Blue Road Partners with Fortune Group to Launch a Condo Project
Tumblr media
Blue Road, a Florida-based integrated developer of hotels, residential, commercial, and mixed-use projects, has announced the sales launch of Nexo Residences, a condo building in North Miami Beach that allows for short-term rentals, in collaboration with Fortune International Group. Fortune International Group has been a leading real estate development, sales, and marketing organization in South Florida for almost four decades.
The 254-unit complex is setting the standard in North Miami Beach's rapidly expanding condo market by offering prospective residents the option of short-term rentals. Located at 13899 Biscayne Boulevard, the property offers residences ready for immediate possession, extensive, flexible home-sharing options, and resort-style facilities.
Nexo Residences offers turnkey apartments ranging from studios to four-bedroom townhomes, starting at $400,000. The townhomes boast interior square footage ranging from 525 to 2,190 square feet. Investors are drawn to this property because homeowners can rent their homes for short, extended, or seasonal stays with no listing limits.
The turnkey apartments feature porcelain flooring, floor-to-ceiling windows, built-in closets in the bedrooms, separate lockable closets for the owners, and spacious balconies with glass railings. European-style kitchens exude a contemporary look with materials like matte black fixtures and quartz countertops. Residents will appreciate the property's enhanced digital amenities, including smart key entry, a self-service package system, and Wi-Fi in all communal spaces.
The two-story arrival lobby and lounge, part of Nexo Residences' amenity portfolio, offer a visually stunning experience upon entering the premises. Inspired by South Florida's allure as a year-round tourist destination, the lobby combines elements of its design with the necessities of a remote work lifestyle. Entertainment options include an outdoor playground for children, a versatile clubroom, and a dedicated area for special events. This digital hub provides an ideal environment for productivity, featuring a business center, café, and coworking spaces spread across two floors.
The fitness facility has a yoga studio, virtual trainer services, and other amenities for health-conscious individuals. Residents can unwind on the picturesque pool deck with a resort-style pool and two spa pools with loungers basking in the Miami sunlight. They can also gather with friends in the summer kitchen before stargazing from the observation deck. Additionally, pet-friendly building residents can rest assured that their furry companions are welcome on the grounds.
Frankel Benayoun Architects Inc. executed the project's design with contributions from the globally renowned Carlos Ott. Their impressive portfolio includes Oasis Wynwood, the Gucci Flagship in Miami's Design District, the W Hotel South Beach, and other notable retail concepts. Their expertise spans landscape architecture, interior design, and beyond. Fortune Development Sales oversees all marketing and sales activities for this condo project.
Nexo Residences' prime location on Biscayne Boulevard, a major thoroughfare, presents an excellent investment opportunity. It is conveniently situated near various attractions for both work and leisure in Miami, Bal Harbour, Aventura, North Bay Village, Sunny Isles, Hollywood Beach, and surrounding areas. The Intracoastal Waterway is easily accessible, and the distances between Miami International Airport and Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport are nearly equal. Also, local parks and green spaces are nearby, including Haulover Park and Oleta River State Park. Aventura Mall recently underwent a multimillion-dollar expansion, and Bal Harbour Shops are also close.

Tuscan Transformation: Dubai-based VSHD Design expands its international portfolio with the completion of their first U.S. residential project – The Ranch
VSHD Design, a Dubai-based interior architecture firm specializing in residential and commercial projects, is proud to unveil a luxurious residential design within the Four Seasons Orlando Resort in Florida. With 22,000 sq. ft. this project marks the first residential undertaking of the firm in the United States.
“From the onset, we realized that we were facing numerous challenges with this project,” notes Rania Hamed, interior architect and founder of VSHD Design. “In addition to strict regional building and environmental codes, there were requirements imposed by Four Seasons Resorts to ensure that the residence blended stylistically with its neighboring properties.”
