The MacBook Air now Comes in an All-new M3 Model
Tumblr media
After a ton of of rumors and predictions, it looks like Apple was planning an actual product release for the first week of March, although it’s not exactly what some people might have been expecting - with that being said, the Cupertino tech giant announced (sans big event) the debut of its newest MacBook Air models, which now come equipped with the M3 chip, one of Apple’s most powerful computer processors to date. As such, Apple also offers the M3 MacBook Air in two variants, with a more compact 13-inch display model, and a larger 15-inch variant for users who’d like a bit more screen real estate. Aside from upgrades in processing power though, what can we expect with the new MacBook models? Display and External Design Despite coming in two different screen sizes, Apple states that both models come with the same specs in terms of display hardware. The M3 Air features Apple’s trademarked Liquid Retina Display with up to 500 nits of brightness, encased in aluminium shells which come in several colour variants including midnight, starlight, silver and space grey. For physical connectivity, the M3 Air packs MagSafe charging and two USB-C ports for connecting accessories, along with a 3.5mm headphone jack. Interestingly, there’s now added support for two external displays (with the laptop closed), although it does retain a lot of the usual hardware components that Apple includes with its laptops, such as a Touch ID button, FaceTime camera, and spatial audio support. Performance with M3 Apple M-series chips have always been some of the most impressive processors in the industry, and the company boasts that the new MacBook Air comes with significant strides in overall performance. Apple says that this is due to the M3’s 3nm structure, which packs an 8-core CPU, up to a 10-core GPU, and support for up to 24GB of unified memory. Interestingly though, Apple’s promotional product listing compares the M3’s performance to that of the M1 from a few years ago, instead of the more recent M2-family processors. The M3 Air also comes with a 16-core Neural Engine, which Apple says is an ideal setup for AI-integrated tasks, including support for AI models, large language models (LLMs) and diffusion models for image generation locally with great performance. For software, the M3 Air ships with macOS Sonoma, which is the current iteration of Apple’s desktop operating system. Of course, this means that you get all the core Apple desktop programs, as well as apps that are designed to sync with the rest of Apple’s extensive hardware ecosystem, including iPhones, iPads, and Watches. Pricing and Availability If you’re interested in grabbing the new MacBook Air M3, you can order Apple’s latest laptop starting Monday, March 4 via Apple’s online store as well as its physical retail stores, authorized resellers and such. The 13-inch MacBook Air with M3 starts at £1,099 and £999 for education, while the 15‑inch model starts at a slightly more expensive £1,299 price tag, and £1,199 for education. As mentioned earlier, both models are available in midnight, starlight, silver, and space grey. The MacBook Air M3 starts shipping on March 8. Read the full article

Sneak Peek: M3, M3 Pro, M3 Max Specs Just in Time for Apple
Tumblr media
Detailed M3 Max Specs
During its “Scary Fast” event tomorrow, Apple anticipates announcing a family of Macs that will feature three new M3 computers with CPUs that are ostensibly mass-produced utilizing the same modern facilities 3nm technological advances as the A17 Pro. Let’s dive in right into the truths. The M3 is available right now, and it will be followed by the M3 Pro which is more powerful and the M3 Max. Soon after the event, some of their technical specifications, like the total amount of Central Processing Units and Graphics Processing Units were released and accessible to the public.
The M2 and Base M3 will utilize the same 8-core CPU fashion, nevertheless the M3 Pro and M3 Max will include additional cores.
In the most recent edition of his “Power On” newsletter, Mark Gurman of Bloomberg forecasts that the M3 Pro and M3 Max will be launched in addition to the M3. If everything about this debut is true, it will be a huge deal, especially because Apple’s response speed was demonstrated with the January launch of the M2 Pro and M2 Max.
The M3 may include an 8-core CPU (four performance cores and four power-efficiency cores) and a 10-core GPU like the M2. The new SoC is projected to boost core performance and support more unified RAM, thus it will operate differently. In case the M3 is a bad investment, let’s examine the M3 Pro.
M3 Series Specs
A 12-core CPU with six efficiency and six performance cores makes up one of them. An 18-core GPU is the next in line. After tomorrow’s announcement, customers might be able to equip their favorite portable Mac with an M3 Pro, which has a maximum of 14 CPU cores and 20 GPU cores. Be prepared to spend extra for this specific model, as this silicon is likely to be found in the more costly MacBook Pro versions.
