TES V OC Thingie
[Got tagged by @jessaryss ! ]
Pause your game! Wherever your OC is in their game currently, tell me about their story so far.
✧✧✧ General
Current Level: 56
Name: Jeer-Tei Perdes
Name Meaning: Literally got it from a name generator lol. But lore wise it was a name gifted to them in honor of an Argonian who served beside Tei’s mother during the Great War
Pronouns: They/Them
Age: Early 30s where they are story wise???
Race(s): Argonian
Place of Origin: Hammerfell
Pick A Theme Song For Them: oof that's tough... From a Crowded Wound or maybe even Firstwake? If you really played around w personal interpretation/the lyrics that is haha
✧✧✧ Locations
Where Did You Begin Their Game?: Argonian Assemblage, Windhelm (Alternative Start)
Where Are They Currently In Your Game?: Whiterun
What Are They Doing There?: Just finished attending a party held in their honor (Post Blood of Kings)
Homes?: Breezehome, Proudspire, Lakeview & Autmnwatch
# of Locations Discovered?: 274
Dungeons Cleared: 104
Misc. Quests Completed: 87
Favorite Areas and/or Locations: Falkreath / Lakewview Manor. Both areas are where Tei heads off to in order to collect their thoughts/feel some sense of calm.
✧✧✧ Main Quest
Are They Dragonborn / Do They Know It At This Point?: Yes & yes
How Do They Feel About Being Dragonborn: It's...complicated, being thrust into the role of savior by gods of the Cult, which in turn are followed by the folk who see you lesser than them. Tei already has a dislike towards the Divines, this doesn't really help lol
Main Quests Completed: 21
Where Are They In The Main Story Line: Alduin's dead, currently trying to ignore the Civil War as long as they can before the Empire forces its hand into forcing them to join their ranks
Dragon Souls Absorbed: In total overall? 147. The amount currently stored in Tei? 45
Words of Power Learned: 64
Shouts Mastered: 21
Favorite Shout: Firebreath / Dragonrend
✧✧✧ Combat
Most Used Weapon(s): Daedric war axe OR Dragonbone battle axe. Tei technically has both on them at all times during adventuring, alongside a shield, so which they used depends on the situation/which they grab fastest.
Combat Style: Two/One-handed tank. Main tactic is to rush in, cause as much damage/chaos as possible to shake up the opponent, & clean up what the ranged attackers of the party (usually Rumarin, Inigo and/or Lucien) weren't able to deal with.
Armor Type / Level In It: HEAVY ARMOR BABYYYYY (Level 100 + 35 extra points via enchantments)
# of Training Sessions: 99 in-game, lore wise its a lot of self-teaching/keeping their skills learned from Hammerfell sharp. Some of these are magic but lore-wise this doesn't happen cus Tei is not a magic user, save for shouts. I just did those in-game for exp OR so I can help Lucien raise his magic skills :'D
Who Taught Them?: In-game?? Fuuuck so many npcs. Lore-wise? They learned this from their schooling in Hammerfell, going off the canon-lore that it's p much expected for everyone to have a grasp on combat & weaponry! Though they did learn a few things from Kaidan & Anum-La.
Favorite Enemy Type: Dragons! Despite the fact Tei does not have the best magic resistance, it's one hell of a challenge they love to meet.
Least Favorite Enemy Type: Automatons, because of a bad experience with them as a child. Also Undead, because they were raised not to disturb them & it just feels so wrong having to fight them/go into tombs.
People Killed: 945
Animals Killed: 749 (Hunterborn makes hunting fun lol)
Undead Killed: 766
Automatons Killed: 105
Daedra Killed: 136
✧✧✧ Magic
Favorite School(s): None, actually. Destruction is okay though....they guess
Most Used Spell(s): Firebreath or Dragon Aspect. Tei doesn't consider shouts spells though. It's totally different guys shut up they ain't no smelly mage gods
Spells Learned: 9 in-game, mainly due to the spells you're kinda forced to learn for some quests/the ones you automatically know
Items Enchanted: 19 (Tei technically doesn't enchant, and wont next playthrough for sure I wont give in this time >:[ )
College of Winterhold Quests Completed: 8
Where Are They At In The Questline?: Main quest is done bcus i dont like seeing unfinished quests in my journal lmao. Tei's involvement is completely different from canon though in my take. Moreso was hired as a guard for the expedition & was, unwillingly, dragged into the rest of the mess. Is not offered the Archmage position, that went straight to Tolfdir.
