hey… tell me your armored core 6 headcanons...
god i have an amount. im not sure how to sort this
Here are the general ones:
Ninety years before the start of Armored Core 6, childhood as a concept has been completely dismantled. Corporations have enough power to lobby the end of public education as a whole and all education is privatized. Children will work once able in the era of the Fifth Industrial Revolution. The M2M Era (Man-to-Machine).
Due to advancements in medical research and technology (for military purposes), every disability, disorder, and impairment is accommodated for the purpose of fulfilling the interests of the company. Depending on how valuable someone is, anyone can basically get any medical procedure they want. It's commonplace for employees of certain companies have some kind of medical procedure done. Employment ensures any and all healthcare. You have nothing if you not employee, there is no safety net or social program of any kind provided by what is essentially the government.
Preserving reproductive material is much more commonplace, it's actually expectation. Natural pregnancies are looked down upon since birth and recovery takes employees time away from work. Designer babies are common including eugenicist mindsets that follow. There's a weird initial treatment toward those who are naturally born leaving genetic risks to chance. Birth statuses are required on resumes.
AC cockpits have one-size-fits-all compatibitiy for all augments, manual controls, and any customization.
All augments are a variation of brain implants and synthetic hormones. Implants in the inner ear for balance, parietal lobe for sensation, and cerebellum for movement. Hormones to maintain wakefulness and awareness, regulate body functions. Hormones that relate to body regulation also modifies stem cell growth (this inadvertently affects aging as these hormones preserve the telomeres as cells divide.) are secreted into the brain, liver, and femur.
Older generations were extremely invasive because the implants required removing some brain tissue and there were complications such as bleeding, infection, or the breaking down of the actual implant injuring the brain. The implants were also susceptible to electric shock since they'd require a direct external connection. There was also no way to regulate their tempuratures.
Newer (10th) generation of augments are less invasive by no longer requiring to remove brain matter and directly stimulates the brain but can cause overstimulation and oversensitivity, making the user more prone to stress. External connections are magnetic. Hormone secretion implants include secreting coolant when the body exceeds a certain temperature or bpm reaches a certain rate, thresholds which can be fine tuned by the user. They are usually implanted in the heart and lungs.
Other augments include artificial muscles since some AC parts don't have avionic-like controls. Artifical muscles require company secret titanium alloy to replace some of the bones the they attach to.
Since the societal memory of "childhood" is nonexistent, the concept of family is too. Foremost, people are a company asset, desinger babies are conceived because of the influence of the company, they are born comfortably because of the accommodation of the company. People are born as employees indebted to the companies that brought them life.
Parents function much like backers or sponsors to pull their offspring out of general youth company training for more specialized education, for reasons such as to inherit their position. Every five years, starting from age 5 until age 20, children trainees are tested and the results will be evaluated by their parents that decide their worth to invest in them as an asset. When trainees are of age they are allowed to look up, through the company's in-house genetic database, who their parents are. If the names are not available, it means they were disowned. Trainees who never recieve an investment will become a grunt.
RLF culture is a long altered ghost of a corporate culture from a company that no longer exists. "Father" and "uncle" are intimate military titles that have lost their original meaning.
RFL care about children more thanks to the fact that the technology to incubate fetuses became derelict, natural birth has made a boom.
I don't have all of them yet but every named character in ACVI has a disability, disorder, and/or an impairment of some kind that's been accommodated for or inflicted on. No one is normal in this game. Not a single person.
Older generation augmented humans that manage to grow out hair consider it a personal victory, perserving a sliver of individuality.
Okay i think that covers it. I have headcanons for characters that'd make the average gamer hurl
Snail is 90 years old kept young due to his augments. As you know, my dear friend, he has had one billion plastic surgeries. He's changed his gender 17 times. He has race swapped so much that the company told him to stop. He's had honkers, he's had cock, pussy, you name it and he's vain about it. I like to think this happened because his face was split in half during combat may years ago. He doesn't like Pater, he smells Pater's avarice from a mile away; recognition of self. He doesn't like anyone. Snail is a freak He's a sadomaso. He loves natural, unaugmented cock. Like everyone who's been a corporate slave who does actually all the work their whole life, he's fucked in the head. He likes to do fucked up things to those in re-education. Sorry, 621 and Walter. If he really doesn't like them for real he just takes the frontal lobe. Sorry, Swinburne. He hates old people, he hates mental illness, he hates animals.
Freud is in his 30s and he is actually naturally born. Someone like the top Vesper being naturally born can sway public opinion. He delegates authority to Snail for canon reasons but he does it to bully him for being so annoying and controlling. Like Snail, he also has authority to send people to re-education and also oversee it himself if he ever cared to. Freud is a man who gives no shits about anything that isn't about his AC and combat. He likes to look at stats and parts and planning budgets for them, and sorting them onto tierlists. He's also got a great cock. He has an assortment of children invested by the company (nicknamed as Freudlings) due to his impressive genetics. He doesn't really care about them other than their combat ability and only likes to spar or talk combat with them every once in a while. They admire him ferociously as the top Vesper and some want to surpass him.
Pater has spedrun life. He has the knack of figuring out the corporate game and exploits and appeals to climb the ladder. There was a certain psychological evaluation required for tenth generation augmentation, he passed with flying colors. He moseys up to anyone who may help him even if he has to subtely play the role of whatever appeals to them the most. His emotional state is determined by the amount of stress he endures from overstimulation. Pater is a twin! His twin was nonviable and is just kept in a tube somewhere in case he needs its cells or something.
O'Keeffe is initially deaf in one ear from a self inflicted wound. The tinnitus from his Second Generation augments were too much some times.
Rusty is far-sighted. He's 28 years old.
