis booo)

Till The World Ends review
This review is basically just for @absolutebl, who should not watch this.
This series operates on post-apocalyptic B movie logic, with strong currents of dark humor and political satire. This definitely undercut my ability to take seriously the more tragic and romantic moments, of which there were many since this was still a BL. Well, that and its inexplicable tendency to use Christmas carols as background music. I enjoyed it, it wasn’t bad, but whatever it was a good example of is such an odd duck I don’t think it would be to most people’s taste. Definitely content warnings for the kind of violence, gore and general nonsense a post-apocalyptic B movie normally contains.
Full spoilers from hereon in:
The premise is that the moon is about to hit the earth and the whole story takes place within 13 days. Everyone is supposed to be evacuating into bunkers, as if that’s going to help somehow. (Every time the moon hitting the earth was mentioned I had to laugh and yell at my own brain to stop trying to apply logic to this show.) Golf has major anger issues so he ends up knocking out Art with his guitar when he thinks his new girlfriend is cheating on him with Art. Golf's ex takes his phone with the QR code or whatever you need for the bunker and he stays behind to care for Art and also because he wants to wait for his brother, who is in prison for political crimes and therefore won’t be allowed in the bunker. Art wakes up with amnesia.
There’s a second couple who are the leader of a gang of psychopathic cannibals and his leather eye patch wearing subordinate. The leader’s sister dresses like a sexy schoolgirl. I am obsessed with them. It’s been like two days since everyone went to the bunker, how did this murder spree even get started? They are the high heat couple and get a particularly tragic and gruesome end, but tbf they were the villains.
Somehow Golf and Art manage to get together in typical BL fashion even after Art learns the truth but yes, the world literally does end at the end, it said so on the tin, the moon absolutely hits the earth and destroys everything and Golf and Art did not make it to a bunker, not that that would have mattered. The moon hit the earth, I cannot emphasize this enough.
Some events:
Golf serenades Art with the same guitar he knocked him out with earlier. It is very obviously duct-taped together. (P’ABL I feel like this is your ultimate nightmare scenario.)
The fact that extremely cliche post-apocalytic gang are cannibals is just casually dropped as they eat dinner together and one of them finds the earring of the lady they just murdered.
Art wears a shirt that says ‘nothing lasts forever’ to his own wedding.
Golf and Art don’t manage to get around to kissing each other until significantly after said wedding.
The scene once they finally get together is pretty good though.
Many people are violently killed and also one dog.
Chekov’s nail clippers come into play not once but twice.
There’s a road trip portion with gorgeous cinematography. Often shots feature the Giant Moon, which is very pretty but also to me hilarious.
Golf and Art make love for the last time on a rooftop under the Giant Looming Moon.
There are many many cgi fireflies throughout.

Is Geoff Johns’ Aquaman the best run on the character, in your opinion?
no... no it is not.... aldhgladhg
i mean standard disclaimer that this is just my opinion
geoff john's isn't like,, the Worst writer but he does have chronic refusal to care about any of the previous runs or characterizations. honestly, his portrayal of aquaman isn't awful (atlantis not fully trusting him, losing his friends, his obsession with orm and black manta, feeling like a sham, etc) and it's definitely not my Least favorite aquaman run! but there are absolutely some issues with it too like arthur's entire arc being reduced to man angst and the dumbing down of atlantis lore and politics. and yknow, arthur is an angsty guy, he's prone to anger issues, he's not above revenge and violence, but this run took it to an extreme and only for Extreme Male Angst instead of like,, actual characterization.
i haven't read all of geoff john's work but i know he has a tendency to write his hereos as Very Flawed. he really likes to explore darker themes and the mental and emotional angst that comes from being a hero. unfortunately, his portrayal of arthur just ended up feeling really flat for me. it didn't feel like an "accurate" portrayal of hero angst and loss (which has been shown spectacularly with arthur before), it felt like him just putting arthur through the angst wringer for the hell of it. it's like he's incapable of writing heroes without making them miserable.
something that makes arthur really interesting for me is that even when he's at his worst mentally, there's still a hint of his old, happy, carefree self. and like,, i get the appeal of completely getting rid of that, but personally, i think a huge part of arthur's characterization is that it's always there, no matter what he's going through. he's Not the most hopeful, naive, or confident character, but he knows what it's like to be happy and he always carries that with him. geoff john's aquaman really just felt like an attempt to,,, break arthur basically. and personally, i just don't think it was the Best attempt.
listenlistenlisten it's not the worst aquaman run but it's definitely not the best either. not to mention, a lot of my least favorite current arthur tropes come from writers only knowing geoff john's aquaman.

i made a fake aita post for the immortal primeboys animal crossing joke help
AITA for helping my little brother with his Animal Crossing island?