Opinions on Magical Guilds (Arcane University, Winterhold, Psijics, Synod, Radiant Dark, etc.): As they get older, they tolerate the guild & magic users more n more, BUT, Tei grew up in an environment that frowns upon the practice of magic, & it shows. They mainly mistrust necromancers/illusionists & still hold onto that belief that reliance on magic, especially for combat, is a weakness.
Bold words for someone with shit magic resistance.
✧✧✧ Crime
Current Gold: 10,640
How Did They Acquire Their Gold?: Odd jobs, selling a lot of the items they made/harvested from smithing & hunting (jewelers are their go-to hirers bcus Tei is great at getting things like ivory), Dwemer ruin diving (they refuse to loot the tombs), also yknow....being part of the Dark Brotherhood helps
Largest Bounty On Their Head: 11,240
For...?: Unfortunately they did not stand down when they were being falsely accused of murder in Markarth. First time Tei called down dragons (Sahrotaar, specifically, Tei managed to get command of Miraak's dragons post-Dragonborn) to absolutely smite some fools.
Current Bounty: None! They're good at not getting caught/threatening and/or bribing guards. :)
Locks Picked: 15 i think?
Jail Time: 1, Cidhna Mine
Jail Escapes: 1, teamed up w the Forsworn lol
Murders: 28
Assaults: 307....In their defense people keep getting in their way during dragon attacks
Items Stolen: 37, most of them from the nobles of Windhelm
Thieves Guild Quests Completed: N/A (wont be doing this storyline unless i cant find a mod that'll let me get the shouts locked behind it)
Dark Brotherhood Quests Completed: 20
Where Are They At In Those Questlines?: DB is completed main arc wise!
✧✧✧ Relationships
Relationship Status: Married to two lovely fellas
Current Companions: atm? none
Housecarls: Lydia & Rayya
Friends (outside of party): Zora Fair-Child, Inigo, Lucien, Anum-La, Morndas, Aela the Huntress, Nazir, Babette, Scouts-Many-Marshes, Isobel, Madesi
Children: Khash, Chases-Starlight, Ram-Ku. (going of where Tei is now - Otero & Mei come around later on in Tei's story!)
Romantic Interest(s): Kaidan & Rumarin.
Sexual Orientation:
GAY
✧✧✧ Religion
Pantheon: Yokudan, with a hint of Hircine worship in there
Patron Deity(ies): From the Yokudan pantheon: Tei mainly views HoonDing as their main patron, but also prays to/pays respect to Satakal.
They are also Hircine's champion.
Daedric Quests Completed: 3 (Hircine, Vile, Dagon - the last Tei didn't really help, moreso pissed off)
Aedric Quests Completed: 1 if you count the whole Alduin thing I guess?
How Devout Are They?: Tei is rather devout, esp to their Yokudan patrons, praying or making offerings daily. They aren't the type to really push it in your face though, but have no issues answering questions one might have.
How Do They Feel About Talos Worship?: Deep down they acknowledge & admit trying to ban worship is terrible, but....Tei also lets their bias/experience with Windhelm, the Stormcloaks & especially Ulfric kinda cloud over this. If the Nords want their old ways so damn much, why fight for a divine from the Imperial Cult? Why not go back to the actual old ways? No, this isn't about worship, not to the men leading this so-called rebellion, they just needed something other than their racist bullshit to fool the common man into throwing their lives away for the nobles sitting comfortable in their thrones.
