"As they say, hard work is the key to all success," JEE Main Topper Kalpit Veerwal said.

How he made it:

While speaking about exam strategy, Kalpit said, "I studied 6-7 hours a day and took break for some extracurricular activities like cricket and badminton to refresh my mind."

"My parents and teachers were my mentors and they have been a great support during the exam time," he said.

On sharing his success mantra, Kalpit said:

"I would advise all the aspirants to do regular studies and should not take studies as burdens rather take it as a challenge," the topper said.

This year, nearly 14 lakh candidates gave the IIT JEE Main 2018 for the examinations held in April where more than 10 lakh candidates appeared in the JEE Main 2018 offline exam while more than 2 lakh candidates appeared for the online exam which was conducted on April 15 and April 16.

CBSE class 10th results 2018 have been announced. The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has released the results on its official website — cbse.nic.in. CBSE Class 10 result 2018 on May 28; download marks at cbse.nic.in; updates

CBSE Class 12 result was released today. CBSE Class 10 Result 2018 will be declared on May 28. According to a media report, Central Board of Secondary Education may declare CBSE 10th result on Monday. CBSE will release the results on its official website cbse.nic.in or cbseresults.nic.in. Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) announced CBSE 12th result on Saturday with the overall pass percentage of 83.01 percent. The top three regions were Thiruvananthapuram with 97.32 percent, Chennai 93.87 percent, and Delhi with 89 percent.

"The board congratulates all the students. The girls have taken a lead of 9.32 percent ahead of boys. The pass percentage has also increased by 1 percent. There are nine toppers this year with the first topper at 499 marks, the second topper 498, and seven toppers at 497 marks," Public Relations Officer (PRO) CBSE Rama Sharma said.

"The CBSE has also set up special counselling facility for dealing with post-result anxiety. The toll-free number 1800-11-8004 can be accessed from any part of the country," she further added.

Meghna Srivastava, from Ghaziabad, became the national topper with 499 marks out of 500. Anoushka Chandra from Ghaziabad secured the second position with 498. A Vijay Ganesh from Kerala topped the differently able category with a score of 492. Pooja Kumari of Dehradun secured the second position with 489 and, Lavanya Jha of Delhi came third with 487.

Pass Criteria Changed for 10th Grade CBSE Results 2018

The CBSE Exam Board has made some changes in the passing criteria for Class 10 CBSE subjects.

The subjects that have 2 components - 20 marks internal assessment and 80 marks written assessment will probably be exempted from separate mandatory pass marks.

It's enough for the students to secure an overall of 33 percent to pass in the subject. This includes securing overall 33 percent considering both the internal and written assessments marks. Next time, students can practice their NCERT solutions based on this passing criteria.

This pass criteria will come into effect starting from the results of this academic year, i.e, CBSE 10th results 2018.