Okay, so I (21M) have this little brother T (16M) and I adore him beyond anything else in the world. We're immortal and have been for centuries at least (I used our ages at the time we became immortal for simplicities sake), and he’s been the one constant in my life, and I the one constant in his.
Now, T's a good kid, but he's also… troubled. He's got issues with false memories, and this really elaborate story in his head where I did the harm his prior family did to him. He's often uncontrollably emotional, or entirely emotionless. Sometimes he has periods of extreme anger and violence, or being entirely comatose, and at the worst times these can last weeks.
I don’t blame him, of course. He came from a traumatic background before I took him in, and that’s something he cannot help. It’s heartbreaking to see, honestly, and if I could take the pain onto myself I could, but I try my best to help. He needs a lot of structure, and a lot of love and support, and I adore giving both to him. It makes me so honoured I’m the one he relies on.
Now, T's picked up a lot of hobbies over the years to keep himself busy. Safe ones, where he doesn’t have to interact with other people or anything haha, he’s got really bad social anxiety and if I’m gonna be honest I don’t really trust others to understand and empathise with him like I do, people used to find him annoying and treat him cruelly before I took him in. He enjoys gardening, sewing, cooking, cleaning, lots of things, really! He's such a clever kid- a genius, I’d say, honestly, even if he’s a bit silly compared to me.
One of his favourite, though, is Animal Crossing. It’s been something he’s used as a coping mechanism in the dark times even before I was able to save him, and sometimes he'll spend days at a time just… walking around his villages. Of course, I've made sure to get every game in the series just for him, and of course he’s very grateful.
Now, I like to watch him play- any time spent apart from him is excruciating agony in general, and I think it’s adorable seeing what he does in a game with so much freedom. He names all his towns BIG MAN!! for one, which I think is the funniest thing ever, he’s so entertaining. I would be so bored without him.
A few days ago, I saw him playing New Horizons, and I noticed how much of a cluttered mess his island was. It was so unoptimally designed, with wayyyyyyy too much flowers everywhere and everything in annoying, hard to reach spots, and it was a patchwork mess of conflicting, chaotic styles. I felt really bad- my brother deserves a pretty, easy to play island, doesn’t he? So, of course, I offered to help clean it up!
Now, and I don’t know why this is, T defied me. He said his island was fine as it was- when it clearly wasn’t- and he didn't want my help. Obviously, this frustrated me, so I told him off, and gave him a little tap to remind him of his place (not even hard enough to bruise!!!), and he came around, and so I presumed this was just another one of his episodes.
I spent days with him, making his island the most beautiful but most fun island even possible to make in New Horizons, and I made sure to keep as much stuff from his previous island as I could, and made everything new something I knew he’d loved, and I even made a little portrait of me and him to hang in his house which was his favourite thing! He seemed so happy with the whole thing, so I was sure I did something good.
But over the past few days, I’ve noticed T has been trying to avoid me when doing his hobbies now. Previously, he'd love to sew or play video games in the room with me, and we'd chat for hours or even days without a break, but now he tries to hide in our room whenever he does anything.
Being the loving and understanding big brother I am, instead of immediately punishing him for his avoidant tendencies I asked him what’s wrong, and he said he was scared he wouldn’t be able to get a choice in what he made anymore, and I’d make decision for him. Now, I don’t understand the issue there- I’m clearly far better at making decisions than T, he's a mentally I’ll child while I am a stable adult who wants what’s best for him- but I really don’t want to spend a second without him in my life, and I’m willing to consider maybe we're both in the wrong here. So, AITA?

@duelbooks asked:
Anon question! (You can ofc answer over discord instead if you're not comfortable posting here <3 ;v;)
Does THE SHE<3 have any opinions of the main cast who's at school? Does she know about Shark's bullying? Yuma's tendency to do crazy challenges at school? Or anything on his friend group?
Tumblr media
I’m glad you asked, Blue! And honored you wanna know more about the she 💕💞
Let’s go down the line of who I immediately remember bc I basically just woke up:
Yuma
Drawn initially to him by the presence of something else. Something she recognizes as the presence of the dead that turns out to be an alien which she did NOT sign up for. After hearing from her “sources” that he has numbers, duel her or she’s kicking his ass behind a dumpster in a Denny’s parking lot. Initially very offput and rude by his overly kind demeanor and attempts to understand her, she’s just as much of an asshole to him as literally everyone else he’s ever met. Especially once she finds out he’s basically doing the same thing she is: hunting numbers.
Yuma’s challenges are basically common knowledge at school from the looks of things: so even as a new student in the middle of the year she’d probably get caught up on it. And not initially believing it, she’d issue him some pretty crazy challenges. And then they’d get mean.
