3—Your favorite character beside Elio and Oliver ?

Such a hard one, because I love the Perlmans. So. Much.  But I think I have to give this to Marzia.  First of all, she’s adorable.  And, aside from the fact that Elio and Oliver belong with each other and no one else, she and Elio do look adorable together, especially on their cute little date.  But most of all, she is so lovely and compassionate with Elio.  She got hurt, but she knows he didn’t fuck around with her on purpose.  She’s aware of what Oliver meant to him, and is so kind to Elio after Oliver leaves.  Their “pour la vie” moment is one of my favorite scenes in the movie.

Non and Existent.  Okay, I don’t like thinking about his sons too often, so I’m just going to go with some, kind of, generically Jewish names - let’s do Noah and Joshua.

How the FUCK is someone supposed to answer this question.  I have about a million favorite moments in dozens of favorite scenes.  I guess, if forced, I’ll go with right after the cut to the tree.  Something about Oliver, snuggling into Elio, so, unabashedly happy and free, guard dropped, gets me every single time.

35—You’re in an Alternate Universe. Armie and Timmy don’t exist. Who do you pick to play Elio and Oliver?

I know this is a cop out, but I don’t know that I can imagine anyone else playing either one of them.  I truly think they were both so perfectly cast in the movie (though I’m always torn - I wish it could have been Armie a few years earlier, so he looked closer to 24, but I don’t know that he would have had the depth earlier to play Oliver) that I can’t picture anyone else in those roles.  I read the book before I saw the movie, but it was during the promo tour so I’d already seen the two of them and the trailers by the time I first read the book, so from the beginning of my CMBYN journey Armie and Timmy are who I envisioned.

I bet Tim is heartbroken over this scandal. (Not implying they are lovers!) Just from the standpoint of someone he looked up to. He often said on the CBMYN presser that he got a brother out of it. What a let down for him (and for Armie's children). Much as I'm not a fan of his - and my feelings about him are mostly because I hate the Charmies always lumping him in with Tim - I wouldn't have wished for something like this. Too many innocent people get hurt. Too many victims with lifelong trauma.

I don't think Tim is any more heartbroken than any of his other former costars tbh.

Wasn’t CBMYN promo right after he filmed Beautiful Boy? ~That’s why he looked particularly skinny and also why it’s ridic to compare him in Lady Bird to him after filming BB. I think it’s taken him a very long time to regain the 20ish pounds he lost for that. But through it all, he has remained gorgeous, IMO

He filmed BB and then ARDINY in 2017 before CMBYN promo began. It was clear he wasn't back up to the weight he was in CMBYN and maybe that was because of the weightloss of BB or simply his normal as he got older.
