Get ready for MORE GELPHIE ANALYSIS because the queer audhd English major brain never rests.

We know that Glinda is trying to get the Munchkins to empathize with Elphaba even though she can't publicly defend or mourn her. But another nice touch from the brilliant mind of Stephen Schwartz is that in telling about Elphaba's childhood,she makes a point to mention Elphaba's father being appointed governor of Munchkin Land. There are LAYERS here.

We know that Glinda was from a wealthy and prominent family. She has gone through a lot of character development at this point,but she is still Glinda Upland. Status and titles mean a lot to her still. Telling everyone that Elphaba was born in Munchkin Land is supposed to humanize her and show she is literally one of them yes...BUT our girl was bragging on her girl. She was letting them KNOW Elphie ain't a common wicked bitch. She's letting them know her bestie is ALSO from a prominent family and put some fucking respect on her name. It goes over their heads,but Glinda tried so hard short of telling the truth (which would be against Elphaba's wishes) or obliterating some munchkin ASS for shit talking her baby. I know seeing her finally get to cry her eyes out about it is going to wreck me

rewatching s13 after s11 & s12 kind of subdued dean’s antagonistic role (though you should be hyper aware that it’s still there if you’re watching correctly) that had been going strong for 7 seasons is….idk how to describe the feeling

dean absolutely had his moments in s11 & s12 that made me want to drop kick my laptop but s13 is back to bam bam bam he’s a villain!! i’m jerking off about it like always but i’m doing it tiredly. it’s maybe harder to watch bc s4-10 sam vs s13-15 sam is like he’s a piece of paper that has been slowly crinkled and crushed into a smaller and smaller ball that’s been kicked and thrown around and then small paper ball sam was dunked in water and squeezed really hard over and over again until his list of hopes and dreams that he wrote on himself were washed off and then for 2 seasons small soggy paper ball sam was left on the table to dry and he was knocked to the ground a few times and then you have a sam that is a hard tiny ball and there’s no unfolding him now he’s in that shape forever and he’s tossed into the trash because no one thinks that he’s fun to play with anymore

Refilling an old notebook case with a new inner book

I got this notebook with the inner book cut out already from a friend with the request to make a new inner book for it.

First of all I went to prepare the case. Which meant to take out the old endpapers, or what remained of it anyway, to check how big the inner book has to be to cover up any possible marks from the former endpapers and get rid of the pocket that way never in use anyway. I also get rid of the cardstock they used for endpapers to avoid warping from gluing in another set of endpapers on top of the old.

In the process I also peeled off the top layer of the board as well, which was not intended but not a bother either. Once I was done I smoothed down the boards again with a bonefolder and they were smooth enough to not show marks through the new endpapers later on.

For the inner book I know it's going to be a notebook so I went for a double fan binding. Instead of gluing it up with a rounded spine, as the case demands, I went for a straight spine first for ease of working after the glue had set enough to not be sticky any more I trimmed the edges to the final size and rounded the spine.

For rounding it's much the same as rounding a sewn book. One wacks the spine area gently with the flat side of a hammer until it gets a rounded spine on one side, then flips the book over and works the other side. I usually have to repeat this a few to get a nice shape.

I did a quick fitting test before going on, but after ll looked fine I went on.

Then I add another layer of glue, some mull and put it back between boards and under weight to dry completely before adding endbands and an oxford hollow.

Coptic Stitch Olive Oil Book

I bought a liter can of extra virgin olive oil cold pressed from ancient olive trees in Jenin, Palestine, sold by @handmadepalestine.

After it was delivered to me, I decided to upcycle the packaging the oil came in by turning parts of the box into a little coptic stitch notebook. The pages are from paper scraps that a friend gave me. It’s nothing gorgeous, but I’m quite pleased with it.
