Unveiling the Elixir of Youth: Gold Peptide Anti-Aging Essence and Black Rose Facial Anti-Aging Essence
In the quest for eternal youth, the beauty industry is constantly evolving, introducing innovative products designed to defy the hands of time. Two remarkable contenders in the realm of anti-aging skincare are the Gold Peptide Anti-Aging Essence and the Black Rose Facial Anti-Aging Essence. These luxurious formulations promise to rejuvenate and revitalize the skin, providing a potent blend of precious ingredients to combat the signs of aging. Let's delve into the secrets behind these elixirs and explore how they can transform your skincare routine.
Gold Peptide Anti-Aging Essence:
Gold has been revered for centuries for its opulence and healing properties, and its inclusion in skincare is no exception. The Gold Peptide Anti-Aging Essence combines the regal allure of gold with powerful peptides to create a formula that targets multiple facets of aging skin.
Tumblr media
Collagen Synthesis:
Gold nanoparticles in the essence stimulate collagen production, promoting skin elasticity and firmness. This helps reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, leaving the skin looking plump and youthful.
Cellular Regeneration:
Peptides, the building blocks of proteins, play a crucial role in cellular repair. The essence's peptide complex supports the skin's natural regeneration process, aiding in the repair of damaged skin cells and promoting a more radiant complexion.
Hydration Boost:
The Gold Peptide Anti-Aging Essence also includes hydrating ingredients that help maintain the skin's moisture balance. This ensures a supple and dewy complexion, combating dryness and contributing to a smoother skin texture.
Black Rose Facial Anti-Aging Essence:
Roses have long been associated with beauty and love, and the Black Rose Facial Anti-Aging Essence harnesses the power of this iconic flower to combat aging. Infused with black rose extract, this essence offers a sensory experience while delivering potent anti-aging benefits.
Antioxidant Protection:
Black rose extract is rich in antioxidants, providing the skin with protection against free radicals. This helps prevent premature aging caused by environmental stressors, such as pollution and UV radiation.
Tumblr media
Brightening and Even Tone:
The essence's formulation targets uneven skin tone and dark spots. Regular use can result in a brighter complexion as it works to fade hyperpigmentation and promote a more uniform skin tone.
Pore Refinement:
Black Rose Facial Anti-Aging Essence includes ingredients that help minimize the appearance of pores. This creates a smoother canvas, giving the skin a refined and polished look.
Conclusion:
Both the Gold Peptide Anti-Aging Essence and the Black Rose Facial Anti-Aging Essence offer unique approaches to skincare, combining the richness of gold and the elegance of black roses to address the multifaceted concerns of aging skin. Incorporating these luxurious essences into your daily routine can be a delightful and effective way to pamper your skin, unveiling a more youthful and radiant complexion. As with any skincare product, consistency is key, so embrace the ritual and let the power of gold and black roses redefine your journey towards timeless beauty.

How to choose skin care products for different ages? A whole set is ready for you
According to the skin needs of all age groups, we will help you match a full set of skin care products, just copy them directly!
20~25 years old
This is the peak state of the skin, just need to do the basic moisturizing work
▪ Water: Clarins powder water, suitable for sisters who often stay up late, can refine pores, improve roughness, and the texture is very refreshing
▪ Essence: Lancome small black bottle, which belongs to the moisturizing and stable essence, which can improve the repairing power of the skin
▪ Eye cream: Estee Lauder eye cream in a small brown bottle, which has good moisturizing power, can prevent eye lines, and can also dilute dark circles
▪ Face cream: Kiehl's high moisturizing face cream, the moisturizing power is really worthy of its name
25~35 years old
Collagen begins to lose, and the skin ages faster. You need to use EOPE, peptides, and Bosein to fight aging and light lines
▪ Water: Helena's small dewdrops have an oil-in-water texture, moist but not oily, and anti-aging ingredients are wrapped in the small dewdrops
▪ Essence: Clinique Purple Light Anti-aging Essence, using a new generation of super A alcohol HPR instead of A alcohol, it can improve various facial lines and prevent aging without building tolerance
▪ Eyes: VIlcode 02M OXYGEN EYE MASK FOR ALL NIGHT REPAIR, which has an obvious effect on lightening dry lines and fine lines, and can also lighten dark circles
Tumblr media
▪ Facial cream: Lancome Pure Facial Cream, anti-yellowing and brightening, but also lifting and firming, making the skin firm and shiny
35+
The speed of skin aging increases rapidly, the skin becomes slack, and with the breakdown of collagen, irreversible wrinkles will be formed, so it is necessary to use the lady line products with the effect of firming and lightening lines
▪️Water: Lancome pure rose water, very moisturizing, suitable for mature dry skin, with a layer of oil film feeling after use
▪️ Essence: L'Oreal Anti-Time Essence, added Bosein and A-alcohol, multi-directional anti-aging, firming and lightening lines, and very cost-effective
▪️Face cream: Helena black bandage, added 30% Bosein, can fill and plump the skin, make the face puff up, and the repairing effect is also very good
▪️Eye cream:T2 OXYGEN EYE CREAM 03.0 , repairing, lightening, firming, and brightening all-round, not only solves a single eye problem

Lush Lift Cream Reviews : We're fans of all the skin-softening exfoliating products, particularly the Exfoliate Cleanser—it combines two necessary skincare steps without sacrificing results. One of the pillars of luxury French skincare, Lesley Paris blends botanical extracts with anti-aging formulas that feel uniquely lush and decadent. This black rose dry oil is a savior for ultra-dry or sensitive skin.

This Ayurveda Facial Kit box is a best solution to give bright, glow & flawless skin. This water-type essence provides suppleness and hydration to the skin to brighten and soften your complexion. Lush Lift Face Cream contains Saccharomyces Ferment which helps reduce the appearance of fine lines, dullness, and uneven skin tone. Here are Medical News Today‘s skin health tips to help you banish wrinkles, get a radiant glow, and keep your skin supple and soft all year around. Genetics, aging, hormones, and conditions such as diabetes are internal factors that affect the skin.

Also known as gotu kola, this Ayurvedic herb is now widely used in anti-aging serums and creams. Lush Lift Cream can prove to be tricky while it comes to choosing the right beauty products. Wash the mask off using lukewarm water, then pat it dry with a soft, clean towel. Skip the hot water when bathing or showering, and use lukewarm water instead. Hot water can feel relaxing, but it can also strip your skin of its natural oils.

My Monthly Favorites - Best of 2019 Beauty Products
by Rosy Day Blog
I just realized I haven't posted any of my monthly favorites since April 2019. I think I've had a lot of different products to try out/post about on social media, so I just really forgot about the monthly/semi-monthly blog posts. If you've been following me for awhile now, it's the usual excuses, right? LOL. I can't guarantee I'll do more postings this year, but at least now I'm able to share my favorite products from 2019 (even if it's about a month late). Some of the products aren't "new" favorites, but are older products that I didn't realize how much I loved or needed in my routine until I started using them again. Always a wonderful feeling right?

