i hate that la roche posay uriage avène and all the thermal water based products are seen as good (or maybe are actually good) because it's totally not because of the thermal water as thermal/spa water sources etc are scams they don't have any effect and cost millions to the french healthcare system every year

My Evening Skincare
Step 1: I remove makeup and cleanse my skin.
Tumblr media
I’m quite fastidious about taking off my makeup in the most careful and gentle way and cleansing my face until there’s no residue of the long day left on my skin. The tap water in my area isn’t the best, and I don’t like to use flannels to wash my face, so instead between steps I wash by spraying my face generously with Avène’s thermal water and wiping everything away with bamboo sheets. I start by removing my eye makeup—I soak two of the DHC pads in my Lancôme remover and leave them on my eyes for 30 seconds before carefully wiping away, and then use cotton buds to remove my mascara. I use the D’Alba cleanser to first melt off my base makeup, and then the Doina milk as a kind of in-between stage between an oil and cream cleanser. By the time I reach for my Superdrug cleanser, all my makeup is removed, and so I really massage in the cleansing cream with my little silicone scrubber for at least 1 minute. I rinse, then wipe off any remaining residue with another pad soaked in Eau de Lait, and splash my face with the Blithe mask diluted in some icy water. Lastly, I pat my face just a little bit dry with a clean microfibre towel, and spray Optase protection mist all over my face—this is a spray designed for eyes, but since it contains hypochlorous acid, it’s a nice dupe for the Tower28 SOS spray for those in the UK and helps keep acne away.
Step 1.5: I steam, mask or massage.
Tumblr media
Midway through my cleansing routine, when my makeup is removed but I haven’t yet begun my cream cleanser, I usually either apply a mask or do a facial massage. I massage four times a week, using a steamer and pure sea buckthorn oil; it’s an intense massage, lasting about 15–20 minutes, and I use my hands as well as a cupping set and gua sha. On the other days I use wash-off masks: the Herbivore peel followed by the SkinCeuticals mask; the Skin1004 pack; and the Peter Thomas Roth mask—and then I continue with my cleansing routine to remove the mask and clean my face.
Step 2: I apply toner and serum.
Tumblr media
The first product I apply is the Reedle Shot, which I use at the lowest dosage (50) so that I can use it every night. I use the Francoise toner as a first essence, and pat it into my skin with the Unicharm pads, which are soft and, I find, don’t absorb product, so it all goes into my skin instead. I pat on the Mary and May essence, too, which is thicker and better for nighttime. Once my toners are all soaked into my skin, I prep it with Sulwhasoo’s First Care serum and then apply Beauty of Joseon’s Glow Deep serum with my hands.
Step 3: I treat my face, moisturise, and massage.
Tumblr media
I apply 20% niacinamide from the Inkey List before I apply my Dermatica prescription, and I let that all sink in before I moisturise with Cicaplast and Mary and May’s blackberry cream. If I’m using a sheet mask that night, I gua sha without oil, but on other nights, I mix up 5 drops of A. Florence’s oil with 3 drops of rosehip oil and 2 drops of sea buckthorn, and massage that into my face with my hands and gua sha for 5 minutes.
Step 4: I mask.
Tumblr media
Three nights per week, I use an overnight gel sheet mask (either BioDance or DermAll), which I cover with a silicone sheet before using my Charlotte Tilbury ice mask for some overnight cold therapy. On other nights, I apply the Superberry sleeping mask from Youth to the People and use a modelling mask for 15 minutes, then slug lightly with a thin layer of Bepanthen ointment.
Step 5: I spot treat.
Tumblr media
Finally, I use my Revitalash serum on my eyelashes and spot treat in line with the type of skin concern I might have at the time. I find that different types and stages of spots etc. require different solutions—the products above don’t constitute my entire line of defence but are my most often deployed!