A modern Tuscan approach In approaching the external Tuscan theme exhibited by homes within the exclusive development, the challenge was to maintain some existing structural elements, while delivering on the client’s vision of a modern home that would be luxurious, yet warm, comfortable, and ideal for entertaining guests. The client envisioned a sort of boutique-style hotel environment that would provide family and friends with privacy and luxurious amenities, even in the absence of its owners. To achieve that challenging balance, Hamed embarked on a mission to modernize the external Tuscan façade, while infusing contemporary luxury into the home’s interior to align with the client’s vision.
While Tuscan architecture in its purest form embraces natural, rustic elements, VSHD Design avoided abundant use of materials such as brick and wrought iron in lieu of a modern interpretation. Gray brick overhangs positioned above the external façade’s windows and passages pay homage to Tuscan influences. Black frames of expansive French windows, certified to hurricane standards, provide contemporary contrasts to the façade’s white walls, culminating in a modern Mediterranean style that adheres to the Four Seasons aesthetic requirements.
To complement the structural design, VSHD Design developed all of the home’s outdoor spaces, beginning with its swimming pool. European limestone tiles, stylistic planters, and luxurious sunbeds from the Italian design house, Gervasoni, provide the exterior spaces with an authentic Mediterranean look and feel.
Seamless transitions While the exterior exudes modern interpretations of mandated styles and standards, VSHD Design approached the interior of the house as somewhat of a blank canvas. Working with a timber structure, as opposed to concrete columns and beams, was a new experience, however, Hamed found inspiration in the challenge.
“I saw beauty in some of the original structural elements and I wanted to maintain as many of them as possible,” she explains. “I decided to leave some of the exposed beams intact, as opposed to hiding them behind a layer of gypsum.”
Exposed wooden beams reflecting the original structure’s integrity were maintained, with layers of dark stain and black metal trim added to provide a more industrial feel. Hamed also focused on ensuring seamless continuity between the home’s interior and exterior spaces. Upon entering the house, Carrara marble flooring carries the influences inward, where Tuscan-style arches define the separation of the home’s interior spaces, reinforced by clean, modern, and slightly protruding architraves. The architraves, composed of black matte stained oak, contrast with the interior’s white walls and light gray marble flooring, providing the home’s public areas with a very contemporary look and feel. In living spaces designed for more intimate experiences, Carrara marble flooring gives way to hardwood floors.
“Marble can have a bit of a cold feel to it, particularly when framed by white ceilings and walls,” explains Hamed. “We created a transition to hardwood floors to provide certain spaces, like the living room and the study, with a much warmer ambiance.”
Boutique-style accommodations The main floor houses the master bedroom, highlighted by a luxurious contemporary décor and direct access to the adjacent pool area and outdoor shower, designed as part of VSHD’s vision of an indoor/outdoor lifestyle. The master bedroom’s spa-inspired adjoining spaces include a freestanding bathtub as the centerpiece of a spacious bathroom that also features an individual toilet and shower cubicles. The bathtub is flanked by a wall of floor-to-ceiling French windows on one side and dual washbasins with custom-designed mirrors on the other. Completing the spa-like theme, a small spiral staircase leads to an upper-level gym area featuring a steam room and waterjet shower.
The spa-like feel and amenities extend to the home’s 6 upper-level guest suites, half of which offer private external access for guest stays while the owners are away. Each self-sufficient guest suite features a unique decorative style and is equipped with a mini kitchen, a small pantry, and a spa-inspired bathroom.
“The client’s brief focused on a concept where each room should have a completely different, yet thoroughly modern theme,” explains Hamed. “We incorporated Chinese, Spanish, and multiple other influences in order to provide each suite with its own distinct character and mood.”
The client’s vision of a boutique-style hotel extends to the home’s main dining room, inspired by Italian architect Ettore Sottsass. A ‘modern-retro’ black and white console from Italy contrasts against a wall panel of gold leaf wallpaper, bordered by marble. The panel’s adjacent walls are characterized by ribbed white paneling with a stained wood base, while a cloud lighting fixture from New York’s Apparatus Studio provides adds a celestial touch to the room.
