Information on pruning overgrown plants.

Your goals are to have adequate air flow throughout the plant, remove diseased or dead branches, and have good light penetrating the entire plant.

Remove any branch that is rubbing against another. This can cause an open wound on the branch, which is an opportunity for disease to invade the plant.

Remove branches that are growing toward the center of the plant. Also, remove any branches that cross each other. Remember we want to provide both air circulation and light penetration.

Remove any dead or diseased branches. A dead branch will be brittle, its buds will be brown. While a live branch will be flexible, buds will be green and there will be a green layer under the bark.

Generally, remove 1/3 of the plants’ height or 1/3 of its branches.

Remove any suckers and or waterspouts. These 2 types of branches look similar, growing straight up. However, a sucker originates from the roots or below the graft. While the waterspout will be vigorous and originate from the trunk or large branches.

planting trees in densely urban areas will lower the urban heat-island effect on the ground and reduce the number of heat-related illnesses and deaths over time.

trees also help pull pollution from the atmosphere and fix it into their wood and bark. did you know trees life spans can be shortened by being closer to roads/polluted air? they serve us and die for us and we don’t even notice.

trees protect us and we should really respect them more as the globe warms. In the USA, if you’re wealthy/lucky you will have many trees in your neighborhood. If you are in a low-income area they are rarer. this directly correlates to heat deaths.

so if you see a tree dying from drought in your neighborhood…. maybe give it a hand if you can. that tree may very much pay your community back years down the line

New Quirk Name: Tree Drake

This Transformation type Quirk allows the user to take on the form of a wooden, Western-style dragon with scales of bark and wings of leaves. The form boasts a greater size, making them as large as a double-decker bus, and physical abilities, able to smash their way through heavy stone and tank shots from high-caliber weapons without issue. The wings grant the user flight as well, and they can carry heavy loads like cars without issue. The user has some control over their wood, such as growing the wood out to make their claws sharper or wrapping their branches around someone to hold them. This can even let the user regrow damage done to the form. This gives the user a good mix of options, with the innate power of the form complimented by their control over it. They can smash into their enemies, tie foes into their body, carry allies around on their back, adjust their form as to adapt to the situation, or simply disguise themselves among the foliage. Though the form is rather taxing on the user, requiring more stamina for the user to maintain it and making longer battles an issue. The form is still made of wood, meaning it can be broken and burned like regular wood.
