for some time already i wanted to imagine in words perspective of uno, nico and rock at things that were thrown at us it the manga ending

bear with me, there definitely would be misspellings and grammar errors

so uno, nico and rock killed jyugo on one point or at least were direct cause of his death, intentional or not

they each met jyugo separately before, jyugo being like catalyst for their escaping prisons shenanigans but they weren't team or particularly close to jyugo

they never killed someone before, at least nico and rock for sure, so three of them flee in fear in different directions with no intention to meet again

but shortly after hiiro finds them and propose a "choice": never to be free ever again or to play pretend being friends with person they just killed and said person is somehow alive and have memory loss about all what happened before

my brain can't comprehend what kind of psychological sadism is this but there we have it

out fear and guilt uno, nico and rock agreed to hiiro's plan

at first I imagine them being really awkward with jyugo but jyugo didn't know how human interactions should be like anyways so they go through

after awhile they basically gaslight themselves into thinking that entirety of it is fine, that they all can make it work, that they might help jyugo like this, they can make him more human and so starting to view their friendship as real dismissing common sense about whole situation, fake it till you make it type of shit, they fell for their own made up illusion of happiness

in process they find bits of information about elf, about togabito but never the full picture

but after several loops of jyugo breaking his shackles, the main timeline we see in the story, they started to realize things not gonna get better, nor for jyugo nor for them (I think there should be at least two of this loops, first being outside of nanba, b4 chapters timeline and so after first they were transferred to nanba prison but how many loops they got through in nanba is ambiguous)

and that's where story ends rn, they want to tell jyugo the truth despite hiiro's orders and threats but they were too late to realize how wrong they have been

Everyone had a breaking point. Everyone, no matter who they were, what position they held- no one could ever withstand every responsibility, every tugging pull towards one task or another, the endlessness of it. Try as he might, the retired Hero was no different- though it felt a shame to be looking at yet another stack of students' papers he'd happily taken off the hands of one of his coworkers earlier, and realize...he really just wanted to stop.

A soft sigh escaped his throat, eyes momentarily flicking towards his phone, and then away. No- he was retired. There wasn't a chance of any call coming his way to save him from his work- from his own need to gut himself, metaphorically as much as physically. He was trapped.

Such was his lot in life.

He chose the same path, every time. The same thing that burned him out, that drove him to his breaking point- and he still chose it. He still barreled down it, knowing full-well the consequence that awaited. The chair creaked as the tall man leaned backward, an arm raising to cover his eyes. A soft groan rumbled in his throat. No,...keep working. Keep going.

The sound of footsteps outside the door had him sitting back up to look. For a moment, he wondered if they might pass- but the steps were too familiar. Too quiet.

The door creaked- and he instantly spotted brown hair, hazel hues that barely seemed to lock on- but they did all the same. They didn't come in with a laugh or a knock,...they just opened the door, shambling in.

It'd seem his other had hit their own breaking point, too. He moved to try to speak- but that gaze stopped him.

Don't.

They moved, steps discordant- practically stumbling over their own feet. They didn't stop as they came closer. Yagi shifted just before they nearly fell onto his lap- hugging him tight. Their head fell into his chest. He blinked, sky-blues flickering down to look at a mop of brown hair, dusted with gray from working all day. Then, his attention shifted towards the papers...and back.

Slowly, his arms raised to wrap around them in turn. A small shudder went down his other half's spine- and they squeezed him a fraction tighter on his good side.

....maybe...

A break for a few minutes would be good for them both.