SKINCARE
Cleanser
Fresh Soy Face Cleanser
Tumblr media
I love this cleanser because at least for me, it seems to help keep my skin nice and supple every time I use it (mainly because of all the amino acids). It’s also very gentle and one of the few cleansers that my sensitive skin can actually take (this is low pH). Some might not like the smell, but it just smells like cucumber infused water to me. It is also kind of pricey for a cleanser, but you get a freaking 5.1 oz. Some brands are cheaper but they barely give you like 3.4 oz. This stuff does last me over 4 months, so no worries there. Interesting ingredients include soybean oil (antioxidant, smooths & moisturizes skin w/ vitamin E and fatty acids), sunflower seed oil, starflower seed oil (restores moisture & smoothness), aloe barbadensis leaf juice (soothing & anti-inflammatory), cucumber fruit extract, damask rose extract & flower water, cornflower extract (anti-inflammatory, diminish fine lines & tone skin around eyes), soybean sterols (anti-inflammatory & skin conditioning), panax ginseng root extract (skin smoothing & firming), damask rose flower oil (soothing & pore tightening), and hydrolyzed soy protein (anti-aging & firming). » Buy Product
Cleansing/Light Exfoliating Toner
Son & Park Beauty Water
Tumblr media
I keep coming back to this toner because it gives me daily but gentle exfoliation (I don't do well with very strong actives), and is one of the few things that helps get rid of those pesky dry flakes on my skin. Sometimes it's just not enough to properly hydrate, but you do need a gentle product to help clear out dead skin in order to see new, hydrated skin. This also makes a great multi-tasker when I need to cleanse and tone all in one (I don't wear much makeup most of the time anyway). Normal to oily skin would love this, though it's not the most hydrating when you're more dry. No one said you're not allowed to use a thicker, more hydrating toner after this (in fact many use more than one toner in their routine). Interesting ingredients include rosa damascena flower water (soothing & pore tightening), witch hazel (fights acne & inflammation), bergamot fruit oil (anti-bacterial & antibiotic), olive fruit oil (vitamin A & E), grapefruit peel oil (toning & firming), papaya fruit water (exfoliating & brightening), jasmine oil (anti-aging & moisturizing), anise fruit/seed oil (smoothing & tightening), artemisia absinthium extract (healing & protecting), tea tree leaf extract (anti-inflammatory & anti-bacterial), and rosemary leaf extract (antioxidant & improves circulation). » Buy Product
First Treatment Essence
Then I Met You The Giving Essence
Tumblr media
This has 80% ferments: galactomyces (nourish and revitalize skin & reduce/delay aging), aspergillus (skin lightening & reducing melanin), and saccharomyces (hydrating & balancing). Other interesting ingredients include niacinamide (brightening & balancing), aloe barbadensis leaf juice (soothing & anti-inflammatory), ellagic acid (an antioxidant that prevents sun damage, blocks MMP that breaks down collagen& reduces ICAM that causes inflammation; lightening properties rivals that of hydroquinone and tretinoin), black chokeberry (one of the berries/fruit with the highest levels of antioxidants, anti-aging & skin calming), polyglutamic acid (water-soluable peptide that holds 4x more moisture than hyaluronic acid), red algae (brightening & reducing dark spots), and purslane (more omega-3 fatty acids than fish oil). There is also 11 additional berries (high in antioxidants and vitamins for fighting free radical damage; they can also help skin look brighter & more even-toned). I love this product because it has some ingredients that are different from other essences, especially the ellagic acid and algae (my skin loves this ingredient). There isn't much to see results-wise since I take pretty good care of my skin, but my skin always looks just a little bit healthier after using this overtime. » Buy Product
Anti-Aging Serum
The Ordinary "Buffet"
Tumblr media
Just like I am with food, sometimes I get greedy and want a little bit of everything. The appropriately named "Buffet" serum does just that. Serious anti-aging ingredients include: Syn-Ake peptide complex, Matrixyl 3000 and Matrixyl Synthe'6 peptide complexes, and Relistase peptide complex. Probiotics are also included for balancing and and strengthening skin's defenses. As cheap as this is (it's about $15 USD for 1 oz.), you might think that this product is too good to be true. Maybe it is at that price point, but I do know that my face seems to stay nice and firm the longer that I use this and anti-aging is all about prevention anyway. I don't know if it's actually improving my wrinkles, but I'd rather not let them get worse and this little bottle has tons of good stuff (and proven anti-aging ingredients) inside. » Buy Product
Brightening & Hydrating Serum
Bliss Glow & Hydrate
Tumblr media
I've never realized how good niacinamide was until I bought this, which claims to have "spa grade" niacinamide. Yes, many skincare products already have niacinamide in them, but it's a big difference when you use a product that has a good percentage of niacinamide (it should be within the top 3 ingredients). This pairs perfectly after my vitamin C serum and its thicker emulsion-like consistency makes it fairly hydrating as well. If you want brighter, more even skin, unless you're super sensitive to these 2 ingredients - all you really need is vitamin C and niacinamide. Niacinamide also helps with balancing your skin and minimizing pores. Interesting ingredients include aloe barbadensis leaf juice (soothing & anti-inflammatory), licorice root (reduces under-eye circles, discoloration & age spots), soybean oil (antioxidant, smooths & moisturizes skin w/ vitamin E and fatty acids), sunflower seed oil (vitamin E & good for acne/redness/irritation), oat kernel oil (rich in lipids & fatty acids), and shea butter (healing & highly moisturizing). » Buy Product
Hydrating Eye Cream
Glossier Bubblewrap Eye + Lip Plumping Cream
Tumblr media
As much as I love a good brightening and/or anti-aging eye cream, sometimes all you need is a good hydrating eye cream to help smooth fine lines and give your eyes some moisture to wake them up a bit. Yes this eye cream is a bit basic, but I love it for during the day as it smooths my eyes enough that any fine lines are reduced, and makes any makeup I apply after less likely to crease. In fact, all this smoothness and lack of creasing has made my eye area look more youthful. It doesn't do anything for brightening, but that's what I use vitamin C and niacinamide for. And if I need more serious anti-wrinkle power, I can always use an eye cream that tackles that for night. A lot of people rave about the Belif Aqua Bomb Eye Cream, but that gave me millia. This one doesn't and it comes in a convenient pump. It does slightly plump your lips/preps them for lipstick, etc. as well, but I prefer to use Bubblewrap for my eyes only. Interesting ingredients include squalane (balances oil production & anti-aging), avocado oil (healing & calms itchy skin), peptide complex, hydrolyzed vegetable protein, blueberry fruit extract, purslane, swertia, and sunflower seed oil. » Buy Product
Facial Oil/Hydrating Primer
Glossier Futuredew
Tumblr media
I was afraid of using this because I tend to be more oily but I think that this is very wearable no matter what your skin type (unless you're sensitive/allergic to any of the ingredients). Dry skin probably needs the recommended 2 pumps, normal/combo can do 1 pump, and if you're extremely oily you can just use this on the high points of your face like a highlighter. Depending how much you use and how many layers of skincare you used prior to the Futuredew (also if you use foundation after), this can give you anywhere from a subtle lit from within/highlighter glow to a semi-wet type of look. I love this because for me it's a good facial oil/primer hybrid and it seems to make me look healthier whenever I use it. My face seems to stay nice and plump as well. I don't know if it has any long term benefits but it's always a plus to at least hydrate. Interesting ingredients include squalane (balances oil production & anti-aging), jojoba, evening primrose (anti-inflammatory, soothes acne & prevents future breakouts), olive, grape seed, rosa canina fruit, evodia rutaecarpa fruit, and rosemary. » Buy Product
Hydrating Lip Balm
Biossance Rose Vegan Lip Balm
Tumblr media
Although this seems like your basic petroleum jelly-like lip balm in a pot, I do love how this is vegan and I can smell a bit of the rose in here. Lip balm is very hard to recommend because what can work for you can be very drying for me and vice versa. My favorite way to use this is just a standard hydrating balm and then I'll layer a tinted lip balm or other colored lip product over it (if during the day) or the Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask to seal in the hydration before sleeping (if at night). I feel like this does plump my lips a bit but nothing too drastic that someone would really notice. Interesting ingredients include squalane, ceramide NP, rosa damascena, and undaria pinnatifida. » Buy Product
Tinted Lip Balm
Milk Kush Lip Balm
Tumblr media
I'll admit I bought this because of the CBD, but this is a nice tinted lip balm if you're like me and prefer a hint of color rather than full on lipstick. Because of my full lips, I stopped wearing lipstick since I also got some on my chin everytime I ate food (not a pretty sight). Tinted lip balms, I don't have that problem and they're very easy to re-apply as you don't need a mirror like you do with lipstick. While this isn't the most hydrating tinted lip balm (I recommend the more expensive Fresh lip balms), I do like how fairly cheap (compared to Fresh) these are and they don't necessarily make my lips drier. If I really do have dry lips, I use something like the Biossance Vegan Rose Lip Balm first, and then this. Or I just make sure to properly moisturize with the Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask the night before. Interesting ingredients include olive oil, jojoba, shea butter, sunflower, mango butter, moringa oil, coconut oil, cocoa seed butter, cannabis sativa, and rosemary. » Buy Product
Light Soothing & Hydrating Mask
Laneige Water Sleeping Mask
Tumblr media
Lightly hydrating, making it perfect for more oily skin and/or warmer temps. I keep coming back to this because despite it not advertising much other than hydration and a restful sleep due to their Sleep Tox technology, this is actually pretty soothing. I always seems to calm down any inflamed pores I have by the next morning, yet isn't so overly hydrating/suffocating. Interesting ingredients include evening primrose root (anti-inflammatory, soothes acne & prevents future breakouts), apricot (removes blemishes & improves skin tone), beta-glucan (skin healing & collagen building), quinoa seed (treats acne & brightens skin), and ascorbyl glucoside (water soluble derivative of vitamin C). » Buy Product
MAKEUP
Makeup Primer
Milk Makeup Hydro Grip Primer
Tumblr media
At first I was afraid that this would be too hydrating but it's actually just hydrating enough for my combination skin without adding grease. I know some people might not like the stickiness/tackiness of this product, but this reminds me of a less sticky (and better) version of the J.One Jelly. I liked how that product made my face look before and after makeup application, but I hated all the additional slapping I had to do on my face and it seemed to take forever to absorb (not good if you're in a rush). With the Hydro Grip Primer, you still have to kind of pat it into your face/slap it around a bit but it's not as bad and your face is ready for foundation after about 50 to 55 seconds (but don't wait longer than a minute). I never once thought primers did a great job of keeping my makeup look fresh throughout the day, but this one does. I look almost the same by the end of the day. Even more amazing is I accidentally fell asleep with my makeup on and the very next day, it was still intact and looked fairly fresh, LOL. I'm not suggesting you should try that, but just saying...It does happen that you fall asleep with makeup on sometimes. Interesting ingredients include aloe barbadensis, agave tequilana, niacinamide, cannabis sativa, opuntia ficus-indica flower, and prunus avium flower. » Buy Product
Foundation
Milk Makeup Blur Liquid Matte Foundation
Tumblr media
Having combination skin, I used to think this foundation was a tad drying around my nose area but that was because I wasn't properly moisturizing around the clock and my skin benefits the best from gentle, but daily exfoliation. My favorite way to wear this is to make sure my skin is hydrated enough, prime with the Glossier Futuredew and/or Milk Hydro Grip Primer, and I get a nice glowy but not greasy look. I do like dewy looks, but I find if you specifically use dewy/hydrating foundations, they don't last long. I think it's better to use hydrating skincare (that's right for your skin type), and then use a matte foundation over. The matte foundation lasts longer than the dewy/hydrating types, but you are still hydrating from within because of your skincare. I also prefer to apply this very sparingly (like tinted moisturizer) with my fingers. Fingers are best to avoid dry spots and weird creasing areas in my opinion. I wear this in the shade Medium Light. » Buy Product
Mascara Base
Lancome Cils Booster XL Super-Enhancing Mascara Base
Tumblr media
I already have a mascara that I love, but if you really want more of a false eyelashes look, you should definitely use a good mascara base like this one. I feel like it always improves the stay power of your mscara, though I always use waterproof mascara to prevent/limit smudging anyway. I don't use this all the time, but just when I want some more oomph with my lashes. Most of the time I go bare or just more simple with my mascara. Interesting ingredients include rice brand wax, carnauba wax, bees wax, and candelilla wax. » Buy Product
Volumizing Mascara
L'Oreal Voluminous Lash Paradise Mascara
Tumblr media
This was recommended to me by a Target employee and it's probably the best (and affordable) mascara that I've used so I keep coming back to this. Though my eye lashes are naturally fairly long and curled, this just takes them up 1-2 notches depending on my application. I always get this in waterproof (because when you have long lashes mascara smudges everytime you blink) and in the color Blackest Blck. » Buy Product
HAIR & BODY CARE
Dry/Itchy Scalp Treatment
Briogeo Scalp Revival Charcoal + Coconut Oil Micro-Exfoliating Shampoo
Tumblr media
It's hard to find a good shampoo for a dry, itchy scalp. Popular Head & Shoulders actually makes my scalp more dry for some reason. Now, the Briogeo isn't perfect, but because of its ingredients, it does help with this weird eczema-like rash I currently have on the back of my head (no thanks to trying out some Kristin Ess shampoo and conditioner which I will never use again). I love the minty smell and it does feel a bit cooling on my scalp as well. The only thing I hate is that since it comes in a jar, I always have a bit of water from the shower going into it. Since this is a scrub shampoo, you don't necessarily have to stop using your favorite shampoo if you have one. You can just use the Briogeo once or twice a week, or as needed to keep your scalp healthy. The larger sized jar is ery expensive so I'm unsure if I will re-purchase at this time to be honest, but I at least want to try other products in their scalp care line. Interesting ingredients include binchotan charcoal, coconut oil, tea tree, ginger root, and panthenol. » Buy Product
Hair Oil
Verb Ghost Hair Oil
Tumblr media
I already love the Verb Ghost Shampoo and Conditioner, so it's only natural that I love their hair oil from the same line for finishing my hair as well. Whether I blow dry or air dry my hair, I like to use a little bit of this over the end ends/bottom half of my hair to calm flyaways and make it look sleek and shiny (thought this does look nicer when you've had the time to actually blow dry your hair). Interesting ingredients include argan, rice bran, bamboo, soy protein, and moringa. » Buy Product
Hydrating SPF
Tumblr media
Kylie Skin Body Oil Spray
Say what you will about Kylie Jenner (I'm not some crazed Kylie fan) but I legit love this body oil spray. It smells good and is a very convenient way to apply SPF. I get dry skin and I like never have the time to properly hydrate before applying sunscreen and leaving my apartment. Most body sunscreens are very thick and seem to take forever to rub down before it leaves a slight white cast and dries out your skin. I now have another hydrating sunscreen that I use as well, but I just like reaching for this one because of the scent and I can just spray and go for the most part. Interesting ingredients include... » Buy Product
Toning & Firming Body Cream
Sol De Janeiro Bum Bum Cream
Tumblr media
This is hyped for a reason. I feel like this not only firms your butt (it's just the name of the cream) but it firms everywhere else you apply it. My arms were a bit dry so I decided to apply some on there and my bf commented it looked like I've been working out a bit on my arms. Now, keep in mind I'm already fairly small, so it's not like just applying this cream will automatically make it look like you've been hitting the gym. The scent, while popular with most, I do feel is a bit strong. This is why I mainly use this at night before bed. I always feel a bit self conscious like I'm giving the people around me a headache from the scent. It's so strong, it definitely lingers onto the next day. Interesting ingredients include guaraná, coconut, açaí, carrot, ilex guayusa, ilex paraguariensis, brazil nut, and squalane. » Buy Product

