I'm still in awe of the level of self-determinationin Black Tabby Games. Both in Slay the Princess and Scarlet Hollow, they look so scripted on the surface, but your character has an amazing level of ability to assert their individuality. In Scarlet Hollow, I have played:
A gremlin who never showers, can and will eat literally anything, and makes a living stealing furniture and reselling it as upcycled on Etsy. They go out of their way to make their cousin's life difficult.
A beefy, attractive doofus who just wants the best for everyone and is in love at first sight with the nerdy goth girl. He also eats everything, but in an entirely different way.
A stressed out elementary school teacher who is very anxious about all this supernatural stuff and just wants to go home to her cat. She wants to keep her head down, so she's glued to Tabitha's side most of the time.
A streetwise skeptic who mostly goes out with Stella to have something to do and is reeling from their world getting turned upside down.
An psychic, Cassandra-esque young woman who desperately wishes people would listen to her. She sought solace in books to escape the stress of real life.
A cheerful dork who can talk to animals and is also psychic. They are fully unaffected by all this nonsense and are completely open about their abilities. They're very fond of Avery because they accept the evidence of their eyes and ears and roll with it.
I'm not done with the many possibilities of this game. It's wild.
Then there's Slay the Princess, where everything is a spoiler, but suffice it to say that you are spoiled for choice. Sometimes very very literally.
There are very few games that feel like you have this much agency. Even Baldur's Gate III is more limiting at times.

if you want personalized advice regarding your shifting/void journey ->
I meant to post about this so many times but I keep forgetting TT
anyways if you want personalized advice regarding your shifting/void journey and have the funds I recommend you get personalized readings by tarot readers
I got like 3 of them from 3 different people just to make sure and all of them were basically saying the same things, so I followed the advice and it helped me so much in my journey and were true to my situation. the last one literally said ‘you’ll puck up a new practice that’ll help you so much’ then a few weeks I found out about the void state and in less than 24h I entered the void and shifted to my dr
not only that, but besides advice you can get channeled messages from people in your dr to motivate you if you lost motivation. every time I get a channeled reading from a person in my dr my motivation skyrockets for months lol
in these channeled messages the tarot reader actually talks to people from your dr, it’s 100% them. I got things in my readings that I’ve scripted and never told the reader and left me with my mouth hanging open,, like I never told anyone this lmao
this is just something that helped me a lot in my journey and I wanted to share. this is definitely not necessary to help you shift/get into the void tho
I recommend you search your desired reading on etsy but you can find lots of tarot readers that do paid readings on tiktok and tumblr, but I like etsy the most. before buying a reading make sure the shop has lots of reviews (80+) and a good rating (4.8-5 stars)
here are the people I got my readings from and they were 100% accurate to me and helped me a lot
MoreThanDivination on etsy — I CANNOT recommend them enough!! literally the best tarot and osteomancy reader ever!! atm they’re on a break, but get a reading if you can after they’re back. truly one of a kind and they’re very nice and friendly
beeshobbithole on etsy — I got a reading from them some time ago and I’m currently waiting for 2 more (thus I remembered to post this thinking about when I’ll get my readings). very motivational. I got a letter and the person in my letter mentioned something only we should know about lol that’s how I knew it’s them
honeysreadings on etsy — I got a reading from them like a week ago and for two days I could only think about it. almost cried when reading it. 10/10; unfortunately they’re on a break too because of some medical issues. wishing them a speedy recovery!!
moonstonemuneca on tiktok — I got so many readings from them cause they’re just so great. they also keep stuff real without sugarcoating it
drop your favorite tarot readers in the comments or in a reblog mwah

