Everything You Need to Know About Driving Licences in India: A Quick Guide
In today’s digital-first world, verifying identity has become more important than ever. One crucial but often overlooked document is your driving license—a legal permit to drive and a valid proof of identity. Whether you’re hiring drivers, issuing vehicle loans, or screening candidates, driving license verification is an essential step to ensure compliance and reduce fraud.

What Is Driving License Verification?
Driving license verification is the process of authenticating the validity and details of a driver's licence using official government databases, primarily those maintained by the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH) and state-level Regional Transport Offices (RTOs). It helps individuals, employers, and businesses confirm that:
The licence is genuine
The holder is authorised to drive certain vehicle classes
The licence is still valid and not suspended or expired
Types of Driving Licences in India
Before verifying, it's useful to know the types of licences issued:
Learner’s Licence: A temporary permit for new drivers
Permanent Driving Licence: Issued after passing the driving test
Commercial Driving Licence: Required for heavy or transport vehicles
International Driving Permit: For those driving abroad
Each licence comes with unique details such as vehicle class, issue/expiry date, and a unique DL number.
Why Is Driving License Verification Important?
For businesses, especially those in logistics, fleet management, and gig economy platforms, driving license verification plays a critical role in ensuring road safety and regulatory compliance.
Here’s how it's used:
Background verification for driver hiring
KYC and underwriting in vehicle finance and insurance
Prevention of fraud using fake or duplicate licences
Checking licence status, such as suspensions or blacklisting
How OnGrid Supports Driving License Verification
Leading verification platforms like OnGrid offer fast, accurate, and API-integrated driving license verification services. With OnGrid, you can:
Instantly verify licence details
Detect fake or tampered licences
Confirm vehicle category authorization
Integrate verifications into digital onboarding flows
This not only improves operational efficiency but also enhances trust and safety.
Renewal and Validity
Driving licences in India are valid for 20 years or until the holder turns 50, whichever comes first. Verifying expiry status during background checks is crucial to avoid compliance issues or liability.
Final Thoughts
Whether you’re an employer hiring a delivery driver or a lender disbursing a vehicle loan, driving license verification ensures you're dealing with genuine individuals. It’s a small but vital step in fraud prevention and public safety.🔗 Learn more in our complete guide here: Know Your Driving License – Complete Guide

My message on Discord's new UI
"I have visual snow syndrome, a symptom of visual snow syndrome is that white text on a very dark background can cause afterimages. You know screen burn? Imagine screen burn in your eyes, where whatever you were looking at is stuck there for up to an hour. Light mode is physically painful and dark mode is disabling. Your new changes are an accessibility nightmare and have made the app fully unusable for me. And that's not even mentioning the fact that a lot of the changes you made to the app are absolutely awful, convoluted and just plain stupid for ease of use. I know companies love to pull the "well we know every single tester has hated it, but we spent a lot of money redesigning it so we're doing it anyway!" card. But this isn't the logo, this isn't the blue, this isn't minor changes you'll stop noticing after a while. This is a huge overhaul that is again AN ACCESSIBILITY NIGHTMARE! Cut your losses and listen to your audience because I'm seeing a lot of people posting API alternatives to Discord in other servers and Reddit. People will not be using your app. Do better. Discord mobile is fully unusable to me until you make changes, I physically cannot look at the text anymore. Please fix it and do the smart thing."
I downloaded the last APK file for Discord before the change, but this is genuinely disheartening. Discord is actively refusing to even read genuine complaints, telling people 'Well this is how it is now'. Much like Tumblr.
Please send feedback on the Discord app as well as on the store pages! Please let them know this isn't the same as just changing the icon or the colour of their blue. This is an actual accessibility issue!
I will admit though, the ONE good thing about the change is the new Media feature while searching chats, but it's completely overshadowed by everything else and the lack of pages (only infinite scroll) makes it difficult to find things.