Skin Infusion Device
Tumblr media
Spa Sciences Aero
I’ve often heard how you should warm up a product in your hand or between your fingers before applying...This takes it to another level - like you’re ironing the wrinkles off your face...Aero is one of the very few skin care infusion devices I’ve come across that heats up in addition to the ionic and sonic technologies. I wasn’t sure what to expect with a product that heated up, but upon first use, it felt quite nice and maybe even a bit relaxing. I don’t know if there’s any truth to stimulating collagen production...But we exercise our bodies to keep it firm and young, why not our face? [su_note note_color="#f7fde5"] 10 Best Lotion For Eczema For Itchy Skin Best Indoor Tanning Lotions Review 10 Best Tinted Moisturizer With SPF Reviews [/su_note] What do you consider every time you are on the search for a new body lotion? A good body lotion is one that moisturizes your skin. However, not all moisturizers are meant to be used by everyone. You need to be critical when making your selection. Here are some of the methods suggested by dermatologists. Always consider your Skin Type First The type of your skin plays a critical role in identifying the body lotion that you need. A dry skin calls for a body lotion that can add extra moisture to the skin surface. For oily skin, you may consider using a lighter moisturizer that is without mineral waxes, mineral oils and any other ingredients that may cause the clogging of your skin pores. For such a skin you want to use an oil-free moisturizer alongside a lotion of good quality. If you are keen on having a beautiful, healthy and flawless skin choosing a good body lotion for your skin care routine is necessary. Good body lotion will help you prevent your skin from attaining pre-mature wrinkles, acne or any other skin issues. If you have sensitive skin, you may seek solace in acquiring body lotions that are labeled as hypoallergenic. These lotions are made free from any items that may cause harm to your type of skin such as dyes, preservatives or even fragrances. Always Go through the Ingredient Label Going through the ingredient list used in formulating a body lotion is a necessary consideration. With the increased number of body lotions in the market, a majority of them have no concern about the effects some ingredients have on the skin. They are only in the market for profit. Here are a few of the elements that should call for immediate red flags when you see them. Parabens You should be concerned if you see ingredients such as Methylparaben, Butylparaben, and ethylparaben. They may be useful in inhibiting the growth of fungi on the human skin. However, they are potential risks to a hormonal disruption that may eventually lead to breast cancer. Fragrance and Parfum Some body-lotions include synthetic fragrances. These fragrances such as synthetic phthalates can as well be found in several cosmetics and even insecticides. They are harmful to the body organs as they emit toxic substances that cause allergies and asthma. They are as well instrumental in air pollution. Butylated Hydroxyanisole (BHA) The National Toxicology program has grouped BHA as a food preservative. However, you will find it in body lotions and lipsticks. When the BHA is used in body lotions, it disrupts the endocrine and is also considered to be a human carcinogen. Retinyl Palmitate You can find this ingredient in beauty products that have anti-aging properties. An experiment done on mice that were exposed to Retinyl Palmitate the later to UV light indicated that they developed tumors. It is best to avoid a body lotion with this ingredient entirely. However, if you are using one, use it only at night. DMDM Hydantoin DMDM Hydantoin is noted to be formaldehyde that releases preservatives used in the manufacturing of a majority of cosmetics and personal care items among them the body lotion. It leads to eye and skin irritation. There is no definite proof of DMDM Hydantoin being carcinogenic, but Hydantoin on its own is carcinogenic. Triethanolamine This ingredient is used to balance the pH levels in a body lotion. It is dangerous as it has been seen to cause cancer in animals. It is as well toxic to the body’s immune system and leads to skin if employed for extended use. Does Weather have an Impact on the Type of Lotion to Use? Weather indeed plays an essential role in the type of lotion you should use. During cold seasons like winter, it is advisable to get body lotions that help in attracting and locking in moisture in the skin. Such a cream should contain ingredients like glycerin, mineral oils, alpha hydroxyl acids, and lanolin. When it is hot, you may consider getting body lotions and moisturizers that are light. Is It Good To Use Body Lotion on The Face? The skin on the face is thinner compared to the rest of the body. It is more sensitive and is prone to breakouts. Therefore before using body lotion on the face, it is right first to consider some factors. The ingredients that make up a lotion should be enough to tell you if a moisturizer is good for the face. You may want to avoid using creams with minerals oils on the face. Mineral oils are way too heavy on the thin skin and are likely to clog the skin pores. A good face moisturizer has to be lightweight and have specific responsibilities such as dealing with skin acne or getting rid of wrinkles and fine lines on the face. Only a few body lotions meet this requirement. Even so, you should always remember that the ingredients used in body lotions are very similar to those in facial products, facial skin and body skin have very different properties. It is best to give both of them the best care possible to keep them healthy. Summing Up When choosing a body lotion, you should always look at getting one that meets the needs of your skin. Be keen on the ingredients in use and see if they provide value to your skin. If you encounter any allergic reaction stop using the lotion immediately. For individual skin cases, it may be good if you consult a dermatologist. Lazy Monk Lavender Foot Exfoliating Mask Review
Since I have my feet exfoliated recently, this foot peel mask would not see much effects on me. Instead, I have found a victim that have never exfoliated their feet nor give their feet much tender loving care.
Tumblr media
Condition of the feet before the mask
This virgin foot is not only filled with dead skin at the base but it has various calluses around the edge the toe. The skin was also rather dark and dry for the sun is a cruel star.
Tumblr media
Although the mask is said to be free size, there is a limit to “free size”. We found that limit to be 43. Although my victim can fit into the mask, it was tight and snugged. Due to the size limitation, the juices in the mask didn’t touch on the top of the foot. On the other hand, it did soak the toes which are a blessing.
The mask did have a strong lavender mixed with the acid smell. As my victim have sensitive skin, his feet did start to feel prickly after 15 to 20 minutes but it was not a huge issue.
Tumblr media
After application | Day 0
After a 30 - 45 minutes application, we took off the mask and rinse off the excess. Instantly, the feet became a shade lighter than before. Aside from the wrinkly toes, there are no other visible changes to the feet.
Tumblr media
The bottom starts to peel | Day 3
The process of exfoliation and peeling varies differs according to one’s skin type and the conditions of the feet. It took 2 to 3 days for these huge feet to peel. The peeling process starts from the bottom. If you look closely, a huge part of the top was gone. Although it was encouraged to let the feet peel naturally, certain things are bound to happen if you wear slippers all day.
Tumblr media
It’s starting to peel! | Day 6
By day 6, the sides and bottom of the feet were fully peeling. When rain hits it, it looked as though he was shedding in his slippers. The once black slipper instantly became white and that was a sight to behold.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Left the toes and sides of the feet| Day 9
Day 9 was when the old skin on the toes start to drop off more prominently. One could see patches of pink amid dark brown. A beautiful pattern was created in the sea of brown. The bottom, the sides also left distinct differences between the area that have been soaked with the foot peel’s essence and the top that was not reached.
Tumblr media
Fully peeled | Day 16
After two weeks, the Lazy Monk Foot Peel mask has finally done its deed. The once hard and rough feet have transformed into a soft, moisturized angel baby’s feet. It was a wonderful experience that involved him leaving a piece of himself everywhere he goes. A foot peel mask that serves its purpose and attracted the most masculine men’s attention - trust me, you can ask my victim’s friends.
Unfortunately, the Lazy Monk Foot Peel have been decommissioned but you can head to Lazy Monk to check out some travel camping hammocks, dry bag outdoor and nature specialist products.