what does thermal water do? is it just a facial mist? thank you!
eh. avène and other brands like la roche-posay, founded in or near spa towns in europe, like to tout the benefits of thermal water for your health. a lot of this is empirical folk wisdom about the healing powers of a holiday at an idyllic mountain retreat, but recently some research suggests that the minerals in such waters may help combat inflammation, which is coherent with how a lot of products from these brands position themselves, i.e., adequate for eczema, sensitive skin, etc. etc.
thermal water just by itself mainly just wets your face, though. and while it may seem counterintuitive, water in and of itself is not hydrating, especially if your skin barrier is compromised; it can actually increase the rate of moisture evaporation from your skin (TEWL, or trans-epidermal water loss). a good formulation should include ingredients that help your skin hold onto water, like humectants (water-holding molecules), moisturizers (skin-softening and barrier-rebuilding), and occlusives (waterproofing substances that hold moisture in).
so, thermal water in and of itself, as a face mist, is merely a refreshing spritz for summer days. don’t expect it to do much for your skin otherwise.

my new skincare regimen whipped my face into shape in 10 days so Here it is: (i have acne prone skin w/ a healthy dose of texture and rosacea, combination skin too, also super sensitive yay!!)
i've been screaming inside for years because i’m sick of having red, angry, zit-littered skin and my makeup looking cakey whenever i put it on, and my face being oily during the day, etc, so i set this strict Process and almost two weeks later i have significantly clearer skin and no active breakouts (and i’m on my period), the redness pretty much only comes out to play when i’m touching my face (aka during this routine), all the products are super gentle and none of them feel remotely heavy (except the night cream is thicker, but that’s normal). i don’t feel like i have a whole layer of products on my face like i did when i was packing on stuff to tighten my pores and heavily moisturizing during the day.
morning: 10 minutes
caudalie: mousse nettoyante fleur de vigne (this is an odorless foam that i use literally one pump of and wash my face. it feels like nothing but it’s way better than an exfoliating cleanser in the morning for me)
melvita: rose water (on one cotton pad, all over face and neck)
melvita: lavender water spray (this one i spray directly onto my face and just give these two waters a chance to settle onto my skin, i don’t towel dry the face except after washing it)
caudalie: vinosource -moisturizing sorbet- (about a dime sized amount. this is very light) MIXED WITH
bioderma: matifying fluid sunscreen w/ SPF 30 (just a DROP) if i’m putting on makeup i’ll probably wait 5-10 minutes, but this moisturizer + sunscreen mix works perfectly as a primer for me
night: 10-15 minutes + wait for last step
bioderma: micellar water to take off makeup (i usually use two cotton pads, one for each side of my face) if i haven’t worn makeup that day i do this anyway using one pad to get the gross day off my face
caudalie cleanser again
avène: gentle toning lotion (it’s not a lotion, it’s a kind of opaque water formula. you shake it up and again use on a cotton pad over face and neck. it’s odorless, doesn’t sting, and doesn’t have any of the super tightening alcoholyness of other toners i’ve used) fan face till it’s dry
rose water
lavender spray (i also use this in the summer once i come inside after being in the sun just so it calms my skin down)
dior: redness soother serum (one drop spread over fingertips and over the face while it’s still slightly moist. this is cooling and odorless)
melvita: carrot oil (about 1.5 pumps, all over face once the face is dry. this helps with scarring and don’t worry it doesn’t make your face look orange. don’t use essential oil!!! it’s too concentrated!!) three days out of seven
nuxe: huile prodigieuse (this is a mixture of oils you can use on your skin and also in your hair, it has a nice but not strong smell) i use this on dry looking hair ends, after i shave my legs, and also as perfume sometimes. i use this three nights a week, alternating with the carrot oil.
dermorens: creme de nuit thermale (a night cream for sensitive skin) i use this when the oil is more or less absorbed into the skin, mostly i just do this a couple minutes before going to bed. it is odorless, you only need a dime sized amount)
one night a week i didn’t use oil, just the night cream.
i only take a shower like 2-3 times a week and in there i’ll use a clarins orange exfoliating face wash (you need a PENNY sized amount). it smells nice and is a gentle exfoliant.
i don’t know what i’m doing right, but i think because of using the oil at night and a light moisturizer during the day my face isn’t oily at all during the day. during that coconut oil craze i was like OK YEAH OILS ARE GOOD FOR YOUR SKIN BUT WHY IS MY SKIN STILL OILY FOLKS. but the ones i’ve used are really light (by the morning when i use that foam cleanser again there’s no struggle against like scrubbing the lotion and oil off from the night before) also, i use the nuxe oil on my face year round, even in the summer. i think the oil during the night acts as a helpful moisturizer during the day without reapplying.
all of the products above cost probably a total of 60 euros (but i bought them over time) and the dior serum was expensive, an impulse buy, and actually works, so i’m not mad at it, although i don’t know if i’ll buy it again. luckily you literally only use one drop at a time, and they give you quite a bit of product, so it lasts a long time.
anyway idk i’m just geeking out over skincare now but france has taught me that the simplest products are generally the most effective. when i was a teenager i was into using clearasil, cetaphil, all these harsh oil-free things with big promises, and even got a chemical burn from a grapefruit face wash from neutrogena which was supposed to be gentle...honestly those products were expensive and always ended up making my face feel stripped of everything, which i thought was a good feeling, but with the foam cleanser i’m realizing i’d rather my face felt fresh and clean, not tight and stinging.
bleh. i’m also aware these products probably aren’t available everywhere, but i don’t know...