The EctoMoog "Vanilla" Experience
Updated for 1.21.5
Back for 2025! with some big changes and additions with the newest iteration of my "Vanilla" experience. These are the mods and resource packs that I use when I want clean, Vanilla gameplay👇
Below I'll go through the mods, shaders and resource packs that I use, by category, highlighting the most important ones. The jury is out on whether all of these are truly vanilla in spirit, but I'll leave that up to you.
Mods
If you're a Modrinth user, you can find almost all of these mods (bar BetterF3, Cupboard, Vanilla tweaks and the hacks) in my collection, but each resource I mention will have a link so you can find it.
Note: Mods that are marked with an ❌ aren't updated to 1.21.5 yet, but once they are I will reinstall them, so I thought they'd be worth including.
Mod Loader - Fabric
To start with - I'm a tried and true Fabric loyalist- all of these mods are for Fabric, and I have no idea if you can get them for Forge. I have two mods to support Fabric:
Fabric API - API for Fabric
Fabric Language Kotlin - This allows Fabric mods to use the Kotlin programming language (at this moment, only Zoomify (see below) requires this)
Cosmetic
These are the most exciting ones, the mods that change the look of the game.
AppleSkin - This adds extra UI details around food, like saturation visualisers, regen visualisers and tooltips for food items.
BetterF3 - This mod improves the F3 menu, allowing you to customise it extensively, colour-coding and organising modules.
Chat Heads - This adds player head icons in chat, which is fun.

Image from Chat Heads Modrinth page.
Continuity - This allows for and includes a datapack that adds connected textures.
Distant Horizons - This is probably the coolest mod on this list. Distant Horizons "adds simplified terrain past Minecraft's default view distance to improve performance and allow for longer draw distances." This means you can increase your render distance wayyyy more with way less impact on your machine. It's compatible with a lot of shaders, and it just looks amazing.
Lamb Dynamic Lights - One of many mods that re-add Optifine features, this mod adds dynamic lighting for items and entities that didn't already emit light. Essential for caving!
Iris Shaders - This is an essential, classic open-source shader mod that's more customisable than Optifine. See the shaders I use below.
MiniHUD - Adds a small customisable heads up display in the corner of the screen- I like to have my cardinal direction, fps and coords for quick reference. Love this mod.
OrthoCamera - Adds a third person view with an orthographic perspective to the game. I use this ALL the time when planning big builds, and it makes for some really cool screenshots.
Shulker Box Tooltip - This allows you to see the contents of your Shulker Box through a tooltip in your inventory.
Visuality - This mod adds plenty of vanilla feeling particles to the game.
GIF from Visuality Modrinth page.
Zoomify - This is my favourite zoom mod, it zooms really far and its pretty customisable.
Experience
These are the mods that make the gameplay experience just a little bit nicer.
Ambient Sounds - This adds extra ambience to the world, like bird sounds, the wind, the ocean, night sounds- it's subtle, but is genuinely incredibly immersive.
Debugify - This mod fixes over 70 bugs listed in the Minecraft bug tracker.
FastQuit - This allows the you to quit your world instantly, while it saves in the background. A nice time saver.
Mod Menu - This is an extremely useful mod that adds a menu to see and configure mods while in-game.

