Can’t put into words just how amazing it was to actually see my best friend and big sister in person today (even though it sucked not being able to hug) 🥰😭💖 I am immensely lucky to know this amazing woman; she’s honestly incredible. She makes the world a better place every single day just by being in it and being herself. Grateful to have a best friend and big sister who understands me and my condition so well, and who’s here for the good times, the bad times, and everything in between. Today is bittersweet, The last live show of the Tom Joyner Morning Show. I first worked with @flyjocktomjoyner before he was the FLYJock. We worked at the legendary K104 in Dallas, TX. I was doing overnights and Tom Joyner Morning Show when my show ended. One morning Tom said Spike you’re from up north right (Spike was my radio name back then) I said yes, he said do you like chicken, I said yes. He said have you ever had ”chicken” fried steak before. I said no. He said it’s a southern thing the next time you go into a restaurant in Dallas asked for ”chicken” fried steak, but make sure to ask for the white meat. I said OK and everybody in the room started laughing. Based on their laughter, I did not do that. Come to find out that’s nothing but ground beef with batter on it. We’ve been cool ever since then. I wish you nothing but a long life after radio; you will never be replaced. Gratitude Project Day 12: Best friends. Today I am extremely grateful for having not just one but 2 best friends. They are so alike in so many ways yet so different in others. At times they have walked the same path and at others seem like they’re on different planets; but through it all they’re always here for me. They both seem to have a sense when to call, when I need to talk, when I need them. They both have busy lives and families of their own. They’re both single moms and both work in the classroom which I find extraordinary. They both manage to do this all with Grace though they may not think so at times, they do. He’s too tall, the bastard 😂! Feeling so incredibly lucky that @conjonsilver92 came into my life in that urology waiting room all those years ago; I honestly don’t know what I’d do without him. He’s helped me get to the grand old age of 25 (a quarter of a century old!!) with his love, support, encouragement, steady supply of semi pornographic photos, alcohol, cwtches, and his constant belief in me, even when I don’t believe in myself. And our meeting has led to two whole families starting to merge together; the Davies Clan and the James’s know how to have a good party 🎉! I just HATE cancer!!! I hate that I have to type a post like this again...
