Greetings once again, truth-tellers. I wanted to share with you one such clipping I had found from the February 29th edition of The Beacon-News. This particular excerpt was located within the Harold Washington Library Center's print archive. You can imagine my shock when I first saw C.S. so clearly identifiable.
I'm still hard at work trying to pick up loose ends and hope to provide further insight into the investigation. Until then, stay curious dear readers!
Skeptically yours,
Valorie Chase

@caeloservare asked: "Mister Winton, would you by any chance have time to aid some of the students that came to Atlas? The Fall of Beacon was quite an experience and I believe we could use your expertise. Of course, you will be given a fair payment and whatever else you will find needed, accommodation in the Academy included."

Though he hadn't been in Vale at the time, Aster Winton was very aware of the Fall of Beaon. At this point, he was pretty sure that most people in Remnant were aware of what had happened, or at least some version of it. Before the CCT had gone down, there had been all sorts of footage…., and then afterwards, well. The smaller towns had had to wait weeks for any sort of news to be delivered on foot, if it ever made it there.
He'd been very busy, after that, doing his best to tend to his own feelings about the school he'd gone to falling, along with everyone else's. There was a lot he still had to process, but that could wait; he had other people to worry about, especially with this request from James Ironwood.
Aster was absolutely going to help, of course he was. He couldn't force anyone to come talk to him, but maybe if they knew there was someone who would listen, it might help.
"I'm already on my way," was the only response; he had work to do.

@hopesremainder asked: ❛ that was a close call, wasn’t it? ❜ blake@yang
Tumblr media
Yang took a moment to stretch, flashing a grin in Blake's direction. They'd been doing a lot of training, recently, leading up to the Vytal Festival.  They were gonna do their best to make Beaon proud, which meant working on their combinations.
But that meant that they'd lost track of time.  They would be lucky if they made it back to their room before curfew.
Between the two of them, and with a little lucky, they managed to make it to their dorm room just in time.  The door closed behind them, and Yang leaned against it, letting out a little laugh.
"Yeah, but that just makes it all the more FUN," she replied, pushing away from the door.  "You gotta admit, it was exciting, trying to get back here on time."  Yang was no stranger to bending the rules, especially if it meant having FUN, and she was glad to see Blake had been willing to come along for the ride.

Ooh, may I ask about “Where Rainbows End in Beacon Hills” and/or “Sirens the Sequel”?? 👀
You absolutely may! "Where Rainbows End in Beaon Hills" is a Teen Wolf Scydia AU based on one of my all-time favourite books, Where Rainbows End (people may know the movie better, "Love, Rosie")
For anyone who doesn't know the plot of the book or the movie, the two main characters (Alex and Rosie, but in our case, they're Scott and Lydia), are best friends from childhood and fall in love with each other throughout the years, but of course there are complications when they become teenagers. Like Lydia getting drunk at her 18th birthday part and kissing Scott. Then not remembering any of it and asking Scott to just forget about the entire night, making him think she does remember and he just regrets it. So, he agrees and dates someone else, and Lydia gets jealous, resulting in her sleeping with another guy. They're still friends though and they're meant to be going to college together! Only, Lydia discovers she's pregnant. A lot more angst and conflict ensues, but I don't want to give away Too much more, so that's all you get summary-wise for now! Now, I'll give you a snippet from a chapter I've already written:
Lydia is never going to speak to him again because his dog ruined her birthday. And then Stiles is also not going to speak to him for at least a week if not two because Scott has just ruined any chance Stiles has of being best friends with Lydia himself.
He officially hates the number seven.
When Lydia's mom finally comes back to the party, she's wearing a thin smile that a lot of grownups tend to have. But she once again assures his mom that's it's really okay, it's no problem, they had another cake for tomorrow. Scott only feels worse when he hears that, because he remembers Lydia telling him that she was going to get a second birthday party tomorrow; a smaller one, with just her parents and her gran.
Now he's ruined that as well.
Scott doesn't even want to stay until the end of the party now, but when his mom tries to suggest that they leave early, Mrs Martin tells her not to be silly. So, they stay. Scott wants the earth to swallow him whole the entire time because Jackson keeps looking at him all funny now like he's done something wrong.
Stiles elbows him in the ribs, and quietly says, "Don't pay attention to him. It's fine. Lydia's not mad at you."
"Everyone else is," Scott mumbles, but pretty much everyone else is happy enough because they still have cake. If they hadn't, then that would probably be another story.
And even though he knows that Stiles is probably right about Lydia not being mad at him, he doesn't believe him. Especially because she doesn't talk to him for the rest of the party, and when they're leaving, he doesn't get the chance to say goodbye to her. His dad's already waiting for them, and he's honking the horn, which is making his mom go all red and flustered, so they leave quickly.
Scott just lays in his bed when he gets home, feeling stupid and upset. If he had just kept a better eye on Roxy, it would have been fine. Or he should have just listened in the first place and not brought her at all. Why did he have to make such a fuss about it?
Roxy wouldn't have cared, and Lydia's party wouldn't have been ruined, and she really wouldn't be mad at him. At least Stiles is still talking to him. He promised that if anyone said anything about it at school, he'd tell them off for him. Scott isn't sure that would help, but he appreciates knowing it.
Scrubbing at the tears stinging his eyes, Scott rolls over and tries to go to sleep. His chest is a bit tight, so it takes a while, but he drifts off eventually. His dreams are confusing and scrambled like dreams always are, but he clings onto the part with the mermaid and the evil sea witch who has paws at the end of her tentacles, and the prince who has to stop her. He isn't the prince. He was a piece of the ship that they were fighting on. But when he wakes up, part of him wishes he had been the prince.
I forgot to do “Sirens the Sequel!” Here we go, so basic summary, I like the idea of Legacies dealing with sirens as well. And isn’t it just fun to add some methan angst in there? So, MG thinking Ethan is in trouble, going to save him... only to run right into some sirens. I don’t have a snippet for this one at the moment but I might soon...