Protetor Solar via oral: Astaxantina

Are there any body oil cleansers/oil to foam cleansers that you know of and would recommend? I recently bought the glossier body hero oil wash and I love it for my dry skin but it’s so expensive for such a small bottle... please let me know if you have any suggestions, your opinion carries a lot of weight in my mind. Thank you :)
Ooooh, I do really want the Glossier Body Hero Oil Wash; I tried it at their showroom and loved it.
I’m a dedicated Lushie, so nearly all my body washes have been Lush for the past few years. However, there are a couple oil body washes I know of. I will say that the Glossier is actually pretty affordable at $18 for 250ml, and it smells nice. If you choose to shop at Glossier, you can get an extra 10% off with my link. So that’s like $16.20.
Cetaphil In-Shower Moisturizing Oil- $12.88 for 500ml
Avène XeraCalm A.D Lipid-Replenishing Cleansing Oil- $30 for 400ml
Nuxe Prodigieux Shower Oil- $15 for 198ml
Boots No. 7 Luxurious Foaming Shower Oil- $8 for 201ml
Jason Foaming Shower Oil- $11 for 295ml
etc. etc.

14 Questions You Might Be Afraid to Ask About best body wash for dry skin reddit
How To Make Natural Organic Soap
Tumblr media
If you eat organic and healthy with a lot of variety including fish, you may need to take a combination of Omega-3, Omega-6 and Omega-9. Most dry skin comes from the inside due to lack of ingesting healthy oils/fats, not a lack of moisture on the outside. Body washes with plenty of active ingredients designed to add moisture (such a glycerin) are the way to go, and here is a list 5 of the best for your skin care routine. It also has aloe, glycerin, and jojoba oil to moisturize your skin, making it smooth to the touch, restoring it to its natural texture.
By continuously washing your baby, you can remove these oils from the skin which will cause the moisture to leave, which will almost always result in dry and cracked skin. To put that into perspective, it’s estimated that over 85% of all skincare products contain paraben. When you think about it, this is really scary stuff, and I definitely don’t want these chemicals on my baby’s skin or anywhere near them.
For this reason, it is crucial to choose soft and best baby wash, specially formulated products for cleaning instead of reaching for the ones you use in the shower. The integumentary system (Which comprises skin, hair, nails, etc).