Also during their whole thing of getting into their role of dragonborn, they get a bonus 'fuck this dude actually' towards Talos, Ysmir, whatever the fuck he calls himself. (tldr; it sucks but good luck hearing Tei say that fully)
✧✧✧ Politics
Gray-Mane or Battle-Born?: Neither, ask them again they will punch you for the love of Ruptga they get asked that every time they enter Whiterun.
Stormcloaks or Imperials?: Also neither, Tei hates em both n think they can all choke. Unfortunately they were forced to join the latter due to, yknow, calling dragons & causing massive damage in Imperial territories during isolated fits of rage and the group being more aggressive in wanting something in return for "letting it slide"....oops
Opinion on the Thalmor?: Oh absolutely despises them, they loudly complained having to work with them during the CW & would go out their way to disrupt their plans/piss them off. Sneaking was an option they did not take during the Embassy quest, if it helps paint the picture.
Opinion Of Ulfric Stormcloak?: Tei doens't say they hate people often...but they sure as hell hate Ulfric. Again, their experience in Windhelm added to this heavily, how both the Dunmer & Argonians were treated like shit, with no help whatsoever from the Jarl or guards when the local Nords targeted them. It's still up in the air if I keep this for Tei's story, but I have it where they knew Chases-Starlight's parents, who were killed. When Tei went up & demanded justice/an investigation, only to be brushed off because it "wasn't a priority," it completely destroyed what little empathy or hope they had left for Windhelm as a whole.
Opinion of The Empire?: Cowards too weak to continue fighting back against the Thalmor, in their opinion, & holds these views they grew up with even when being strong-armed into aiding them. If anything they're at least attempting to use their influence to hint towards a rebellion against the Thalmor, but the Empire could also full-on dissolve & they could give less of a shit.
Civil War Quests Completed: 0
✧✧✧ Personal
How Are They Doing? Need Some Juice? A Nap? A Hug?: The whole event of Blood of Kings has fucked with their head, to say the least. It's the starting point of Tei's eventual spiral. So uh...yeah they're not sure how they're doing everything they knew about reality was kinda challenged & they don't rlly have anyone to talk to about it so its cool, its fine, its all good.
A nap is probably needed, not sure about a hug theough they're super flinchy rn
Days Past In Game: 196
Hours of Sleep: 846
Food Items Consumed: 1833
How Many Playthroughs Have You Done With This Character: Tei actually is an older character from the 360 days so uh...maybe 5 at most? This playthrough & their S:EC one coming up when the mod releases being the main ones focusing on their story
Overall How's Your Level Of Fun: Alright I would say! I just been stepping away from Skyrim more often lately to avoid burning out from it
Must Have Mods To Play This Character (for story or other reasons): Ordinator, Wintersun Faiths, Immersive Armors, Sarcastic Player Dialogue, 3DNPC, Inigo, Lucien Flavius, Kaidan 2, Khash the Argonian, Alternative Start, Leviathan Animations, Beast Race Body Paints, Beast HHBB, Apocalypse Magic, Deadly Dragons, Growl: Werewolf Overhaul, Pronouns, uhhh....idk what else without actually listing my current modlist lmao
----
And that's it for Tei! Anyone who wants to do this go on ahead!

Buck x OC
Buck is buying a gift for Jee-Yun. It's the first thing he is gonna give his niece and he is nervous, he needs something special and unique, but also very Buck, so Jee-Yun can remember him for forever. He doesn't want Chim to hear about it and we know how the fam can't keep a secret, so he decides to go to Twitter and ask. It becomes viral or not, up to you, but one of the answers he gets catches his attention so he answers and the other person answers him back and suddenly they are having conversations about everything and anything, even after he buys the gift for Jee-Yun and meet her for the first time.
Any way, at some point he and the person chatting in internet decide to meet in person. And what a surprise, he/she/they is someone he met when he was going around, and they have story, but the spark is still there
Hi I love you, thank you so much for this request!
