This week has been hard for a lot of reasons that have nothing to do with what I’m writing now. I was feeling melancholy and decided that I’d troll Tumblr for a bit. I came across this gem and felt my heart squeeze. This was posted 7/23/17... over two and a half years ago.

This month marks the official one year anniversary of having Permanent Guardianship of the kids I was writing about. It’s surreal. It’s been a trip... and I think I need to talk about it.

She doesn't wear ponytails anymore, and lives in a different state. I haven't even spoken to her in about a month or so. As a matter of fact, she still calls me Ms. Kelle. And I don't even know what she does in the military service. But she knows that whenever she's home, our couch is hers. The last bowl of cereal is too. EASY!