HONEST BRUTE! A headcanon of yours is a headcanon of mine. He's a coral head who's a pervert freak on every level and lives like shit. His clothes are stained, there's fruitflies swarming the trashcan near his bed, there are bedbugs in his dirty mattress on the floor next to his used needles and bent spoons. The euphoria of coral drugs for him is that it vibrates his augments in a way that stimulates pleasure center in the brain. His olfactory nerves were damaged from snorting the stuff so he's anosmic. And one of the only scents he can smell is ammonia. Do what you wish with that information. He does injections now. He gets bloody noses and has coral breath and is greasy. Despite this, he's extremely charming snd persuasive. He was Carla's kitten. He got close to Carla by lying to others effectively sabotaging them and taking their place, completely impulsively. Like, he stole the Overed Rail Canon literally just because. He's got insane good memory too, it really helps him sell the lie. He once got caught fucking Chatty by Carla. You know that guy who got caught fucking the washing machine? He's a very good lover. Are you really having a good time if you both aren't also high on coral? He smells so bad that it when it gets on you, other people would know you spent time with him. The smegma in his chastity cage-marked foreskin has crystalized. God i need to fuck this guy
Sulla hates Walter for making him eat the doodoo and will kill or fuck his dogs to spite him. And wants to be a dog owner himself but better and cuts someone else's french toast for them.
My 621 has leg nerve damage, muscle atrophy, selective mutism, and prone to hypothermia and is also so hot and sexy and fuckable, everybody wants it. 621's muscles are to weak to cut its own french toast so Walter cuts them for it and he does it so badly it's horrible! 621 sides with anyone that has its wheelchair. 621 didnt have time for for any physical recovery arriving on Rubicon so its AC is controlled mostly through extremly invasive augments in the brain and has been tuned to respond to fine finger movements. If anyone would care to help 621 through physical therapy and see its hair grow in patches it would be so sexy. So much tension.
Walter and Michigan definitely fucked before the start of the game.
uuuuu thats all i can spit out for now maybe I'll add more

When To See A Doctor... | Comic Week 24 - created on Corel Painter.
The uterus is an important organ that holds many functions in a girl’s body. However, it can also be prone to contracting different medical issues and conditions that can alter the way someone lives their life. Last week, we explored the various abnormalities that may come about with menstruation. Today, let’s discuss three prominent medical conditions that cannot be ignored and need to be addressed by a doctor.
Polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS) is a condition caused by an imbalance of reproductive hormones in a woman’s body. This imbalance affects the ovaries, resulting in little fluid filled sacs called cysts forming in the ovaries, making it difficult for the ovaries to form a fully developed egg every month, or even develop an egg at all. Symptoms associated with PCOS are irregular or missed periods, excessive androgen production – a male hormone that may cause excess facial and body hair and acne – and sudden weight gain along with the inability to lose that weight easily. 10% of all women have PCOS, so it is not an uncommon condition, and it can present itself at any time after puberty. Because PCOS makes it difficult for the ovaries to produce eggs, fertility problems are common among young women with the condition who are looking to have children. It is important that, if you experience these symptoms, you ask a trusted adult to accompany you to a gynaecological visit. A gynaecologist – a specialist that deals with the health of female reproductive organs – will be able to assess you, and thankfully, PCOS is a condition treatable with medication, fertility treatment and life-style changes.
Many women – if not most women – will experience something called fibroids over the course of their life. Usually occurring in women between their 30s and 50s, fibroids are noncancerous growths that form on the uterus. These growths can range from being incredibly small in size to being large enough to distort the shape of the uterus; some women only have one, whereas other women may have many. Fibroids come in four types: intramural – appearing in the uterine muscle wall; subserosal – appearing on the outside; pedunculated – appearing on the end of a small stem; and submucosal – appearing in the middle muscle layer of the uterus. Many women may go their entire lives not realising they have fibroids because often times they present no symptoms. But when they do, menstruation with heavy and long bleeding, pelvic discomfort and bladder problems may be just a few symptoms that a woman may experience. While the growths themselves are relatively harmless, the pressure they put on the uterus and the bladder can cause serious pain, especially around menstruation.  Seeing a gynaecologist when experiencing these symptoms is integral to getting the help needed to alleviate your discomfort. Thankfully, much like PCOS, fibroids are treatable with medication, non-invasive procedures and surgery – minimal and traditional.
The last condition is arguably more severe than the two above. Endometriosis is a painful disorder in which tissue much like the tissue that grows on the inside of your uterus – the endometrium – grows outside of the uterus. This tissue behaves in the same way endometrial tissue does, thickening, disintegrating and bleeding with every menstrual cycle. However, because this deteriorated tissue cannot leave the body through the uterus and down the vagina, it gets trapped and causes possible cysts on the ovaries while irritating the surrounding tissue. This irritated tissue can become scarred and develop adhesions that can make organs stick to one another! Endometriosis can affect any woman past puberty and is relatively as common as PCOS. Symptoms may include painful menstruation, pain with bowel movements, pain during sexual intercourse and infertility issues. If these symptoms plague you, then seeing a gynaecologist is certainly not optional as women with endometriosis are at a higher risk of ovarian cancer later on in life. Once again, thanks to the wonder of medicine, treatments such as hormone therapy, pain medication and, if necessary, surgery are all available to those with the condition.
The causes of these three common reproductive health issues are still relatively unclear to doctors, as many factors such as genetics and even lifestyle may contribute to their existence within a woman’s body. It is also important to keep in mind that they are not the only disorders that can affect you, so paying attention to your health and well-being at this pivotal time in your life is a habit that you should get into.
While these conditions can seem a little frightening, you are not alone if you develop one of them. Many women go about their days in a perfectly normal manner while living with them, making sure to seek medical assistance when they feel they need to. Ultimately, it is your duty to yourself to watch out for your own health and never hesitate to go to the doctor when you need to!

PCOD / PCOS
PCOS, or Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome, has become increasingly common among women of reproductive age in recent years. Women who have this condition may have irregular or altered menstrual cycles. The ovaries may also grow a lot of fluid-filled sacks that are incapable of releasing eggs. An endocrine disorder called PCOS/PCOD is a major contributor to infertility. Subfertility is a term used to describe a condition where a person is trying to get pregnant but is having a difficult time.
Best Ayurveda treatment for PCOD and PCOS
SYMPTOMS OF PCOS/PCOD
These are some of the typical PCOS/PCOD symptoms.
Period irregularities: Women may experience irregular menstrual cycles.
Missed Periods: Missed periods may occasionally last a long time. This may continue for several months.
Severe bleeding: This is caused by a thicker than usual uterine lining. Females can have prolonged periods of heavy bleeding.
