New art print dropping today!
Beachcombing
Honoring one of our favorite pastimes; strolling along the surf, looking for fun, weird, curious items that may have been washed up or left behind. Sometimes it's a fossil that is tens of millions of years old - sometimes it's as common as a weird piece of plant life, abandoned toy, or a discarded bottle cap.
The truer story behind this print is more personal. Creating this print was our way of coping with the emotional toll of the past several days. As some of you may know, we spend a good amount of time throughout the year at a "home away from home" on a barrier island along the Gulf Coast of Florida. Last week, we worried and watched with horror as Hurricane Helene tore a path of destruction from the Gulf straight up to our hometown here in Kentucky. Our hearts go out to everyone who has had their lives, livelihood, and their homes upended by this devastating storm. We continue to be shocked by the mounting toll and the images we are seeing each day.
Print Details: 3 color screenprint 8" x 10"

Sea glass from my overnight trip to Seaham!! I got some really cool pieces of pirate glass, but none of them top the red and white one!!
It's interesting to compare what I found this time, vs my previous trip there. I found a lot less wired glass this time, and less of the pastel opaque bits. BUT, I found a few more multis! Unshown, but I found a lot more fragments of shell, and nacre. Also just smaller pieces on average, but I spent more of my time on Red Acre beach instead of Glass beach (the tide was too high for most of my time there, and Glass beach becomes fully covered! Red Acre is a lot more rocky, and requires a keener eye and moving of patches of rocks)

The amount of blue would have been great on its own but the real prize here is the yellow, I've never found a piece that color before