After the inevitable redemption arc, anyone who talks shit about him is getting bodied. Nobody talks crap about her friends and walks away unscathed.
Astral
Since her ability is speaking to the dead (so she’s been told), she initially just immediately assumed Astral fell in that category. Very respectful toward him while under this impression since, well, angry spirits are the last things you want to anger. Utterly floored to find out that no, actually, he’s perfectly alive and actually an alien. Her entire worldview is thrown out the window. It’s the gateway to finding out more about what power she actually has and where it came from. The catalyst to accepting Yuma and their friends as her own.
Probably would like him the most out of the group since he reminds her so much of her older brother, who’s basically her entire world.
Tori
Initially indifferent to her (as she is to the rest of the friend group because she has one (1) concern and it isn’t any of them), she’d grow to tolerate them more as time went on, with a general preference for Tori since girls supporting girls and all that.
Shark
Shark’s bullying also seems to be common knowledge, and she wouldn’t particularly care about it unless he tried it with her, to which she’d challenge him to a fistfight. She settles dispute with fists, not silly little card games. By mid series where he and Yuma are particularly close, Sera bullying Yuma probably wouldn’t go over well with him, so rivalry arc woo!
Sera’s tendency to be extremely aggressive probably would get her labeled as a mean girl / bully since she doesn’t know how else to handle her rough home life. Violence is her understanding of how to settle disputes.
Maybe after their redemption arc they bond more and get to be close friends.
Kaito
Fellow number hunter? You gotta go, bro. Immediate rivalry. Second biggest threat to her, second only to Yuma. To hell with whatever reason he wants them, probably something utterly selfish like literally everyone else. Which will immediately change her opinion when she finds out what he’s actually collecting numbers for.
She understands wanting to do what’s right for your family by any means possible. Immensely empathetic to his plight. It’s one of the biggest reasons she’s number hunting, too. The rivalry would be less intense, but she isn’t giving him what she has. It’s imperative that she doesn’t give them up.
Her life depends on it.

My Thoughts on Chase x Leo
Well I figure I should make this post eventually and Blurry just started playing on my playlists so I figured now’s a good time. Spoilers below! Leo is extremely obsessive and has violent tendencies. He isn’t a good person to date. The only times he comes even remotely close to snapping out of this is in Jenna’s and his route. He still should never date Chase again. Even with the Hum and paranormal stuff making his negative emotions worse, by his own words, it still originated for him. I still empathize and sympathize with him. Hearing him say he cried every day for almost two years straight BROKE him and me, specifically after having to leave him.
This experience combined with the hysteria finally made him realize. He knows he shouldn’t even talk to Chase (for both of their sakes). Him confronting and banishing his Tulpa finally made him realize that shit was fucked and even if he has feelings he knows it’s to late and there’s to much baggage in his own head. His own credits theme even says while he wants to redo it he knows he cant and while it still hurts, it’s not going to change. On to Chase. Now, we learn in Tj’s and Flynn’s route that Chase definitely isn’t all positive vibes. But even fairly attributing his actions IN Echo (the town) to the big bad, I do believe three of the four worse things he ever did, was outside of echo, and thus outside of the big bad’s influence (supported in Jenna’s route whilst in Payton at the diner). Going through with the cheating prank, and then telling Leo his plans right after, specifically to hurt Leo, was done in Payton during his school lunch break. And honestly, the most fucked up thing at all, that IMO, when factored in with the paranormal, gives Leo SO MUCH SLACK (except for the events on his route and the violence) is that Chase would always thirst text him. Constantly, the whole time at Pueblo.
Leo acting touchy and feely at the motel, and thinking he should win Chase a prize to be his man at the amusement park makes complete sense because CHASE TOLD HIM HE WANTS THAT STILL. Him grouping and touching Chase at the mall in Jenna’s route is because Chase said that’s what he wants. Chase never let go, he fueled his fire with his own baggage, and Leo being ~such~ a mess is as much Chase’s fault as it is Leo’s. It’s not even a ‘victim’ blaming situation. Chase isn’t a victim of any domestic abuse, their only one grade year apart in age so that’s definitely not a ‘problematic’ issue, and Chase dealt as much bullshit as Leo did while together, and WAY WAY more when apart it turned out. In Leo’s route, I think he realized this. It’s why he didn’t want to give Chase his new number. He didn’t need Chase texting him, asking to play around again every time him and Kudzu have a single argument or every time Chase would drink. Leo needed to be broken, Chase was broken, and they both know their actions led to everything being broken.
Leo’s worst act mirrors Chase’s, and even then Chase did more truly messed up stuff. In the short, patreon exclusive story, when Leo break’s Chase’s phone (his second worse act IMO) it’s revealed that Leo thought he had his own phone in his hands. He was lashing out in anger but not intentionally to break Chase’s things.