Hair growth: The back, belly, chest, and face may all experience excessive hair growth. This ailment, also known as hirsutism, can be an annoying PCOS symptom.
Acne: Areas like the face, chest, and back are more likely to experience breakouts.
Obesity: Studies have shown that managing one’s weight can significantly lessen the symptoms of PCOS in up to 80% of females who have the condition.
Hair thinning and loss: Women with PCOS/PCOD may experience hair thinning and loss. The body’s overabundance of androgens is the cause of this.
Skin darkening: The nose, groin, under the breasts, and other places may develop dark skin pigmentation or patchy skin growth.
Headaches: A hormonal imbalance known as PCOS or PCOD can occasionally result in headaches.
Pelvic pain and fatigue: Women with PCOS may experience feelings of discomfort, such as pain in the pelvic area, along with fatigue.
REASONS BEHIND PCOS
High levels of androgen
A woman’s body contains a small amount of male hormones known as androgens. However, in PCOS, the amount of male hormones increases, which can prevent the ovaries from producing eggs during the monthly menstrual cycle. This can cause acne and excessive hair growth in women, which is one of the main symptoms of PCOS.
High levels of insulin
The insulin hormone is in charge of regulating the body’s glucose levels. PCOS is a condition in which many women have insulin resistance, which means that the glucose in the blood is not being used properly by their cells. Women are more likely than men to have a family history of Type 2 Diabetes. To avoid Type 2 Diabetes in the future, lifestyle changes are advised.Obesity and unhealthy lifestyle leads to PCOS
AYURVEDIC APPROACH TO PCOD/PCOS / Best Ayurveda treatment for PCOD and PCOS
According to the ancient texts of Ayurveda, it is referred to as “Granthi” in some cases, which refers to the development of abnormalities such as cysts, ulcers, lumps, or tumors. According to Ayurveda, PCOS is caused by imbalance of Rasa and Rakta Dhatus, as well as an imbalance in the three Doshas of the body (Vata, Pitta, and Kapha). These Rasa-Rakta Dhatus are weakened as a result of Dosha imbalance and Ama (toxins) buildup in the body. This can result in cyst formation and other PCOS symptoms.
Normally, the Vata Dosha dominates the reproductive system, and the female reproductive organs are made of “Artava Dhatu,” which nourishes the ovum. Vata Dosha is in charge of the follicle and ovum movement into the uterine fallopian tubes. The sub-dosha “Apana Vayu” is in charge of the downward flow or menstrual flow. Pitta Dosha is important for hormone production and balance in the body. The Kapha Dosha is in charge of nourishing and promoting follicle, uterine, and ovum tissue growth. As a result, a harmonious balance of the three Doshas is essential for producing healthy hormones and maintaining the health of the female reproductive system.

Irregular Periods - Symptoms Cause and Treatment Options
Tumblr media
Women often experience irregular periods as a result of their hormones. Does this issue affect you as well? Do not worry about it because it is treatable, and you can also identify the causes to take necessary precautions!
There can be several reasons for irregular periods, like hormonal imbalances, stress, birth control, etc. You cannot control your periods, but tracking their pattern is a minor deal! If you want to find out more about the probable causes of irregular menstruation and solution or available treatment options for the same, make sure to read this blog!
What Exactly Are Irregular Periods?
You can generally get your period once within 28 days; this cycle repeats itself. Some women may experience it similarly, while some may get their periods in less predictable cycles!
This irregularity in the period cycle can be due to many reasons. You can identify whether you are going through something similar with the help of certain basic symptoms.
·        Changes in the number of days between your periods.
·        The blood flow during periods is less or more than you normally experience.
·        Variation in the duration of periods.
If you are witnessing these changes, there is a high chance of irregular periods! Well, this condition is treatable, and you can take proper measures after learning its exact causes.
Prominent Causes Behind an Irregular Menstrual Cycle
Are you curious about what causes the menstrual cycle to change dates every month?
This condition may have some underlying causes, most of which can be treated. It is also possible to work to ensure that your periods are regular.
The major and most common cause is hormone changes, which is why many girls hitting puberty or women approaching menopause to go through irregular periods the most! Besides this, the other major causes behind irregular menstrual cycle are -
·        Birth Control Pills: Have you recently changed your regular birth control pills? Because this can be a strong cause of irregularity in your periods. As the pills vary in estrogen or progesterone levels, switching from regular pills may directly influence your period cycle!
·        IUD: If you are using an IUD, it can be another major reason behind irregular menstrual cycles. It is even known to cause cramps, which can be relieved with pain relievers or heating pads.
·        Polycystic Ovary Syndrome: Are you often missing your periods and noticing other changes like excessive hair fall? Well, this can be the impact of Polycystic Ovary Syndrome. In this hormonal disorder, your body has higher amounts of male hormones, leading to growth in facial hair, thinning hair, and others.
·        Excessive Exercise: Excessive exercise may sometimes lead to missed periods or other irregularities. And in the worst scenario, your periods may completely halt! So, you should consult an expert or a trainer before taking up extreme physical exercises.
·        Pregnancy and Breastfeeding: During pregnancy, your periods will stop altogether for that definite duration! Besides that, breastfeeding can affect your period cycle too, and all these are due to the interference of the hormones!
·        Thyroid Disease: If you suffer from thyroid disease, your body will get either too little or excess essential hormones. However, if your periods come with heavy bleeding and last longer than usual, this can signify hypothyroidism! In the opposite case, periods last for short, which is hyperthyroidism.
·        Stress: In the hectic lifestyle of today's times, stress is something you can hardly avert! Taking stress over every aspect around you creates constraints for that part of the brain responsible for maintaining a balance between the hormone levels!
All these are some of the major reasons behind missed periods and other irregularities. You may also notice adverse effects of irregular periods on the body, like fatigue, bone health issues, or even infertility!