2019 Family Skincare Sets!
Hello everyone!
Here is a summary of the items in your kit! I also included the containers, *edi* and will soon list a few products I wanted to add, but didn’t quite make the minimalist, universal cut.
I thought about nerding out on the ingredient/formula decisions, but thought it might be too wordy and boring! Let me know if you’re interested in my criteria for selecting ingredients to put on skin.
“1 - Oil Cleanser” by ROHTO – Hada Labo Gokujun Oil Cleanse
$13.48 for 6.76 oz – $1.99/oz (link: from “Kyotoite” Amazon seller: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07GGV7VFM/ref=cm_sw_r_tw_dp_U_x_eALlCbGVD8P1H)
This is an olive oil-based cleanser which is effective enough to remove even heavy, waterproof makeup and sunscreen, while respecting the moisture barrier of the skin. It also is safe for the eye area— this was important to me. I discovered a lot of men and women use these cleansers in Japan, and was hooked. Used Mac’s and Cliniques for awhile, but this is far more economical, natural derived, and fragrance free. Rohto/Hada Labo is a Japanese company, and happens to be an “Amazon’s Choice” product.
To use: Make sure hands are clean, and both face/hands are dry. Pour a nickel sized amount on hands. Lightly disperse on hands before massaging face. Massage for 15 seconds, rinse hands, and add wet hands to massage for another 15 seconds. Repeat massaging and rinsing hands 1-2 more times, and rinse away the rest from face. Optionally, follow with your regular cleanser, though I rarely find it necessary, it does feel good after the gym or during the summer. I recommend the COSRX Low-pH Good Morning Cleanser ($7.50-$11) for a more traditional cleanser. For a lower priced, US-based gentle makeup remover/cleanser, I recommend the pink-capped Garnier micellar cleansing water, available at all drugstores.
“2 - Essence“ by COSRX – Propolis Light Ampule
$19.26 for 20 ml – $28.75/oz (it is $28 direct or from Ulta, but easily found for less on Amazon. Product in my experience is identical and authentic. Have also purchased on JoyPink Ebay seller’s page. Here is amazon link: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00XY3JBUU/ref=cm_sw_em_r_mt_dp_U_hMLlCb4B2GT09)
Propolis Light Ampule is intensive caring ampule with 83% of Black Bee Propolis Extract and naturally originated moisturizing ingredients which will make your skin glowy and smooth without stickiness! I love this, it gives a lasting and noticeable glow. This step is a “humectant” based product that you can use before other skin treatments without it effecting penetration, and will boost the moisture retention capabilities of your skin!
To use: a small amount— one to three “drops”, or about a pea size (partial pump from sample container) is all you should need. You can use this “straight”, or mix with an carrier face oil for intensive moisture— I like sweet almond, hemp, or MCTs, and sometimes I will add a drop or two of rosa damascena oil to this face oil, if I’m feeling fancy. Mom, dad and grandma got sweet almond with the rose oil, instead of the exfoliator.
For most times, I just use this straight and under moisturizer. Lightly disperse the pea-ish size amount and fingertips to warm it up a bit, and tap/press all over face. Avoid getting in the eyes. After patting/tapping until absorbed, quickly move on to moisturizer to seal it in.
Caution (from box)
1. For external use only. 2. Do not use on damaged or broken skin. 3. Stop using and ask a doctor if rash occurs. 4. When using this product, keep out of eyes. Rinse with water to remove. 5. Keep out of reach of children. 6. If product is swallowed, get medical help or contact Poison Control Center.
For less expensive alternatives, try their Galactomyces 95 Tone Balancing Essence (I really like this one and I got it for Claire) or their Snail 96 Essence for more anti-aging benefits. CosrRX is a South Korean brand popular in the States.
“3 - Moisturizer“ by COSRX – Balancium Comfort Ceramide Cream
$26 for 2.82 fl oz – $9.23/fl oz: https://www.amazon.com/COSRX-Balancium-Comfort-Ceramide-Cream/dp/B07CZZ2QGB
From box: A lightweight facial moisturizer that soothes irritated skin while protecting skin barrier. Suitable for all skin types (oily, dry, dehydrated, combination, sensitive skin). Key Ingredients: 10,000 ppm of Ceramide NP, 50% of Centella Asiatica Leaf Water, and 500 ppm of Centella Asiatica Medical Grade Extract. Good for dry, combination, and sensitive skin. Provides soothing, healing, moisturizing, and protective benefits. EWG Verified (Safe Level), Hypoallergenic, Dermatologist Tested, Cruelty Free, Alcohol Free, Artificial Fragrance Free, Artificial Pigment Free, Paraben Free, Sulfates Free, Phthalates Free (also free of other irritants I avoid).
They won’t tell you this, because they have their own eye creams, but it is safe under use around the eye.
To use: Once again, less is more! A pea size amount on back of hand is all that’s needed. Rub the product between your fingers to warm it up. Gently massage on to face until absorbed, starting on areas most prone to dryness (for me, is cheeks/undereye, mouth, above brow). It is preferable to use a spatula, with a jar container, which you can ask for for free (with a sample!) at Sephora. The product itself comes in a large squeeze tube.
For truly oily skin, you can just use the Ampule and mix with a drop or two fo hemp oil, and use this every once in awhile as needed or after exfoliating. This may be a good route to take during the hot, humid summers. Another good option for oily skin is Isntree’s Aloe Gel (Moist Type).
It is incredibly hard to find a moisturizer (or SPF) in the States that meets my criteria.
“X - Exfoliant“ by Meishoku – Detclear Facial Peeling Jelly (Non-Fragrance)
$12.96 for 180 ml/6.08 fl oz – $2.13/fl oz : https://www.amazon.com/dp/B005FO9CJG/ref=cm_sw_em_r_mt_dp_U_z7LlCbKRY0NFC
I purchased and gifted the mixed fruit option, but would do non-fragrance now that it’s available. I come back to these types of exfoliants because they seem to be very gentle yet still effective at getting dead skin off. I will use it on my elbows and hands sometimes, too. Meishoku is a Japanese brand.
From box: A jelly type peeling gel to peel off dirt and dead skin gently. Meishoku Detclear facial peeling gel is made from fruit AHA and plant BHA. The fruit AHA contains fruits extracts such as strawberry, blueberry, cherry, peach, pomegranate and apple acid. The plant BHA is made out from plant extract (I think they mean willow bark here) Meishoku Detclear facial peeling gel can gently remove dead skin cells, melanin, sebum and other impurities on your skin's surface. In addition, it can be used partial area of your face such as nose and chin to remove black spots, pore cloggers and other impurities in pores.
To use: Make sure face is dry, preferably clean, and with no makeup on. Dispense about 3-5 pumps to clean, dry palms (this ends up being about a quarter amount... less isn’t more here). Avoiding eyes and mouth area, gently massage the jelly in a circular motion. Rinse off well with lukewarm water after the impurities comes out. Use once or twice a week.
Containers
Here’s my favorite part! I really like the LDPE dropper bottles because they are child/leak proof and accommodate almost any formula, while easily getting the amount you want out and refilling is relatively easy. It helps me take along my stuff to the gym or during travel with ease.
Prunus LDPE Plastic Dropper Bottles with Multi color Childproof Cap and Longthin Tip (25, 20 ML)
erioctry 5ML Airless Pump Bottle-Empty Refillable Airless Vacuum Pump Cream Lotion Bottle Travel Bottles Toiletries Liquid Container for Cosmetic Make-up Pack of 6 (Transparent) (heads up, cannot use cream or liquid makeup in these)
15ml/0.5 oz, 12 Pack Snow Diamond Empty Amber Round Glass Jars, with White Inner Liners and black Lids, High End Glass Containers for Salve Cream, Premium Vials (15ml/0.5 oz, 12 Pack)
6-Pack Travel Size Plastic Squeeze Bottles for Liquids, 30ml/1oz TSA Approved Makeup Toiletry Cosmetic Containers
Sea Team 6pcs Multicolored Portable Travel Toiletry Pouch Nylon Mesh Cosmetic Makeup Organizer Bag with Zipper
Thank you for reading, and being good sports when receiving this strange gift lol. If if my lateness on this write-up has caused you to use more than the recommended product, I am sorry! Hoping this trial will be long enough to help you discover whether these sort of “clean beauty” / Asian cosmetics make difference, or are of interest to you. Let me know if you have any questions!
Also, thank you ALL for the gifts! Using and loving each and every one :)