Pairing: Evan “Buck” Buckley x OC
Characters: Evan “Buck” Buckley, Original Female Character, Howie “Chimney” Han, Maddie Buckley, Jee-Yun
Tags: Fluff, awkward reunions, mentions of sex, Buck being an uncle, alternate universe from S.o.S, a lil bit of angst bc Buck can’t figure out a good gift, one count ‘em one swear word
Buck is at his wits end, he’s been struggling to find the perfect gift for his newborn niece but everything he’s looked at has been so cliche so far from teddy bears and blankets to personalized rattles she’ll eventually outgrow. He needs something else- something unique that is the best gift possible- something that she’ll cherish for years to come- and preferably something that Maddie and Chimney won’t throw out.
He’s out of ideas and he’s running out of time so it’s time for drastic measures. Twitter. It’s a last ditch effort really, sending out a tweet begging asking for suggestions on what to get his newborn niece, some of the answers he gets are absurd such as the newspaper on the day that he’ll meet her- what kind of gift is that? Another suggestion is a bath bundle which sounds good at first but then again it’s not very personal to Jee-Yun which is who the gift he’s buying is for, there are more simple things such as blankets and baby clothes but at some point she’ll grow out of those.
Buck feels as though there’s no point in asking anyone, he’ll have to get his favorite niece some crappy gift that won’t be anywhere near perfect and everyone will make fun of him and-
RaeOfSunshine28: How about a memory book?
Huh.
That’s actually....the best suggestion he’s heard all day. He likes the tweet and sends a reply to the stranger who has brought him salvation.
FireH0seBuckley: That sounds like a really cool idea, thx!
He doesn’t think about it for the rest of the day until he’s off work and trying to find a memory book, it’s been awfully difficult for him not to gloat around the station that he’s got the best gift ever planned for Jee-Yun, Where in the world would he ever find that? He’s been searching for awhile when another idea pops into his head.
Message from FireH0seBuckley:
Heyyyy! So thx again for the gift idea...any idea where to get one? :P
Message from RaeOfSunshine28:
Np, Maybe try a craft store? It’ll probably be w/ the scrapbooking stuff. You could try doing it yourself tho.
Message from FireH0seBuckley:
Mehhhh seems like too much work LOL
Message from RaeOfSunshine28:
.-. Bro don’t be lazy it’s ur niece
Message from FireH0seBuckley:
:P You’re no fun
Message from RaeOfSunshine28:
Tell me something I don’t know.
Message from FireH0seBuckley:
Oxygen supply can influence the color of a fire.
Message from RaeOfSunshine28:
?????
Message from FireH0seBuckley:
You said to tell you something you don’t know, now you tell me something about you!
Message from RaeOfSunshine28:
Since when did we start playing 20 questions?
Message from FireH0seBuckley:
Since now!
Buck smiles down at his phone as he and whoever he’s messaging begin to message back and fourth, it’s nice to have someone new to talk to when everyone is busy. This goes on for about a month or so, they message each other frequently and end up texting throughout their days, he feels like it’s become more than a friendship but he doesn’t want to jump to any conclusions. Buck’s been heartbroken enough in the past- but he’s come to the realization that he wants to me this person in....well, person. So he suggests meeting at a local coffee place to finally see each other face to face, it surprises and elates him when they agree.
He’s nervous as he waits at the coffee shop, this is the first time that he’s actually been the one asking someone out, Abby was the one who called him- so was Ali, and Taylor bought him a drink at a bar so making the first move wasn’t in his wheelhouse. The only time he’d usually make the first move was when he was having sex.
The bell to the cafe’s door chimed catching Buck’s attention- speaking of sex- the woman that walked in was someone he recognized, he never caught her name but he certainly remembered the long black hair and stunning green eyes. She doesn’t notice him, at least not right away, instead opening her phone to send a message to someone...at the same time Buck’s phone vibrates in his pocket.
Realization comes crashing into him as he frantically pulls out his phone- there’s no way- there’s no possible way-
Message from RaeOfSunshine28:
Hey I’m here, not certain if you are yet. Want me to get you anything? :)
Holy shit it is. The twitter user he’s been talking to was someone that he’d had a one night stand with. He realizes that he must have been staring at her because her gaze is suddenly on him, eyeing him suspiciously as though she’s trying to place it. When she finally comes to the realization of where she knows him from her eyes become wide with embarrassment, mouth turning into an ‘Oh.’ shape. He gives her a small smile and a wave as she walks over to him.