Analysis of Will Wood's "I/Me/Myself"
Tumblr media
Will Wood’s music is known to be the type that serial killers would listen to as they start their descent into madness and violence; however, as Wood emphasized in an interview on Bleeding Cool about The Normal Album, the songs really “reflect a lot of my personal growth through proper treatment of my psychiatric troubles, therapy, personal work” and are about “coming to terms with my flaws and learning to be honest with myself”. Many people interpret this as him coping with bipolar disorder and other mental illnesses. While that may add to some of the meanings behind his lyrics, I find it much more plausible that Will Wood’s music details his struggles in defining his gender, gender expression, and coming to terms with who he really is. His song titled “I/Me/Myself” acts as a primary example that is hard to deny even without micro-analyzing the lyrics.
As someone who is transgender, I’ve had my fair share of coping with the reality that I was born in a body that doesn’t fit me, with clothes I’ve been told to wear my whole life feel wrong, and with expected behaviors that I always viewed with disgust because they didn’t feel true to me. “I/Me/Myself” hits the issue of a gender identity crisis dead on:
“For some reason I find myself lost in what you think of me
And too confused to choose who I should be
It’s been a point of contention between myself and this body that they stuck me in
The privilege of being born to be a man”
In the first line, Wood is detailing how people’s impressions of us have major impacts on how we behave, what we wear, and so on. Wood and I are going different ways on the scale of gender expression (him presenting more feminine, while I tend to prefer masculine). While it certainly did take a lot of guts for me to start presenting as a man rather than continue the lie of living as a woman, it is incredibly more difficult for people who are going the other way around. Society has built up this idea that men being feminine or rejecting masculinity is obscene and mockable. After all, why would anyone want to be anything other than the dominant, benefitting gender in our rigged patriarchal society? If women present as masculine, however, they may get applauded, which is an incredibly unfair result of toxic masculinity. The line “For some reason I find myself lost in what you think of me” shows just how self-conscious Will Wood is about actually presenting feminine, so much so that (although he has explicitly stated he is not transgender) Wood feels that if he was a girl, it’d be so much easier for him to be feminine without receiving any judgment. It wasn’t until 2016 that the artist finally switched his outfits from a goth presentation to a more non-conforming feminine one. In an article on N.J., Will Wood states that he “was so in love with femininity I had to wear it myself”. The feeling of wearing clothes that best show your true self is beyond euphoric. You feel complete in such a way that you finally realize you’ve been doing it wrong the whole time beforehand.
Jumping to the last line, “the privilege of being born to be a man” uses sarcasm to emphasize further the harmfulness of toxic masculinity. As the whole rest of the song details his dreams of being feminine, saying, “I wish I could be a girl”, “Am I pretty now?”, “Flower petals and feathers tether me to the ground”, and “You’d wish I could be your girlfriend, boyfriend”, he adds in this one bitter line detailing how he should be grateful to be born a man in this patriarchal society. How dare he want to deny his masculinity and privilege, right? It’s a problematic ideology that a large proportion of society commonly shared until fairly recently. Wood is hoping that now people will be more accepting of him presenting as feminine rather than masculine, even though he is a man.
When it comes to figuring out one’s gender identity and expression if it doesn’t match the ones they are assigned by society, it can cause quite a mental breakdown since it is an identity crisis of sorts. Will claims to be “too confused to choose who I should be” which is perfectly natural considering how fluid gender and gender expression are. There is no one way to be non-cisgender or gender non-conforming in presentation, which makes it so much more difficult to figure out on your own. You have to wonder if you want to present as your assigned gender if you even are your assigned gender, and if you’re not, then what are you? Which label fits you or do you not want a label? Do you want to wear this or that? If you want to change your outside self completely so you are true to who you are inside, you have to throw out your old clothes, cringe at past photos of you, get the paperwork done, wince every time you hear the wrong name or pronouns, undergo medical treatment, and receive hate throughout the process – it’s exhausting. It’s horrible. Why would anyone want to go through that? Would you really want to go through all of that just to be true to yourself? It’s a nightmarish dilemma that many people face, including Will Wood as he figures himself out in this song.
Finally, the best definition of gender dysphoria is the line “It’s been a point of contention between myself and this body that they stuck me in”. This isn’t the first song where Will Wood describes how he doesn’t feel like his body matches himself either. Time and time again, he has made references to looking in a mirror and seeing himself, not sure exactly who is looking back at him: “I’m looking at myself… Well, who else could I be, when I can hardly see?... Who should I be then if I’ll never be the same?” in “Dr. Sunshine is Dead”; “Why I can’t see / that I am the me / that I was born into?” in “The Song with Five Names”; “Dead in your own skin / but you didn’t choose what you were born in” in “Mr. Capgras Encounters a Secondhand Vanity”; “I check in the mirror to see how I look / I look different in different ways… Who’s looking back? / That’s not me!” in “Cotard’s Solution”; and lastly, “You bear a striking resemblance / some kind of semblance of something I’ve been remembering / You appear familiar, dear / You look just like my bathroom mirror” in “6up 5oh Cop-Out”. All of this showcases how he’s been having reoccurring thoughts where he sees himself in the mirror and can’t identify with the body staring back at him. I’ve known that feeling all too well. It’s suffocating, and yet, it also makes your thoughts so chaotic and hectic as you contemplate who you fundamentally are if you aren’t the body you were forced to grow up in.
Of all the songs I’ve listened to, “I/Me/Myself” has been the best to capture what it’s like to be either non-cisgender or gender-non-conforming. It describes the self-consciousness of worrying about what others and society as a whole will think of you while also covering the inner struggle of coming to terms with yourself. I hope to see more music like this in the future because there really aren’t many songs that cover these issues.

i read somewhere that some people's adhd and autism are caused by trauma/actually cptsd, how true is this claim?
If you want to be pedantic, it's 0% true.
Autism and ADHD are both neurodevelopmental disorders: they're impairments of the growth and development of the brain and/or the central nervous symptom. That means that neurodevelopmental disorders present themselves very early in life, usually before the age of 5 or 6. For ADHD, the DSM-5 criteria explicitly requires that, "symptoms must have occurred by age 12".