Youre so real for this. Thank you, im trying my best :]
Currently I have a comic (that were gonna restart cause were finally getting our crap together about it) about a group of cafe workers going against a cult-ish corporation with the help of strange deities- i used to have it organized on instagram but they removed my guides so you can read what here on tumblr
Ive also got an oc ask blog here thats for some ocs that are gonna be coming up on the minecraft rp i upload to my youtube channel! My chacters there are both witches with academic trauma that cope with it in very different ways
Me and my friend @hazellum are also writing a Dracula inspired novel called Writers Blood in which Dracula Finds Out and gets a cane shoved down his throat when he turns a sweet painter lady, and then this lady and her friends have to figure out how to cope with the vampirism. We might release it on etsy when its done unless a publisher actually wants us lmao. You can see art ive posted about it in the writers blood tag on my blog
And lastly, were working on an indie animated pilot/show called Anubis Game Room, about an amusment park animatronic that was given a soul by the egyptian deity hes meant to represent and now has to find out the meaning of life. We have a couple scripts and 25% of a show bible. Were posting the show bible on a discord channel thats only open to twitch and Ko-fi subs (and our friends) cause were manifesting
Its all definitely hard to try and work on with me having a full time job for the medical bills and a part time art job i refuse to quit out of a sense of community and love for the craft. It would be awesome to be able to get any sort of income out of this, but im gonna keep going at it wven if we dont
And we also have plans for other projects in the future that well work on once were done with these!
I am being so serious when I say: if you have the financial and time privilege to get a group of friends together and make an indie project, PLEASE do. Indie games, indie animations, indie comics etc etc
the art industries are kind of in the shitter. It’s not so much because of AI (though that doesn’t help) but because studios just aren’t hiring people and funding projects anymore. People who’ve been in the industry for decades are finding themselves struggling, and once you have a mortgage or kids it’s harder to do something as risky as making something on your own.
completing projects is hard. it takes a lot of time and effort, and most people can’t afford it. so if you CAN afford to make art, even at the risk of no financial gain, I strongly encourage you to be as resilient as you can. We’re at a point where these industries are not going to turn around by themselves, and waiting for jobs to open up again in order to get experience and portfolio work might not be realistic.
people have been making art and telling stories longgggg before we were getting paid for it, and people aren’t going to stop just because no one has hired them to do so.
for everyone else: support indie artists when you can!!!! That person who made that cool indie game or youtube animation or webcomic might be doing this full time! your support might be the only reason they’re able to keep doing it.
and if you have already started an indie project: you’re so brave and I’m very proud of you!!! in fact, drop a link to it in the reblogs if you want! 👇
#getting to list out all the projects made me rlly wanna work on them again#i havent done something for the ask blog in so long#indie project#indie novel#indie animation#wips#indie comics

KidStudio AI Review 2025: Best AI Tool to Create Kids Videos & Coloring Books Without Skills
Introduction
Hello, welcome to my KidStudio AI Review. If you’ve ever wanted to make money by creating kids’ content — like YouTube videos, coloring books, or digital printables — but didn’t have the time, skills, or budget to get started…
KidStudio AI might just be the tool you’ve been waiting for.
This powerful, all-in-one platform uses artificial intelligence to help you create stunning kids’ videos, printable coloring books, illustrated stories, and more — in minutes, with zero tech or design skills.
And the best part? You can sell everything you make. Anywhere. Anytime. No monthly fees.
Let’s dive into what makes it a total game-changer for creators, educators, and digital entrepreneurs
What Is KidStudio AI?
Imagine having a tool that lets you create full kids’ content — from animated videos to printable books — all in one place. That’s KidStudio AI.
It’s a beginner-friendly dashboard that does the writing, designing, and video editing for you. You don’t need a script. Don’t need to draw. You don’t need to record your voice. The AI handles it all.
You just pick a topic, choose a style, and boom — your content is ready to sell or publish.
How Does It Work?
It works in just 3 simple steps:
Step#1: Log In and Get Started First, grab access to KidStudio AI. Then log in to your dashboard. It’s clean and super simple. You won’t feel lost or confused.
Everything you need is right there in front of you. No complicated buttons. No learning curve. It’s made for total beginners and experienced
Step#2: Create Amazing Content Now the real magic begins. Choose what you want to create — a kids’ video, a coloring book, or printable pages. Just choose what you want to create.
Then type in a few words — like “superhero story” or “alphabet animals.” Click Generate… and BOOM. Your content appears in seconds. No writing. Not drawing. No editing.
The AI builds it for you — story, visuals, music, even voiceover!
Example: Let’s say you want to make a bedtime story video. Just type “bedtime story for 5-year-olds.”
The AI will write it, create the scenes, add music, and even add a soft voiceover. You can preview it, edit if needed, and save it.
Step#3: Publish and Profit Your content is ready. Time to share it with the world! You can publish it on: YouTube Kids, Etsy, Amazon KDP, your own blog, or even sell it to clients!
You own it all. That means no platform rules, no limits, and 100% of the profit goes to you.
KidStudio AI Review — Features
Create Fun Kids Videos — Fast No editing skills? No problem. Just type your topic — like fairytales or ABCs — and let the AI do the work. Great for teachers, parents, or content creators.
Writing Made Simple Stuck on ideas? Just enter a word like “bravery” or “friendship,” and KidStudio’s AI gives you a full story or script. Perfect for YouTube, Reels, or lessons.

What Are the Best Beginner-Friendly Tools to Make $10K a Month Online? Here’s the Inside Scoop
Let’s be honest—$10,000 a month online sounds like a dream, right? But the wild thing is... it’s actually doable. Not just for tech wizards or marketing pros, but for regular people with Wi-Fi, some hustle, and the right tools.