Image from Mod Menu Modrinth page.
Sound Physics Remastered - This mod provides realistic sound attenuation, reverberation, and absorption through blocks. This includes echoing in caves which is very fun.
Performance
These mods improve the horrible performance of the base game. I'm not a programmer so I really can't explain them, but they work pretty well for me. I think.
Sodium - This is your basic optimisation mod. If you only use one of these mods, use this one.
Reese's Sodium Options - This adds a better video settings menu to customise Sodium options.
Image from Reese's Sodium Options Modrinth page.
Better Beds - This fixes bed rendering performance by removing the block entity renderer and replaces it with the default Minecraft model entity renderer.
Bobby - This allows the game to render pre-loaded chunks beyond server render distance cap.
Dynamic FPS - This allows FPS to drop as low as you'd like when the game is running in the background.
Entity Culling - This incorporates smarter entity culling.
FerriteCore - This reduces memory usage.
Hold That Chunk - This incorporates smarter chunk loading by loading and unloading chunks by distance from the player, rather than by chunk unload packets from the server, which can be inefficient on high traffic servers.
ImmediatelyFast - This incorporates better rendering.
Krypton - Optimises the networking stack.
Lithium - This is a general optimiser.
❌ ModernFix - Improves performance and fixes bugs.
More Culling - Improves culling all round.
Noisium - This speeds up world generation.
Particle Rain - This improves the look of weather with updated particle effects.
Libraries and APIs
Cloth Config API - A config screen API.
MaLiLib - Library mod.
YetAnotherConfigLib (YACL) - A config library (required by Zoomify and Particle Rain)
Shaders
I'm very fussy with shaders, and most of the time I don't use any, but when I do I go for these three.
Note: all of these require Iris to function (see above).
BSL Shaders
Complimentary Shaders Reimagined
Complimentary Shaders Unbound - Similar to CSRI
Resource Packs
Vanilla Tweaks - This is a resource pack designer that allows you to pick and choose from a variety of tweaks to the visuals and sounds of the game, in part developed by xisumavoid. Here's every tweak I've chosen:
GUI - No Panorama Overlay, Coloured Ping Overlay, Clearer Wither Hearts, Numbered Hotbar, Dark UI
Fixes and Consistency - Item Stitching Fix, Updated Observer Texture, Corrected Item Holding
Retro - Classic Minecraft Logo
Unobtrusive - Borderless Glass, Lower Fire, Lower Shield, Translucent Pumpkin Overlay
Utility - Visual Note Block Pitch, Directional Hoppers
Peace and Quiet - Quieter Rain, Quieter Nether Portals, Quieter Fire, Quieter Minecarts
Connected Textures - Connected Bookshelves
Variation - Variated Dirt, Variated Coarse Dirt, Variated Cobblestone, Variated Moss, Variated Bricks, Variated Birch Logs, Variated Red Mushroom Blocks, Variated Nylium, Variated End Stone, Variated Gravel, Variated Mycelium, Variated Unpolished Stones, Variated Terracotta, Variated Stone, Variated Planks, Variated Grass
Terrain - Lower Mycelium, Lower Grass Paths, Lower Crimson Nylium, Lower Snow, Lower Podzol, Lower Warped Nylium, Darker Dark Oak Leaves, Golden Savanna, Circular Sun and Moon, Twinkling Stars, Circular Log Tops, Shorter Tall Grass, Shorter Short Grass, Lower Grass
Aesthetic - Cherry Picking, Vertical Nuggets, Brown Leather, Red Iron Golem Flowers, Animated Campfire Items, Moss Carpet Overhang
Dark UI and numbered hotbar
Classic Minecraft Logo
Lower Fire
Visual Note Block Pitch
Bare Bones - This is a texture pack that (when used with the right BSL settings) makes the game look like the Minecraft update trailers. I only use this occasionally, but it does look really great.
Bare Bones - Better Leaves - Improves the leaves with Bare Bones.
Bare Bones Boys
The End
And that's it! All of these are very subject to change, and I'll probably add and remove a lot of these in the future, but those are the mods I'm playing with right now, and I'm quite happy with them. See you in a year when I have to update all of these haha.

Ok, so I've made two prototypes for the dress up games I am planning to publish to my neocities site.
First one just stores dresses and shoes in an array and overlays them as u click on the arrows. The assets were made by @v4mp1r3fr34k and the background was taken with Nokia Express Music <3
Second one has actual drag'n'drop. I didn't have any assets for it so I just took the first royalty free pngs I could find XD It will not stay like this, tho I am glad the vintage babe is enjoying the club. I made it with just HTML Drag and Drop API. As you drop it, it snaps into place thanks to appendChild method, which I learned about reading the d'n'd docs yesterday. I was afraid I was going to have to track the x,y positions of the elements on screen, but thank god appendChild solved that for me XD
I'll try to make them responsive as possible ;_; I'll also try to make the previous ads responsive cuz some people in my life are peer pressuring me...

