Deux nouvelles souches de grippe A pour le vaccin antigrippal 2019-2020 (OMS)

L'Organisation mondiale de la santé (OMS) a formulé jeudi ses recommandations pour la composition du vaccin contre la grippe 2019-2020 destiné à l'hémisphère Nord, et préconise le changement des deux souches de grippe A.

L'agence sanitaire recommande pour la saison 2019-2020 un vaccin antigrippal quadrivalent comprenant les souches:

A/Brisbane/02/2018 (H1N1)pdm09,

A/Kansas/14/2017 (H3N2),

B/Colorado/06/2017 (lignée Victoria/2/87),

B/Phuket/3073/2013 (lignée Yamagata/16/88).

Les deux souches de grippe B restent ainsi identiques à celles recommandées pour la saison 2018-2019, note-t-on (cf dépêche du 23/02/2018 à 12:10). Les souches de grippe A contenues dans le vaccin 2018-2019 étaient A/Michigan/45/2015 (H1N1)pdm09 et A/Singapore/INFIMH-16-0019/2016 (H3N2).

Pour les vaccins trivalents, qui ne comportent qu'une seule souche de grippe B, l'OMS recommande l'utilisation de la souche B/Colorado/06/2017 (lignée Victoria/2/87).

Les vaccins mis à disposition en métropole dans le cadre de la campagne de vaccination antigrippale 2018-2019 étaient essentiellement des vaccins quadrivalents, rappelle-t-on (cf dépêche du 18/12/2018 à 11:20 et dépêche du 04/01/2019 à 14:29).

Alors que cette saison hivernale a été marquée par la circulation quasi exclusive de virus de type A, que ce soit en France ou en Europe (cf dépêche du 20/03/2019 à 12:59), des données préliminaires diffusées mercredi par Santé publique France indiquent que l'efficacité vaccinale chez l'ensemble des personnes à risque serait de 31% contre le virus A(H3N2) et de 67% contre le virus A(H1N1)pdm09. Au niveau européen, l'efficacité vaccinale tous virus confondus est de 59% chez l'ensemble des personnes à risque.