Whether you're looking to ditch your 9-to-5, create multiple streams of income, or just want some extra cash flowing in, you’ve probably been down the YouTube rabbit hole of “make money online” videos. Some are great. Most are hype.
So here’s a no-fluff, beginner-friendly guide with 10 proven tools and platforms that actually work. If you’re serious about building an income online—especially if you’re aiming for that five-figure monthly milestone—bookmark this.
These platforms cover affiliate marketing, freelancing, digital products, content creation, and automation. And no, you don’t need to be an expert to start.
1. Systeme.io – Your All-in-One Marketing Tool
If you’re looking to sell digital products, run a course, or build an email list without blowing your budget—Systeme.io is a lifesaver. It’s like ClickFunnels, Kajabi, Mailchimp, and Teachable rolled into one—but way cheaper and beginner-friendly.
You can build funnels, send automated emails, create online courses, and even run affiliate programs—all in one place.
Why it helps: Automation = passive income. Once your funnel is live, it works while you sleep.
2. Canva – Design That Sells
Whether you’re launching a brand, running an Etsy store, or promoting your services, how things look really matters. Canva lets you design graphics, ebooks, thumbnails, printables, and even short videos with zero design skills.
Here’s the trick: Combine Canva with a side hustle like selling digital planners or social media templates on Etsy or Gumroad.
Tip: Use trending templates and bundle products for higher sales.
3. Ko-fi – Get Paid for Your Creativity
If you’re a writer, artist, podcaster, or YouTuber, Ko-fi is a powerful (and underrated) platform. It lets your audience “tip” you or pay for digital downloads, memberships, and services.
No middlemen. No big fees. Just your work and your supporters.
Best part? No monthly subscription fee, unlike Patreon.
4. Gumroad – Sell Anything Digital
From ebooks to stock photos to Notion templates, Gumroad makes it super simple to sell digital products. You don’t even need a website.
Upload your product, set a price, and start sharing the link.
Real Talk: People are making bank selling things like resume templates, AI prompts, printable journals, and even simple courses. Start with what you know—package it smartly, and market it.
5. Fiverr – Freelancing Without Begging for Work
Think Fiverr is just for $5 gigs? Not anymore.
Today, people are charging hundreds (even thousands) for services like voiceovers, SEO audits, email marketing, and AI-powered content creation.
Beginner tip: Start with a basic gig at a competitive price, get reviews, and scale from there. Niching down helps. For example, instead of “video editing,” try “YouTube Shorts editing for finance channels.”
6. ChatGPT + Notion – The Productivity Power Combo
Use ChatGPT to generate content ideas, scripts, blogs, or emails in seconds. Combine it with Notion to organize your business like a pro—plan your content calendar, manage clients, track finances.
How it helps: You get things done faster, meaning more time to scale and grow.
Bonus idea: Create and sell Notion templates tailored for niche audiences (freelancers, students, coaches, etc.).
7. Medium Partner Program – Get Paid to Write
Got a story to tell or knowledge to share? Medium’s Partner Program pays you based on how long people read your articles.
It takes time to build traction, but if you’re consistent and use trending topics (think AI, productivity, side hustles), you’ll start seeing those payouts.
Pro Tip: Repurpose your Medium posts into newsletters or ebooks down the line.
8. Pinterest + Tailwind – Free Traffic Hack
Pinterest is a goldmine for driving free traffic to blogs, YouTube channels, ecommerce products, and affiliate offers. It’s a visual search engine, not a social media platform.
Tailwind automates posting and helps you schedule pins smartly for max reach.
Use case: Post pins linking to your Gumroad store or affiliate blog and let the traffic roll in.
9. Affiliate Networks (Impact, ShareASale, Digistore24)
You don’t need a product to make money—you can promote other people’s. That’s the whole point of affiliate marketing.
Impact.com, ShareASale, and Digistore24 offer thousands of high-paying affiliate products in every niche imaginable.
Strategy: Create niche blogs, YouTube videos, or TikToks reviewing or using the product. Use SEO and smart linking to drive commissions.
10. Podia – Sell Courses, Coaching, or Webinars
If you have a teachable skill, turn it into a course or coaching program. Podia lets you create and sell with ease. No tech headaches. No hefty fees.
You can also offer freebies to build your email list, host webinars, and manage customer communication—all in one spot.
Niche ideas that work well: AI tools tutorials, Canva for beginners, passive income guides, productivity coaching.
But Wait—Can You Really Make $10K a Month With These?
Short answer: Yes, but not overnight.
Long answer: These tools are enablers. They give you the structure, platform, and automation to earn—but you still need to put in the work.
Most people start by earning $500–$1,000/month consistently. Once that system is solid, scaling to $5K–$10K becomes way easier with smart content creation, automation, and a bit of paid ads (if needed).
Quick Math Example:
Sell a $20 ebook = need 500 sales/month
Offer $500 coaching = just 20 clients/month
Affiliate commission of $100 = just 100 sales/month
Spread that across platforms and traffic channels? Totally doable.
Final Tips to Make It Work
Pick 1 or 2 tools and go deep – Don’t try everything at once.
Choose a niche you care about – It keeps you going when results are slow.
Repurpose everything – Turn one blog into a Medium post, email, tweet, and reel.
Focus on traffic sources – SEO, Pinterest, YouTube, and email are long-term gold.
Keep learning – Trends change fast. Stay sharp, stay consistent.