Key Highlights of WWDC 2025 and iOS 26 Rumors
What Made WWDC 2025 Different from Years Past?
WWDC 2025 was a major milestone event, ushering in a new chapter of Apple’s software ecosystem. Aside from a major visual redesign, Apple unified versioning across all operating systems and represented a substantial investment in on-device AI. This year's WWDC succeeded in achieving Apple’s trademark mantra of being ambitious yet practical, and continued to set an example of the valuable balance between usability and privacy.
Unlike past years, WWDC 2025 emphasized action and on-device enhancements instead of an over-the-top flash of AI branded software. Notable areas announced were the new “Liquid Glass” design language, the use of naming devices by year of the operating system, and new Apple Intelligence features, which put things in place for the next decade of Apple experiences.
How Has Apple Changed Its Operations Systems?
Apple introduced a new design across all software products called "Liquid Glass." This new user interface allows for an immersive experience with liquid-like translucency, depth and motion. Every product and operating system across iOS, iPadOS, macOS, watchOS, and tvOS now incorporate a sophisticated glass feel - from controls to navigation bars, widgets, and even the lock screen. All the interface has become more immersive and expressive while keeping the standard user's understanding of the basic controls.
The design elements are not just bringing a different look; they are also inspiring a different way to interact with content. The Liquid Glass design can change in shape and sizes with content and context to keep the user focused on the important things and not extraneous distractions. Developers are also supported through the introduction of new APIs in SwiftUI, UIKit, and AppKit which will aid the transition to this redesigned interface and help improve overall consistency across Apple's entire ecosystem.
What Prompted the Change to Year-Based OS Naming?
In a bid to simplify software versioning, Apple changed the naming of all the major version operating systems to now just be the release year: iOS 26, iPadOS 26, macOS 26 (Tahoe), watchOS 26, tvOS 26, and visionOS 26. This not only makes it easier for users and developers to track their updates but matches Apple's product cycles more closely with the calendar year. The new OS year naming convention also emphasizes a unified approach to software development, as most features and design language will be available concurrently across platforms.
What Are the Greatest Aspects of iOS 26?
iOS 26 has a lot to offer. It has some great advancements that even add value in usability and connectivity:
Liquid Glass Design: The entire system is using a translucent, dynamic material for everything found from the lock screen to app icons that provides a new and familiar feel to your iPhone.
Messages Upgrades: Group chats gain new polls in their group chats. Also, they can do Apple Cash-based bill-splitting for messages, typing indicators for groups, and custom backgrounds for group chats and one-on-one conversations.
Apple Games App: A all-new games hub, with groups of players, and streamlined links to titles across devices.
CarPlay Enhancements: Tapbacks are now available in CarPlay Messages. And, the new designs are even present in the car.
Apple Music and Maps: Pinned music, smarter suggestions and navigation features, and more make these two apps even better.
Wallet and Call Screening: Yet more of privacy and security enhancements, but even new ways to take control of those pesky unwanted calls.
What's Apple Making with Apple Intelligence and AI Features Expanded?
In 2025, Apple is not rushing when it comes to dealing with AI. They added several Apple Intelligence features focused on privacy and on-device processing:
Visual Intelligence: This new AI-powered capability scans images and identifies objects, and places them in context to help users understand certain images better. UX Best Practices for Android Apps That Users Will Love
A fine design is one of the precursors in the cellular app industry, but the experience is what sets one app from the other. So, the expectations of Android users have become greater than ever. A user might just pick another app for being not intuitive enough and not fast and delightful to work with.
UX is different from the visual design; it is about how a user feels when she works with the app. The blog goes through significant UX best practices that are required to be followed by Android app developers to make their app win user loyalty and gain long-term user engagement.
1. Design for Android-Specific Patterns and Guidelines
It is tempting to pursue a design workflow across platforms, but this conversion will degrade the user experience because Android has its own set of conventions. Google's Material Design guidelines establish a basis for designing apps that feel native to Android devices.
Use platform-consistent elements like Floating Action Buttons, Navigation Drawers, and Snackbar notifications.
Stick to recommended layout behaviours and spacing so users can easily interact using one hand.
The familiar UI on any Android app accepts intuitive navigation with a bottom navigation bar or gesture-based transitions.
Consistency with Android UI principles is rewarded with increased usability and Play Store visibility.
2. Prioritize Speed and Responsiveness
Even if your app is beautifully made, its beauty becomes worthless if it is slow and unresponsive. It's the urgency of users getting things done that directly links to UX.
Animations should serve a purpose and remain subtle; heavy transitions that induce lag are off the limit.
Keep your loading time first-rate through lazy loading, caching, and processing data in the background.
Whatever action the user performs should have immediate feedback-anything, even loading spinners, haptic feedback, or some cool animation that will assure users their app is on the move.
Never keep interfaces slower than 1 second, even for a single response, or users tend to abandon them.
3. Keep the Interface Clean and Clutter-Free
Simplicity equals good UX. The user must never feel like being bombarded by your app.
Use whitespace to reduce the cognitive load and present only the most important actions on a certain screen.
Icons should have clear labels, and interactive elements should be large enough to tap.
Try not to put too many unnecessary features on your screens. Progressive disclosure is the way to go: suggest more choices when necessary.
A clean interface lends attention to the user, sustains errors, and creates the feeling of free-flowing navigation.
4. Ensure Accessibility and Inclusivity
Accessibility is usually left out in any UI design attempt. Truly an app for good UX will accommodate users of all abilities and preferences.
Support screen readers and provide meaningful descriptions for images or interactive elements.
Use colors with contrasts that suit the color-blind, so they do not rely on color alone to convey critical information.
Enable font scaling so users can set font size as per their needs.
Such needs for inclusive design will not only enhance UX but also extend the reach to a larger audience.
5. Design for Battery and Data Efficiency
Unoptimized apps drain battery life and use unnecessary data, two of the biggest user deterrents.
Background services and unnecessary location tracking need to be kept to the minimum.
Compress media content; allow the content to be used offline if possible.
Keep API calls efficient in terms of responsiveness, in that they should consume the minimum amount of network resources.
Apps that respect users’ device resources are more likely to retain users over the long term.
6. Test, Iterate, and Listen to Feedback
UX is never static. The best apps, therefore, keep on evolving as per user behavior and feedback.
Use Firebase Analytics or UXCam to see the user flow and find the drop-off points.
A/B test to know what changes to the design or features the users will respond to.
Monitor reviews and in-app feedback to capture real user sentiments.
Thus, iterative design from real usage data will perpetually improve your design and offer better retention opportunities for your users.