Pièce de résistance In order to tie the interior spaces together, VSHD Design embarked on an ambitious plan to develop a new patio space at the center of the house to create stimulating visual links between multiple areas of the house. To separate the pool area from the patio, and to connect the master bedroom to the living spaces, the design team built an enclosed lanai with four expansive French windows on each side, which infuse the passage with natural light. The abundantly lit corridor is lined with wicker chairs, creating a fabulous reading room with the feel of an open space courtesy of pool views to the left, and patio views and greenery to the right. At the end of the passageway, a staircase to the left ascends to the second level of the home alongside floor-to-ceiling windows that overlook the patio and offer views of the lanai and other external spaces.
“By blending traditional elements with a modern contemporary mix, we succeeded in achieving a contrast that works well,” notes Rania Hamed. “We didn’t want that contrast to be too soft, so the use of black and white, with Carrera marble flooring, provides the home with a strong modern-vintage look.”

Saturday morning, at the end of the conference, I always look forward to the emerging artist presentation. I find these talks to be tremendously energizing, full of good will and optimistic for the future. I relish in how the presenters are often a little nervous and occasionally native, reminding me that we all start somewhere.
This year Ayumi Horie, Arthur Gonzalez and I reviewed all the submissions for emerging artist and I was so impressed by the passion, ideas and dedication of the artist. What a variety of process, concepts and materials – it’s very exciting. I love seeing this new work and witnessing soon to be leaders in our field. I find the hope for the future of our field inspiring. Sample work of the emerging artist will be on display at the expo center – and these presenters will be with their work in shifts over the conference, to meet and answer questions. I never miss the emerging artist Saturday presentations, and I hope to see you there.
NCECA 2018 Emerging Artist
Juror Statement
This year’s group of Emerging Artists embody the rich multiplicity of work that is redefining who and what we are as a ceramics field. Collectively they are expansive in their thinking and brave in the narratives that they are bringing to light. In this charged political climate, where old assumptions and power structures are crumbling, we find in these young artists the guts and grit to openly express their experiences, to mix clay and non-clay with fluency, and to challenge existing norms.
As the dust settles online and we mature as artists on social media, there is incredible cross-pollination taking place globally. Artists are able to both move the conversation forward at an unprecedented clip and distill for themselves the authenticity of their work relative to others. This pluralism of ideas is solidly evident in this particular group of artists, yet we would have been even more pleased to have seen a greater number applicants whose main concern is function.
Craftsmanship and material understanding were a given to judging this pool, but it was also critical to us as jurors to honor and celebrate voices that traditionally have not been given a place at the table. The sweeping shift from discrete collectible object to art that is time-based, fragile, inclusive of other materials, and made solely for the artist’s personal needs is a major shift. Recognizing and legitimizing the edges of our expanding ceramic universe is what will keep our field vital and relevant.

Natalia Arbelaez is a Colombian American, born and raised in Miami, Florida. She received her B.F.A. from Florida International University and her M.F.A. from The Ohio State University, where she received an Enrichment Fellowship. She completed a yearlong residency at the Clay Art Center; Port Chester, New York as a Barbra Rittenburg Fellow and was awarded the 2016 Inaugural Artaxis Fellowship that funded a residency to the Watershed in Newcastle, Maine. Natalia currently lives and works in New York.
I was born in the United States of America but spent the first 4 years of my life in Medellin, Colombia. When I immigrated back to the states I was encouraged to assimilate quickly. I felt to be a proud American meant you had to forget about your past and look to the future. Having been so young, it was easy to forget. First my language, then the food, and eventually everything else quickly slipped away. Still, I was constantly questioned about where I came from, “are you black, Mexican, Puerto Rican, what are you?” I was insulted. I don’t know where it came from, but it became ingrained in me that being a white American was ideal and that’s what you wanted to be. I thought since I was born here I could be those things but growing up in a blue-collar town in the middle of Connecticut constantly reminded me that I was not.

A graduate of the Designed Objects department from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, Adam hybridizes digital technology with traditional studio crafts. Recent publications on ceramic technology include Studio Potter, Ceramics Technical, and Ceramics Monthly.
