It’s not that I don’t like Drizzt, but I am a little baffled that that guy gets to have fuck-off a zillion books written about him, and characters more interesting (Lirael Baenre) or at least as interesting (Galeron Nihmedu, Vala Thorsdotter, etc) as him barely get three books.

I mean, I get that my tastes aren’t exactly always widepread but what on earth makes this guy that bloody popular?

Is it really just the Gary Stu of it all?

Also, for the record, I loved Drow well before I ever picked up a Drizzt book.

I do love that apparently Starlight Enclave and Glacier’s Edge don’t even have the Forgotten Realms logo on them and the D&D logo at the bottom is tiny.

Like, this isn’t it, but It makes me feel like someone at WotC is ashamed to be associated with this.