Guide to AB
The most important aspects about AB skincare: cleansing, moisturizing, and always wearing sunscreen. Skincare is a bit trial & error, what’s Holy Grail for some, may do nothing/be a nightmare for others. Start with just doing proper cleansing & moisturizing in the beginning. That alone is going to do wonders for your face. Keep it simple as possible in the beginning and do your research. Pay attention to what ingredients work & don’t work for you. What I’m recommending below is the most popular products. Before I buy any product I always search for that product on Asian Beauty Reddit & see what the general opinion is for people with my skin type.
Oil Cleanser
Clean It Zero Purity. (Available on Soko Glam & Amazon)
Burt's Bees Cleansing Oil. (Available at Walgreens, Target, Walmart, etc)
Innisfree Jeju Bija Anti-Trouble Cleansing Gel. (Available on Amazon & Innisfree site)
DHC Deep Cleansing Oil. Available on Amazon
2nd Cleanser (with a low PH)
Why having a low PH cleanser is important
Cosrx Low Ph Good Morning Gel Cleanser *
Innisfree Blueberry low pH cleanser
Missha Super Aqua Cleansing Milk
Paula's Choice Moisture Boost Cleanser
Sulwhasoo Snowise EX Cleansing Foam
Cerave Foaming Facial Cleanser. (Available at Walgreens, Target, Walmart, etc)
Tosowoong Enzyme Powder Wash
Notes on cleansing: 1 Cleanser might be enough for some people. For example, in the morning sometimes I don’t cleanse at all or only do the foaming cleanser. So for absolute newbies, 1 foaming cleanser, moistuzer, and sunscreen is enough. Save your coins.
Tool option:
Konjac sponge! I’ve been using Boscia’s in Charcoal, but there are other options.
Moisturizer (I put day & night moisturizers together)
Cosrx Ultimate Moisturizing Honey Overnight Mask (D/N)
Cosrx Ultimate Nourishing Rice Overnight Mask (N) *
Innisfree The Green Tea Seed Cream (D/N)
Innisfree the Green Tea Seed Deep Cream (N)
Innisfree's Orchid Gel Cream (D)
Cosrx Advanced Snail 92 All in one cream  (D/N)*
MIZON Snail Recovery Gel Cream (D)
MIZON Black Snail All In One Cream (D/N)
SPF
MISSHA All Around Safe Block (several different versions)*
Biore Sarasara UV Aqua Rich Watery Essence Sunscreen *
Cosrx Aloe Soothing Sun Cream
Innisfree Eco Safety Perfect Waterproof Sunblock
Shiseido Senka Aging Care UV Sunscreen SPF50
Innisfree Eco Safety No Sebum Sun Milk

