question about prompts: do they have to be only a cliche or trope? or can they be heartstopper-specific? sorry if that question sounds confusing

Ideally, they’d be both! The prompt should relate to Heartstopper, not be just a generic cliche or trope prompt.

So instead of prompting “enemies to lovers” you could prompt: “Tara can’t figure out why she’s suddenly starting to feel differently about the girl she was always annoyed by. Could it be that Darcy is more than just the loud girl in her form?”

Or “Tao is the president of the film club and Elle is president of the art club and both clubs are trying to reserve the same event space for the same night.”

Or you could just say “Nick/Charlie, enemies to lovers” and let the writer do with that what they will.

The cliche/trope parameter is to give people an easy jumping off point, but we really encourage you to make it your own! (A little secret from a moderator: we’re not going to be heavily policing prompts.)

I seem to have lost the email that show my order number and shipping address and I like to double check that the address is correct, is there a way for me to find it with something like a transaction ID?

Yes, we are able to pull up your order using other information, but this is something that we can only do through email or direct messaging. What we would need in order to pull up the correct order in our system is a combination of at least two of the following:

💠 Your full name

If you entered a different name under the “business name“ category, you can provide that as well. We are happy to refer to you by any name you feel most comfortable using, whether or not that is the one you had to use when placing your order.

💠 The mailing address used when placing your order

This is also an available option for finding digital-only orders.

💠 The complete email address used when placing your order

If you updated your address through our Google form, you can provide the newer address instead.

💠 The phone number associated with your order

We will never reach out to you via text or phone calls. If you receive any phone calls, claiming to be from someone in this project, that is a scam. All of our correspondence is handled through email and direct messaging as of this time.

💠 The transaction ID from PayPal or Stripe

This is the simplest way to find your order. every order placed through our shop would have been processed by one of these two services. Each transaction has a fully unique payment ID/code that we can use to pull up your exact order and any relevant information.

Please make sure to specify which service you used for payment processing when placing your order so that we can find it quickly.

Just to reiterate:

You only need to provide a minimum of two things listed above to verify your order information and help us find it in the system as quickly as possible. You do not need to include every single thing listed above when reaching out. Which ever two options are easiest, for you should work OK for us.

Hey, I found a beanie boo that I liked the design of but I can't stand those giant uguu eyes. Do you think it would be possible to replace them with smaller safety eyes akin to the old beanie babies? If yes, do you have any advice?

I was gonna answer this in a normal way, but then I got curious about trying it for myself and thought I might as well demonstrate!

So, I went and picked up a guy from the supermarket. The selection there was pretty barren today but I found a decent test subject:

(First of all, to my friend who loves beanie boos, I am so sorry for this lmao)

So! First I opened up the closing seam on his back. However, I found an extra mesh barrier inside! Clearly this is to prevent bean escape since this is the most likely seam to accidentally pop open through play. This would be a bit annoying to work around so I just sewed it back up and went in the back of the head instead…

Opened and unstuffed the head…

…And turning it inside out to get to the backs of the eyes. Whoa, these plastic washers are the biggest I’ve ever seen!! Cutting through them will take some work!

Please be very careful of your fingers cutting through these!! Be careful not to cut the fabric around the eye too, but mostly be careful of yourself!

Anyway grrrrrrr attack attack slice slice grrrr

They’re out! With a little glue I think the washers would be able to hold on perfectly well again. I’ll keep these eyes to reuse on something where they’ll be a bit more proportional!

The washers on these eyes are particularly cup shaped, fitting around the back of the eye and holding the fabric tightly against them. Now that the eyes are removed, this has left imprints on the fur!

Plenty of brushing and rumfling will help to fix the creased and flattened areas of fur, and wetting the fur or gently steaming over a hot cup of water should help too. It might take a little time!

(Also, I did make a little cut in the cheek while removing a washer, oops! No worries, that can be stitched up.)

Now we can try on a few new eye styles! Restuff the head for now so you can see how they’ll look.

I have a few sizes of solid black, from teeny dots to absolute tbh creature…

These blue eyes were a little scary… no thanks!

I even have some glittery ones like the original, but smaller! Pretty nice actually!

