My newest Illustration is here, once again inspired by the world of Bella Sara! Meet Deryn, a Fjord horse-Pegasus with the colorization of a Eurasian Bullfinch.

This illustration was a bit more of a challenge, seeing as I wanted to draw a horse lying in a tree, so I sorta had to wing the front legs and studied a lot of photos of horses lying on the ground to get a feeling for the legs. You know, considering how many cards there are, it's a bit surpising that there is not a SINGLE Pegasus in Bella Sara that's depicted sitting IN or ON a tree. Let the giant bird-horses do silly bird things! :D I think it'd be fun to have some taking off from a branch or standing tall on a tree top, maybe even have one sitting in a nest? GIANT BIRD HORSE NESTS!!!

Currently I’m finishing a graphic novel and illustrating an unannounced book. Another book I drew is getting ready to be announced. And I have a book I illustrated coming out in February featuring bunny mermaids.

Czech magazines📖 (2/2)

There are 30 Czech Bella Sara magazines. I have 18 of them at the moment.

Some of them have cutouts, but it's not horrible. I have the comic to most of them but I don't have the posters. I have only two posters but I don't know wrong which number they are.

Since there's a limit of 10 photos per post, here's the rest of them.

Giovedì 14 Marzo alle 18.30, siamo felicissimi di avere nuovamente con noi in città, a Bari, un'autrice unica che adoriamo, Lorenza Natarella, con il suo personale adattamento a fumetti de "Il Visconte Dimezzato" di Italo Calvino, pubblicato da Mondadori per la collana "Contemporanea", e che celebra con una trilogia il centenario del sempre attuale scrittore italiano. Il romanzo sull'impossibile completezza dell'uomo per la prima volta in versione graphic novel: un'opera stupefacente accesa dai colori vividi e ipnotici di Lorenza Natarella. Da SPINE Bookstore in Officina degli Esordi, incontreremo l'autrice dal vivo con una presentazione e il firmacopie del volume, e inoltre a dialogare con lei avremo il piacere di avere con noi la prof. ed esperta calviniana, Lea Durante (Uniba). Ingresso libero, firmacopie a seguire, libri disponibili sul posto, bar aperto.

"Nella guerra contro i turchi, il visconte Medardo di Terralba viene colpito in pieno petto da una cannonata. Il colpo lo divide a metà, e a salvarsi senza neanche una scalfittura, escluso l'enorme squarcio che lo separa dalla parte andata in briciole, è la metà destra, quella crudele. Vivo e dimezzato, il visconte torna a casa, scatenando la sua cattiveria in maniera imprevedibile e incomprensibile contro chiunque gli capiti a tiro: il nipote, la vecchia balia, i contadini. In occasione del centenario della nascita di Italo Calvino, caduto nell'ottobre 2023, la casa editrice Mondadori, che ha in catalogo tutte le sue opere, ne ha rinnovato la grafica e la curatela proponendo nuove edizioni e adattamenti. Tra questi, la trilogia "I nostri antenati", trasposta in romanzi a fumetti. Il primo a uscire è stato Il barone rampante (1957), raccontato da Sara Colaone, Il secondo, è Il visconte dimezzato (1952), di Lorenza Natarella. Il terzo sarà Il cavaliere inesistente (1959), a cura di Sualzo e Silvia Vecchini.