Best Body Wash for Women Overall
Bentley Lavender Body Wash is great for my sensitive skin, this is the first and only organic body wash I have tried and I have no need to try any others. All of the food products that go into making Truly Organic’s body wash are USDA-certified organic. My choices for natural body wash usually include brands that use mostly USDA-certified organic ingredients. If the company hasn’t gone through the rigorous and expensive process of becoming certified, I want to see wild-crafted ingredients. All our hand sanitisers are free from petroleum derived, synthetic and hormone-disrupting chemicals.
SkyOrganics 100% Pure African Black Soap Moisturizing Body Wash
In addition to liquid hand soap, Puracy provides refill packs for our entire line of sustainable products. Because Puracy refill packs use 90% less plastic, water, and energy compared to bottles, we’ve been able to save more than 200 tons of plastic from entering our environment. Plaine Products has combined the healing properties of rosemary, a fresh minty scent and a hint of vanilla to create a fabulous body wash. Plus, most of them were packaged in plastic and full of questionable ingredients.
The Everyone Soap comes in a variety of scents including coconut and lemon.
Mrs. Meyer’s Clean Day Body Wash wins the best budget pick for being the most affordable.
Besides that, you get a pretty by-the-numbers wash that does a solid job moisturizing and nourishing the skin.
Formulated with vegetable-derived soap substitutes, it cleans thoroughly without stripping skin of its natural oils.
The 4th millennium BCE would witness the invention of clay pipes, sewers, and toilets, in Mesopotamia, with the city of Uruk today exhibiting the earliest known internal pit toilet, from c.3200 BCE. In Mohenjo-Daro (c. 2800 BC), toilets were built into the outer walls of homes.[citation needed] These toilets had vertical chutes, via which waste was disposed of into cesspits or street drains. There are toilets on the market where the seats have integrated spray mechanisms for anal and genital water sprays (see for example Toilets in Japan). The portable toilet is used on construction sites, film locations, and large outdoor gatherings where there are no other facilities. Most portable toilets are unisex single units with privacy ensured by a simple lock on the door.
Moisturizers are generally mixtures of oil (or waxes) and water, and for a good reason — your skin needs both to look good. Oils prevent the applied moisture from evaporating from your skin. Clay is one of the best natural ways to cleanse and purify the skin.
Best Gel-Based Body Wash: Avène TriXera Nutrition Nutri-Fluid Cleanser
If you’ve switched to using natural soaps or solid shampoo/conditioner bars, you’re going to want to get your hands on a soap dish. They’re the best way to store your soap or shampoo bars, ensuring they dry quickly after use thus extending their lifetime. Pair your soaps with a eco-friendly soap dish, such as our coconut shell soap dishes. My most important realization was — HOLY COW — so many products sold in stores are bottled in plastic. This is not to say it's a bad product — just not one meant for those with sensitive skin.
No more nasties: Natural and organic beauty
Developed by doctors, Puracy’s Natural Body Wash is definitely one of the best formulas out there. From improving your natural pH balance to nourishing your skin directly on contact, this body wash is able to give you noticeable results after the very first use. This can lead to dryness, bacterial growth, and an imbalance in the pH levels of your skin.
The base ingredients are hemp seed oil, glycerin, coconut oil, citric acid, olive oil, Vitamin E, and water, that’s it. Different scents have different focus ingredients like Tea Tree oil, Peppermint, Lavender, Hemp Almond, Rose, Eucalyptus, and Citrus Orange.
Best All-Organic Baby Shampoo & Body Wash
A reviewer who can't tolerate scented products says this fragrance-free body wash is the perfect solution. Naturally moisturize and get squeaky clean without stripping your natural oils. Infuse your skin with the goodness https://drive.google.com/file/d/1nZefY7gDue0uOaeqE9WGVaU3LDqiBJgC/view?usp=sharing of Shea Butter, Neem, and Coconut Oil, all of which heal, soothe and soften skin. This shower gel foams up to get you super fresh and clean with the refreshing scent of Spearmint, zesty Orange and Bergamot (a citrusy scented essential oil).

