The relentless marketing finally got to me and I’ve added Bananaland to my 2024 show docket as I finally sat still long enough to realise Kate Miller-Heidke wrote it, the songs are killer, and I read a plot summary.

My initial show list for the year - this is what’s booked so far. I expect I’ll add another half dozen at least once I work out if there’s anything more at Griffin/Belvoir/Riverside that seems fun, plus I’m getting tempted by Death of a Salesman at the Theatre Royal as it’s Anthony LaPaglia, even though I saw the STC production only in 2021.

My bananaland bosses who I’ve literally never met over at Enstarz have informed my team and I that if we don’t get our YouTube channel up to 5K subscribers by the end of the month we’re out.

This was confusing to us for many reasons. First, we were hired to write news. On a website. My title was Editor. They just took one of my three writers away to be a video editor at the end of last month to fix up the [brand new] YouTube channel.

Second, we currently only have 300 ish followers.

Yall, I really love my job. I love my coworkers, I love our little podcasts, and I don’t want to lose the team and the job that finally dragged me out of my depression. I also don’t want to lose my only source of income. I can barely afford my meds as it is.