Both autism and ADHD are highly genetic (between 74% and 93% heritable for autism and 74% for ADHD). Other factors that are thought to contribute to the development of autism in children include maternal gestational diabetes, maternal and paternal age over 30, bleeding during pregnancy after the first trimester, use of certain prescription medications during pregnancy, and meconium in the amniotic fluid. Low vitamin D levels in early development, maternal nutrition, inflammation , and/or autoimmune diseases during preconception and pregnancy, and exposure to air pollution during pregnancy may also play a part. For ADHD, low birth weight, premature birth, certain infections during pregnancy and early childhood, traumatic brain injury in early childhood, and extreme neglect, abuse, or social deprivation increase the likelihood that a person will develop it.
All that said, trauma can cause symptoms of executive dysfunction that resemble ADHD or symptoms of social dysfunction that resemble autism, and C-PTSD can resemble both conditions. This is especially true if the trauma occurred in early childhood. So in that sense, the idea that's being expressed here ("ADHD and autism can be caused by trauma and C-PTSD") is essentially correct, even though people are using the actual words "ADHD" and "autism" incorrectly. The difference is that the root cause of the symptoms are different for people with neurodevelopmental disorders versus people with trauma disorders, and so they require different treatment plans in order to help the person recover. For example, people with C-PTSD are unlikely to respond to stimulant medication even though it's a first line of treatment for executive dysfunction in people who have ADHD. People with C-PTSD need to process their trauma in order to improve their symptoms.
The last thing I want to mention here isn't directly related to your question, but I think it's worth talking about. Other medical conditions, such as chronic fatigue syndrome or postviral syndromes like long COVID, can cause executive dysfunction that looks like ADHD. I think that's a big reason why ADHD has seemed to become so prevalent in recent years. I mention this just to say that even if a person has executive functioning issues that aren't ADHD, their struggle is still real and valid and deserves help. I really don't think people are "faking" ADHD because it's become a trend on TikTok; I think there's just been an influx of people who all of a sudden have symptoms they don't know how to describe and who are looking for answers.

How to Manage PCOS with Yoga?
Polycystic Ovary Syndrome or PCOS is a hormonal issue that affects one in five (20%) women in India. Despite its common occurrence, studies reveal that a shocking 70% of women with PCOS remain undiagnosed or unaware that they are suffering from this issue.
While PCOS by itself is not a life-threatening condition, it can set into motion several comorbidities that can cause serious health complications like diabetes and infertility in the long run. If not dealt with effectively, it can also induce life-threatening conditions such as heart disease. Therefore, managing PCOS is extremely crucial in maintaining hormonal harmony and good health. One of the most effective ways to manage this condition is to practice yoga asanas for PCOS, daily.
In this article, we discuss in detail what PCOS is, its causes, symptoms to watch out for, and why yoga is the perfect solution for polycystic ovaries.
What is PCOS?
PCOS is a hormonal disorder that impacts women of reproductive age. It is known as polycystic ovary syndrome as it is often characterized by the development of several small collections of fluid or follicles in the ovaries which impairs their ability to release eggs on time.
While the exact cause of PCOS is unknown, we find it often co-exists with conditions such as obesity. Thus, weight loss usually helps in treating this condition and reducing its long-term impact.
Symptoms of PCOS
Below are some of the most common signs of PCOS. However, your doctor may diagnose you with this condition even if you show at least two of these symptoms:
1. Excessive male hormones
Androgens are a group of hormones that carry out the function of maintaining sexual and reproductive health in men. Androgens are present in small amounts in women. However, when there is an excess of androgens production in women, it is regarded as a symptom of PCOS. Some signs that you may have excessive androgens include excessive facial and body hair (hirsutism), weight gain, acne, and male-patterned baldness.
 2. Cyst formation in the ovaries
Fluid-filled sacs or follicles in the ovaries cause them to enlarge and surround the eggs. This also negatively impacts fertility.
3. Skipped or irregular periods
The male hormone hinders the menstrual cycle so women with PCOS experience fewer periods. This is usually the most common sign of PCOS.
Other common symptoms of PCOS include:
Heavy bleeding
Weight gain (Signs and symptoms of PCOS are usually worsened by obesity)
Acne breakouts (chest, face, upper back)
Skin darkening (underneath the breasts, neck, the groin region)
Hair-fall and even baldness
Headaches
Excess hair growth on the face and body
Causes of PCOS
The exact cause of PCOS is unknown but experts believe that a combination of one or more of the following 4 factors could play a role:
Genetics
Insulin resistance along with obesity
A high degree of inflammation (often caused due to being overweight), which can shoot up androgen levels
An unhealthy, sedentary lifestyle along with inadequate nutrition
How to manage PCOS in daily life?
Polycystic Ovary Syndrome is a life-long condition. Whilst there is no cure for it, the patient can manage the symptoms quite effectively through lifestyle modifications and/or medications:
1. Consuming medications such as progesterone tablets to stabilize absent or irregular periods
2. Taking medications to combat hair loss and excessive facial hair growth
3. Opting for OTC or prescription acne treatments (depending on the severity of the acne)
4. Lifestyle changes such as consuming a balanced diet and staying active by practicing yoga, etc.
Healing PCOS with YOGA
Yoga has proven to be quite effective in managing a large number of PCOS symptoms.
3 Ways Yoga for PCOS and Hormonal Imbalance helps you
Manages PCOS-Related Anxiety
Living with PCOS causes hormonal imbalances that makes you prone to mood disorders such as depression and anxiety. Practicing yoga has a calming effect on your body, mind, and soul, thereby, greatly relieving you of stress and anxiety. Doing yoga asanas for PCOS problem is an effective non-invasive treatment option for women looking for daily holistic management of the condition.
2. Brings Stability to Your Hormones
A study released by the Journal of Alternative and Complementary Medicine assessed girls that were diagnosed with PCOS who regularly involved themselves in an hour-long yoga session for a full 12 weeks. After the mentioned weeks were complete, the girls showed noticeable improvement in their hormonal levels, namely testosterone, luteinizing hormone, and anti-mullerian hormone. Some girls even reported consistent menstrual frequency.
3. Positively Impacts Metabolic Markers
Practicing yoga asanas for PCOS treatment has also produced positive results in managing cholesterol and insulin levels in women. Compared to conventionally understood exercise methods like weight lifting, resistance training, running, or cycling, yoga has shown better performance in regulating lipid profile, glucose levels, and insulin resistance.
