Sunbird Books - A fundraising project
Hello everyone,
let me introduce our fundraising project, created with the purpose to raise funds for five displaced Palestinian families.
These campaigns are all verified, our team is directly in contact with them and share constant updates about their campaigns, needs and any other important update.
What do we do?
Our goal is to provide donations to these families but in a direct way, which means that we won't receive any of the money nor we touch them in any way. So, how do we do that? It's quite simple, you can reach out to us on our accounts (you can find us on X with the same username) choosing one of our e-books and we will assign you to one of the five families.
How do we work?
Once you reach out, telling us which e-book you want, you will be assigned to a family, you will make a 10$ donation to their gofundme, so the money will go directly to them.
We only require a screenshot as proof of donation and you can cover your name for privacy, then you can provide us an e-mail so we can send you the e-book or you can ask for the direct link to download it by yoursel, if you prefer not to share your e-mail.
You can request more than one e-book, but keep in mind that 10$= 1 e-book.
About our books
Now, let's talk about our books.
First of all, all of our e-books use public domain works and resources, so it's completely legal. We also have six books which were donated to us by an indie author.
All of our e-books are created by us, meaning that we make covers and we also make original books using selected works, such as poems from different countries and in different languages.
We also offer a selection of books for children, that can be printed so they can colour them (or you can convert the file so they can colour with any colouring app/paint on tablet/computer).
Our available books
Here's a list of our available books so far, our collection is constantly expanding to provide more genres.

Going to start doing book recommendations for people looking to read about things related to some of the topics covered on this blog.

(My hand stretched out so far to cover the stickers indicating what library I got this from)
This book is, overall, really great for young kids, adults who have limited time, and it would also be decent for those of you who have trouble reading (no shame, I have a math disability). It’s a book by Vox publishing, which does these types of audiovisual/read-along books. It’s about Greta Thunberg (and because of this book I can now actually pronounce her name). It’s part of their Women Leading the Way series.

This book, as mentioned, is a read-along book. Come to think of it, this would probably help people with low vision, too. Here is what the inside of the front cover looks like.

As you can hopefully see, there is a diagram showing all the different parts of the “talker”. I would suggest that if you do have low vision, have someone help you with the diagram. After that you sh be good to go. The buttons also have the function symbols raised a bit so as long as you have an intact sense of touch it should be fine to do it by feel.

One bit of criticism comes from the use of the term Asperger’s Syndrome, which is an outdated term based on a very problematic doctor. With that said it’s not used extensively. Only on page 14 and in the glossary. If young children are using this book I recommend talking to them about how it’s not called that anymore in the USA and explaining that the doctor who named it that was not a good doctor, and perhaps mentioning that these days we just say “low support needs autism” instead.
Aside from that, the book does a good job talking about Greta Thunberg’s work as a climate activist and helping during the COVID-19 pandemic to get vaccines to more people! It also helps teach that even disabled kids can make a difference, and that even though it can be hard, it’s important to stand up for yourself and what you believe in.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Four stars.

Non online people: I love Harry Potter! I use Chat GPT to write my emails ;) Come find me on X, I'll send you my ai-generated spotify playlist! I'm thinking about buying some cryptocurrencies, do you know which ones are good? Me taking 500 points of psychic damage trying not to turn into a unskippable cutscene: Haha, conversations are so fun.