We all have our skincare strengths and weaknesses . I'd say you probably have something you love about your skin and something that annoys you to no end. And if you're perfectly fine with your perfect skin, I am in awe. For me, I like to think I've been blessed with very rare breakouts or blemishes , but I've been cursed with dry and sensitive skin . I've had eczema since I was a baby and get especially bad flare-ups on my hands. Aside from the eczema, my skin is generally dry. About 85% of the time, I've got some dry spot happening somewhere on my body. Currently, I'm battling a dry patch on my face and a slight eczema flare-up on my palms. In fact, ever since I moved back to Los Angeles after a 12-year stint in New York City, my face has been continuously dry. It's a conundrum I just can't figure out. I've tried so many lotions, creams, ointments, masks, etc., throughout the years, so I like to think I'm pretty well-versed in what works for me and what doesn't. And for the times when I don't turn to my prescription steroid creams and ointments for my eczema, I have a few over-the-counter favorites. But for more information about using ointments to heal dry skin, I turned to dermatologist Heather Rogers, MD, founder and CEO of Doctor Rogers Restore  and co-founder of Modern Dermatology in Seattle, for some tips. "When skin is dry, the barrier is not intact, making the skin less able to keep chemicals out and hydration/water in," Rogers explains. "For your skin to heal, the water level must be maintained. This is why greasy ointments are so helpful. They provide a protective layer over the healing skin to keep the water in your skin from evaporating." When it comes to choosing an ointment, Rogers says you should look for simple, minimal ingredients. "Since ointments are made to protect and heal severely dry and damaged skin, you want it to be free of common causes of irritation," she says. "When your skin is damaged, it will absorb more of the chemicals from the products you apply, thus increasing the risk of allergy or irritation. My advice is to keep your ointments simple, especially when it comes to ingredients. Look out for ointments with the shortest, purest ingredient lists and avoid common allergens." While applying the ointment straight up is the best way to treat dry skin, Rogers says that you can also mix the ointment into your moisturizer, which helps if you are washing your hands a lot and are experiencing dryness. She adds that it will increase the moisturizer's hydrating power while making the ointment less sticky: "After I wash my hands, I apply a mixture of 50% Vanicream and 50% Doctor Rogers Restore Healing Balm on my hands, and then I use a tissue to blot my fingertips so I can use them as the product sinks in." So now that we have the basics down, it's time to find an ointment that works for you. Take a look at our favorites below (and some salves, too). Rogers's balm is 100% plant-based and can treat a variety of skin problems, like eczema symptoms, dryness, chapped lips, and burns. "I often recommend people apply my Healing Balm to their areas of concern before bed and then sleep in gloves, socks, or tight-fitting clothes to keep the ointment in place," she says. "After lasering, I have patients apply my balm and then a face mask to expedite the healing process." CeraVe's ointment contains hyaluronic acid to retain moisture, and it doesn't have a greasy feel. Apply to any dry or cracked spots on your body. A few years ago, my dermatologist gave me a bunch of samples of these tubes and told me to apply it throughout the day in between using my prescription ointments. I put them in practically every bag I own, and I still buy them in bulk. It really helps keep my hands moisturized, especially after washing them. I'm a big fan of Vanicream's moisturizer because it doesn't contain any ingredients that irritate my