Top 5 Yoga Asanas for PCOS
1. Setu Bandhasana (Bridge Pose)
Level: Beginner-Friendly
This humble backbend is not to be underestimated on account of how easy it is to do. The Bridge pose strengthens your chest as well as your back and leg muscles while simultaneously relieving tension from it. By alleviating physical stressors from the body, it revitalizes you and relaxes you, both at the same time, calming your mind. According to the International Journal of Trend in Scientific Research and Development (IJTSRD), Bridge Pose is considered a mild inversion as while performing this pose, your heart is at a higher level than your head. Thus it offers all the advantages of an inversion, such as relief from anxiety, mild depression, insomnia, and tiredness as it not only calms the mind but also reduces blood pressure.
2. Dhanurasana (Bow Pose)
Level: Beginner-intermediate
This pose brings you comfort from menstrual pain, stimulates your reproductive organs (in case of infertility), and improves blood circulation to the pelvic region. It also relaxes the abdominal organs and stretches your leg, neck, and shoulder muscles.
3. Chakravakasana (Cat-Cow Pose)
Level: Beginner-Friendly
This pose which is a Vinyasa Yoga staple is highly recommended for managing stress as the movement is synchronized with your breathing in such a way that it immediately induces feelings of relaxation. The Cat-Cow is also great for reducing back pain.
4. Malasana (Garland Pose)
Level: Intermediate -Advanced
This asana is yoga’s worthy comeback to a deep squat. However, just like a deep squat, it can be difficult for practitioners who are just starting on their yoga or fitness journey. Luckily, like most yoga poses it has variations that make it accessible to newbies who can enjoy the myriad benefits of this pose by modifying it just slightly to suit varying fitness levels.
This pose is especially beneficial if you have PCOS because:
-It helps release stress
-It aids in digestion. As indigestion and PCOS are often interrelated, this pose is a must for those who suffer from digestive issues and PCOS.
-It eases menstrual cramps and discomfort. Those with PCOS often experience heavy, painful periods. Malasana opens up your hips and offers relief from period pains.
5. Kapalbhati Pranayama (Breathing Technique)
Level: Beginner-friendly
Kapalbhati Pranayama is a Kundalini Yoga and active meditation technique that can be a powerful tool in healing PCOS symptoms. Especially, signs like stress, high blood sugar levels, and obesity. Also known as Breath of Fire, Kapalbhati is most effective when performed early in the morning on an empty stomach. The technique involves passive inhalations and forceful exhalations through the nose.
Conclusion:
Yoga for PCOS has a 360-degree healing effect. It regulates your hormonal levels, eases symptoms of menstrual pain, enhances your reproductive, metabolic, and digestive health, and alleviates stress. Incorporating yoga asanas for PCOS treatment in your daily workout routine is a powerful step in the right direction for long-term and effective PCOS management.

Trans Man Challenges Japan’s Archaic Gender Laws With Historic Legal Action
Tumblr media
There are several reasons why a trans man might choose to have a Hysterectomy.
Satisfying a government’s archaic law shouldn’t be one of them.
Gen Suzuki, 46, has filed a request to legally change his gender without having to undergo surgery and be sterilized.
Japan implemented the Gender Identity Disorder (GID) special case law in 2004. Under the law, transgender people must meet five requirements before they can legally change gender. The individual must be at least 20 years old, not presently married, not have any underage children (under 20), must be sterilized and have genitalia that “closely resemble the physical form of an alternative gender”. In 2019, the Japanese supreme court unanimously upheld the law requiring trans people seeking to legally change their gender to be sterilized.
Reasons To Get a Hysterectomy
1. If there is a risk for cervical cancer and getting regular Pap tests isn’t possible, a Hysterectomy is recommended.
2. While there's no conclusive evidence suggesting that Testosterone causes cervical or uterine cancer, the fear of atrophic cancerous cells developing, especially if there's a family history of pelvic cancer, is often cited as a reason for having a Hysterectomy.
3. Hysterectomy is used to remove fibroid cysts (non-cancerous tumors), and as a treatment for endometriosis (the growth of the uterine lining outside of the uterus) and breakthrough bleeding, conditions that are commonly reported by trans men.
4. Abdominal pain can also suggest Hysterectomy. Testosterone causes atrophy of the uterus and vagina, which puts tension on surrounding muscles and ligaments which can cause painful cramping.
5. Another strong indication for Hysterectomy is failure to practice safe sex, risking accidental pregnancy and sexually transmitted diseases.
6. Many trans men seek out Hysterectomy to eradicate the primary source of Estrogen production, to maximize masculinization from Testosterone.
7. Another strong indication for gender-affirming Hysterectomy is to provide a feeling of wholeness and completeness. While not all trans men are bothered by having a uterus, others find its presence to be an acute source of gender dysphoria, and Hysterectomy can help align internal anatomy with external identity.

Why do Younger Adults Need to be Screened for Colon Cancer?
Tumblr media
The rising cases of colon cancer among young adults are alarming. It is the fourth most dangerous type of cancer coming from the cancer family. In India, young adults are among the most common patients of Colorectal or colon cancer. According to Global Cancer Observatory (GLOBOCAN) data released in 2020, India is witnessing a consistent rise in cases of colon cancer.
Thousands of colorectal cancer cases are registered every year in India. Even though the Indian population is enormous at over 1.3 billion people, the consistent growth of cancer cases in India is definitely worth looking over. Many youngsters ignore colon cancer symptoms at the early stages, only for the condition to develop into advanced cancer stages later. So, why should you opt for colon cancer screening? Because it can help save your life. So, let’s understand what colon cancer is, its symptoms, and the importance of colon cancer screening.
What is Colon Cancer?
Colon Cancer is the growth of cells in the colon, a section of the large intestine. The first and longest segment of the big intestine is called the colon. Colon cancer can strike anyone at any age, but it usually strikes older persons. Usually, it starts as little cell clusters inside the colon called polyps. Although these polyps don't fall in the category of cancer, some may turn into one.
What are the Symptoms of Colon Cancer?
Colon cancer symptoms may vary depending on the person. In most cases, symptoms may go undetected due to no detection in its early stage. However, some of the common ones are:
A shift in digestive patterns, such as increased frequency of diarrhea or constipation.
