Task 01: Gilded Restraint

Lucy’s fingers traced the edges of the blue lace agate, her expression hardened with distaste. The bracelet was beautiful, sure—its raw, jagged crystal shimmered in the light, an ethereal blue that might have captivated her in another life. But in this twisted reality, the stone was nothing more than a symbol of her imprisonment.

She turned her wrist, watching the stone catch the light, its surface rough and untamed, unlike the polished gems she used to wear. The crystal’s delicate bands of blue and white should have been calming, soothing even, but all Lucy could feel was the weight of it—heavy, constricting. It wasn’t an accessory; it was a shackle, cold and unyielding against her skin. A constant reminder that she was trapped here, in this nightmare, with no way out.

In the past, she would have appreciated the craftsmanship, the unique beauty of the stone. But now, it was just another thing to despise about this place. The bracelet was a prison cuff disguised as jewelry, mocking her with its faux elegance. Lucy scowled, resisting the urge to rip the thing off her wrist, knowing deep down that it wouldn’t matter. She was stuck with it, just as she was stuck on this godforsaken island.