sensitive skin. And I have the same feelings toward the brand's ointment. It's helpful for skin conditions or concerns like dryness, itchiness, psoriasis, and eczema. This ointment is formulated to heal minor cuts, scrapes, burns, and improve your skin barrier. Plus, it leaves your skin extra moisturized. Made with plant oils like lavender, geranium, and blue tansy, this balm also works some aromatherapy magic. It's good for all skin types, too. The all-purpose ointment also has colloidal oatmeal for some sweet relief. It's paraben-, phthalate-, sulfate-, and mineral oil–free. Use it on your lips cheeks, body, hands, and feet to treat rashes, dry spots, and irritation. I was introduced to Lucas' Papaw by a makeup artist on a shoot a few years ago, and it's become a staple in my makeup bag (and in my handbag, car, office desk…). I use it to moisturize dry, cracked lips and on any dry spots like my elbows. And for those who don't know, papaw equals papaya. Apply this balm to your face at night, and it will work its magic while you sleep. It will help with dryness, dullness, and redness. The formula includes oils (olive, almond, borage, linseed) to leave your skin hydrated. This ointment is made of a blend of essential oils, vitamin E, and herbal extracts. It's good for your face and body and even works well to moisturize cuticles. If you're experiencing inflammation, this ointment might be the solution for you. Key ingredients include antioxidants, vitamin E, essential oils, castor oil, and olive oil. You can also use it to treat sunburns and razor burn. The honey in this salve provides moisture and antioxidants to your skin. It's safe to apply just about anywhere on your body, from your lips to cuticles to legs to elbows. You can even use it as a brow gel or to keep your flyways under control. For constantly dried-out hands, this salve from Kiehl's can protect and repair. It's specifically formulated for people who do a lot of work with their hands. This ointment gives you 24 hours of protection as it locks in moisture and is a defense against nature's drying elements, like wind and brisk temperatures. It also works on cuts, scrapes, and burns. Dry, cracked skin can feel so painful. This salve will help heal and moisturize it. It contains medicated soap, lanolin, and Vaseline, along with plant-based ingredients like eucalyptus, lavender, and rosemary. I've used this balm for my eczema before, and it's one of my picks because it really stops my skin from feeling so itchy. You can apply it on your face or body, wherever you're experiencing dryness or an eczema flare-up. Avène's balm is formulated for eczema, but it also works to treat redness, psoriasis, irritated skin, and dryness. Thermal spring water is another ingredient in the balm that is supposed to have soothing and calming properties. Ingredients in this salve include colloidal oatmeal, hemp seed oil, and avocado oil, which all work to calm, relieve, and hydrate skin. It's okay to use it all over your body and even to smooth your eyebrows and hair. Use this ointment on dry spots all over your body to heal and seal in moisturize. It's also baby-friendly. If it's good enough for the cows, I guess it's good for us. Bag Balm has been used by farmers to keep their cows' udders from getting chapped. This one's a favorite in our office. Our editors use it for dry and chapped lips, but you can use it on your hands and feet and for minor cuts and burns. This multipurpose balm can be used to moisturize your face and even over acne spot treatments. It will soothe redness and irritation while strengthening your skin's barrier. Goodbye, discomfort. This rich balm will soften and smooth irritated and dry skin quickly. Key ingredients include panthenol (a vitamin B complex), shea butter, and glycerin. Next up, we have celeb facialists on speed dial—these are the retinol serums they love.