Serums & Ampoules
Serums & Ampoules are imo where you really target your main goal. Mine is erasing (PIH) Post Inflammatory Hyperpigmentation so most serums I can personally recommend deal with that.
Shark Sauce (I’ve only been using it off and no for about 2 months, but I’m really impressed by the results. A bit pricy, but a travel size is available for $7 so you can test it out before you commit. You must commit to wearing sunscreen everyday when using this product.)
OST Original Pure Vitamin C20 Serum - Vitamin C in general is a really hassle. It’s very fragile. It must be kept in the fridge or you will have oxidized garage. Some people experience a bit of a purge when they use VIT C.  It’s not particularly comfortable to have on & leaves your face feeling a bit sticky, but will it get rid of PIH? Absolutely yes! Will it improve your overall appearance? Absolutely yes! There is a new C21.5 serum out, but I have not tried it. I heard it is not sticky, but lacks the anti-aging benefits the C20 has. You must commit to wearing sunscreen everyday when using this product.
Rohto Melano CC Intensive Anti-Spot Essence - Japan Imported - I’ve only used this product for about 2 days & I already see results. It is incredible. It goes on kinda oily, so I wouldn’t recommend using this in the day. It doesn’t have a dropper so it only releases a tiny bit at a time so if you’re putting it all over your face that could be time consuming. Results wise I’m really loving this. I can’t wait to see how things are a month or so down the road.
The following are items I want to try, but haven’t gotten around to it.
Holy Snails Snowbang Essence (Can be used as a serum, travel size also available)
Skinfood Peach Sake Pore Serum
MIZON Snail Repair Intensive Ampoule
Scinic Snail AIO Ampoule or Scinic Honey AIO Ampoule
AHA/BHA
This is the area where I am least knowledgeable. AHAs/BHAs aren’t something you just want to wing it & put it on your face. When using AHA/BHAs, you must commit to wearing sunscreen everyday & may experience some purging.
Actives: An AB Intro Guide and FAQ.

Cosrx BHA Blackhead Power Liquid
Neulii Teatree BHA Blemish Control Serum
CosRx AHA 7 Whitehead Power Liquid

There’s a million different sheet masks in the world, but my favorites/ones I plan on trying are:

My Monthly Favorites - Winter 2018/Favorite 2018 Products
by Rosy Day Blog
Unfortunately I just had wayyyy too many products to test and review the last couple of months, so this post is a lot later than I had intended. As usual, I combined Winter 2018 favorites with my favorite products for 2018 (they are typically one and the same anyway). I noticed some of the products are the same as my most Fall 2018 favorites, but that just means I found my favorites for last year more recently.

Toner
Acwell Licorice pH Balancing Cleansing Toner
I first used this a few years ago, but have since forgotten about it since I keep trying out new toners. I came back to this after seeing that Soko Glam now carries it. For me this is the best all-around toner. It is good at cleansing (if you like using toners to wipe off excess dirt/oil left behind) and it is mildly hydrating without being one of those thicker essence-like toners that can sometimes feel sticky and take forever to absorb. This toner also has 10% licorice water. Licorice is known for skin brightening and while I can't say that using this toner alone will brighten your skin, the soothing and redness-reducing properties of licorice will give your skin a more even and overall healthier and brighter look. When paired with the right products, it does help one achieve honey skin. Other interesting ingredients include rhubarb (soothing), green tea (antioxidants), and rose & peony (skin conditioning & brightening). » Buy Product
Facial Mist
Belif Aqua Bomb Mist
This facial mist acts as a hydrating intermission between my cleansing and toning steps. Especially after I take a shower, it takes me awhile to go from cleansing to toning, and in that time my skin starts to dry up (possibly making my skin a bit irritated as well). This provides a “better than just water” light-hydration and the light-weightness is perfect for quickly refreshing your skin. It also calms my skin (minor redness is instantly cured). I feel like it aids in healing my skin barrier as well. With the Belif, you get 2 travel sized bottles (for a total of ~4.04 oz for $34). A good deal if you ask me! Interesting ingredients include lady's mantle/oats/soybean ferment (healing & eczema), chickweed (anti-inflammatory),catnip/calendula (anti-bacterial), nettle leaf (acne), and saccharomyces ferments from potato & barley (product absorbtion & skin nutrition). » Buy Product
Essence
Eco Your Skin Layering Essence Ringer Drip in Anti-Wrinkle
This is perfect for the 7-skin method, though since it's $50 USD you probably don't want to use it all up too fast. It's actually good enough to just use for a 3-skin method. I prefer to just immediately transfer this from the packet into the included bottle rather than try and use this all up in one-go. This is hydrating yet still lightweight and it gives me instant glass skin. The effects are kinda comparable to a good sheet mask without all the waiting around or the heavyiness/stickiness. In the long run, this is cheaper than sheet masking everyday if you use this for at least 3 layers every night. This does smell a bit strong though. I don't doubt that this is a very concentrated formula - it smells concentrated. Thankfully the scent doesn't linger. Interesting ingredients include soy/adenosine (boosting collagen synthesis), black cohosh (anti-inflammatory), resveratol (anti-aging & firming), angelica herb (anti-bacterial), and red clover (repair broken skin). Ironically, I feel like this product has more "soothing" type of ingredients than actual anti-aging ones... » Buy Product
Calming & Nutritious First Treatment Essence
Atoclassic Real Tonic Soothing Origin Essence
This is an odd product in that it just seems like a fancy hanbang (medicinal/herbal ingredients) product mainly for reducing redness - which it does do very well by the way. However, this surprisingly keeps my hollow-ish/slightly sunken eyes nice and firm. It’s almost magic because this isn’t exactly advertised as an anti-aging or firming product, but I’ve gone through 2 bottles of this and it just amazingly works for me. It’s made up of 14% hanbang ingredients including chrysanthemum which even drinking the tea is supposed to help with wrinkles and anti-aging. Other interesting ingredients includes pomegranate (anti-wrinkle), rehmannia/sesame (nourishing & anti-inflammatory), peony/honeysuckle/licorice (skin conditioning & brightening), goji berry (hydrating & firming), ginger (antioxidant & elasticity), Ginseng (help boost collagen production), angelica herb/gromwell (anti-bacterial), cinnamon (acne), and licorice. » Buy Product
Hydrating/Anti-Aging First Treatment Essence
Ground Plan Energy Essence
If you are looking for a first treatment essence that not only is more hydrating than those light, watery types, but also contains zero fermented ingredients (like galactomyces for example), this is the one for you. Unfortunately fermented ingredients are such a double-edged sword. They either work really well for you, or you develop some kind of irritation preventing yourself from continued use. This essence not only contains enough hydration in my opinion to just use 1-skin (layer) rather than using the full 7-skin method, but also it contains a bunch of soothing and hydrating ingredients that really makes this perfect for sensitive skin. Interesting ingredients include oats (healing & eczema), job's tears/rice (brightening & balancing), winter melon (acne & anti-aging), rose (skin conditioning), edelweiss/purslane (antioxidants), beta-glucan/aronia berry (wound healing & collagen synthesis), anise (anti-wrinkle), East Asian mountain yam (for fighting collagen loss & reducing skin flakiness), and centella asiatica (anti-inflammatory & anti-bacterial). » Buy Product
Anti-Aging/EGF Serum
Abib Hypoderma SP1-2GF Serum Cell Repair
Tumblr media
I initially got this 50% off, but even with a retail value of ~$92 USD, you are definitely paying for quality and advance scientific research with this serum. I still love my Peach & Lily Glass Skin Refining Serum, but this is like a more super-charged anti-aging version. This contains 10 ppm of SP1-EGF (Epidermal Growth Factor) and 15 ppm of SP1-FGF (Fibroblast Growth Factor). The SP1 is a special technology to help skin absorb the EGF/FGF protein molecules. While I don't have too many issues in regards to wrinkles and loss of firmness, after at least 1 month of use, this has made my skin more even (less redness), more baby soft to the touch, more bouncy/resilient, etc. You can say this does slowly reset your skin to a more youthful/baby-ish state. This serum even helped lightened these pesky melasma-like dark spots I had around my cheeks, and have made the minor pores I had on my nose nearly disappear. Other interesting ingredients include bamboo extract (helps absorb nutrients & boost collagen synthesis), niacinamide/honeysuckle (brightening & balancing), Japanese plum (glowing skin & eczema), centella asiatica/propolis (anti-inflammatory & anti-bacterial), and lotus root (heals dry & flaky skin). » Buy Product
Firming/Softening Serum
Peach & Lily Glass Skin Refining Serum
If you are looking for a great multi-tasking serum that will even out, plump, and make your skin smooth (glass skin effect), look no further than the appropriately named Glass Skin Refining Serum. I only use Curology at least once a week and my skin seems to look the best the 2nd day after usage. With the Peach & Lily Glass Skin Refining Serum, I feel like I get that “freshly exfoliated” look every day. This serum contains Peach & Lily's properietary hyaluronic acid complex which according to them a "...blend of short-chain, medium-chain and long-chain hyaluronic acid molecules helps provide hydration at every level of skin; short-chain molecules sink into the deeper layers, while medium-chain molecules fill in the layers closer to the surface of the skin, and long-chain molecules lock in moisture on the skin's surface so that skin is plumped up from within while the outer layer becomes radiant." Other interesting ingredients include niacinamide (brightening & balancing), peach extract (fatty acids & firming), East Asian mountain yam (fighting collagen loss & reducing skin flakiness), madecassoide/beta-glucan (anti-inflammatory & collagen synthesis), and peptides (firming). » Read My Full Review » Buy Product
Anti-Aging/Firming Serum
The Plant Base Time Stop Collagen Ampoule
From my Klog article..."I woke up with really soft skin the next morning. The ampoule absorbs really quickly onto your skin and the softness just felt more noticeable after washing my face.” This is also a product that I’m sure helps with firming and elasticity overtime (one of the few Korean products that contains peptides). It contains 76.52% mushroom extract to stimulate collagen production and reduce the appearance of wrinkles. Other interesting ingredients include mulberry (antioxidant), prickly pear/macadamia nut oil (softening & fatty acids), licorice (skin conditioning & brightening), persimmon/aloe vera/centella asiatica (anti-inflammatory & anti-bacterial), beta-glucan/retinol (healing & collagen synthesis), kakadu plum (vitamin C & acne), and rapeseed (vitamin E). » Read My Full Review » Buy Product
Moisturizer
Abib Hydration Gel Water Tube
One of the most lightweight hydrating gels I’ve ever used. Unless I layer a lot of hydrating products underneath, I never get that wet/oily “just applied moisturizer and I’m waiting for it to absorb” look. This is a moisturizer I definitely would not mind using if I’m just going to be barefaced. Even if I use this at night, I wake up looking almost the same (slightly glowy and hydrated) as before I went to sleep. In other words, I don’t wake up looking all tired and zombie-like. I also don’t oil up too much (if any) with this moisturizer during the day (unlike others) so this is also a good choice for warmer temps/Summer time. Interesting ingredients include red seaweed (hydration & collagen synthesis), sugarcane (antioxidants), meadowfoam (balancing & moisturizing), mushroom/niacinamide (anti-aging & brightening), cactus flower (anti-inflammatory), and moringa (firming & anti-bacterial). » Buy Product
Facial Oil
Peach & Lily Pure Beam Luxe Oil
This is a nice facial oil that doesn't feel super oily. In fact, it feels light (yet still hydrating) enough that if you feel like you need more hydration, you can very easily add more layers. Even with the additional layers, it doesn't go full blown greasy. This oil is 100% natural & plant-based and is more affordable compared to many facial oils that seem as expensive as a high-end serum or cream. Ingredients includes jojoba seed oil (balancing & repairing), squalane (antioxidants & moisturizing), grape seed oil (anti-bacterial & brightening), camellia (antioxidant & omega-6 fatty acids), and sea buckthorn oil (anti-aging & healing). » Buy Product If you have any questions about any of the products above, please let me know. C