My interest in the multiple stemmed from being a baker’s son. I learned, quickly, that in the production of multiples there is an attuned judgment of quality based on different criteria – taste, decoration, etc – however at the same time there was not a clear line between what was acceptable and what was not (i.e. would a star-shaped cookie still be edible if one of its points was a slightly different length from the others?). Later I would learn that this is called ‘tolerance’.

Wade MacDonald
Wade was born in Nashville, Tennessee to parents who are retired opera singers. He has traveled extensively throughout Europe to conduct research. Wade obtained an MFA in Studio Art from Michigan State University and has attended Banff Centre, Anderson Ranch Art Center, and Red Lodge Clay Center.
In 1919, after the experiencing the horrors of World War I, the German artist, designer, and architect, Walter Gropius, stated in the Bauhaus Manifesto “The ultimate aim of all visual arts is the complete building!” This statement is accompanied by other important declarations including the need to return to craft in an attempt to subvert elitist art institutions of post-war Germany, as well as the importance of developing a unique sensitivity toward craft for the growth of one’s art practice. Gropius’ statement about architecture’s essential role in shaping the culture it reflects is an idea at the fore of my creative research. I have a fervent belief that architectural design and its subsequent construction is a prominent form of new utilitarian sculpture with an experiential power akin to functional ceramics.

Janet Macpherson studied ceramics at Sheridan College, and received her MFA from The Ohio State University. Recent solo exhibitions include the Gardiner Museum of Ceramic Art in Toronto, and the Yukon Arts Centre in Whitehorse. Janet lives and works in Toronto, Canada.
Hybrids present us with two things happening simultaneously. They are in flux, one always alluding to and challenging the other. The borders between humans and animals, the manufactured and the natural, the spiritual and the visceral are distinct yet permeable, illustrating differences while creating spaces for wonder and uncertainty. The work has also been inspired by visits to the Ohio State Agricultural Fair, where farm animals were clothed in protective fabrics, tethered tightly to posts, awaiting exhibition and judging.

She is currently an Assistant Professor of Art at Montgomery College in Maryland.
When looking at a strand of hair with our naked eye, one sees a smooth, whole filament. However, through a microscope, the same filament is segmented, an assembly of different parts and subtler structures. Focusing on the overlooked components that define our reality is central to my artistic process and outlook. Through the process of amassing detailed parts, I see in my finished pieces both the whole and the elements that create it. This journey enables me to appreciate the micro and macro simultaneously, reaching an intuitive understanding of the whole work as well as its component parts through accumulation and synthesis.

Andrew is a queer ceramic-based performance artist from Cuero and San Antonio, Texas. Currently, he is an Assistant Professor at the University of Minnesota Morris, teaching Ceramics and Photography. He received his MFA from UMass Dartmouth in 2017 and is a member of the artist collective The Lullwood Group.
I seek not to appease, but rather confront my audience. To do so, my work and my practice bluntly questions popularized ideals of beauty and desire; I seek my own alternative version of beauty that accepts and is influenced by the unexpected or the traumatic. Through an open-narrative in material, I consume and integrate performance, photography and process-oriented craft to create a unique moment.

Avenue south residence price list
A vacation isn't a vacation unless one escapes the irritants of ownable life. Because really, where traveling is concerned, is that not what a temporary interlude is for? To run off to new reality and discover a hidden existence from apart from daily trifling. To discover there is more to the person than just making breakfast for the kids or working a 9 to 5 job. Traveling light is ascertaining there is MORE to life than what meets the budget or the eye.
To travel lightly has a lot of advantages, more so on the sanity of the person. It is to appreciate the beauty of the culture without literal and emotional baggage to carry around, half of which you don't even need for a carefree jaunt. More than that, one will not be forced to take expensive accommodations because some form of protection is needed for all those material things.
Tumblr media
The famed city of sun and sand, Miami, is a Bohemian respite. Do not expect another Soho or even a quaint San Francisco. There are no people in heels or expensive suits although this is not brought about by any lack of such whatsoever. Even if the place is one of the richest commercial beach towns, there are no airs of uptightness. Miami has energy in itself, albeit surprisingly calm amidst the cosmopolitan. Avenue south residence price list  South Beach is a myriad of skin, slip-ons, shorts, suntan lotion and more skin. In a place where nudity is pride, the laidback atmosphere will make a beach trip more than just visual pleasure.