How to Crush Side Hustles & Build Passive Income in 2025

Having a single income source in 2025 is playing financial roulette. As the cost of living continues to increase and job markets are changing rapidly, millions are opting for side hustles and passive income, not as a need but as a necessity.
Whether you're looking to break free from paycheck-to-paycheck living, save up for that dream vacation, or amass long-term riches, the great news is: there's never been a better time to begin.
What's the Difference?
Let's set things straight:
Side Hustle: Work you do outside of your main job to make additional money. Typically time-for-money.
Passive Income: Money that flows in with minimal everyday effort once the system is in place.
Top Trending Side Hustles in 2025
AI-Powered Freelancing
Use the likes of ChatGPT, Midjourney, or Notion AI to provide writing, design, or strategy services quicker and smarter.
Platforms: Upwork, Fiverr, Contra.
Digital Products
Sell Notion templates, eBooks, online courses, or Canva designs.
Platform: Gumroad, Etsy, Payhip, Teachable.
Print-on-Demand Stores
Create T-shirts, mugs, posters. No inventory required.
Tools: Printful + Shopify or Etsy.
Affiliate Marketing (With a Niche)
Create a blog, TikTok, or Instagram around one niche and suggest products.
Get paid for every referral sale.
Social Media Ghostwriting
Create posts for busy influencers or CEOs with AI and trend monitoring.
Paid by thread, post, or monthly package.
Passive Income Sources That Are Effective in 2025

YouTube Automation
Faceless videos using AI voiceovers, stock visuals, and scripts.
Monetize through ads, sponsors, and affiliate links.
Dividend Stocks & REITs
Invest in regular-dividend-paying companies or real estate trusts.
Passive but needs initial capital.
Niche Blogging (SEO + AI Content)
Create blogs with long-tail keywords.
Monetize through ads and affiliate links.
E-book Series on Kindle
Self-publish short guides, fiction, or specialty nonfiction.
Kindle Direct Publishing (KDP) remains a goldmine for creators.
Substack Newsletters
Grow an audience around a particular niche and sell paid subscriptions.
Tips Before You Dive In
Choose your niche: Don't attempt to do it all. Focus triumphs.
Begin with a time-abundant hustle (side hustle) → then create passive systems.
Don't neglect marketing: Even the best products perish without promotion.
Automate: Employ AI tools, schedulers, and platforms that minimize manual labor.
What Not to Do
"Get rich quick" crypto/Ponzi schemes.
Shelling out money for access to rudimentary platforms—most legitimate ones are free or cheap.
Relying on overnight success. Even passive income requires initial hustle.
Thoughts in Conclusion
The concept of making money in your sleep once seemed like a scam. But in 2025, with the right strategy, mindset, and tools, it's a pragmatic way to financial independence.
Start small. Stay consistent. And remember: every millionaire started with one hustle.

You Can Make Money With AI Without Quitting Your Job
Smart, Low-Risk Ways to Build AI-Powered Income Streams in Your Spare Time
The AI gold rush is here — and no, you don’t need to be a coder or quit your job to cash in on it.

