Fact: Extra estrogen produced by fatty tissue in overweight people raises the risk of uterine cancer. The body mass index (BMI), which measures a person's weight in relation to height, rises as BMI does. Obesity is associated with about 70% of uterine cancer cases.

Preventing Breast Cancer Through Early Detect and Diagnosis
Checkout why performing a breast examination at home is important. The children's hospital is offering the best healthcare. Read their blog to know more about breast cancer self-examination.
Breast cancer is one of the most common cancers in women and its number is constantly increasing. It is treatable and has a very high success rate, but it is important to catch it early.
Symptoms of breast cancer vary widely, from invisible symptoms to major changes such as a large lump in the breast or a lump on the nipple.
Some common signs to look out for include:
Importance of a home breast exam: According to the National Breast Cancer Foundation, "40% of diagnosed breast cancers are discovered in women who feel a lump, so regular breast self-exams are very important."
A breast self-exam helps you know how your breasts look and feel; and detect anomalies in their shape, size or composition.
How to do a breast exam at home?
Start with a visual check in front of the mirror: raise your arms high above your head and see if there are changes in shape, size and asymmetry. Look out for swelling, lumps or wrinkles or changes in the skin around the nipples. There may be a slight difference between the right and left breast, but any significant differences should be evaluated by a professional.
Next, let's move on to tactile or palpation: The National Breast Cancer Foundation recommends palpation both standing and lying down.
While standing observation, move the finger pads in a circular motion around the entire chest, starting from the outside to the center, checking the entire chest and armpit.
When lying down, the breast tissue spreads evenly along the chest wall. Now place a pillow under your left shoulder and place your left hand behind your head.
With your right hand, gently move the pads of your fingers around the left breast in small circular motions, covering the entire breast and armpits.
Now repeat the same with your right breast. Finally, look for a possible leak.
Squeeze the nipple firmly and check if there is a discharge from the breast. The American Cancer Society recommends that every woman over the age of 20 should examine her breasts once a month.
Breast self-examination should preferably be done one week after menstruation for better accuracy. Make sure you follow the pattern so that both breasts are completely covered. If you notice anything unusual, take it to the doctor immediately.
When should I contact a specialist?
Professional screening can help you detect cancer before you notice any symptoms. It is generally agreed that all women over the age of 40 should have an annual breast exam by a doctor. Women with a family history of breast cancer or who are at high risk of breast cancer should ask their doctor when and how often to start screening.
The most common tests and procedures used to diagnose breast cancer include:
General breast exam: a specialist examines the breasts and armpits to check for lumps or other abnormalities.
Mammography: Mammography can show breast lumps up to 2 years before the first symptoms appear. A mammogram is an x-ray of the breasts. First, a screening mammogram is performed. If an abnormality is detected during screening, a diagnostic mammogram is recommended for further evaluation of the abnormality.
Breast ultrasound: Ultrasound uses sound waves to produce images of body tissues. Your doctor will most likely recommend it if you have dense breasts, if you are at high risk for breast cancer, or if you are pregnant to avoid exposure to mammography x-rays.
Needle aspiration and biopsy: These are the surest ways to diagnose breast cancer. During these procedures, a small piece of breast tissue is removed to examine the cells under a microscope. This procedure is invasive and is usually only performed if previous tests show any abnormalities.
Depending on the situation, other advanced procedures such as chest MRI and CT scan are also performed.
(P.S. Breast cancer in men is rare, but it is good to do self-examination regularly)
If you have any questions on this topic, you can contact Axis Hospital on its official website via email or phone number.

Cancer changed me and everyone around me. My anxieties will never go away, my fear of cancer will never go away. I’m still going through doctors appointments, test, scans, etc. I have to see my oncologist every 4-6 months for the rest of my life. I see my scars, my lymphedema in my arm from the cancer spreading. The nightmares, the pain, the sadness, the friends that left me. I fought the tough fight twice and I kicked cancers ass, but it left me the battle wounds. I’ve been given a second and third chance and I’m grateful for my team at #johnshopkins, family and friends that stuck by me. #breastcancer #breastcancerawareness #breastcancermentalhealth #breastcancerfree #breastcancerwarrior #breastcancerfree💞 #savethetatas #mentalhealthawareness #thankyou #thankful #secondchance #johnshopkins #furnitureflippingsurvivor (at Harford County, Maryland) https://www.instagram.com/p/Cb_kRLMr9ZO/?utm_medium=tumblr

“Breast cancer awareness is an effort to raise awareness and reduce the stigma of breast cancer through education on symptoms and treatment. Supporters hope that greater knowledge will lead to earlier detection of breast cancer, which is associated with higher long-term survival rates, and that money raised for breast cancer will produce a reliable, permanent cure. The pink ribbon is the most prominent symbol of breast cancer awareness, and in many countries the month of October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month. “ #breastcancerawareness #checkyourboobs #breastcancerfree #breastcancersurvivor (at London, United Kingdom) https://www.instagram.com/p/CUzseKWM740/?utm_medium=tumblr