“Fancy meeting you here stranger, didn’t think I’d be seeing you again since you ghosted me.” She greets all too casually for someone who- nope not thinking like that.
“Did I really ghost you?” Buck asks confidently a genuine smile working it’s way on to his face.
“Well I would say that waking up to an empty bed with no way to contact you would be a good way of ghosting me.” She hums lightly in response.
“Oh but RaeOfSunshine twenty-eight I would say that I have kept in great contact with you.” Her bemused expression suddenly drops into one of shock as he speaks.
“You’re kidding. You’re fire hose Buckley?”She asks sounding incredulous.
“The one and only. So, it’s nice to meet you Rae.” He officially greets extending his hand.
“It’s Raven actually, my friends call me Rae though and since we’ve been past that I suppose you can call me Rae. It’s nice to meet you as well Buckley.” She says a smile beginning to form.
“Buck, actually. Buckley is my last name and Evan is my first name everyone just calls me Buck.”
So it’s a rough start to their relationship but it certainly feels like a good start none the less.
Bonus:
“So why is your twitter handle fire hose?”
“Really? You don’t remember?”
“Maybe I’m just asking for a refresher.”

GIGABYTE GeForce RTX 3090 Gaming OC video card: Review| Specs | Set-up|
Tumblr media
Review and test of the GIGABYTE GeForce RTX 3090 Gaming OC video card - silence and ultimate performance! | Video Cards | Reviews| Hashrate In one of my reviews, I looked at the GeForce RTX 3080 Gaming OC graphics card, which really opens the door to the 4K gaming league. But, in fairness, it should be noted that this graphics adapter is only a pre-top solution in the product line with the Ampere architecture. The place of the flagship is at the mercy of video cards with an NVIDIA RTX 3090 GPU and 24 GB GDDR6X memory. This video card will be discussed in this review. I will test and tell you about the GIGABYTE GeForce RTX 3090 Gaming OC , which you can buy now at a price of 164,999 rubles. Specifications - Manufacturer: GIGABYTE; - Модель: GeForce RTX 3090 GAMING OC; - GPU: Ampere GA102; - Process technology: 8 nm; - GPU frequency: 1395 MHz; - GPU Boost frequency in games: 1755 MHz; - Number of shader processors: 10496; - Video memory: 24 GB; - Video memory type: GDDR6X; - Video memory bus width: 384 bits; - Video memory frequency: 19500 MHz (2438 GHz QDR); - Порты: 3 x DisplayPort 1.4a, 2 x HDMI 2.1; - Additional power connector: 2 x 8-pin; - TDP parameter: 370 W; - Dimensions: 320 x 129 x 60 mm. Packaging and delivery set By the appearance of the graphics accelerator box, we can say that its design has not changed much in comparison with previous generations of video cards. The changes are only visible in the details. For the RTX 3090 Gaming OC, this is the model name and memory size, as well as the technological features accompanying the device. The main bet in the RTX 3090 Gaming OC is on the cooling system for the graphics adapter. It is to her that most of the information on the back of the cardboard box is devoted. Also, the emphasis is on the metal backplate and RGB backlighting of the video card. The RTX 3090 Gaming OC is guaranteed for 4 years from the date of purchase. In order for this guarantee to be valid, the manufacturer asks to register the device on a specialized website. How to do it correctly and simply, the booklet included in the delivery set will tell you. Also inside the box, the user will find a small user manual. Appearance and features The look of the RTX 3090 Gaming OC can be most accurately described as calm. The video card does not differ in "flashy" design, and its cooling system is not overloaded with an abundance of decorative elements for RGB backlighting. At the same time, the dimensions of the RTX 3090 Gaming OC are impressive - 320 x 129 x 60 mm in length, height and thickness, respectively. Almost the entire back side of the RTX 3090 Gaming OC is covered with a metal plate with an inscription in the form of the manufacturer's name. Excellent PCB protection solution. The thickness of the radiator of the RTX 3090 Gaming OC cooling system shows that they definitely did not save on this aspect. At the same time, the manufacturer has