This was not the film I expected. It started off predictable enough, but takes an unexpected turn in the last act. I’m still not sure it’s the direction I would have taken the story, yet it somehow works thanks to its strong leads. Both Julia and Lucas carry the film on their backs and while never getting the huge emotional scenes I was expecting, some powerful speeches did have me teary eyed. Drug addiction and dealing with someone you love going through it is impossibly hard, but even through some dark times it’s good to see that for at least this family, there is hope in the future. ⭐️⭐️⭐️