South Beach is home to 7 miles of beach area where the traveler can engage in what philosophers refer to as 'necessary boredom'. Swimming is a must, as is walking through the coastline, eating in the several seaside restaurants with access to affordable seafood, talking to pet owners or chess players, actively crisscrossing along with the thousands of bikes and rollerblades or just sitting by the coast with book and iPod ready.
If tired of the constant sunshine, go through Ocean Drive, home to the once infamous Art Deco Buildings of high crime rates. This only adds to the mysticism of the now historic area though. Don't take a guided tour. Instead, stroll through the streets of Ocean Drive, 18th Street and Collins Avenue as if you had all the time in the world. Everywhere you go anyway, you're sure to bound into one of the over 800 historic places in the district. The Streamline Moderne, a dominant area in the Art Deco style, is prominently evident in the Cardozo and Avalon Hotels. One can also visit the Wolfsonian-FIU museum, a fascinating display collection of the modern era.
Planning the trip on December? You might even chance upon the Art Basel Miami Beach, a display from almost 200 leading art galleries and over 1,500 artists. If not, there are still several public displays for artistic consumption whatever month you're planning to travel.
Lincoln Road is also a great cultural sightsee even without visiting shops, boutiques and cafes. The on-street performance artists are constant wonders for tourists and locals alike. Lincoln road now reflects what architects dub as 'MiMo' or Miami Modern Architecture. The road itself was redesigned and is now home to concert halls, bars and restaurants but these shouldn't be the main sightsee to a conscious traveler. Instead, go to Lincoln Theatre where a Frank-Gehry designed space can be seen. The theatre has a constant stream of upcoming artists whose performances are considered steals for such talents. For as little as $10 to $30, the traveler can now have access to Comedy Festivals, Indian Dance Festivals and Film festivals.
Even without paying, Lincoln Road can provide eye candy by going through galleries and studios for new artists at the Art Center South Florida.
Miami cheap flights have now made it possible to take vacations more often. If you make your reservation early, there are airline promos that can even lessen the standard price. For those planning a getaway, reserve the tickets two to three weeks before the due date. Peak seasons can also up the prices of airline services. Holidays are marks of expensive airline fares. If you can delay your trip on ordinary days then do so. Weekends are usually higher than weekdays also. Try scheduling a trip to or from Miami during a weekday. Not only is it cheaper in flight but there is likelihood that the rest of your vacation components like hotel accommodation, rental car services, restaurant reservations and others will not go up. It is best to check whether there are important public happenings during your trip. If so, airlines will most likely take advantage and jack up prices a bit higher than usual.

Florence Knoll Bassett’s Collection to Be Auctioned
Before there was “Mad Men” and Don Draper, there was Florence Knoll, as she was known, arguably the designer most responsible for the square-jawed corporate look that conquered American offices after World War II.
Florence Knoll Bassett, who died this year at 101, lived to see her spare, handsome office landscapes televised more than a half century after Knoll Associates — where she was the eye and force majeure — invented the structured style that we now call “midcentury modern.” Trained as an architect, she translated Bauhaus architecture into low, clean-lined, floaty furniture, and helped establish interior design as a profession.
“I am not a decorator,” she pointedly clarified in 1964 in a New York Times interview. “The only place I decorate is my own house.”
Phillips is now offering a peek into just how, in fact, Florence Knoll Bassett decorated her homes in New York, and then Florida, where, after the death of her husband Hans Knoll, she married Harry Hood Bassett, a Miami banker. Some 50 artworks are being offered at two evening sales, on Oct. 25 and Nov. 14.
From the late 1940s until the early ’70s, the most intensive period of her collecting, she bought from galleries and from artist friends during studio visits. Though she saw with the eye of a Modernist, her eye was eclectic rather than strict, and open to different forms of abstraction.