Now... on to why I still ‘ship’ them and why it’s my PFP. It’s because it’s messed up crazy. Them both being complete bastards is so real and raw. Young gay kids do some stupid shit and so much drama and grief is displayed in their relationship. It’s doomed fate, a tragedy unfolding across timelines. They’re both carnal in their desires, they’re both romantic in their desires. It’s like a horror show, like watching two trains collide into each other at full speed. Fascinating and grotesque. When you pull away the supernatural it’s still ugly.
When trying to look at the past, it’s beautiful, a fairy tale scenario. Your childhood friend likes you, the same way you like him. It’s so scary and wrong to them to be who they are, and they find the perfect comfort and empowerment and safety in each other. But echo is a series of tragedies. This one is as ugly and horrid as the rest, but what ‘could have been’ or Who “We” Used to Be is such a compelling narrative, that celebrating the positive and showcasing the negative is something I cant help but do

A thing about Kaminari's good nature
I know Kaminari is most likely not the traitor and not a cold-blooded villain but can we like.
Have him snap one or two more times?
The way he snapped at Shishikura during the provisional license exam.
Give me angry Kaminari. Give me Kaminari scaring his opponents to hell by dropping the smug sarcastic attitude. Give me that oh shit that boy is actually dangerous as fuck thank GOD he's not a villain moment.
It's already been established that his quirk is trouble to deal with, by both heroes and villains. He's been one of the key players during the Liberation War. And frankly, just think how fucking scary this boy would be in a fight if he wasn't goofing around all the time. Think Midoriya vs Overhaul.
His character makes me think of a certain saying:
If you're a pacifist incapable of violence, you're not peaceful, you're harmless.
Give me Kaminari knowing shit well what he could do with his quirk but actively choosing not to. The looks he throws Shishikura? Boiiiiiii. ⬇️
Tumblr media
[Edit] I don't know why I didn't notice this before but the way he literally doesn't defend himself against Shishikuras insults? He's mad he's saying all these things about Bakugo and Kirishima. "I'm not talking about me." Okay. Hell. Maybe that's cause he doesn't see himself as a proper hero? Because he feels he doesn't have the right to deny Shishikuras accusations?
This is his reaction to: "Even in this form your friends are well capable of feeling pain. Your electricity will still hurt them, Kaminari Denki." ⬇️
Tumblr media
Which obviously hits a nerve. It's practically the setup line and scene for his new sharpshooting gear. Most of his developement as a hero is centered around him figuring out ways to fight without hurting his friends. I'd love to see if maybe there was an event in his past or a circumstance that made it important to him, apart from the impracticality of hurting your own allies.
I know in context of this scene, Kaminari's pissed because Shishikura keeps dragging Bakugo and Kirishima and everyone else through the mud. Which is a fairly natural reaction. But consider:
Maybe the reason he looks so angry in reaction to this specific line is because the simple nature of his quirk hurting the people around him is his wound point. Or maybe it's because he's willingly used his quirk in a bad way in the past and is trying to better himself. We have seen him casually tossing around 1.3 million volt in training fights against students in the past, but he hasn't used that in a long time.
In canon he probably does not have the urge to fry someone or kill with his quirk. The opposite. He's a good noodle, Horikoshi has never implied that he had anger issues or villainous tendencies in the past. Every time he chooses to not use his quirk, the focus lies specifically on him genuinely not wanting to hurt his friends. Or, like with Shishikura, he's defending them. He's harmless so to say.
But I love the idea of him being peaceful. The idea of him going through anger management as a kid to get his quirk under control. That he keeps up that goofy positive attitude because he actively wants to be a good person, but if he chose to could and would absolutely fry a bitch. Which again, we have seen him do. See the Sports Festival arc.
I'm trying to see this in slack context of the split-personality theory. Like electricity has a positive and negative side, Kaminari might have a dark side he's trying to conceal. Not to the extreme of a personality disorder, but the fact that if he's angry, he's scary.
The thing is, most of the time we see him yelling or angry or frustrated, it's in a funny context. Comic relief. The only time we've ever seen him seriously mad is during the license exam.
I honestly think Kaminari is one of the most realistic and fleshed out characters in the whole series. He feels super human, because he contradicts himself in lots of ways, because he has flaws and gray zones in his behavior and morals, because his emotional reactions to all the shit getting thrown at the students are absolutely relatable. And at the same time he doesn't exactly lean towards one extreme of an archetype as we often see in anime characters.
So adding another layer to that by breaking through his fundamentally good nature and maybe showing how it came to be would absolutely fuck.
Also just.
Goofy characters snapping. Please.