The Ecto Moog Vanilla Experience
Updated for 1.20.4
I’m the unwilling user of a MacBook Air, and I’m also someone with strong (picky) preferences for ✨vibes✨, and so to play Minecraft casually on my laptop, I’ve had to jump through several hoops to achieve what I would consider a good vanilla experience.
At this point though, I’ve put probably too much time and effort into it, and so I thought to justify that I’d make a beginner's guide to all the mods, resource packs and game options I use, as of February 2024 (1.20.4). 👇
I will attach a hyperlink to any resources I mention :)
Mods
Ok so to start off, yes, I technically I don't actually play true vanilla Minecraft, but the mods I have installed are all client-side, and for the purpose of improving or optimising the vanilla experience. You can find me and a list of (almost) all these mods on Modrinth.
Fabric & Modrinth (Intro)
To mod the game, I use Fabric. I know that Forge has had some… drama? recently, and I’m gonna be honest I’ve never tried Quilt (I will at some point), but Fabric is super widespread, tons of mods use it so it works just fine for me 😁. When I’m looking for mods, I really prefer to use Modrinth, just because I can follow everything and it’s a really well designed website. (I also tried their launcher but I think it needs a little work?)
As part of Fabric, I do have the Fabric API in my mods folder.
Performance & Optimisation
I use these mods are to make the game run better. Minecraft is notorious for being very poorly optimised, and these mods have been made by a ton of very talented people to fix that.
Sodium
JellySquid’s Sodium is the hot optimisation mod right now for rendering and graphical fixes. It doesn’t have the cosmetic features of Optifine, like dynamic lighting or zoom, but it’s super compatible and gives me great performance. Combined with my other mods, at a 15 chunk render distance in the overworld, I averaged around 50 fps. For a MacBook, that's not bad at all.

To accompany Sodium I've also got Indium, an add-on that provides support for the Fabric Rendering API, which is required for mods that use advanced rendering effects, and Reese's Sodium Options, which adds a better options screen for Sodium’s video settings- it looks better basically.
Lithium
Lithium is a general purpose optimisation mod that improves systems like game physics, mob AI, block ticking, etc without changing vanilla mechanics.