Bleeding in the rectum or blood in the stool?
Discomfort in the gut area, such as cramps, gas, or pain.
A sensation of heavy bowel movement.
Why are Younger Adults facing the heat of Colon Cancer?
Unfortunately, there are no specific findings on why young adults are diagnosed with colon cancer disease, especially the ones under age 35. Some medical experts feel that 15-20% of colon cases are due to genetic reasons, and others are due to lifestyle issues.
Understanding colon cancer causes is still underway. Besides, wrong diet and lifestyle schedules are significant contributors to the rising cases of colon cancer. Young adults with a hectic sedentary and busy lifestyle attract multiple health issues.
According to a 2023 study by the Delhi State Cancer Institute, there has been a concerning change in the graph of colon cancer cases, with a rise in cases reported among people between the ages of 31 and 40. The trend in question has been driven by lifestyle choices such as high-calorie diets, processed foods, smoking, and alcohol consumption.
Importance of Colon Cancer Screening among Young Adults
Widely referred to as the "silent killer", colon cancer is difficult to detect at the initial stage, which is why treatment is quite difficult. However, with the advancement in the medical field, colon cancer screening at home is now possible, which is one way of staying updated about the disease and its symptoms.
A full recovery from colorectal cancer is frequently possible with early identification. In the United States, there are currently over 1.4 million colorectal cancer survivors, and a big part of this success may be attributed to programmes for timely treatment, screening, and awareness.
Colon cancer screening helps to look for any cancer symptoms. There are different ways of screening and tests conducted. The overall goal is to:
Reduce the number of cancer-related deaths or do away with cancer deaths completely.
Reduce the number of individuals who get the illness.
Identify those who, because of genetic mutations, hereditary disorders, or family history, have an increased risk of developing cancer and may require more frequent screenings or a different kind of screening.
Since younger adults are forced into a busy lifestyle, timely undergoing colon cancer screening is essential. If you have any family history of cancer, then you shouldn't think twice before undergoing the test.
All adults under the age of 45 must undergo the screening once. Since there are different options available, you can choose the one recommended by your doctor at MASSH.
Different Types of Colon Cancer Diagnostic Tests
Colonoscopy : With a colonoscopy, the surgeon can access the whole rectum and colon. The surgeon would insert a colonoscope, and a flexible tube to check for polyps or cancer. A physician may remove tissue, such as polyps, for analysis during this operation. Additionally, polyp removal can stop colorectal cancer.
Stool Tests: If you want to undergo a test for colon cancer without a colonoscopy, then a stool test is the best option. This laboratory test looks for blood clots in stool samples. The faecal immunochemical test (FIT) uses antibodies to identify blood in the stool, whereas the guaiac-fecal occult blood test (gFOBT) utilizes a chemical.
The FIT is combined with a test that looks for changed DNA in the faeces to create the FIT-DNA test. These tests don't need you to be sedated or empty your colon beforehand, but they can miss certain tumours and polyps. A positive result from the FIT test would indicate that a colonoscopy is necessary.
Sigmoidoscopy: Like a colonoscopy, a sigmoidoscopy examines a smaller large intestine area. The invasive sigmoidoscopy procedure necessitates preparation, such as fasting, taking medication to cause diarrhoea, or using an enema to cleanse the colon.
This procedure is frequently less expensive and poses less hazards than a colonoscopy. It does not, however, assess the colon. A physician can discuss the advantages and disadvantages of sigmoidoscopy and colonoscopy in detail for each patient.
Stool DNA Tests: This test looks for cancer by analysing the DNA from a stool sample. It determines whether a colonoscopy is necessary based on alterations in DNA found in polyps and malignancies.
Double-contrast Barium Enema (DCBE): If you don't want to undergo the colonoscopy screening, DCBE is the option where an enema containing barium is administered to individuals; this helps the colon and rectum appear more prominent on x-rays. After that, a series of colon and rectum X-rays are obtained. Since a barium enema is less probable than a colonoscopy, sigmoidoscopy, or CT colonography to detect precancerous polyps, most clinicians advise against using it for screening purposes.
Conclusion
Colon Cancer can be life-threatening if early detection is ignored. Since there are several risk factors involved in this type of cancer, young adults need to be aware of it well. Early screening and treatment helped young adults to live healthy for long years. If you come across any symptoms, the best is to undergo colon cancer treatment in Delhi for the best result. So, if you are under the age of 40, check out MASSH to learn more about colon cancer screening, its risks, and treatment options. We specialize in minimally invasive surgeries that are safe for patients and offer quick recovery with minimal risks.                         Fungal nail infections, also known as onychomycosis, are an important dermatological condition that affects people all over the world. Considering the increasing incidence, it is critical for both consumers and healthcare professionals to comprehend the origins, signs, and appropriate therapy for toenail fungus. This in-depth manual seeks to explore the complexities of fungal nail infections by offering a complete analysis of their genesis, clinical presentations, and best practices for treatment. This book aims to equip readers with the necessary knowledge to identify, manage, and avoid the negative consequences of toenail fungus by clarifying the intricacies of this illness.
Tumblr media
Causes of Nails: Onychomycosis, or fungal infection Infection by Bacteria (Paronychia) Accident or Injury psoriasis dermatitis Diabetes Low Blood Pressure Immune System Issues Inadequate Nutrients imbalances in hormones Symptoms of the nails: Discoloration (Brown, Black, Yellow) Nail thickening, brittle texture, and shape changes. Pain or discomfort Nail separation from the nail bed Redness or swelling around the nail pus or drainage Symptoms may include bleeding or bruising under the nail, as well as ridges or pits on the nail surface.
Interpreting Symptoms of Fungal Nails: Identifying Signs of Onychomycosis
The diagnosis of onychomycosis, or toenail fungus, is aided greatly by the presence of fungal nail symptoms. Recognizing these signs is critical for prompt intervention and effective treatment of the illness. Affected nails can exhibit a number of distinguishable symptoms due to nail fungus, such as color change, thickness, and brittleness. In addition, pain, bad dour, and nail abnormalities are possible side effects. Knowing how toenail fungus looks is essential for differentiating it from other nail conditions and starting the right kind of therapy. By being aware of the symptoms and signs of fungal nail infections, people may take early action to get medical help and avoid onychomycosis from spreading and coming back.