Ceramides: A waxy fatty acid, or lipids, that are naturally found in your skin barrier. They help protect you from environmental damage and irritation.
Chemical Exfoliation: A method to help remove the outer layer of your skin, the dead skin cells. They do so by slowly dissolving the glue that holds these cells together.
Chemical Peel: A chemical procedure that aims to improve the appearance of the skin by removing the top layer.
Chemical sunscreen: A skincare product that contains organic ingredients. They protect you against the sun by absorbing UV rays instead of reflecting them. This chemical reaction involves turning the UV rays into heat.
Clean Beauty: An unregulated marketing term. It embodies the philosophy of beauty without any “harmful” ingredients. The harmful ingredients can vary from brand to brand.
Cleansers: A facial product to help remove dirt, sweat, oils and other types of impurities on your skin.
Cleansing Balm: A cleanser with a balm-like texture. It'll liquify when some heat or friction is applied and will dissolve impurities.

Collagen: A protein found naturally in your skin. They help to give your muscles, skin and tendons its structure and strength. Our body decreases collagen production as we age.
Combination Skin: A skin type where oil production is high around your T-zone and low around your cheeks. Depending on who you ask, it can also simply mean different types of oil production around your skin. As an example, dry and very dry, or oily and very oily.
Comedones: Hair follicles that are clogged because of oil and dirt. They can be closed, and skin-like in colour. They can also appear black in colour because the waxy texture in your hair follicle has been exposed to air.
Cruelty Free: A term used to describe products or brands that are not testing on animals.
Cyst: A seriously infected pimple that contains fluid, air and at times other substances.
D

EFAs - Essential Fatty Acids: Fatty acids are the building blocks of the fat in our body. Essential Fatty Acids, or EFAs, help build healthy cells in our skin and body. Research suggests that EFAs are anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial. They can also help with hydration, flakiness and have antioxidant properties.
Essential Oils: A mix of substances that are the scented essence of plants. They are volatile compounds that can be beneficial but also harmful for the skin.
Exfoliation: The process of removing the upper layer of your skin. This is known as the stratum corneum and consists of dead skin cells.
F
Facial rollers: A skincare tool made from stainless steel or natural stones like jade or rose quartz. They are used to massage the face and help to depuff the skin.
Fermented Ingredients: Fermentation is the process where microorganisms convert carbs into acids and alcohol. This natural process happens to create the food we eat, like yoghurt, cheese, kimchi and wine. It’s claimed that fermented ingredients in your skincare helps with absorption. It can also enhance the nutrients delivered as it mimics your cell function. Research suggests it can lengthen the product shelf life.
Free Radicals: A single molecule that is not paired with an electron on the outer shell is called a free radical. When to many of these molecules exist in your body, the body is in oxidative stress. This can lead to ageing, but also more severe illnesses like cancer. The body can combat this by producing antioxidants but as we age this process slows down. Food and skincare can help with generating more antioxidants. These slow down the process of free radical damage.
G