designed a metal backplate with an upper L-shaped bend. This made it possible to protect the video card from the top end and it is convenient to take it in hand when removing the motherboard from the PCIe slot. The bottom end of the RTX 3090 Gaming OC radiator is almost completely open for ventilation. The used plastic casing of the cooling system is designed in such a way as not to interfere with the removal of the air flow blown by the fans. The right side of the RTX 3090 Gaming OC is tightly closed with a casing of the cooling system. Only two attachment points for corporate PC builders dilute the picture at this point in the graphics case. The five connectors for displaying the image on the RTX 3090 Gaming OC are installed in two rows. These include two HDMI 2.1 and three DisplayPort 1.4a. The video card supports connection of up to four monitors at the same time, the maximum possible resolution is 7680 x 4320 pixels at a refresh rate of 60 Hz. Let's take a closer look at some of the design features of the RTX 3090 Gaming OC that definitely deserve attention. First of all, it will be the RGB backlight module on the upper end of the graphics accelerator. It is designed in the form of GIGABYTE lettering, which can glow in all colors of the rainbow and can be controlled using RGB Fusion 2.0. As an additional power supply on the RTX 3090 Gaming OC, a pair of 8-pin connectors are implemented, which turn out to be slightly recessed relative to the CO casing and the backplate of the video card. Another interesting feature of the RTX 3090 Gaming OC is the cooling organization called "Screen Cooling". It is a through blowing of the CO radiator by the third fan. To implement this method of cooling, the metal backplate of the RTX 3090 Gaming OC provides many cutouts, which are also an element of decorating the video card. A nice bonus for owners of RTX 3090 Gaming OC will be the presence of two BIOS chips, the switch between which is installed on the upper end of the graphics adapter. It allows you to choose between a quiet mode of the cooling system and a more aggressive one called "OS". In the Ampere product line, graphics cards with an RTX 3090 chip are given the exclusive ability to combine into multi-graphics configurations using SLI technology. Therefore, on the top end of the RTX 3090 Gaming OC, you can see the pins of the NVIDIA NVlink connector. Cooling system Starting the story about the RTX 3090 Gaming OC, I noted for a reason that the manufacturer of this graphics adapter focuses on the cooling system. And there is really something to see here. First of all, the massiveness of the radiator itself with heat pipes and a copper contact pad is impressive. To connect the CO and RGB fans of the video card backlight, three cables with 4-pin connectors are used. At the heart of the CO of the RTX 3090 Gaming OC is a thick copper plate that contacts the GPU crystal directly. Also, this plate gets heat from 12 GDDR6X memory chips on the front side of the PCB. Seven 6mm heatpipes help to quickly distribute heat throughout the body of the radiator. At the same time, the VRM zones are also not without attention - for the most heated elements, heat removal to the CO radiator is provided using thermal pads. One 80mm and a pair of 90mm fans with unique impeller blades are built into the CO casing of the RTX 3090 Gaming OC video card. During operation of these fans, an alternative rotation pattern is used. The central fan rotates clockwise, while the two outer ones rotate counterclockwise. This technique optimizes airflow and increases the overall cooling efficiency of the graphics adapter. The turntables used are manufactured by PowerLogic. And so the radiator of the RTX 3090 Gaming OC cooling system looks from the front side with the plastic cover removed. It can be seen that five heat pipes go to the left section of the radiator at once, while two more fall on the right section with a copper contact pad. The backplate in the RTX 3090 Gaming OC does more than just protect the PCB. This can be seen by a detailed analysis of the graphics adapter. This aluminum plate is used to dissipate heat from 12 GDDR6X memory chips on the back side of the PCB. The backplate is also a mount for