“Atmosphere Chromoplastique,” a gridded wood-and-acrylic relief by Luis Tomasello, offers optically subtle plays of geometry, as does “Torsions,” a relief in stretched polyvinyl by Walter Leblanc. Besides geometry, Knoll liked color. Rufino Tamayo’s “Five Slices of Watermelon” is, unsurprisingly, watermelon red, and Morris Louis painted “Singing” with stripes of rich, saturated colors. Some abstract works flirt with figurative forms, such as Paul Klee’s caustic “Der Exkaiser.”
A ceramic vase by Picasso captures in a few quick strokes the smile on a face. The exception to the Modernist rule is a collection of antique weather vanes that decorated a wall of her last living room.
Did Knoll’s personal eye differ much from her professional eye? The evidence at Phillips suggests that she brought her Modernism home. But if she designed her houses the way she planned offices, the artworks gave her rational designs a freer, more experimental, sometimes emotional dimension, and as biography of her intimate and abiding visual interests, the collection offers a key into how she thought and saw.
The collection is personal. Even when she moved, she never traded or sold. She bought what she liked, and then lived with it until she died.

Ocean Drive Apartment on Miami Beach
Oct 1, 2021
Design: mwworks
Location: Miami Beach, FL, United States of America
Ocean Drive Apartment
Ocean Drive is a 6,112-square-foot single floor condominium unit within a new residential tower overlooking the Atlantic in Miami Beach, Florida. The clients are based in Seattle and travel often but have deep roots in the panhandle and had been looking to return home. To accommodate a family of six, this down to the slab renovation combined two smaller units to create a five bedroom retreat on the beach.
First conversations focused on the ever changing views from the space and the almost tactile quality of light at this latitude. The design grew out of a desire to amplify these phenomena and let the interior architecture be a canvas and a frame. To that end, a simple diagram was developed with a solid, shadowy service core surrounded by light elemental volumes.
The heart of the unit is clad in dark tropical hardwood with careful detailing emphasizing mass and craft. A dropped ceiling to accommodate services supplied from the core is expressed as a heavy wood raft creating subtle compression when moving between public spaces. Walls are expressed as solid wood slabs and wide plank floors matched.
At the perimeter, elemental bedroom volumes are treated in pale, sandy tones of hand troweled plaster reflecting natural light deep into the floor plate. Doors are expressed as heavy slabs with integrated closer hardware allowing for trimless jambs and simplified hardware. Switches integrated into plaster walls further reduce visual clutter. The irregular surface of the plaster highlights the changing quality of light throughout the day and lends a softness to private spaces.
Directly opposite the elevator landing a small alcove was created to mark the entry. The ‘moyo’ wall was intended to reference vernacular masonry ventilation blocks washed with natural light from a perceived adjacent court. Varied concrete mixes and interior geometry in each block lends an informality to a pattern that shifts and deforms across the assembly.
Hidden above the ceiling a programmable LED array tracks with the sun throughout the day and adjusts the light temperature. Overnight, the small powder room integrated into the alcove is illuminated with soft moonlight.
Finally, at the gathering spaces at the east and west ends of the unit, large format concrete slab floor tiles reflect light onto plaster ceilings above and provide a cool surface underfoot. A hierarchy of assemblies is established as the structural concrete deck slips over the glass window wall before stepping down as a plaster ceiling. Concrete columns remain unfinished, providing another piece of context to the nature of the intervention and layers of the larger building assembly.
Sheer curtains catch onshore breezes and bright textiles, woven baskets and patterned floor coverings add a layer of softness. Amongst the neutral canvas varied shades of blue, orange and red respond to the native flora and fauna of southern Florida. At home hosting guests or children’s sandy feet, this home references the tones, textures and tropical climate of its site while its careful craft and detailing suggests a permanence not typical of South Beach.

Shiny New Miami Mansion Under A Canopy Of Oak Trees
A newly built luxury mansion with an interior of 7,916 square feet resides at 4700 Sw 74th St, Miami, Florida. Fresh on the market at $5,900,000, the shiny new home is situated on a 34,408 sq ft lot beneath a canopy of oak trees, in the exclusive Ponce-Davis gated estate. Built by Norway Builders and architects O’Donnell Dannwolf & Partners, it boasts 5 bedrooms, 6.5 bathrooms, luxe living areas and multi-use spaces that could find purpose as a home office, media room, extra bedrooms or maid’s quarters. Vertical gardens have been included within the landscaping to further enhance spacious green surroundings. You will also find an infinity pool here, a cabana and an outdoor kitchen.