thoughts on the brand omorovicza?
it’s a typical european luxury spa brand, using water from thermal springs like many others (avène, la roche-posay, etc.) as their trademark Special Thing. i’ve only used a cleanser of theirs that i got in a sample size from a lookfantastic beauty box, and it was fine, but nothing particularly impressive. their ingredients are alright, as are the formulations, but again, it doesn’t justify the price in my view.
i don’t think you need to pay that price point to get products at their level of effectiveness at all, but then again, that’s the case for most luxury brands: if you have the cash to splash, go ahead, but don’t expect miracles. the appeal is in the branding, the packaging, the “queen of hungary” vibes, not necessarily in the effect on your skin.

Hi hi :D any advice for treating sunburns?? Especially on face?? ((idk if canada weather is hot enough for sunburns yet but sourthern california is kinda burning at the moment))
id recommend using a sunblock to prevent them in the first place, something that blocks uva and uvb rays you’re not doing yourself any favours by not using that.
but aloe vera gel is generally a good thing for sunburns and some brands like avène (the brand i always recommend tbh) have after sun repair milks/lotions/gels etc that have soothing properties and help restore the skin’s vitality and stuff. usually they’re safe for face and body!

Just dropped basically €95 on moisturizers and I haven't even stocked up on them, this is all every day use stuff for the next couple of months, and I still have to get to soaps/shampoos/body washes... I need to go lay down a minute 😭
I'm trying out Avène again since last time I used it I had the Trixera cream but it's a little bit too light so I just went and bought both the cream and balm of the Xeracalm line. I'm going to use them both on different zones, thicker balm on flare up zones like eyes and my whole neck+chest area etc, and generally drier zones and the cream for the rest of the body, my face when I feel the balm is clogging it too much and when I need some extra applying or 4 during the day. And I bought a big jar of Aquaphor ointment, I was debating between that and Vaseline as a sealant but Aquaphor comes in a bigger jar so it won out this round. And since the weather is getting warmer and sometimes I get those moment where I feel I'm overhearing and tingling I added one of those calming sprays, it's godsent when kept in the fridge for these occasions. And it's usually not just water so not as drying as just putting my face in the sink (and it can be applied more often than cream in these occasions cause it's not something that builds up or has to sit there and be absorbed for too long).
I ended up not buying any of those tinier heavy duty creams for acute phases of atopic dermatitis because I've reached my spending limit today lol. And I have some Advantan left to help calm my skin this round.
Let's see how my skin fares. Will write updates later.

Lumene Nordic chic sheer finish loose powder Translucent (179 SEK).
Avène Anti-Redness Moisturizing Cream SPF 20 (167 SEK- 225 SEK).
Lumene Blur 16h Longwear foundation SPF 15 0 Light Ivory (189 SEK).
Vore dumt annars.

Do you double cleanse? If yes, then cleansing balms/oils must be your favourite. I never thought I might try a traditional makeup removing cream but when I came across Avene 3 in 1 makeup remover, I instantly thought of purchasing. Read on to know my thoughts on it.
What is double cleansing?  As the name suggests, double cleansing involves 2 steps.
Makeup/sunscreen removing
Following it up with a cleanser/facewash
Double cleansing is not just for those who apply makeup. A face wash is not capable of washing away sunscreen or pollution entirely. As a result of which the pores clog and result in acne. Double cleansing not only removes makeup & sunscreen but also helps in removing pollution/dirt particles from the skin. A face wash is used to remove any leftovers after that.
One can use micellar water, makeup removing creams, oils, balms, etc for a double cleanse.
Coming to the product: Avene 3 in 1 makeup remover retails for Rs.1050 and we get 100ml product. It has a shelf life of 3 years and needs to be finished within 6 months of opening the cap. I got mine from Nykaa.com.
To purchase click here.*
The first and the star ingredient in Avène products is Thermal spring water which has therapeutic properties and soothes irritated skin, allergic conditions and fades away blemishes.
Avene 3 in 1 makeup remover comes in a tube packaging with a leakproof cap. The packaging is apt and travel-friendly. The texture of it is creamy-lotion like, on the runnier side. A coin-sized amount is needed for the entire face. It has a signature Avene fragrance (which many of its products have).
3 in 1 claim stands for Cleanses, removes makeup, soothes face & eyes.
How to use? Well! That is the biggest question because it is mentioned nowhere! I had to do a few trial and errors before arriving at the correct method. You need to apply Avene 3 in 1 makeup remover on dry face and massage it in circular motions. This will start melting the makeup and once you are done massaging, wipe it off with a towel/wet wipe. Majority makeup comes off easily this way and then it needs to be followed up with a face wash. (This doesn’t emulsify. Don’t even try to remove it with water! You’ll be left with a greasy face in the end).
This isn’t a stand-alone product. You’ll need to wash it off with a face wash irrespective of the skin type and amount of makeup/skincare you apply.

Stubborn makeup
Some Avene 3 in 1 makeup remover
Massaging for some time
Just one swipe with a wet wipe
My verdict on  Avene 3 in 1 makeup remover:
This makeup remover impresses me at some places and woes me at another. I love how this gets rid of the base makeup and skincare effortlessly. There’s no need to tug and rub the wet wipe to remove makeup. But, this doesn’t work well for eyes. My eyes stung like hell whenever I used Avene 3 in 1 makeup remover to remove eye makeup. Also, it is not powerful enough to completely remove waterproof mascara and liner. The good thing is it doesn’t irritate my skin or clogs my pores as I haven’t broken out a single time after using this. I am still not sure whether or not to recommend this product. It works nicely for base makeup though. You can always give it a try.
Concluding my thoughts here. I hope you liked my review and if you did, do consider subscribing to my blog. Show some love by liking, sharing and commenting your views/thoughts. Until next time, stay beautiful & keep smiling!