The 10 Step Korean Skincare Routine
Two years ago, I read a book called The Little Book of Skincare: Korean Beauty Secrets for Healthy Glowing Skin. After reading it, my perspective on skincare changed. The simple routine consisting of just washing my face with Peter Thomas Roth Anti-Aging Cleansing Gel, followed by Thayers Rose Petal Witch Hazel as toner, and Clinique Moisture Surge Extended Relief as moisturizer was inadequate. I barely wore sunscreen unless it was summer time and if I did, I’d wear those fragrant sunscreens from Hawaiian Tropics, or Neutrogena. However, I hated the white cast these sunscreens left on my face as well as how greasy it made my face feel, which caused me to stop wearing it.
At first, 10 steps seemed a bit too much. I barely have enough time to pamper myself but having to do 10 steps both in the morning and evening was ridiculous. I learned not everyone has to do the entire 10 steps and can simply do 5 steps, everyone has different skin concerns therefore each individual has their own preference on how many steps they use in their routine. My first purchase was the Erborian Cleansing Balm and Neogen Green Tea Real Fresh Foam Cleanser along with the Son & Park Beauty Water, which would later become my holy grail, Mizon All-in-One Snail Repair Cream, and Missha Mild Essence Sun Milk.
After trying all four products, my skin felt and looked different. One, my skin was smoother and less rough. Two, after suffering from occasional acne breakouts this calmed my breakouts to the point where I barely had a pimple on my face unless it was hormonal acne. Three, I was totally convinced that this was a game changer. Eventually, one by one I increased my routine from 5 steps to 10 steps. Now, I don’t follow all 10 steps everyday but 1-3 times a week I perform all 10 steps. Also, my morning routine is different from my evening routine.
Step 1: Oil Cleanser
The first step of the entire routine, double cleansing requires using an oil cleansers and water based cleanser. In the nighttime, I use
wipes to remove makeup just as an extra step before starting oil cleansing. First use the oil cleanser, which either comes in the form of a balm or oil on a dry face. If it is in the form of a balm, once you rub the product on your face it dissolves, breaking down any makeup, sunscreen, dirt, and pollutants on your face. When rubbing the product, you want to use gentle circular motions making sure you massage the product into your face. Wet your hands and massage your face again to emulsify the cleanser, the wash off. As of lately, I've been using the Banila Co Clean It Zero Cleansing Balm Original.
Step 2: Water-Based Cleanser
After washing off the oil cleanser, use the water based cleanser to remove any extra debris that the oil cleanser missed. It is recommended that you spend about 1 minute massaging the cleanser into your face just as you would spend 30 seconds washing your hands to thoroughly. However, I am guilty of massing my face for 10-15 seconds and rushing to rinse it off because I'm tired or in a rush. On a good day, I sometimes massage my oil cleanser for about 2 minutes and 1 minute for my water cleanser just to be meticulous. If you leave the cleanser on a littler longer than usual it deep cleans your pores.
My current water cleanser, is the Klavuu Pure Pearlsation Revitalizing Facial Cleansing Foam.
Step 3: Exfoliation
Ever wonder why your skin looks dull, lifeless, or why your pores are large or why you have dark spots? Well that's because your dead skin cells have built up, which is why we exfoliate. Our cell turnover rate, slows significantly as we get older. Cell turnover is the procedure in which our skin produces new skin cells that travel from the bottom layer of the epidermis to the top layer resulting in the shedding of the skin. You can exfoliate your skin using physical or chemical exfoliators.
Physical exfoliators are pretty much your average scrub that we are re all familiar with and are done manually with your hands. Some tend to have micro-beads, small grains, nutshells, or used with a brush, or muslin cloth. Despite that, exfoliators with micro-beads, nutshells, fruit pits or any large exfoliants should be avoided because they cause micro-tears. Micro-tears occur when the agents in an exfoliator are too sharp or jagged, resulting in small tears in the skin. One of my favorite scrubs is the Mizon Honey Black Sugar Scrub. Compared to physical exfoliators, chemical exfoliators exfoliate the skin using acids. I know it's alarming but acids actually help speed up cell turnover and promote smoother and brighter skin if you're looking for glowing skin.
Step 4: Toner
Most people think this step is unnecessary but toners actually help hydrate your skin. After double cleansing and exfoliating your skin dries out and needs moisture added back. Toners also help balance your skin's pH levels and get rid of any excess filth your cleansers missed. I read somewhere after washing your face, there's a 10 second rule to apply toner. My holy grail and I cannot stress how much I love this product is the Son & Park Beauty Water.
This product is not only a toner but it is multifunctional. We're all familiar with micellar water such as the Garnier bottles sold at the drugstores or the Bioderma ones. Even though micellar water gets rid of your makeup it doesn’t hydrate your skin that much. That is where cleansing waters come in. Compared to micellar water, cleansing waters are refined H20 with different ingredients incorporated into it providing it with cleansing properties minus the need to lather the product. It is usually developed with essential oils, minerals, collagen, and plant extracts. Also, cleansing water can be used as part of your double cleansing method in place of the water cleaners, referring back to the multifunctional properties.
Step 5: Essence
As we get older, our skin creates fewer nutrients that hydrate it. Essences add moisture back into your skin and helps smooth out fine lines and wrinkles. The ingredients packed in this product also help brighten and even out your skin tone. Essences are more lightweight and watery than serums and ampoules but are thicker than toners. One key factor to remember is that when you apply products, you apply them by the lighter products first before the heavier products. Thus, the reason why you apply toner first then essence is because of the consistency. In addition, essences balance the skin after double cleansing and toning. If you apply the heavier products first, it just seals your skin barrier blocking the lighter products from actually doing their job, therefore not noticing any results. When you apply the lighter products first, everything absorbs much better and by the your last step every product will be sealed in.
Step 6: Serums/Ampoules
Serums and Ampoules have a thicker consistency than essences and toners. They seep deeper into the skin to provide a high concentration of active ingredients into the skin. They are usually used for spot treatments to target problem areas such fading brown spots, acne scars, decreasing pores, and pigmentation. Serums also hydrate, strengthen and protect your skin barrier. Be careful as some of this treatments increase your sensitivity to sun exposure so it is best to wear sunscreen to avoid skin damage. I suggest using serums when you are doing your nighttime routine to avoid sun exposure.
Step 7: Sheet Masks
Ah! My favorite part of the skincare routine. I mean who doesn’t love a good sheet mask. For those who do not know what a sheet mask is, it's a mask with eye, nose and mouth cutouts drenched in ingredients you generally find in essences. I like to consider sheet masks as an at-home spa treatment for myself. After exfoliating and applying toner, I like to pop on a sheet mask along with an eye mask. There are two different types of sheets masks material, hydrogel and microfiber. Hydrogel masks well it speaks for itself (water) are gels masks that are 100% water soluble making it additionally hydrating for your skin. Microfiber masks are a cotton type material. Using sheets masks are a potent way to achieving that dewy glow by locking in the nutrients from the mask onto your skin. What makes sheet masks even better, is that they are inexpensive.
Step 8: Eye Cream
Now I know some people think they don’t need eye cream because they do not have wrinkles or dark circles under their eyes. However, using eye cream once you hit your 20s is a preliminary to preventing aging in the eye area. Even though you do not have wrinkles it is better to start using eye cream at an early stage. The area around the eye is the thinnest layer on our face, so when you rub or tug your eye you can cause damage to the skin. Using eye creams helps strengthen the skin barrier around your eyes, help boost collagen production to promote brighter and smoother eyes. Did you know that a thin skin under your eye causes dark circle, bags, and droopy eyelids?
Now I understand why my grandma was so persistent that I use eye cream from a young age. As of right now I am using Erborian Ginseng Infusion Total Eye.
Step 9: Moisturizer
Moisturize is the thickest formula and the last to be applied to your face. Moisturizers work because they have smaller molecules to draw moisture to the skin and then retain it therefore hydrating the skin. This is one step you never want to skip since it is essential because like I said before the heaviest consistency helps seal in all the other products you put making certain you stay hydrated. I find myself switching moisturizers based on the seasons and also based on skin concerns. My skin is oilier in the summer and in the winter my skin is dry but in between those two seasons, my skin is combination. In the summer I use Mizon All in One Snail Repair Cream, yes snail. Snail mucin has many good properties in it that I'll explain another time. In the winter since I love to have that "glow", I use Son & Park Beauty Filter Cream Glow.
Also once or twice a week depending on how my skin feels, I used a sleeping pack/mask in place of my night cream. Sleeping packs or masks or used overnight to give your skin a bunch of hydration as if you were at a spa for the day but while you're sleeping. You apply it like lotion, spreading a thin layer all over your face but unlike a night cream, you do not pat it in. Overnight your skin absorbs the hydration slowly and in the morning you wash it off. I am currently using Mizon Snail Wrinkle Care Sleeping Pack for my face and
Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask for my lips. You lips need hydration too!
Step 10: Sunscreen
This is the most crucial step during the day as moisturizer is the most crucial step at night. Sunscreen's purpose is to protect your skin from the harmful UV rays from the sun. Not wearing sunscreen can cause some serious damage to your skin. I am guilty of not wanting to wear sunscreen because of that horrible white cast it left on my skin making me look like Casper the ghost. I'll let you know what UV rays do to your skin. The sunray damages your dermis and the collagen fibers and elasticity of your skin causing wrinkles, sunspots (what I have), and of skin cancer. Still don’t want to wear sunscreen? Now there are two different types of sunscreens, physical and chemical. Physical sunscreens are the ones we usually use and it stays on the skin like that white patch we always get on our nose from applying sunscreen at the breach. Chemical sunscreens are lighter than physical and apply to the skin just like moisturizers leaving no residue. One sunscreen I use in the summer is the Missha Mild Essence Sun Milk SPF 50/PA+++. There is also a waterproof one. PA+++ means high UVA protection. UVA means ultra violet aging ray.
Now I know you're looking at all these steps thinking who has time for all of this? Like I said, you do not need to do all 10 steps. Start of small and the more you get accustomed to this routine you'll see it does not take longer than 10 minutes to do everything. Also, do not just buy a whole bunch of products. If you try many products all at once and breakout you won't know what is causing the breakout. Start off one by one and wait a few weeks before jumping into another product.
I hope this helps and encourages you take invest more into your skincare!