The sophisticated modern Miami mansion also includes walk-in closets, a fitness room, 3-car garage, natural stone and wood flooring, central vac, high-tech sound and security throughout. Glass walls provide wraparound stunning views over the landscaped gardens with established oak trees, with the shimmering infinity pool and sun patio.
By night, the outdoor areas are well lit and alive, making this a great place for entertaining guests too.
A stone path is set flush into the lawns around the mansion, providing pleasant modern walkways.
An impressive vertical garden extends to almost the full height of the two-story home, dramatically framed in solid white concrete. The towering vertical planting visually links the lush green lawn with the green spray of tree foliage.
The contemporary architecture of the home is linear and sharp edged in a minimalist fashion. The volumes of the home stand as flat topped glass boxes or glass display cases – showing all that is inside.
The airy dual height living room is open to a mezzanine level. Natural stone walls and wood cladding to an upper suspended volume warm up the look of the white decor scheme. A natural area rug creates a centre point around which to anchor all of the lounge furniture. The wooden nesting coffee tables at the centre of the furniture arrangement are the Live Edge type..
Dual height windows give the open living room a view of the garden all the way from roots to treetops. The floor level windows are actually retractable doors which open up onto a sun patio with outdoor sitting areas.
An outdoor wooden volume on the opposite wing of the house matches the wood clad interior volume that hangs above the living room. A neat bar area resides behind the lounge sofa, in front of a line of storage cabinets and bespoke shelving.
The open staircase design has floating wooden treads and a transparent glass balustrade.
A Live Edge dining table has been matched with six low-backed taupe modern dining chairs. The natural colour and material of the dining ensemble works in harmony with the lush green garden view through surrounding windows. Tree themed artwork bridges the break in the view.
A SieMatic eat-in island kitchen has been fitted with top of the line appliances. Smooth woodtone slides up against gloss white kitchen cabinets to make refreshing contrast.
End-to-end and floor-to-ceiling white units cover one entire wall of the kitchen. A couple of swivel bar stools at each end of the kitchen island form two different dining spots. Spotlights are recessed into dropped ceiling panels over the kitchen arrangement.
An upholstered platform bed looks out over another spectacular garden view from the master bedroom. The bed and two small side tables with bedside table lamps are set against a half height partially dividing wall. A bedroom sitting area resides behind the divide with its own garden aspect; wood flooring links the two areas as one.
One of the bathrooms enjoys garden views of the private plot, with huge glass panes encircling a freestanding bathtub and double vanity unit.
This smaller shower room design is a more private affair. We can just make out the reflection of a highly situated letterbox window. Other fixtures provide illumination in lieu of natural light in this space, like the illuminated mirror over the small wall hung vanity unit. You can get a similar backlit wall mirror on Amazon..
The mezzanine landing has a glass balustrade so that the green views from outside and the fresh white ground floor scheme can carry straight on through. The landing leads around to a multi-use space that appears to hang as an individual box, suspended over the living room below.
Inside the ‘box’ room we find glorious dual aspect windows, framed in wood planking. The room is accessed via an interior glass door.
Another room offers a snug space, which is currently home to some seating and side tables. You can get a similar styled floor lamp here.
A glass hallway ventures through flourishing foliage at either side.
Stepping out through glass doors, we cross a small bridge that leads to a set of modern outdoor chairs.
The sweeping sun deck can be accessed from each of the downstairs rooms via their own set of patio doors.
The backyard is mesmerizing! You could lay out on those outdoor lounge chairs all day and night.
The infinity pool can be enjoyed after nightfall too thanks to an outdoor lighting scheme.
An outdoor kitchen provides further opportunity to spend time out enjoying nature and the beauty of the landscaped oak tree gardens.
Here are a few more renders and plans developed prior to the construction by the architect.