Whether you're a teacher, marketer, designer, or accountant, you can use AI tools to create real income streams on the side. With the rise of user-friendly platforms like ChatGPT, Midjourney, Claude, and others, the barrier to entry has never been lower.
The best part? You don’t have to make a huge leap of faith or bet the house. With just a few hours a week, you can start earning from AI — and potentially scale it over time.
Let’s explore how real people are using AI to make money without leaving their 9–5.
AI-Powered Freelancing: Offer Fast, High-Quality Services What it is: Use AI tools like ChatGPT, Jasper, or Grammarly to provide faster and better freelance services — writing, editing, scripting, summarizing, and more.
How to start:
List services on Fiverr, Upwork, or Contra
Offer blog writing, LinkedIn ghostwriting, email copy, resumes, or chatbot prompts
Use AI to speed up 70% of the process — then polish it with your human touch Earnings Potential: \$100–\$1,000/month depending on volume Time Commitment: 5–10 hours/week
🧠 Example: A part-time teacher used ChatGPT to create lesson plans and sell them on Teachers Pay Teachers — making \$1,200/month within 6 months.
Build and Sell AI-Prompt Templates What it is: Prompt engineering is now a legit skill. If you can create smart, structured prompts that help people get better results with AI, you can package and sell them. How to start:
Create prompt packs for specific use cases (e.g., “ChatGPT for Therapists” or “Email Marketing Prompts”)
Sell on Gumroad, Etsy, PromptBase, or your own website
Use Notion or Canva to make them visually appealing Earnings Potential: \$100–\$2,000/month (and scalable) Time Commitment: 2–5 hours/week
⚡ Pro Tip: Use free tools like Canva to brand your product and ChatGPT to brainstorm niche ideas.
AI + Content Creation: Grow a Monetized Audience What it is: Use AI to produce short-form or long-form content faster — blogs, TikToks, YouTube videos, or newsletters — and monetize through affiliate links, sponsorships, or digital products. How to start:
Use ChatGPT to outline and script content
Use Midjourney or DALL·E for visuals, thumbnails, or storyboards
Monetize via Substack, Ko-fi, Buy Me a Coffee, or YouTube ads Earnings Potential: \$100–\$5,000/month (once you build momentum) Time Commitment: 3–6 hours/week
📈 Example: A 9–5 developer started a “Productivity with AI” newsletter using ChatGPT and now earns \$500/month via affiliate links.
Create AI-Powered Digital Products What it is: Use AI tools to help you quickly create and sell digital assets — like ebooks, planners, guides, courses, or templates. How to start:
Use ChatGPT to generate content outlines and draft copy
Use Canva for design, ConvertKit for email, and Gumroad to sell
Choose a niche you already know (parenting, productivity, budgeting, etc.) Earnings Potential: \$200–\$10,000+ (depending on the offer and audience) Time Commitment: 10–20 hours to build, passive after that
💡 Example: A side-hustler built a “90-Day AI Productivity Planner” using ChatGPT and Canva — now sells 100 copies/month at \$12 each.
Become a Micro-AI Consultant or Tutor What it is: Small businesses are desperate to understand how to use AI. If you can teach the basics of ChatGPT, email automation, or AI workflows, you can charge for that knowledge. How to start:
Offer 1:1 Zoom sessions or create mini-courses on Skillshare or Gumroad
Start with friends, LinkedIn, or local Facebook groups
Focus on specific industries: real estate, coaching, e-commerce, etc. Earnings Potential: \$300–\$2,000/month Time Commitment: Flexible — 1 to 5 hours/week
🎯 Bonus: Use ChatGPT to generate your slide decks and lesson plans.
Final Thoughts: Start Small, Think Long You don’t need to quit your job to join the AI wave. You don’t need to be a coder. You don’t need a million followers. You just need:
Curiosity
A few spare hours
A willingness to experiment AI is a tool. The value comes from how you use it — and the opportunities are multiplying by the day.
So start small. Build something tiny. Monetize it. Then repeat. The side income might just become your main income — but only if you begin.