an adapter for additional power connectors, which allowed placing a pair of 8-pin connectors on the right corner of the video card on the RTX 3090 Gaming OC. Printed circuit board The PCB of the RTX 3090 Gaming OC graphics adapter is oversaturated with the element base and this is primarily due to the technological features of this flagship product. The layout of the components on the PCB is built around the GPU, which is centered on the PCB. A similar picture is observed on the back of the RTX 3090 Gaming OC. In particular, half of the 12 GDDR6X memory chips are soldered to this side of the PCB. The computing power of the RTX 3090 Gaming OC is based on the GA102-300-A1 GPU, made using an 8nm process technology at a Samsung factory. According to the chip labeling, it was produced in the 32nd week of 2020. This GPU contains 10496 CUDA cores, 328 texture units and 112 raster units. It includes 328 tensor and 82 RT cores. 24 GB of on-board GDDR6X memory is packed with 24 Micron chips of 1 GB each. They are soldered on both sides of the PCB, right next to the GPU. The operating frequency of the memory is 19500 MHz, which, in the presence of a 384-bit bus, makes it possible to obtain a bandwidth of 936 GB / s. The RTX 3090 Gaming OC's 19-phase power system is wired to either side of the GPU. The power harness provides 15 phases for the GPU and 4 phases for the GDDR6X memory chips. To control the power supply of the video card, three uP9512R digital PWM controllers from uPI Semiconductor are used. They are wired from both the front and back sides of the PCB. A separate Holtek HT32F52342 chip drives the LED backlighting of the RTX 3090 Gaming OC graphics card. Test stand - Processor - Intel Core i7-10700k (8-cores) - Motherboard - Gigabyte Z490i Aorus Ultra - Cooling system - Noctua NH-U12S Chromax.black - Thermointerface - Arctic MX-2 - RAM - G.Skill Trident Z RGB DDR4-4266 8Gb * 2 @ 4400cl18 - Storage - M.2 SSD Samsung 970 Pro + M.2 SSD Intel 660p - Power Supply - Corsair RM850x 850W - Case - Corsair 540 Air - Монитор - TV LG, 47", 1920x1080, 2560x1440/3840x2160 (NVIDIA DSR) - Operating system - Windows 10 Pro 64-bit 2004 - Drivers - GeForce 457.30. The RTX 3090 Gaming OC graphics card was installed in a test bench with an Intel Core i7-10700k processor and a Gigabyte Z490i Aorus Ultra motherboard. The RTX 3090 Gaming OC's LED backlighting is modest but impressive enough at night. Using RGB Fusion 2.0, you can customize the lighting to your liking and preference. Testing was carried out with the case cover open. This is how the RTX 3090 Gaming OC video card looked against the background of the test build. Temperatures, noise, power consumption and overclocking Moving on to getting acquainted with the RTX 3090 Gaming OC in practical conditions, let's look at the operation of the video card cooling system, as well as evaluate the overclocking capabilities of the sample I have in my hands. With the main BIOS "OC" mode, the power consumption limit of the graphics adapter can be increased by software up to 390 watts. Modestly relative to other versions of this flagship, but it does not pretend to be an extreme overclocking RTX 3090 Gaming OC. But in idle or with a slight load, the RTX 3090 Gaming OC graphics card shows itself remarkably. The cooling fans stop and can return to active mode only when the GPU heats up over 55 degrees Celsius. I launch Furmark and immediately check the Boost frequency of the RTX 3090 Gaming OC using GPU-Z monitoring. On average, the chip "boosts" even a little higher than the manufacturer's declared value of 1755 MHz. At the same time, the GPU temperature does not rise above 64 degrees Celsius. And this is when the power consumption of the video card is impressive 350 watts. Bravo cooling system Windforce3X. I am trying to overclock the RTX 3090 Gaming OC graphics card to the maximum possible values, using the maximum possible power consumption limit of the graphics adapter. After these manipulations and selection of frequencies, the following picture is obtained. The graphics processor on the RTX 3090 Gaming OC kicks in confidently at 1950 MHz, while the GDDR6X memory clocks in at 21504 MHz. At the same time, the maximum GPU temperature does not