Not to be disregarded is the M3 Max, which is said to have been tested in a number of settings much like the M3 Pro. A 16-core CPU (12 performance and 4 efficiency cores) and a 32-core GPU are included in these configurations. Gurman claims that Apple is working on a version with a 40-core GPU, which will push graphics performance for these expensive MacBook Pro models to the next level. However, this specific chip will also significantly raise the overall cost.
Apple is moving forward with these processor launches, in part, because an analyst thinks that the M2 Macs’ lackluster sales were caused by the M1’s superior performance and longer battery life. It is possible that the M3 and the more expensive alternatives could attract prospective customers and boost Mac sales, which will help the company’s next earnings call show better results.

7 Things to Know Before Buying a MacBook
Tumblr media
If you’re planning to buy a laptop, the chances are you end up picking a MacBook. All Apple products come with an intuitive operating system and sleek design, and the MacBook is one of them. Hardware configuration is another aspect that will grab your attention.  Before you buy the MacBook, there are several things that you should know to make an informed purchase. Learning about the educational discounts and processing power available on different variants will help you pick the specs that are right for you.  Let’s discuss what you need to know about MacBooks before buying them.  Processor In 2020, Apple launched the Silicon chip and moved away from Intel processors. These chips are more power-efficient and include unified memory and better security. The never-seen-before chip-enabled all Apple devices to share a common architecture.  Due to the common architecture, developers are now able to optimize their apps more easily. Older Intel-based Macs have their own benefits, as they allow you to install Windows with Boot Camp, Silicon MacBooks are simply efficient, so opt for the latter one. Ports & Connections  When working on MacBooks, you will need to connect multiple peripherals to keep the work going. Both MacBook M1 and M2 come with only two Thunderbolt-enabled USB-C ports and an audio jack. In that case, you may turn on AirDrop on Mac to share files wirelessly.  MacBook Pro, both 14-inch and 16-inch, gives you multiple connectivity options that include three USB-C ports with Thunderbolt 4, an SD card slot, an HDMI port, and a MagSafe port for charging. Identify what ports you need and pick a MacBook that fits your needs.  Display Size and Resolution  When buying a MacBook, the display and quality or resolution should be the top concern. Most MacBook models in the current lineup feature a Retina display; some variants are better than their counterparts, so dive through the details before buying one.  For example, the 16-inch and 14-inch models feature a ProMotion display that supports a refresh rate of up to 120Hz. If you are a graphic designer, a photographer, or someone who is concerned about color reproduction, the mini-LED panels will impress you.  RAM and Storage Your MacBook’s memory and storage specifications describe its performance after the processor you select. When it comes to processors, you would want to buy the best option that can give you the highest performance within your budget.  M1 MacBook base models come with 8 GB memory and 256 GB storage, appropriate for users who don’t require working with intensive apps. Depending on the budget, you can opt for 16 GB RAM if you’re a video editor, developer, animator, or filmmaker.  New or Used  Most users spend considerable amounts of time thinking about whether they should buy a new Mac or get a used one. However, the decision should be pretty simple. If your budget allows you to buy a new MacBook, avoid buying a used laptop.  Now only a new MacBook is less prone to security issues, but it gives you a one-year warranty that covers most hardware and software-related issues. AppleCare+ Warranty gives you peace of mind that you won’t spend anything out of your pocket if any problem pops up.  AppleCare + Subscription On buying a new MacBook, you get a 1-year AppleCare warranty which you can extend for as long as three years. Buying AppleCare Plus can be expensive as you need to pay more money upfront, and it can be difficult to handle the repair costs later.  MacBooks usually perform excellently and are not likely to display any hardware or software errors. However, repairing a damaged Mac can be too expensive to deal with. So, make sure to buy extended AppleCare Plus plans as per your budget.  Education Discounts If you are a college student, you can save money with Apple’s Education Pricing plans on purchasing a new MacBook or other Apple products. The special education discount is available exclusively for university students and staff.  With this discount offer, students can save $100 on MacBook Air M1 and M2. Student discounts are available on iPads too. So if you are a student, don’t forget to carry your university ID to the store when buying a MacBook.  The Conclusion  When you are planning to buy a MacBook, wait for seasonal offers and discounts to bag the right deal. Apple Silicon MacBooks give you the best performance ever, and each model comes with an excellent resolution display. With a little more budget, you can buy a MacBook Pro. Since these devices are designed with professional tasks in mind, they deliver performance par excellence. Regardless of the MacBook model you purchase, don’t forget to power it with AppleCare Plus plans.  So, keep these things in mind when you are in the market to purchase a MacBook. Keep your budget in mind when selecting your new laptop, and try not to exceed the limit. Read the full article

Apple to Start Producing Its Headset in Large Quantities in March.