9 Profitable Products You Can Build Using ChatGPT.
Turn AI into income — no tech degree required.

Let’s face it — the idea of making money online can feel overwhelming. There’s a flood of “passive income” advice out there, and most of it either overpromises or requires a ton of upfront investment.
But here’s the good news: tools like ChatGPT are changing the game. You don’t need to be a coding genius or a bestselling author to start something profitable. With a bit of creativity (and a little AI help), you can start building digital products that actually sell.
Here are 9 simple, real-world product ideas you can create using ChatGPT — even if you're starting from scratch.
1. 📘 Write and Sell Ebooks
Always wanted to write a book, but never knew where to start? ChatGPT can help you brainstorm topics, outline chapters, and even write clean, readable content. Whether it’s a guide on fitness, productivity, side hustles, or a personal journey — you can publish and sell your ebook on Amazon, Gumroad, or your own site. No publishing deal required.
2. 🎓 Launch an Online Course
Courses are one of the most scalable ways to share knowledge. With ChatGPT, you can outline your course structure, write scripts for your videos, and create lesson content faster than ever. Add your personal experience and voice, then host it on Teachable, Thinkific, or even YouTube.
3. 🤖 Build Custom Chatbots for Small Businesses
Think about all the local businesses that could use a chatbot on their website or Facebook page — dentists, coaches, fitness trainers. You can use ChatGPT and no-code platforms to build conversational bots that handle FAQs, collect leads, or book appointments. You build it once, and it keeps working for them — and earning for you.
4. 📱 Offer Social Media Content Packs
If you’re good at aesthetics or trends, here’s a great idea: use ChatGPT to generate content — captions, tweets, post ideas — and package it up for clients each month. Businesses and creators are always looking for help keeping up with content. Bonus: you don’t even have to be on camera.
5. 💌 Sell Email Marketing Templates
Emails are still one of the best marketing tools, and every brand needs solid copy for welcome sequences, product launches, or newsletters. ChatGPT can write persuasive, brand-aligned emails — you just tweak, package, and sell. You can even niche down: fitness coaches, Etsy sellers, consultants… they all need emails.
6. ✍️ Start a Niche Blog (and Monetize It)
Blogging isn’t dead — it’s just smarter now. Use ChatGPT to research keywords, write SEO-friendly blog posts, and build a site around a specific niche (think dog training, personal finance, or van life). Add affiliate links or display ads, and you’ve got a long-term passive income stream.
7. 📝 Create Printable Planners or Journals
Digital printables like planners, checklists, and journals are booming on platforms like Etsy. ChatGPT can help generate prompts, daily planning templates, goal trackers, and more. You just design them using a tool like Canva and list them for sale. Low overhead, high creativity.
8. 🎥 Write Scripts for Content Creators
YouTubers, podcasters, and TikTokers all need help with ideas and scripting. ChatGPT can help you brainstorm hooks, write outlines, and even full scripts — especially for explainer content, interviews, or educational videos. If you’ve got a knack for storytelling, this is a service people will happily pay for.
9. ✍️ Supercharge Your Freelance Writing
If you already freelance (or want to), ChatGPT is your secret weapon. It won’t replace your voice or creativity — but it will help you write faster and avoid writer’s block. Use it to brainstorm angles, generate first drafts, or polish content. You can offer faster turnaround and take on more clients without burning out.
The Bottom Line
You don’t need to wait for the “perfect” business idea or invest thousands into starting up. With ChatGPT, you already have a creative partner ready to help you build real, valuable products.
Start small. Experiment. Choose one idea and run with it. You’ll be surprised how quickly momentum builds when the barrier to entry is this low.