how do you think dolores will react after cloud becomes a vampire? and how do you think it'll change things about the beaon heights household between them both?
well!
i honestly imagine dolores having a lot of... weird, complicated thoughts on vampirism, especially once she knows more about it. vampires certainly aren’t human, but they were human, they lived as human, so idk what she’d conclude about the distinctions she draws that she actually cares about (ie mostly the psychological ones). though when it comes down to it, vampires are psychologically different than humans to varying extents, and only become moreso over time, so given a lot of dolores’ beliefs about what’s just inherent to being human, theoretically she should think cloud is better off as a vampire. they may be dangerous predators, but to her predators are pretty natural, a reasonable concept that can be understood and accepted as opposed to the... complex cruelty of humanity.
but... in reality, it’ll probably be more complicated than that. because this is going to be a difficult adjustment for cloud at first, and obviously she won’t like seeing him struggle. more than that, cloud is one of her closest friends and, human or not, she loves him for him. so having him change so much isn’t going to be so easy to reconcile.
on the plus side! just by nature of what and who she is, dolores is probably pretty well-equipped to handle a newborn vampire. she doesn’t have to worry about him being drawn to her blood too much, for one thing, and worst case scenario as a host she’s strong enough to grapple with him if something DID go horribly wrong. and even the technical aspects of it all aside, i think she’d just be harder to faze in general than most people when it comes to stuff like bloodlust, predatory impulses, etc.
so she’d be less concerned about cloud and more concerned for him. she might not care so much about the damage an average hypothetical newborn vampire could do, but this is cloud, and she knows that if he accidentally hurt someone... it’d weigh pretty heavily on him. so when they’re around other people she’ll probably do her best to try to keep things Safe, though i imagine sophie would be better at that just by virtue of being a lot more experienced with baby vamps
and probably even more than that, she’ll probably be most worried about his tendency to like... attach shame to letting other people help him with stuff like this and wanting to deal with it on his own. which, y’know, their whole thing so far has been about this pretty resilient loyalty to each other, so it’s not going to deter her exactly, but i think dolores also is gonna know that there are some things related to this that she just can’t help him with. and figuring out how to balance that.
in the future actually, i should really write more offscreen stuff with her and sophie, because if they didn’t have complicated feelings about each other ALREADY this whole... maker bond thing, and sophie being the one to save cloud to begin with in such a controversial way, would give dolores a lot of reasons to be conflicted about her.
ANYWAYS, on a much lighter note one last thing i wanted to touch on is that i think it’ll be fun and maybe kind of sweet to touch on their weird new... “immortal beings casually hanging out” dynamic sometimes. like i know you mentioned cloud being frustrated with his new sleep cycle -- dolores doesn’t have to sleep, so some nights she’d probably be happy enough to keep him company if he wanted it, and keep him distracted if he needed it. or like, she could probably help him out a little with the weird way that not aging kind of... twists your perception of time sometimes, because boy does she know a lot about that. and i’m sure beacon heights is gonna have all kinds of cryptid theories about the two of them,
i think the biggest problem here is that eventually someone normal is gonna come over to their house and be like “what the fuck why don’t you guys have ANYTHING to eat or drink around here”,
