► LISTEN to this Playmoss playlist: Good Fridays by Vitalic Vitalic is Pascal Arbez, a French producer with an extensive and varied trajectory full of stellar moments—an adjective that perfectly fits his space imagery—like “La Rock 01” and “Flashmob, ” both memorable electro hits. A few months ago, he released “Voyager,” an album in which he leans towards more synthey sounds. Don't miss the interview he has granted to Eargasm Web regarding his collaboration with La Bien Querida (in Spanish only, sorry): http://www.eargasmweb.com/entrevista-vitalic.
Vitalic serves up a playlist with a marked retrofuturistic and space flavor that draws from classics of contemporary electronica such as Air and The xx, but in which there's also room for disco and Italo classics like Charlie's “Spacer Woman,” pioneers of synth music like Bernard Fèvre and Jean-Michel Jarre and hits by David Bowie and Elton John.
Charlie - Spacer Woman AIR - Le Soleil Est Près de Moi (HD Version) Elton John - Rocket Man Bernard Fèvre - Jamie xx - Gosh David Bowie - Life On Mars? Automatic Lover - Dee D Jackson | Full Jean-Michel Jarre - Oxygen II Vitalic - Station Mir

In the vast world of Library Music, Philopsis with its enigmatic cover artwork stands as an exception. Philopsis was released in 1978 on Freesound – a sub-division label dedicated to French composers of the UK based publisher Ambient Music. At the source of the project - which has gained cult status in recent years - there is Jacky Giordano, a mysterious musician whose name rhymes with excitement to any of those who have heard his productions on mythical labels such as Montparnasse 2000, l’Illustration Musicale, Musax, Sonimage, Timing. Very little is known about this French musician and producer, who remained mostly in the shadow: once an accountant and later a label boss, Jacky Giordano produced and co-signed many titles under many pseudonyms. For a period of time he was the conductor for the Crazy Horse revue. He also composed for maverick film director Jean-Pierre Mocky. He is even co-credited on Bernard Fèvre’s masterpiece: Black Devil Disco Club. Later on, his setbacks with the justice in the late 2000s revealed a darker side of the persona, yet Jacky Giordano remains one of the most fascinating creators of the golden age of Library music. Among all of his confidential discography, Philopsis is undoubtedly his masterpiece. Library Music has its detractors: some will say it is uninspired music for documentaries, radio jingles or erotic productions but it is unlikely that Giordano had in mind to illustrate this kind of productions while recording Philopsis, an album of an astonishing coherence. Accompanied by Yan dY's - probably Yan Tregger (an alias forEdouard Joseph Scotto Di Suoccio, another forgotten hero of Library Music) and by Francis Personne - an obscure musician who later worked as a sound engineer on many zouk productions of the 80s - Jacky Giordano experimented a lot: the result is an airy and rough low-fi jazz-funk with clear inspirations from the musics by Lalo Schiffrin, Herbie Hancock's Headhunters, Ennio Morricone, Jean-Jacques Perrey, Nino-Nardini and even Brian Eno. Confidentially distributed at the time of its release, original copies are now almost invisible, and market price have reached crazy amounts in recent years. Making Philopsis available again sounded like an evidence.