Starlight
Starlight rewrites the entire lighting engine to fix performance and errors. Made for bigger servers, but helpful for client users. I think this is in place of Phosphor.
Dynamic FPS
Dynamic FPS can reduce the game’s FPS when it’s just running in the background- useful for a laptop.
Some more specific optimisation mods:
Entity Culling avoids rendering entities that aren’t directly in your field of view, which is much more thorough than the vanilla approach.
Ferrite Core reduces the memory usage of Minecraft in a ton of different ways.
Immediately Fast optimises how things like entities, particles, text, GUI are rendered, by using “a custom buffer implementation which batches draw calls and uploads data to the GPU in a more efficient way.”
I'm not a programmer so I can’t really explain what Krypton does, something to do with networking stacks, but I know it optimises.. things, lowers server CPU usage and reduces memory usage. I’m barely following along with a lot of these mods.
Fabric Language Kotlin is a dependancy that enables the use of the Kotlin programming language for other Fabric mods. To be honest, I’ve forgotten what mod needs this but I don’t want to delete it, just in case.
Experience
These mods aren’t necessarily about performance, but they do enhance the game in a vanilla kind of way, in my opinion. Some of these could be up for debate but I do think they compliment the base game.
Lamb Dynamic Lights
Lamb Dynamic Lights is a simple but thorough dynamic lighting mod that adds light-emitting handheld items, dropped items and entities.
Zoomify
Zoomify is a super configurable zoom mod. Maybe this is just because of Optifine’s influence, but i think they should add zoom to the base game. At least I feel cool using it 😎
To make Zoomify work, you’ll need, YetAnotherConfigLib, a config library that fills in a couple of holes.
Better F3
Better F3… makes the F3 menu better. There’s the option to customise literally everything, you can colour code, shift and delete parts of the menu depending on your use case, it’s less insane and looks a whole lot better.
MiniHUD
MiniHUD allows you to display customisable F3 lines on the main screen, along with several client-side overlay renderers. I just use it for the mini-F3, and I have my FPS, coords and cardinal direction in the top left corner. It’s honestly more helpful than you’d assume.

MiniHUD requires MaLiLib (masa’s Litemod Library) which is a library mod for mods made by masa and others.
ModMenu
ModMenu adds an in-game menu where you can view the mods you’re running and access their details and setting menus.
Shulker Box Tool Tip
Shulker Box Tool Tip adds a preview of the inside of a Shulker box when it’s in your inventory.
Some more specific experience mods:
Bobby is a rendering mod that allows the player to render more chunks than a server’s fixed distance, by loading in previously generated chunks saved client-side. You can also render them straight from a singleplayer world file. To be honest, I don’t often run into this issue but it’s helpful to have lol.
Cloth Config API adds a config screen for mods in-game.
Iris is a mod that makes shaders super easy, and compatible with Sodium. It's down here because I don’t use shaders often, but it’s essential if you do.
A lot of these mods are subject to change as I find better or updated alternatives, and I'm always on the lookout for more 😁
Resource Packs
For vanilla Minecraft, I actually only use one resource pack, but if you’re familiar with Vanilla Tweaks, you’ll understand why this deserves its own category.
This resource pack allows you to pick which small changes you want to add, and a lot of them are really cool. Some of my favourite tweaks are:
Dark UI
Quieter Nether Portals
Circular Sun and Moon
Numbered Hotbar
Golden Crown
The other tweaks I have are: Classic Minecraft Logo, Lower Warped Nylium, Lower Snow, Lower Crimson Nylium, Lower Podzol, Lower Paths, Lower Grass, Wither Hearts, Ping Color Indicator, Borderless Glass, Lower Fire, Lower Shield, Transparent Pumpkin, Noteblock Banners, Quieter Minecarts, Variated Unpolished Stones, Variated, Terracotta, Variated Stone, Variated Logs, Variated Mushroom Blocks, Variated End Stone, Variated Gravel, Variated Mycelium, Variated Planks, Variated Bricks, Random Moss Rotation, Variated Cobblestone, Variated Grass, Random Coarse Dirt Rotation, Variated Dirt, Darker Dark Oak Leaves, Shorter Tall Grass, Circle Log Tops, Twinkling Stars, Accurate Spyglass, Unique Dyes, Animated Campfire Item, Red Iron Golem Flowers, Brown Leather, Warm Glow, Horizontal Nuggets, Different Stems, Variated Bookshelves, Connected Bookshelves.
Game Options
For the sake of the full experience, here's the important game options:
The End 😇
And that's the whole thing! A lot of this could change at any moment based on my play style, but I think this is a really well rounded experience for vanilla Minecraft. Let me know if there's anything else I should try 😁