Where to Buy Pens: A Comprehensive Guide to Finding the Perfect Writing Instrument Whether you’re a professional writer, a stationery enthusiast, or just someone who enjoys the art of writing, finding the right pen can be a delightful yet sometimes overwhelming task. With so many options available, you might wonder where to buy pens that suit your style, purpose, and budget. This guide will help you navigate the world of pens, from high-end luxury writing instruments to affordable daily-use pens, and provide insight into the best places to purchase them. Types of Pens You Can Buy Before we dive into where to buy pens, it’s essential to understand the different types of pens available on the market. Pens come in a variety of styles, each serving different needs and preferences:
Fountain Pens Fountain pens are known for their smooth writing experience and elegant design. They feature a nib and ink reservoir, offering a personalized writing flow. These pens are highly favored by collectors, writers, and professionals. Fountain pens can range from affordable options to luxurious, high-end models crafted with premium materials.
Ballpoint Pens Ballpoint pens are the most common type of pen and are known for their reliability and ease of use. These pens use a small ball at the tip to transfer ink onto paper, making them ideal for everyday writing tasks. Ballpoint pens are available in various designs, from basic models to premium versions.
Rollerball Pens Rollerball pens offer a smoother writing experience than ballpoints, thanks to their liquid ink system. These pens are perfect for those who want to write with ease and precision. They are often used in professional settings and by those who write for long periods.
Gel Pens Gel pens combine the smoothness of rollerball pens with the vivid colors and opacity of ink from markers. These pens are popular for both writing and artistic purposes, offering vibrant lines that stand out on paper. Gel pens are available in many colors, making them ideal for creative expression.
Refillable Pens Many pens are designed to be refilled with ink or other writing mediums. Refillable pens are eco-friendly and cost-effective, especially for individuals who write frequently. These pens often come in fountain, ballpoint, or rollerball varieties and can be refilled with ink cartridges or converters.
Calligraphy Pens Calligraphy pens are designed for those interested in the art of decorative writing. These pens have special nibs that allow for varying line thicknesses, making them perfect for writing beautiful scripts and letters. Calligraphy pens are often used by artists, designers, and crafters. Where to Buy Pens Now that you know the types of pens available, let's look at the best places to buy them. Whether you're looking for luxury fountain pens or simple ballpoints, the following sources will offer a variety of options to suit your needs:
Local Stationery Stores One of the easiest and most convenient places to buy pens is at your local stationery store. These stores often carry a broad selection of pens, from everyday writing instruments to high-end options for collectors. Shopping in person allows you to feel the pen and get a sense of its comfort and writing experience before making a purchase. Local stationery stores may also offer expert advice if you're unsure about which pen to choose. Pros: • Hands-on experience to test the pen • Expert advice from store employees • Wide selection of pens available Cons: • Limited selection compared to online stores • Higher prices due to overhead costs
Online Marketplaces Online marketplaces such as Amazon, eBay, and Etsy offer a vast selection of pens from various brands and sellers. Shopping online gives you access to a wide variety of pens, from affordable everyday options to luxury brands. These platforms also allow you to read customer reviews, helping you make informed decisions about which pen is right for you. Pros: • Extensive selection of pens • Ability to compare prices across sellers • Customer reviews to guide your decision Cons: • Unable to test the pen in person • Delivery time may vary
Specialty Pen Stores and Websites For those looking for high-quality, luxury, or collectible pens, specialty pen stores and websites are the perfect destination. Stores like Pen Boutique, Goulet Pens, The Pen Shop, and JetPens focus exclusively on pens and offer an array of premium brands and custom options. These stores often carry a curated selection of fountain pens, ballpoints, rollerballs, and more. They also provide expert guidance and resources for pen enthusiasts. Pros: • Expert knowledge and guidance • Wide range of premium pens • Specialty pens and accessories available Cons: • Higher prices for luxury pens • Shipping fees may apply
Big-Box Retailers and Office Supply Stores Large retailers such as Walmart, Target, and Staples offer pens at various price points, from budget-friendly ballpoints to mid-range gel pens and premium brands. These stores are convenient and offer in-person shopping with the ability to buy pens alongside other office supplies. Pros: • Convenient locations and easy to find • Affordable options for everyday writing • No shipping fees for in-store purchases Cons: • Limited selection of high-end pens • Less emphasis on specialized or luxury pens
Luxury Goods Stores If you’re looking for a high-end, luxury pen, consider visiting a store that specializes in luxury goods. Brands like Montblanc, Parker, Sheaffer, and Cross offer premium writing instruments that combine superior craftsmanship with elegant design. These stores may offer personalized engraving and customizations, making them ideal for gift purchases or collectors. Pros: • Exclusive access to luxury pens • Personalized services, including engraving • Opportunity to try pens before purchasing Cons: • High prices • Limited availability of more affordable options
Department Stores Many department stores, such as Macy's, Nordstrom, and Bloomingdale's, carry a selection of high-end pens, especially in their stationery sections. While the selection may not be as vast as specialty stores, these stores often stock reputable brands, making them an excellent option for those seeking a quality pen. Pros: • Accessible in many locations • High-quality options for mid-range and premium pens • Often offer gift sets and limited editions Cons: • Smaller selection than specialized stores • Higher prices compared to online options
Pen Shows and Conventions Pen shows and conventions are excellent places to purchase pens, especially for collectors. These events bring together sellers, enthusiasts, and brands from around the world, offering you the chance to browse rare and limited-edition pens. You’ll also have the opportunity to meet pen experts, ask questions, and even test out pens before you buy. Pros: • Unique and rare pens available • Opportunity to meet other collectors and experts • Hands-on experience with pens before purchase Cons: • Limited availability of pens (events are periodic) • Can be overwhelming due to the large number of choices
Antique Stores and Estate Sales For collectors of vintage and rare pens, antique stores and estate sales are a hidden gem. These locations often feature vintage writing instruments that may no longer be in production. The charm of antique pens is that they often come with a history, making them highly desirable for collectors. Pros: • Unique, vintage, or antique pens • Can find rare and collectible items • Often at lower prices compared to luxury stores Cons: • Selection may be limited and inconsistent • Pens may require restoration or maintenance
Pen Subscription Services Pen subscription services like The Write Sample and Ink Drop offer monthly subscriptions that allow you to receive different types of pens and ink samples each month. These services are ideal for those who love discovering new writing instruments without committing to a full purchase upfront. Pros: • Explore a variety of pens each month • Discover new and unique brands • Convenient and fun experience for pen lovers Cons: • Subscriptions may not offer full-sized pens • Limited to the pens included in the subscription box Conclusion Whether you're purchasing a pen for everyday writing, a special occasion, or your collection, knowing where to buy pens can significantly impact your overall experience. From local stationery stores to online marketplaces and luxury boutiques, there’s a perfect place for every kind of pen shopper. By considering the type of pen you're looking for, your budget, and your preferences, you’ll be able to find the writing instrument that best suits your needs. So, go ahead—start your search, and enjoy the process of finding the perfect pen to enhance your writing experience.