And even some googly eyes hehehe!

But my favourite eyes were some basic 9mm black ones! They are placed a little funny here, but the position will change a little bit…

The holes left by the original eyes were very big, so a couple of stitches are needed on each one to tighten them up to fit the new eyes. I stitched the top outer corners, to move the holes down and inwards a bit. If you wanted, you could even sew them closed completely and make new eye holes elsewhere!

Unstuff again and pop those new eyes in!

Restuff! You might actually need to add a little extra stuffing, as the fabric not being so pulled around the eyes any more will mean it is a little ‘baggier’.

Then sew the head closed again and that’s about it! The fur is still a little creased around mine, but I’ll keep working at it and it should become less visible.

To add a tiny bit more shape to the big round head, I also did a touch of threadsculpting. I ran a thread from the corner of each eye to below the chin and back, just pulling the eyes in a tad more. You might decide you don’t need this!

And there we go! Hope you’ll try it yourself!

The phrase "from the river to the sea" is an antisemitic phrase. That phrase is about the forceful expulsion of Jews from every land and into the sea to die off. It is very unfortunate that it's being used unwittingly by well meaning people to rally support for Palestine and their suffering (which we should do! Please don't misunderstand). That phrase is too loaded.

hello there anon, i am going to word this as gently as i can. i myself am jewish, and i will not be taking down the post as i fundamentally disagree that "from the river to the sea" is antisemitic. the saying is not to do with expelling jews from anywhere, much less killing us all. it is referring to the fact that israel is a settler colonial state on land that palestinians (of all religions - including jews) have inhabited for thousands of years. from the river to the sea is a reaffirmation of this land-history and a call to action against the ethnic cleansing, genocide, and erasure that palestinians have faced under israeli apartheid/governance. saying that the restoration of palestinian land to the palestinian people would result in jewish genocide is a baseless projection. do not get me wrong, there are absolutely people using the pro-palestine movement as a mask for their antisemitism, but this phrase did not originate with them. the reason this phrase is so divisive is the same reason "landback" is so divisive. settler-colonialism is so pervasive in the west that the idea of indigenous people seeking sovereignty over their land without violently dispossessing all others who live on the land is unfathomable, no matter how many times indigenous people have made it clear that they have no desire to do so. to put it bluntly, that phrase is only "too loaded" if you do not recognize palestinians as indigenous to their land, at which point whatever support you're "rallying" would be rendered useless.

hi! i saw a post about the fest today and am wondering if gifsets are also allowed? they're not mentioned in the ~anything goes list of acceptable fanworks, so i wanted to check before getting hyped to participate. :)

Hi, Thanks for writing to us, we're thrilled with all the excitement for the fest! We are encouraging all kinds of media and artworks, so yes! However we'd just like to highlight a couple of things:

As a general rule, since this is a prompt-based fest, the gifset (or any fanwork), would have to fit a cliche prompt or trope or have some sort of narrative to it.

Additionally, these works will all be posted to Ao3, and anonymously at first, so the gifset would have to be posted on ao3 only, at least until all the works have been released and creators have been revealed (i.e, not cross-posted or linked back to tumblr during the period where works are still anonymous).

10 years of gathering all of that blood, sweat and tears which I hope to so very lovingly pour all over the pages of a end-of-decade yearbook zine to commemorate an experience just as excruciating as the usual high-school experience. 

So, no matter if you've been here since the beginning, or if you've only very recently jumped face-first into the spiderpool – if you love us, and ask-spiderpool has meant something to you, please leave your mark on ask-spiderpool history. Scribble something sappy with some sparkly gel-pens. Whip out some glittery stickers, and fancy highlighters. Put on your best lipgloss, and leave us a kiss on the page. Anything goes, (but please don't be a dick and draw a dick. Expecting a little bit more originality than that.) Ideally a white or transparent background, but allowances will be made if you're sending in something a little fancier (who am I to stop you?)

If you'd like to submit a fan-comic or a piece of prose, feel free to shoot me a message - I might be shooting around some messages myself – the theme is high-school (cheerleader outfits abound!)

If you can't or don't want to submit an image, there's also an option for short written submissions. Leave us a love note in our locker, and share the love.