RUBBA - CAROUSEL IN THE MILKY WAY
L’Illustration Musicale, Sonimage, Técipress-In Editions (Timing), Musax, Freesound, Montparnasse 2000 in France but also De Wolfe and Chappell in England, every of these sound illustration labels have in common to bring out as a legendary spectre the name of Jacky Giordano and his aliases. Widespread practice in the library music world, Joachim Sherylee, chosen for the “In Motion” album, is one of his plentiful aliases (with José Pharos, Jacky Nodaro, Gruppo Sounds, Rubba...) used by the french composer, that we regain as well for Black Devil with Bernard Fèvre or even for the Shifters with Yan Tregger. For his enthronement on the mythical english label De Wolfe, it's under the obscure name of the Rubba collective (which resurfaces evenly with other english instrumentalists within the Rouge subdivision) that Jacky Giordano aka Joachim Sherylee sneaked in the londonian De Wolfe studios with the companionship of british colleagues such as John Hyde (aka John Saunders, James Harrington used on the Amphonic Music label, Astral sounds or even Wozo) and his wife Monice Hyde (aka Monica Beale), Alan Howe (aka John Collins), Robert Poole and Tim Broughton. Published in 1980, the "In Motion: Modern Progressive Group Sounds Played By Rubba" LP and its minimalistic and utilitarian red record cover which contains 13 tracks, mainly composed by Joachim "Giordano" Sherylee and was never reissued since then. This record became cult over time, it will have taken that the Hip-Hop world, consistently at the forefront and on the lookout for original samples, seize it in order to dig out from the disregarded and underestimated musical gems graveyard. First of all with beatmaker Madlib and Freddie Gibbs in 2011 with the track Thuggin', in which he sampled the track Way Star, also used more recently by Mil and the rapper Westside Gunn on his track Brains Flew by (1964 Version). Nearly 40 years after, the Farfalla Records label, after publishing Timing Archives, presents another aspect more progressive and psychedelic of the multi-faceted composer Jacky Giordano by fully reissuing at last this coveted, mysterious and mesmerizing "Rubba". Very desired by crate-diggers, In Motion appears in the want-list of plenty enthusiasts in this enigmatic world of the library music.

Two Door Cinema Club 'Talk' (Black Devil Disco Club Remix)🔥 Illusive disco legend, Bernard Fèvre AKA Black Devil Disco Club takes the remix reigns next with his reimagination of Two Door Cinema Club's recent hit single 'Talk'. The electro-odyssey takes the track into a brand new realm, channeling disco rhythms, psychedelic acapella vocals, and Italo-style bass lines. This one-off, one-of-a-kind rework is not to be missed! #UbuntuFM #Radio https://one.ubuntu.fm/320hEOd

Fulgeance - Analogique - inspired by the library masters
ANALOGIQUE is a new experimental ambient project from French producer Fulgeance. The man behind Musique Large, Souleance or Claude has created a sound library using analog synths and drum machines providing yet more evidence to suggest that he is more than just a beat maker. Using vintage hardware he lets the machines take the lead, embracing ‘mistakes’ in search of unheard sounds from the technology at his disposal. Taking influence from the classic KPM and Télémusic labels as well as pioneers such as Bernard Fèvre, Brian Bennett and Alan Hawkshaw, Fulgeance has created something that is very much his own sound.

In this simulation study, we assessed differences in gross tumor volume (GTV) in a series of skull base paragangliomas (SBPGLs) using magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), 18F-dihydroxyphenylalanine (18F-FDOPA) combined positron emission tomography/computed tomography (PET/CT), and 18F-FDOPA PET/MRI images obtained by rigid alignment of PET and MRI. GTV was delineated in 16 patients with SBPGLs on MRI (GTVMRI), 18F-FDOPA PET/CT (GTVPET), and combined PET/MRI (GTVPET/MRI). GTVPET/MRI was the union of GTVMRI and GTVPET after visual adjustment. Three observers delineated GTVMRI and GTVPET/MRI independently. Excellent interobserver reproducibility was found for both GTVMRI and GTVPET/MRI. GTVPET and GTVMRI were not significantly different. However, there was some spatial difference between the locations of GTVMRI, GTVPET, and GTVPET/MRI. The Dice similarity coefficient median value was 0.4 between PET/CT and MRI, and 0.8 between MRI and PET/MRI. The combined use of PET/MRI produced a larger GTV than MRI alone. Nevertheless, both the target-delivered dose and organs-at-risk conservancy were respected when treatment was planned on the PET/MRI-matched data set. Future integration of 18F-FDOPA PET/CT into clinical practice will be necessary to evaluate the influence of this diagnostic modality on SBPGL therapeutic management. If the clinical utility of 18F-FDOPA PET/CT and/or PET/MRI is confirmed, GTVPET/MRI should be considered for tailored radiotherapy planning in patients with SBPGL.