Yesterday I decided I wanted to use a mini duffle bag instead of my pebble backpack I've been using since last year when I made it. So I pulled up a saved pattern of mine and loaded up the YouTube video.
The instructions the patterns link took me to was rough to follow and even though the YouTube tutorial wasn't the best, it helped me through with the steps to where I don't think I'll need the video again for if I want to make a bag to sell.
So to start this project, I stared at my tub of fabrics for a good while before deciding on my only yard of cotton duck fabric with the Eiffel Tower and a hot air balloon.

I figured out an interior fabric and cut the pieces down to the size the pattern asked for. I made sure to center out the tower and balloon on the main panels since those were the focal points I wanted on the bag and cut the rest of the pieces with the script and other objects around.

And then I began...
First I put the straps together folding the long edges in by not even a half inch then folding the strap in half and sewing both edges. They seemed short at first but once the bag is together, the top of the bag falls down into it's duffle bag shape.

Once the straps were done, I put the inside pocket together on the inside lining and pinned the straps to the main panels. To do this I sewed the bottom on, went to one side, across the top 3 inches away from the top of the panel, then back down to the bottom.
And was off to the zipper!

The zipper was tricky but not attaching it... It was finding a zipper that I wanted to use. I didn't want the typical zipper I've been using that's moreso for wallets, I wanted a hefty zipper that had a good pull. But I didn't have any so I went in search through the house.
First I took a zipper off a waterproof bag I had. It was long but honestly once it was off the bag - it was flimsy. From there I searched some more and came across an old case I never used anymore. The zipper was heavy with a nice pull that matched the style of this bag, but it was somewhat short. But I could deal with that. There's a three quarter gap between the zipper ends and the bag edges, but I've seen it before on bags and could deal.
So I attached fabric tabs to both ends of the zipper (mainly to keep the zipper pull on the teeth and it also makes it look nicer) and attached the zipper to the panels.

I pressed the folds and top stitched.
Working the side panels was the hardest part to be honest. The video showed a quick little way, but the full explanation I found absent and had to figure it out myself and a couple tries later I managed to attach all four side panels to my panels of exterior and interior fabric.

Once completed and double-checking that there were no holes on the attachments I pulled the bag through the gap left in the lining, checked for the sides imperfections again, and sewed that opening.

The bag was ready and I have to say... I'm pretty impressed with my work.
l'Il be making a sunglass case soon since
everything is so loose inside this bag and
probably a bag organizer too.
I'm debating on making another and selling
on my Etsy Shop so keep an eye open for
that!

In the meantime, happy sewing!

My first short film “Full Circle” took over a year to make. Here’s why.
I starting writing the script in June 2021 but I properly placed the initial efforts into green lighting my short film onto pre production around early march 2022 with the storyboards as the 1st thing to do.I organised 1st pre prod meeting and hiring my film friends as above the line crew in July 2022. Casting finished in late April 2022. Outside of my group of friends, I externally hired a film armourer to cover the legalities along with supplying the prop weapons on set and a talented hair + make up artist for the femme fatale character
It cost around $5k in total to make. Some expenses covered by the exec producer and a couple of my mates but mostly from me.
Equipment purchases
Equipment rental costs
Paying crew
Paying cast
Premiere costs.
Merch costs
Film festival fees
I was busy working on other film related projects and other jobs in parallel to the production. The editor and foley artist didn’t start post production until December 2022. The colour grading on my part took a lot of time perfecting as I was compositing the overall black and white grade along with all the reds present in certain shots. The manual process was abysmally slow as I had to manually scan and composite the monotone and reds frame by frame due to quick actions from the cast.I was also saving up for merchandise and screening costs to prepare for the film screening.
The foley artist was taking a long time as well as going M.I.A temporarily (due to being in between gigs at the time), putting post production to a stand still until all the stems were sent to the post sound mixer.
My best friend that helped me immensely on the short passed away during post production. Had to grieve greatly.
I dedicated the premier to my friend. I also donated my cut of the profits to “Epi-awareness” out of solidarity to my greatest friend. Episodic-awareness is a charity currently in development from the parents of my deceased friend. the aim is to raise awareness on the critical dependancy people have on episodic pens for health reasons along with 2 other agendas. One is to use the donations to supply episodic pens for people who need them but cannot afford them and for businesses to equip into their first aid kits in parts of the world where epi pens are optional rather than compulsory.
After the screening, I Submitted Full Circle to various film festivals around the world whilst simultaneously selling Full Circle onto my website and these TVOD (transactional Video on Demand) platforms;
- Koji
- Gumroad
- Payhip
Whilst Full Circle was going through the film festival process, i also dealt with the remaining unsold merchandise from my premier screening via contacting my local clothing boutiques that sell the kind of apparel that my t-shirts matched the style of. I Had 1 successful consignment deal with a local boutique. Came to a 50/50 split agreement. I left my T-shirts in the store for a month and hoping I get a few bites. Any T-shirts left, i will try to sell via Facebook marketplace, Etsy, Amazon, Wish and of course, ebay. Give it a month to try that method and if there are still any t-shirts remaining, i’ll just give to the rest of the cast/crew (assuming i have one for their size).
Once Full Circle has finished the film festival circuit, I'll self distribute Full circle onto all SVOD (Subscription Video on Demand) & AVOD (Advertising Video on Demand) platforms that accept and monetise short films. I'll write another blog with an update If you wish to see full circle there instead. I’ve also added the Full Circle poster T-shirt to my apparel store YOTKO Apparel if you want to grab one for yourself there.
I write this blog to send a message of hope for first time filmmakers that are all pumped up on creating their first project. Good things take patience as good art is never rushed. Whether it takes an hour or a decade to get your art made and known worldwide, do it.