It has been rumoured that Apple intends to begin mass manufacturing of its AR (augmented reality) and MR (mixed reality) headsets in March of 2019.
Media claims that Apple is “pushing ahead on development” of its MR headset, with Pegatron serving as the company’s only partner in terms of final assembly. The headset is expected to go into mass production in March 2023 and be introduced the following year.
It is speculated that the tech giant’s first headgear would be available to just a select group of business clients due to its prohibitively high initial price point and restricted supply.
Tumblr media
According to the news sources, the tech giant’s manufacturing partners are willing to work with the corporation on the project despite the headset’s low profitability to showcase their technological prowess and position themselves for future AR and VR (augmented reality) gadgets.
Back in June, word got out that the firm was considering a January 2019 delivery date for its AR-MR headgear. Expert Ming-Chi Kuo said,
A Taiwanese news site, claims its sources “hinted” that Pegatron, also located in Taiwan, would be Apple’s sole assembly manufacturer, with manufacturing ramping up “by the end of the first quarter of 2023.”
According to Tech industry sources, the primary market for this device will be “commercial markets,” and “rough estimations” place the 2023 manufacturing run at roughly 750,000 units. Previous reports said the device will cost between $2,000 and $3,000.
A business with ties to Apple filed to trademark “Reality One”, “Reality Pro” and “Reality CPU” in August, raising the possibility that Apple may use its name for the headgear and its accompanying processor.
RealityOS was trademarked by Shell business with ties to Apple earlier this year, and the term has since appeared in App Store upload logs and Apple source code. Bloomberg claims that Apple is developing a reality (ROS) client for FaceTime that will include features such as face tracking to power Memoji avatars, a VR version of Maps, spatial versions of Notes and Calendar, the ability to view Mac’s display in a headset, and augmented reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR) tools for developers.
The Information reports that it will be powered by the same M2 chip found in the newest MacBooks and will include hand tracking, eye tracking, face tracking, leg tracking, and iris scanning for logins and payments, while supply chain analyst Ming-Chi Kuo claims it will weigh noticeably less than current VR headsets and feature high-resolution OLED microdisplays.
So far, the rumours have indicated that Apple’s device would have better specs than Quest Pro, including a higher resolution display, faster CPU, more features, and a thinner body, but at a higher price. For a release before WWDC 2023, Kuo believes Apple will have a media event in January, ship developer kits two to four weeks later, and begin taking pre-orders in the second quarter of 2023. Annually in June, Apple has its annual software conference known as WWDC.

Microsoft wedge keyboard battery life
Tumblr media
If there's any feature Microsoft really should have improved, it's the dinky 720p webcam - it's average and a bump up to 1080p or an upgraded sensor for our Zoom reality would have been appreciated. And the touchscreen is responsive, as is the Alcantara-covered tactile keyboard and smooth trackpad. The magnetic Surface Connect port is as useful as ever. The rest of the Surface Laptop 4 is copy and pasted from the Laptop 3, too. Do razor-thin bezels really matter at the end of the day? But if that bothers you, look into an HP Spectre x360 or Dell XPS 13 - they'll have you covered.
Tumblr media
Do razor-thin bezels really matter at the end of the day? I'll take better CPU and graphics performance or longer battery life over slimmer bezels any day. It's still a sturdy clamshell, but four iterations in, it’s looking a little dated, especially the thicker bezels surrounding the bright and high-res 13.5-inch 3:2 PixelSense touchscreen. For four straight generations, Microsoft's stuck with a CNC'd aluminum wedge design. Same outfitįrom a design standpoint, the Surface Laptop 4 hasn't changed, unless you count the new Ice Blue color. What I can say is that the version I've been testing is very good -again, not M1 MacBook Pro good - but by far still my favorite thin-and-light Windows laptop. I know, it's confusing, and I hate that Microsoft has made it harder for consumers to choose. Which version do you pick? It comes down to this: AMD is for most people doing basic computing things (web browsing, watching movies, working with documents, and light photo and video editing) and Intel is for that extra power. I've been using the $1,699.99 version with Intel Core i7 processor, 16GB of RAM, and 512GB of storage.Īs you can see, there's a split between AMD and Intel (11th-gen) processors. The Surface Laptop 4 starts at $999.99, which comes with an AMD Ryzen 5 4680U chip, 8GB of RAM, and 256GB of storage. Microsoft doesn't rock the boat in any way. (Unless you're gaming on your laptop in which case it goes without saying that you should get something beefier with a discrete GPU). Like its predecessor, it remains the Windows laptop I recommend to anyone shopping for a new device. (If none of the ones above jump out, then clearly the Laptop 4 isn’t for you). Intel performance is good, but not M1 good, and battery life is solid, but not Apple god level.īut even without a chip that rivals the M1, the Surface Laptop 4 is a robust laptop with plenty of features to like.