exceed 67 degrees Celsius under Furmark load. To achieve this overclocking of the RTX 3090 Gaming OC, the power consumption limit slider was unscrewed by + 105%, the GPU by +110 points, and the memory by +1000 points. Despite the horror stories on the Internet that new video cards with NVIDIA Ampere architecture need a 1000 W or higher power supply, the RTX 3090 Gaming OC graphics card has moderate appetites for power consumption. The peak power consumption of the entire test system did not exceed 600W, which allowed the used Corsair RM850x PSU to feel comfortable. Thanks to the extremely efficient cooling system, the RTX 3090 Gaming OC is also quite quiet. On rare occasions, during a gaming load, the noise from the entire system exceeded 40 dBA. Performance The synthetic test in the AIDA64 program allows you to evaluate the computational performance of a video card. For the RTX 3090 Gaming OC, it is possible to obtain high performance values for FP32 blocks. Rendering the scene in the Cinebench R15 benchmark with the RTX 3090 Gaming OC scores highly on the performance of this graphics adapter. The RTX 3090 Gaming OC also performs well in the V-Ray application, in which a scene with this graphics accelerator can be completed in an impressive 20-22 seconds. Now let's see how the RTX 3090 Gaming OC performs in the popular 3D Mark gaming benchmark. On the left will be the performance results at the factory settings of the graphics adapter, on the right - after overclocking +110 MHz for GPU / + 1000 MHz for GDDR6X. The TimeSpy and TimeSpy Extreme tests show that the performance gain of the RTX 3090 Gaming OC after manual overclocking is impressive. For benchmarking performance with beams, the Port Royal benchmark is an excellent option. Here, the RTX 3090 Gaming OC scores almost 14,000 points after overclocking. Ray tracing technology on the RTX 3090 Gaming OC can also be assessed using the auxiliary benchmark 3D Mark package. A test scene run is given to a video card with almost 60 frames per second. At the same time, let's look at the scaling of the RTX 3090 Gaming OC when working with DLSS technology. Here, the graphics adapter shows more than double the frame rate after activating this NVIDIA technology. I also tested the RTX 3090 Gaming OC in five graphics-heavy games using only the highest possible settings. It goes without saying that the performance evaluation of the RTX 3090 Gaming OC adapter was made at three popular resolutions 4K (3840x2160 DSR), 2K (2560x1440 DSR) and FullHD (1920x1080). Far Cry 5 Shadow of the Tomb Raider Wolfenstein: Youngblood Red Dead Redemption II Metro Exodus In some gaming projects, the FPS turned out to be so high that one could even talk about the excess performance of the RTX 3090 Gaming OC. But for full-fledged 4K gaming, this video card is definitely ready and there is no doubt about it. If we relax some part of the graphics settings, then I dare to assume that this graphics adapter will also pull out 8K gaming. Especially if these are unhurried single projects, for the passage of which 50-60 frames / s will be enough for the user. Conclusion Any graphics adapter with a GeForce RTX 3090 chip is a solution of today and tomorrow, which is deservedly the flagship among video cards for personal computers. With an impressive 24GB of memory and truly ultimate performance, this graphics adapter is made to be a gamer's dream. It just doesn't make sense to buy such a video card for monitors with low resolution. Potential applications for the GeForce RTX 3090 are 4K and 8K gaming, as well as competitive gaming on 240, 280, and 360 Hz monitors. As for the specifically tested GIGABYTE GeForce RTX 3090 Gaming OC model, its cooling system definitely deserves a positive assessment. By dissipating nearly 400W of heat, the Windforce 3X cooling system manages to do so with a minimum of noise and cool temperatures. At the same time, as shown by testing, the RTX 3090 Gaming OC video card can be overclocked quite well beyond the factory values. Also in this graphics adapter I liked the presence of a metal backplate and RGB LED backlighting. Out of the box, the video card has factory overclocking and two BIOS chips with the ability to switch between them.