Understanding the Causes of Nail Fungus: Understanding the Factors Behind Fungal Infections   Understanding the origins of nail fungus is critical for properly treating this common dermatological condition. Onychomycosis, the official name for nail fungus, is caused by a number of variables that foster the growth and colonization of fungi. Dermatophytes, a kind of fungus that grows best in warm, humid conditions—like those found in shoes or public baths—are one of the main reasons. On the other hand, nail infections can also be caused by other fungi, including molds and yeasts. Furthermore, nail fungus susceptibility might be increased by predisposing factors including ageing, poor circulation, weakened immune systems, and certain medical disorders like psoriasis or diabetes. Furthermore, lifestyle practices such as wearing tight-fitting shoes, going to public swimming pools or gyms barefoot, and sharing personal belongings like nail clippers or towels might increase the risk of fungal nail infections. The significance of preventative actions, such as good foot cleanliness, wearing breathable footwear, and avoiding exposure to areas where fungal infections grow, is highlighted by understanding these complex causes. Furthermore, understanding the underlying causes of nail fungus enables people to make educated decisions about their foot care routine and seek prompt treatment to successfully manage fungal infections
Managing Toenail Fungus: Identification, Management, and Preventive Measures
A comprehensive strategy that includes detection, treatment, and preventative measures is needed to control toenail fungus. Recognizing fungal nail signs is the first step towards successfully treating toenail fungus, since early management can avoid further development and problems. These symptoms often include nail discoloration, thickness, and brittleness, which are frequently accompanied by discomfort or pain. Understanding the underlying causes of nail fungus, such as dermatophytes in moist settings or reduced immune function, helps to choose the best therapeutic strategy. Topical antifungal creams, oral antifungal medicines, and, in extreme situations, surgical removal of the afflicted nail are possible treatment options. Preventive actions are also essential for controlling toenail fungus and lowering the likelihood of recurrence. You may prevent fungal nail infections by taking care of your feet, wearing breathable shoes, not sharing personal objects like nail clippers, and addressing any wounds or abrasions on your feet right away. The best foot health may be maintained and toenail fungus efficiently managed by combining diagnostic, treatment, and preventative actions.
Common cause of fungal nail infections
Fungal nail infections, commonly known as onychomycosis, are caused by a variety of fungus, the most prevalent of which being dermatophytes, yeast, and moulds. Because these fungi like warm, humid conditions, they can cause infections on nails. This is especially true in places like locker rooms, swimming pools, and public showers. Poor foot cleanliness, wearing tight or non-breathable shoes, and incurring nail damage can all provide possibilities for fungal entrance and development. Furthermore, some medical problems, such as diabetes or a weaker immune system, might increase the likelihood of getting fungal nail infections. In addition, vulnerability may also be influenced by ageing, hereditary predisposition, and circulatory problems. For fungal nail infections to be effectively prevented and managed, it is essential to understand these prevalent causes.
Recognizing Symptoms of Toenail Fungus
For a prompt diagnosis and course of treatment, it is important to identify the signs of toenail fungus. A little white or yellow patch beneath the nail tip may be the first sign of toenail fungus. The nail may become brittle, thicker, and discolored as the infection worsens. Additionally, the impacted nail may take on a deformed appearance with crumbling edges and debris building up below. There are instances where the nail might come away from the nail bed, which hurts and is uncomfortable.
Conclusion;
Our investigation into fungal nail causes, symptoms, and toenail fungus has yielded a thorough guide for understanding and treating this common dermatological problem. Through investigating the complexities of onychomycosis, we have discovered the several elements that contribute to its emergence, which include fungal infections, underlying medical disorders, and environmental factors. Additionally, recognizing the symptoms of fungus in the nails is essential for early diagnosis and treatment, which helps people seek treatment right away and stop the spread of toenail fungus. People may effectively treat fungal nail infections and preserve optimal foot health by combining effective management techniques with preventative measures, such as suitable footwear, regular foot care, and medical attention when necessary. In the end, this comprehensive book is an invaluable resource for both consumers and healthcare professionals, equipping individuals with the knowledge and skills necessary to confidently and effectively traverse the complexity of fungal nail origins, symptoms, and toenail fungus.

The signs, causes, and treatment of bulky uterus
Tumblr media
Have you ever heard of the term "भारी गर्भाशय" or bulky uterus? This condition is not being understood by many, but many women suffer because of this. Let's delve into what exactly a bulky uterus is and what causes it.
Firstly, what does it mean to have a bulky uterus? Simply put, it refers to an enlarged uterus. Now, before you start to panic, it's essential to know that having a bulky uterus doesn't necessarily mean there's something seriously wrong. This is very common and can happen because of several factors.
One of the primary causes of a bulky uterus is a hormonal imbalance. Fluctuations in hormone levels, particularly estrogen and progesterone, can lead to the uterus becoming enlarged. The hormonal disorder happens because of factors like stress, obesity, thyroid disorders, or can be due to a few medications.
Another reason for a bulky uterus is adenomyosis. This happens because the tissue that lies normally with the uterus starts growing into the uterus wall As a result, the uterus becomes enlarged and may cause symptoms such as heavy menstrual bleeding and pelvic pain.
Uterine fibroids are also a leading cause of a bulky uterus. Fibroids are non-cancerous growths that develop in the muscular wall of the uterus. While they are usually benign, they can cause symptoms such as pelvic pressure, frequent urination, and heavy menstrual bleeding, leading to an enlarged uterus.
Other possible causes of a bulky uterus include uterine polyps, pelvic inflammatory disease (PID), and endometrial hyperplasia. In some cases, pregnancy can also temporarily enlarge the uterus.
So, what should you do if you suspect you have a bulky uterus? First and foremost, it's essential to consult with a healthcare professional. Several physical examinations are done, and imaging tests like ultrasound MRI, and different diagnostic tests to find the cause of an enlarged uterus.
Treatment for a bulky uterus depends on the underlying cause and the severity of the symptoms. In many cases, no treatment may be necessary, especially if the enlargement is mild and does not cause any symptoms.