Tumblr media
The Surface Laptop 4 can't match either spec. The M1 MacBook Pro has none of these features.Īpple's M1 MacBook Air and MacBook Pro upped the ante with class-leading battery life and performance. It has a proper row of function / media keys instead of a Touch Bar.
Tumblr media
There's an M2 SSD that's easily user-replaceable. I can login just by looking at the screen. It has a touchscreen with Surface Pen support, a magnetic port for charging, a USB-C and a USB-A port. The best thing about the Surface Laptop 4 is that it's not a MacBook.

Discover Apple’s iPad Air 6 with M2 Chip Specs
Tumblr media
Release Date of Apple’s iPad Air 6 with M2 Chip
Apple is gearing ready to introduce the iPhone 15 series within the next few days, and each of the four models will get substantial updates. The Wonderlust event that the firm is hosting is going to take place on September 12th, according to the itinerary. It was earlier rumored that the business would throw another in October or November where it will see fit to introduce the new M3 MacBook Air and MacBook Pro models. This event will reportedly take place in the United States.
At this time, it is only anticipated that the business would upgrade its iPad Air series with an M2 processor. The announcements about the iPad mini 7 and the M3 iPad Pro will be postponed until a later date.
There is a possibility that Apple may release the iPad Air 6 in the month of October, and that it will use the same M2 processor as the iPad Pro models
It was previously rumored that Apple will have another event for its MacBook updated cycle in the month of October. This was stated before. Ming-Chi Kuo, an analyst for the technology industry, predicted that Apple would not have an event for the M3 MacBooks during this year.
However, the analyst did not mention anything regarding the iMac, which continues to be a possibility despite his silence. Weibo (via MacRumors) has allegedly been the source of a fresh rumor that claims Apple will only unveil the iPad Air 6 this year.
If the report turns out to be true, Apple will not release any new MacBooks or iMacs during this year’s holiday season. It would seem that the firm wants the 15-inch MacBook Air to continue its run in the market for a few more months before it makes the decision to replace and simplify the whole of the portfolio with a new CPU.
It is speculated that Apple would make the M3 processor and new MacBook models public in the following year, most likely at its Spring event. As for this year, the business is working on a new and more powerful M2 processor that will be included into the iPad Air 6 that will be upgraded.
The performance of Apple’s iPad Air models might be challenged by the forthcoming M2 MacBook Air, which would place the iPad Air range in direct competition with the M2 iPad Pro variants. On the other hand, the iPad Pro has certain extra functions that are geared at more advanced users.
Despite this, a lot of customers would be interested in purchasing the iPad Air 6 because of its reduced cost. Next year, Apple plans to introduce the M3 iPad Pro models, which will differentiate the ‘Pro’ models from the rest of the iPad lineup thanks to a broad variety of new features and improvements.
It’s possible that Apple may introduce the iPad Air 6 with a press release followed by a brief film demonstrating how the tablet works. Gurman claims that Apple would not organize a separate event for a single product unless the business intends to introduce a new model of iPad in conjunction with the introduction of the product. Additionally, it was previously stated that Apple intends to release the iPad mini 7 with improved internals in the near future.
We have a strong suspicion that Apple will make an announcement on the new iPad Air 6 and iPad mini 7 through a press release in the month of October. It’s possible that the iPad Air 6 will arrive with an M2 chip, while the iPad mini 7 will have an A17 Bionic processor, both of which will be fabricated using 3nm technology.
Please keep in mind that all of this information is just speculative at this point, since Apple has the right to make the ultimate decision. At the moment, everyone is talking about Apple’s next Wonderlust event since the firm is getting ready to unveil the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Pro models, in addition to the new Apple Watch Series 9 and Apple Watch Ultra 2 devices. Additionally, it was believed that the business is working on a new version of the AirPods Pro headphones that would have a charging case compatible with USB-C. Make sure you stay around because we are going to provide full and detailed coverage of the event.
