A true gamer spends over 100 hours in a game they barely understand the mechanic of. I have no idea how to really play ck3 but I still have over 200 hours in it. Similar thing with rimworld
Spymaster: Alright, my liege, our plot to kill Lord Olrich is 95% likely to succeed and there's a 100% chance it'll remain a secret.
Me: Alright. Do it. Kill him.
Spymaster, literally three seconds later: My liege we have absolutely failed. Completely. He's not dead. In fact, he seems to have grown stronger. The spider that bit him gave him magical powers of some kind.
Me: W-what?
cSpymaster: Also, the entire planet knows we tried to kill him and have rallied behind Lord Spidernator.
Currently going through TS4 withdrawals, so I had to make do with the only game in my friend's PC.
Anyone else play Crusader Kings III? I must admit, I have no idea how to play the game. I did, however, have fun with the character creation, which happens to be A LOT more sophisticated than TS4!
I think I made (Shrek's) Prince Charming though. Apparently, he was born with built-in blush and lipstick. I just *know* he's high maintenance.
spent basically all of today, literally since i woke up, so that i could continue my west francia -> Carolingian borders Francia -> HRE -> Roman Empire game. doing really really well, no factions getting ready to rebel and I'm making like, 100 gold, max level of fame and faith, dynasty is currently uh "glorious"? i think? i don't remember the names. Ruler is a witch and I'm in the process of converting the dynasty so that i can found a coven, and i mended the great schism. Currently I'm only missing Tunis and uh, Antiochia i think, to reform the Roman Empire, but it's currently 3am and i need to go eep.
As for what I did today specifically, got rid of Byzantium, vassalized egypt, everything east of Polabia and south of Croatia has only been taken today, same for Denmark and everything that i have in England. Iberia is being slowly taken apart by my vassals in the area. Got max crown authority and i think half of the early medieval innovations. I consecrated my bloodline too, and I'll likely be strengthening it too the next time i play, i did a lot of inbreeding to get those congenital traits.
anyways, basically it's like 1020 and the roman empire is just about reformed. Fuck yeah.
without question my favorite feature of crusader kings 3 is that before starting, you can go into the options, find the one labeled something like “sexism” and one of the ways you can set it is “reversed” and absolutely every bit of sexism gets reversed. all of it. every law, every religion, every snide comment. the knights are all women, your advisors are all women, your entire world becomes a vicious early-medieval whirlwind of wars, like always, but this time Women...
Not to be autistic on main but ck3 (and ck2) are like so good for world building inspiration. I have little dialogs in my head of how characters are interacting with eachother, war, conflicts, family drama, anything. All of it surrounding medieval politics. It just scratches an itch in my brain so right. I don't even get mad when bad shit happens. Like, baby that's character development that is going to carry on for generations to come. Your great grandchild will someday go to war with your sister who wants the crown. Your kid might fucking murder you. Chef's kiss.
everyday thinking about my ck3 king whose wife declared him her nemesis (<- they're also soulmates) because he kicked her out of the daughters grand wedding for being drunk and fistfighting the guest and then after they had their old people sex she tied him to the bed, my king thought she wanted to something sexy 🤭, and she wanted to castrate him as revenge and he went "no no! Do you really want to not have (gestures to his dick) this anymore???" and she went "you know what you're right" and didn't castrate him.
